Consistently solid pizza. It is a little pricey, especially if you are getting plain slices. That said why would you get a plain slice when the white slice is really something special here. With caramelized onions and sesame seeds on a very crisp crust it is white slice perfection. I only ever eat in or take out. Eat in can be tough since there is not a lot of seating. Don't bother with delivery unless you want to wait 90-120 minutes even on off hours. I once ordered and was given a wait of 45 minutes to an hour. An hour and a half later I called and was told it was on the way. 30 minutes after that I called and was angry, and the manager game ME lip service! Minus some stars right there. read more

The pizza here is good. But the ambiance is even better. Hip-hop music bounces through this quaint space as you wait for your slices. In my case ... it was three slices and a "real" Coke. Cheese, Sausage and Onion, Sausage and Onion. The consistency of the crust is different from most. It's very thin and crispy, but not crunchy. It's almost like they put some rice flour in with the wheat for some extra bite. Overall, this is a decent pizza joint with good people and good slices. This is the best takeout/delivery spot in Williamsburg, not including Motorino, which is a totally different (highbrow) style anyway. White slice - This is the slice to get if you're not getting anything else. Solid parmesan with a bite, extremely sweet caramelized onions, and a very strong sesame flavored crust. If you're just stopping for once slice (but why would you do that?), get this. Grandmother slice - The inversion of the white slice. Sauce, with little to no cheese. Fluffy and bready, almost like a foccacia. A little more cakey than most other grandmother slices, and smaller than a Sicilian. Still excellent. Regular slice - one of the best cheap regular slices in the city. Akin to dollar pizza, but obviously a few (million) cuts above. Meatball sub - Meatballs are a little small, but overall far more flavorful, kicky, and with a stronger herbal component than your run of the mill meatball hero. Your average Brooklyn pizza. I don't get the hype, this from a born and raised Brooklynite. It's like any pizza shop on any corner in any neighborhood in Brooklyn. Maybe my review reflects the fact that I drove out of my way to try it. Seeing it included in some top pizza lists I don't get it. I guess if I lived in walking distance might give it another star but would not recommend by any means going out of your way to try it. Been hitting them for the past several months now.Hands down best pies in the neighborhood, if not the city. The crust is incredible and their toppings are always super fresh. I loved this place. I was taken here on Scott's Pizza Tour and it didn't disappoint. First of all, this was my first time in Brooklyn, but if there was one pizza joint that captured what new Brooklyn is I think this would be it. It's a casual place with a funky vibe. Paper plate art covers the ceiling and a Dark Crystal poster in on the bathroom door. The tour guy said the plain pizza and white pizza were best, so white pizza it was. When I got there it still wasn't ready but I noticed there was 1/2 of a pie sitting there, but I thought nothing of it, when I got home I noticed they reheated the 1/2 that was sitting there with the fresh 1/2. My friend recommended this place and it overall has a good rating. Stopped by with my wife to pick up a pie, knowing we had to wait a little while for it to come out. Ordered 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 sausage pie. Was supposed to take 20-25 minutes, ended up waiting 50 (!!) minutes for the pizza to be ready. Even though I indicated it was for take-out when ordering it was served out on a tray. So the guy had to go back and try and get it in a box. Needles to say this messed the pizza up. Brought it home, opened the box and the pizza looked rather small, measured it (yes I went that far) and I had gotten an 18" pizza that was sold to me as a 20" pie? To top it off, the outside of the crust was burned and black while the middle of the pizza was soggy. Ordered this pizza, a cheese pizza with half pepperoni, for $24 thinking it would be fresh amazing stuff. Given a wait time for delivery at 65-75 minutes, I'm thinking that it's going to be made to order fresh amazing stuff. Delivery arrived from a mile away in just over 20 minutes, which you THINK would warrant positive reviews. However, the pizza was not fresh or remotely made to order, or even hot, and definitely not amazing. It was warm, at best, with burnt edges. Not just recently burnt in the oven, mind you, but rather previously burnt and left out then reheated with a few pepperoni slices on half. The garlic knots I ordered were also burnt, horribly. Hard as a rock, nowhere near fresh, and charred on both sides. Seems these too were already made and sitting out, then reheated/burnt. Horrible experience of what claims to be the 'Best Pizza' and at that price it was a rip off ($35 total with delivery for the pie and knots). With an expected wait time of over an hour you would think the shop would take pride in their pizza being made fresh to order. Shame on you guys. read more

Only thing keeping it from getting 5 stars is the relatively high prices given the relatovely small size of the slices, and the fact that when you go there it may take a really long time to get your food. For me, it took around 15 minutes to get a single slice last time I was there, perhaps because most of the pizzas being made were for delivery. Frank Pinello owns this spot, he also has his own show on Viceland called "The Pizza Show" & is a true Italian pizzaiolo. He is very very passionate about his pizza craft. We ordered ahead & the pie came out right on time. It's Williamsburg so by default this place has a very hip & unique interior ambiance. By far this is in the top 5 pizzas I've ever had! Delicious sauce(not too salty), cheese was perfectly cooked. The dough is nice and crunchy. Also, true to NYC style...this is a super thin slice. Best Pizza has been getting a lot of hype for the pizza and the meatball sandwich. The hype is warranted for the sandwiches, but the pizza is just OK. At this point I've eaten here a number of times, tried every slice, ordered a full pizza and tried all the sandwiches. The meatball sandwich is excellent. As I'm sure many reviews mention, it is Pat LaFrieda meat in the balls and they live up to the hype. The roll is also great. Size is pretty small but it will fill you up if you aren't all too hungry. The value is decent, not fantastic. I'm a bit disappointed by the pizza though. I want to like it more, but every time I try it I come to the same conclusion -- there isn't enough punch in the flavor (I find the sauce a bit bland) and the cost is too high. Granted, I'm comparing this to the best New York slices, but I actually think I prefer Carmine's around the corner if its pizza your looking for. read more

The only reason why I'm a fan is because of the grandma slice I had this past weekend. Holy cow. It was DELICIOUS. It had garlicky sauteed kale, butternut squash, beets, mushrooms, pickled vegetables, dollops of ricotta and the crust...THE CRUST! This slice blew my mind. Another slice that I found pretty exceptional was their white slice. The ricotta and the spots of carmelized onion definitely makes this a superb snack. Yes, snack, because clearly, one slice is not enough. If you're a pizza purist (like my bf) and find that the only way to determine whether or not a pizza joint is good is by trying their plain slice, then I'd say Best Pizza is OK. The dough on the plain is thin with a good amount of cheese and tomato sauce, but I wouldn't say it's the best by any means, especially in pizza mecca, Brooklyn. The special slices are what make Best Pizza really stand out. If you go, pray that they're serving the grandma slice I wrote about in the first paragraph. If not, go for the white slice. If they don't have either, then I feel bad for you. read more

Best Pizza is a great pizzeria in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The pizzeria is brick oven based and its very very good. I love the taste! Simply delicious. The pizzeria is small, but the inside is very cozy and creatively decorated. Great for a quick bite with family or friends. Children will like this pizzeria. I certainly would go back. The pizza here really could be good. Indeed, it would have been pretty good had they not burnt each of the pizzas that I ate. Now, this was not a problem that was unique to just one pie. I had three different kinds of pizza (plain, pepperoni, and white) and each of the slices was burnt. Maybe this was a bad day, but there seemed to be some serious quality control issues. That said, the pizza seemed to be made of quality ingredients and the parts that were not burnt were rather tasty. However, they also seemed to skimp on the ingredients and on some of the slices, especially the white ones, there was a lot of topping-less bread. The service was nice and quick. The place had perfectly fine ambiance for those who enjoy looking at a bunch of people's drawing on paper plates. They also have beer, which is convenient if you want to drink beers. I have no idea how much those cost because my friend bought it for me. The pizza could have been cheaper, especially given the relatively small.
