It was delicious and paired perfectly with shrimp. The lunch portion was plenty of food. As others have noted, the miso soup is excellent with crunchy fresh-chopped onion greens. Jasmine cranberry tea was also great. The restaurant itself is either well-loved or looking tired depending on your point of view. For our mains, one of our group had the chicken pad Thai and really liked it. The best was the sashimi lunch box. It was quite large with lots of fish (8 assorted pieces) , seaweed salad, part of a California roll, and a couple pieces of a crunch roll. I was disappointed in my shrimp tempura as I didn't care for the heavy breading. I'd still come back here if in the area, but I'd order something totally different. I don't know what kind of magic they put into this food, but I'm convinced it's some secret family recipe passed down from generations--because this is, without question, the best miso soup we've ever had in our lives. We always get the edamame appetizer, two sakes, miso soup, sashimi, chicken pad Thai, the lobster bomb roll, and the rainbow roll, and veggie tempura. This time we also tried the Penang curry with rice. We can confidently report that everything was absolutely excellent--flavor, temperature, texture--flawless. The portions are generous, so we brought home boxes of curry and pad Thai, but only because there was too much to finish, not because we wanted to stop eating. Everything is five-star delicious. This restaurant use to be so good. Service, food, atmosphere. Lately, the service has dramatically declined. We were a party of 4 and were there for 3.5 hours. 2 entrees were brought out and the other two didn't come out for an hour afterwards. We complained as well as other patrons on wait times. The server then tells us that there was only one cook in the back. No apologies were given on the situation except the full bill. This is an easy review considering the food is excellent and very authentic Thai flavors. Located in a nondescript small shopping area with all the looks typical of Florida where a dance studio seems to have more traffic than this restaurant. Best Thai is right behind the Green Chasers driving range, making it an easy spot to grab a bite after hitting some balls. It's not fancy and fairly small. It's usually busy this time I sat by the sushi bar. Service is okay...not very friendly, but they get the job done. One highlight here is the free refills on the cranberry jasmine iced tea, which is so good so you'll want to take advantage of the refills. The fried gyoza dumplings are a favorite of mine and make a great starter. As for the sushi, it was just okay. I've had better...the ingredients didn't taste as fresh as I prefer, though it was still edible. The Thai fried rice with shrimp is a much better choice. You walk into the restaurant and (during the holidays) it was very well lit, and is also a very cozy place to be. When you get inside the staff are very friendly, and they're very quick to make orders. Best Thai really does have the best sushi in Zephyrhills/Dade City, and anything/everything you get on the menu will be worth it. This is an oasis of flavor amidst a food desert and is the only thing that has kept me going for the past three years living in the area. The staff are very friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. They are a small restaurant and it can get busy on a Friday night but they handle it fairly well. They redid their flooring in the past year or so and it looks nice. The interior is nicely decorated and very cozy. The food itself is so delicious! I've had curries, noodle dishes, appetizers, and sushi here and I have not tried a single solitary bite that I did not enjoy. It's great if you have a vegetarian or vegan in the group as well as they have veggie sushi, vegetable tempura, and fried tofu dishes. Looking for a new place and low and behold Yelp recommended Best Thai & Sushi so we figured we would give it a shot. Located in a small strip mall we weren't sure what to expect. Atmosphere: Despite the look from outside, when you walk in you are transformed into a sushi and Thai haven. They have a sushi bar and lots of Asian artwork and sculptures making for a relaxing meal. Service: The service was good. The night we came, the place was very busy with only two servers. They handled it well. The server checked in appropriately and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time given the amount of customers. Food: Hamachi Kama - One of my favorite dishes. The visual appeal was a bit lacking (wish it had been broiled at the end) but it was DELICIOUS. Lots of flavor and the portion was quite large. Sushi - Three musketeers was an all raw roll with yellow tail, tuna, and salmon. It was fresh and a nice combination. The eel, cucumber and avocado (I added avocado) was delicious. It's been a while since I've had eel and I forgot how much I enjoy it. We also got the Red Dragon roll. This roll was very good, my only comment is that I wish it had spicy Mayo instead of eel sauce; the inside of the roll have cream cheese and avocado which are sweet, the addition of eel sauce adds another sweet component. Not to worry, we asked for a side of spicy Mayo and it was perfect. Green curry - Ordered mild with tofu and it had a slight kick. We loved that this included eggplant which we find isn't often in curry. Drinks: The sake, beer and Thai iced tea were also great. I was visiting my mom to help her unpack her new home, and I got a hunger pain for sushi. So off to yelp I went and Best Thai & Sushi fell in my lap! And thank baby Yoda it did! When I got there the parking lot was full so I knew it was gonna be good! When I walked in, it was booming, all most all the tables were occupied servers were hustling and making their rounds. I had to wait afre minutes before I was greeted but considering the atmosphere it was all good. But sometimes you got a few chunk. We also got stir fried udon with pork and spicy udon soup. Both dishes is average. Service is good. Food quantity is acceptable. I like Kama Hamachi. The menu is BIG. And a little confusing. But it certainly covers a lot of Japanese & Thai items. There are also vegetarian options. Generally people in our party enjoyed their meals. The sushi was fresh & well prepared, but they should not advertise escolar as "white tuna" because it's not. Also, many restaurants no longer carry this fish because it tends to cause GI issues for people. The Thai entrees were well received. However, the noodles in the pad thai were a bit gummy. Since this is a major component of this dish, it detracted from its enjoyment. Unfortunately, we were not informed when we made our reservation that each bill for our party of six was going to have an automatic 18% gratuity added to it. Also, there is nothing on the menu or the website about this practice. Despite these issues, we would probably go back again. read more

I ordered a bento box which included sushi, pad Thai, and salad for 12.99. For everything I got, it was a great deal. My hubby had the chicken pad thai. They have a dinner and lunch portion. Dinner is better for him bc he doesn't want soup or salad. I think it was around $11 and was also a great portion size. Their menu is huge. I had to take a paper menu home because it is that big and easier to read on paper than online. We had our food to go and it was ready to go when I got there. It was super easy. The best part of this whole thing is they had mango sticky rice. It's so simple yet so good. Ill definitely come here more often. There's another Thai restaurant in the area and I have been going there. But definitely just wanted to change it up. When I have family come into town and they ask of any good Thai places my very first recommendation is best Thai and sushi! Hands down! The service is great. Server is attentive, checking on drinks as they get low without having to get their attention. The ambiance is really nice. I have tried many dishes on the menu, and the menu is EXTENSIVE! Please do not be fooled, I have not had one bad meal served to me here and have eaten here regularly for over 8 years. The sushi here is fresh and off the charts! Fresh ingredients steal the show and the sushi chefs are front and center to let you know what your eating is as fresh as it gets. The Thai is phenomenal. My go-to is the panang curry with the crispy duck. The duck is cooked perfectly, crispy fried skin, sliced thin and very moist, and never dry. Dark meat. As an appetizer I get the curry puff which is spiced perfectly. Fried perfectly and a flavor bomb to start the meal off right. I recommend giving them a second to cool because they are fresh from the fryer and by NO MEANS is that a complaint. I'd rather have food that comes out HOT than food that come out... well... not. For Saturday night dinner we were craving for thai food so we decided to have food from Best Thai & Sushi. The restaurant was about 20 mins from our place. Best Thai & Sushi is a great restaurant serving thai as well as sushi. When we entered the restaurant we were a group of 3 people and we were seated to our table. We were soon greeted by our server Juu with water and menus. After browsing through the menus and discussing with our server for soup we ordered Tom Kha Soup, for appetizers we ordered Spring Roll, for noodles we ordered Chicken Pad Thai, for curry we ordered Vegetable Green Curry and for sushi we ordered Red Dragon Roll. Soon we started getting our order starting with Tom Kha Soup. The soup was delicious and hot and we loved. Perfect start to the dinner. Then we got our appetizer which was spring roll. The spring roll was good and delicious with sweet sauce. Soon we got our Pad Thai and Green Curry. Both pad thai and green curry was good and delicious. Although, we believed that consistency of the curry can be improved. Soon we got our Sushi roll i.e. Red Dragon Roll. The sushi was good and delicious. This is a real gem for food, and service. The name says it all but I needed to try it for myself. We've had the amazing Yellow Curry for take out. Today we stayed in for some sushi. The steamed gyoza appetizer was so good we didn't get a picture. The ice cold beer was a great compliment but like their extensive food selection, the drinks options are abundant. One special item is the cucumber rainbow roll (I don't remember the name but the pic is in this review) was amazing. Lighting doesn't do it justice.
