Awesome stay! Erick was so helpful with our late check in (early AM) and even gave us a generous discount. Rooms have a cute cabin feel- shower amenities, comfy beds and blankets it's the perfect stop between San Francisco and Oregon!

This is my 5th time here with my family in the span of 5 years in this wonderful hotel in Mount shasta. This place is owned by Erik he's a great guy and make sure everyone's experience is great. Aswell as the staff Stephaine,Samantha, and Susan who make sure the rooms are supplied and freshly cleaned everyday. And ofcourse mike who helps us book a room comfortable for us and for the time we need. It's a great place if your coming to Shasta with kids or even alone I would definitely recommend this place! (Kid and pet friendly)

Definitely a one stop type of place and very conveniently located for those stopping between the San Francisco Bay and Oregon. The host was very nice and even accommodated our late arrival time of 1AM. The room was clean with a mini fridge, shower, and a parking spot that is directly in front of your room.

Dunsmuir Lodge is a cute little motel in the little adorable town of Dunsmuir. The motel is clearly a labor of love and the people there are very friendly and accommodating. We needed a late check in and they were happy to oblige when I called. The beds are cabiny with large quilts and very comfortable mattresses. While this isn't the most modern and up to date everything was clean and tidy. Perfect when you are passing through and want a cozy place for the night. We had breakfast the next morning at the cornerstreet cafe down the street and it was fantastic. We plan on this being our go to stop when road tripping down or up the I-5.

Room wasn't ready - had to wait an hour. Cable TV didn't work & front office was closed. NO hot water in the morning. Front desk was rude.

Both rooms were clean, well-maintained and in top condition. We had a good sized room, king size bed, table and chairs, fridge and microwave, sofa, TV, heat and A/C, sink separated from the bathroom, shower/tub and coffee maker. The hotel grounds are attractive and nicely maintained. It's in a safe neighborhood and there is a small to-go coffee shop across the street. A small, well stocked grocery store is just down the street. It's a husband and wife operation and we found them to be warm and friendly in any interaction. On our initial check in the wife not only quickly checked us in but clued us as to waterfalls to see, nearby restaurants she frequented and Dunsmuir 's wonderful tap water, from the same source that is bottled and sold elsewhere (the tap water is to die for). The husband was also quite helpful checking us in the second time, changing our room to the second floor, giving us some backstory on the hotel and directions to a nice Riverwalk. The price was quite reasonable and we had a pleasant stay both times. Highly recommended.

Now the bed, how do you make something both perfectly soft but unimaginably firm? COMFORTABLE isn't even close but uugghh will be returning to sleep a weekend away.

The dining car was a special treat, the meal overall was very good but could have been better with a little attention to detail. The rigatoni pasta dish was absolutely perfect , popping with flavor and as good as any I've ever had. We ordered a couple glasses of pinot noir with our dinner and when they arrived they were noticeably warm like 80-85 degrees like they had been roasting in the sun , not a pleasant room temp like they should be. We also ordered a large caesar salad that we all split and the lettuce was warm like it was sitting in a window soaking up the sun, plate was not chilled and even if it was it couldn't have cooled down hot lettuce, salad was light on dressing , the halved petite romaine was very bitter, i've purchased this lettuce at costco a couple times and stopped buying it because the petit romaine tends to be very bitter, i love the consistency of the smaller denser heads of lettuce but the bitterness is unpleasant .....hopefully the chef is tasting his food and can see what he thinks. My wife ordered the pasta with shrimp and loved it! My dad had the rib eye and said it was pretty good but maybe not 57$ good. The pasta dishes were 10/10 amazing , reasonably priced and generous in size , the warm wine and salad is an easy fix, it was a nice treat after a week of camping and cooking to not have to , so highly recommend giving them a try for dinner during your stay!! Mountain scenery was incredible from the campground!! The pool was a little crowded at times but we enjoyed a couple hours of pool time both days. The host in the campground Frank and his dog Reno were great !! We really enjoyed our visit and wouldn't hesitate to stop in again, a lovely place to spend a couple days !!! Thank you!!!Cheers !!

We've been going to railroad park resort since the 1990's and eating there every time we come through town - 2-3 times a year. They used to make a great steak, with a deep dark sauce with mashed potatoes and veggies. I recently ordered the steak - $58.00 - making it the most expensive entree in the area (including the high end places in Mccloud, etc) and it had no sear. was under cooked. Had no seasoning. No sauce. The potatoes were rubber and the veggies were gross. The pork chop was similarly under-cooked and had the same sides -so same feedback. I looked for a manager to talk to and couldn't find one. So I messaged them on facebook and they told me I could come by any time and talk to the cook. Where was the cook the night I was there? I was told there was no manager to talk to. I only eat their when vactioning and can't just pop in. I live 5 hours away. If they're going to raise their prices from $40 to $60 for a steak - they need to up their gave. Instead they dropped the ball. The food isn't worth it and they don't care.

There is a train track nearby, but don't let that deter you from staying here! The hotel does an excellent job insulating the rooms from the sound, and I had no trouble getting a great night's sleep. The beds are super comfortable, too. What really impressed me, though, was the customer service. In my haste to catch my flight--I had to drive all the way back to Medford, Oregon--I accidentally left a couple of items behind. Christine and Ari went above and beyond to make sure my belongings were mailed back to me. I really appreciated the care and effort they put into helping me. This is a hotel that genuinely cares about its guests, and if I'm ever back in the Mount Shasta area, I will absolutely stay here again. It is a little pricier than some of the other hotels in the area, but it's worth it for the cleanliness, comfort, quiet rooms, and excellent service. The location is also really convenient. There's a large grocery store within walking distance, and the movie theater is right across the way. Highly recommended!

The location has potential, but our stay was highly disappointing…read more First and foremost, the checkout policy requires guests to wash all dishes prior to checking out. This is a major sanitation concern. IF the property thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the kitchenware between stays, this chore is an unnecessary burden on paying guests. If they do not reclean them, then the health and safety of incoming guests relies entirely on the honor system and the cleaning habits of previous occupants. It is incredibly unsettling to think the dishes we used may not have been professionally washed or sanitized. The cabin itself clearly got a "landlord special" French doors were stuck and wouldnt open. Had to call maintenance to get them fixed. The refrigerator and cabinet drawers overlap so tightly that opening the fridge makes the drawers to open, and vice versa. The fridge door is already dented, clearly from this problem. The blinds are old, broken, and don't close all the way. So we had to wake up with the sun every morning, spiderwebs in the ceiling corners throughout the cabin. For the price charged to stay here, guests should at least be guaranteed professional cleanliness. Unfortunately, this property missed the mark on all counts.

The wedding was hosted across the street at the golf course and my suggestion to the person who organizes both of these venues. I think you should offer golf cart transportation between the resort and the golf course. That would prevent a lot of people from taking the chance and driving that short distance while intoxicated. I noticed this first hand on several of our party goers. We had a beautiful cabin that was not on the lake, but close enough to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. I see a lot of reviews had a problem with cleanliness and honestly, we did walk in to a musty smelling cabin and dead, flying things all in the bathroom, but after doing a black light inspection of the mattress, I was reasonably assured that bedbugs would not be an issue. To me that's a big one. I highly recommend this location if you're planning a wedding at the golf course.

The room was first floor near the stairs and smoking area outside, but that was not a problem at all. The room was clean, towels and bedding were clean and crisp. I liked the welcome note on the bed. That was really sweet of them! The room had a microwave and small fridge w/freezer. There was a small office desk with coffee and ice. Tv, a/c, heater unit. Two things to note: 1. If you use 3 ports to charge at the clock on the nightstand, it uses too much power and one of the electronics needs to be unplugged. There are wall outlets, so you'd need to use those. 2. We didn't have a shower curtain when we arrived. I thought it was one of those modern places where it's just open, but we definitely needed a shower curtain. I felt so bad showering and getting everything wet in the bathroom. Housekeeping was kind to answer quickly and gave us towels to clean up. The fan in the bathroom isn't that effective. I suspect they'll have a mold problem in the future. The light switch to the bathroom is on the outside, which I thought was odd. Other than that, we had a pleasant one night stay. We would stay here again!
