My experience at this hotel was incredibly disappointing, and it all started with the front desk staff--specifically someone named Shelly. From the moment I walked in with my dog, she made it clear she had an issue with us. Her attitude was not only judgmental and rude but also completely unprofessional. Best Western advertises itself as "leaders in pet-friendly hotels," yet this location was the exact opposite of that. Shelly never even confirmed my reservation, despite me spelling my last name twice. Instead, she bluntly told me the hotel does not allow pets. Things escalated further when Shelly walked past me to speak with the manager. My dog, Aria, let out a low growl--an entirely normal and protective behavior when a stranger approaches. Rather than understanding or even ignoring the situation, Shelly turned to me and said, "Yeah, no, we can't have that thing here." That comment was not only rude but deeply offensive. Shelly returned and reiterated that dogs weren't allowed but failed to provide any proof. When I asked to see the policy, she admitted she didn't know where it was. At that point, I asked to speak with the manager since Shelly clearly lacked the knowledge or professionalism to address the issue. The manager eventually came over and clarified that the pet policy varies by location and showed me that this specific hotel is listed as "no pets allowed" on the Best Western website. However, I had booked through Expedia, where no such restriction was mentioned. The manager stated that they aren't required to disclose the no-pet policy on third-party booking platforms. While I understand this might be a misunderstanding due to miscommunication between the platforms, it could have been handled far more gracefully, especially on Shelly's part. The real issue here is Shelly. It's acceptable for a hotel to have a no-pet policy, but it's not acceptable for a staff member to act in such a rude and condescending manner. She made it seem like my dog was dangerous, failed to provide clear information, and lacked any sense of professionalism or hospitality. I won't be returning to this location, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone--whether they're traveling with a pet or not. Our trip was very quick we only stayed two nights at this Best Western Plus and we enjoyed it. The location was very close to the freeway and it made getting back to the 5S so easy. We've stayed in other hotels along this freeway and this place is my favorite thus far. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good what more could you ask for? The beds were surprisingly comfortable!!! I think I actually got a good night's sleep! I know, I was really surprised. The rooms were modern and had enough room for a family of four. The best part of the hotel was the fact that they had a pool for my kiddos. The pool was clean but was not warmed, which is not a big deal. The gym was adequate and clean. I loved how they had a water filler in the lobby so you can fill up your reusable water bottles. The staff was helpful and kind. They did let all guests know that room cleaning was by request only. I actually loved this. With two crazy messy boys I'd rather folks stay out of the room until we are done with it. LOL All in all the place was clean, I loved the breakfast, coffee was good. It's very close to Costco gas, a super plus. The beds were clean and comfortable. There are the basic amenities to keep my kids entertained for a couple of days - a major thumbs up for me! I wouldn't work with this business again if my life depended on it. My wedding is today, and we were promised a complimentary shuttle service for transportation to the venue. I provided them with business of 16+ people to stay at their property. I learned the day of the wedding that they would not provide the shuttle service for our guests. The reasoning behind it is that we did not meet a fabricated "minimum" number of guests not directly divulged to us as necessary to run the shuttle. I've been on the phone with the business six times the morning of our wedding and while apologetic, was told there was nothing they could do to remedy this issue. You're welcome for the thousands of dollars you've earned from my friends and family staying on your property. And thanks for ruining transportation to my wedding for all of my guests. I would leave zero stars if I could. read more

This is a good choice for anyone working or visiting Livermore. It's basically an average best western with no frills. It's clean and cheap and has a very basic breakfast. Coffee is available in the morning during breakfast hours. Rooms are pretty basic but get the job done. We met Debbie, the GM when we checked in, & Debbie was AMAZING & EXTREMELY ACCOMODATING & SUPER HELPFUL & FRIENDLY for our room needs. Plus, Erica (Front Desk PM, Monday 6/3/2024) & Lupe (Front Desk AM, 6/4/2024) were Both FANTASTIC!!! The Room was EXTREMELY CLEAN & Well Stocked. What a GREAT Room Design, and plenty of practical space. I Personally LOVED the Cleopatra Chair, due to my bad back, & pain, I sleep on the Chair sitting up, with my legs elevated and the Cleopatra Chair was FANTASTIC, plus having an extra blanket in the Room, was Smart & Helpful, I didn't have to go to the Front Desk to ask for an extra blanket, like I Usually have to at other Hotels. This hotel was literally one of the cleanest hotels I've ever came across , the staff are super nice , the rooms are super clean , its either renovated or a new hotel but it's very quiet and peaceful there and there's so many nice people you come across. The place was really clean but the room was odd. No in room safe, the bathroom sink is just that, a sink hooked to the wall. No vanity or shelving to put your toilets on. The bed was really low to the floor as was the in room chair. At first we thought maybe we were given an wheelchair compliant room but the coffee maker and shower would not have meet that requirement. The breakfast was good, it was quiet and the staff was nice. This is a newer hotel but is showing some wear and lack of maintenance, shower tiles cracked and shower doesn't drain, musty smelling rooms , bent lamp shades , toilets flush handles that don't work. I arrived on Saturday with intentions of checking out on Tuesday after checking in with my cc it was charged with to unfamiliar charges from metro pcs.(I've never had issues with this car before, I hardly ever use this cc except for trips) The front desk were suspicious at the very least of card fraud. The general manager was there later the next day and got the all the card discrepancies hopefully cleared up, I'll have to wait a pour 24 hrs to be sure. The rooms were ok not as clean as they have been at other best westerns or this one in the past. When calling for assistant at the front desk there was no one available for at least 30 minutes to an hr. Several other people were wait to be checked in when I went down there. The shower handle was broken. There was only towels for one person which we clearly reserved the room for two people luckily I always bring towels when traveling. I reserved a room with a hot tub and there was hair and no telling what else. I had to clean it myself. Make sure you double check your cc when checking in and out. It was chaotic to say the least to get all Of this cleared up. It was not a pleasant stay this go round to say the least. read more

Used to come here more often but this was the first time in a few years for a date night. The ceiling in the shower had water damage and looked like it was about to fall in. Also had mold. The heating/AC unit had the power button smashed in so it took a while just to try and get it to turn on. Carpet was torn up in certain places. Carpet had some red stuff smashed in smeared all over the carpet and was there from previous person and never cleaned up. TV remote was oily and probably never cleaned. I highly doubt they even attempt to clean these rooms because we walked in and it was such a strong smell of air freshener to mask the fact they don't actually clean anything. Waste of money, waste of time, and discusting. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

I had a reservation for October 7. Upon arriving i was told I needed to use my credit card for the reservation. I explained that my son was going to pay for my room. The lady at the desk said my card would not be used once his was used. The hotel held my card. I called the hotel on Monday after I checked out on October 8. Was told they would cancel the holds in 3 days. I called again on Friday October 13 as they still had not reversed the hold. When I called was told they hold it for 5 days......hmmm, it is October 15 and the hold still shows on my bank account. Seems no one can get their information straight. I had expected it to be reversed on Monday the 9th at the latest as the room had been paid for on the 8th. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. They have held my money on a room that was paid since October 7. Will never use this hotel again and make sure no one else in my family or friends will either. Bad business.......... read more

We booked this hotel for the weekend of my wedding and had a huge amount of people stay here. They could not have been more helpful and accommodating to us and our large party. They ever provided a shuttle to and from the venue for everyone so we didn't need to worry about driving! I want to give a special shout out to Lupe, Shelley, Debbie and Wendy for going above and beyond for our group, they all made our stay amazing and very easy. The rest of the staff was also very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend using this hotel for a large event in Livermore. read more

To begin with, I have stayed here twice. For both stays, I made reservations over the phone because I require an ADA (mobility accessible) room. Both times I got my email confirmation reserving the ADA room. Both times at check in we were given a regular room--even after verbally confirming that the room was ADA. The first time they switched it without any problem. The second time they told us all the ADA rooms were given out. After explaining to the front desk person that they put me in a very tough situation and that staying at this place would be impossible for me, they all of the sudden had an ADA room available for me. The front desk person then explained to me that I needed to specifically request an ADA room when making the reservation. I told them that I did and that the email confirmation states that I reserved a "mobility accessible" room. For some reason the hotel didn't have that information on our reservation. In the end though, I got the room I needed. By the way, it's almost impossible to get a an ADA room at the last minute so I would've had to make due with a regular room which would've been a hardship for me. As for the rooms at this place, they are very small and the carpet on the floor makes it difficult for a wheelchair to roll on. There is a behemoth of a cabinet in the room that takes up a lot of space and obstructs access to and from the bed. The chair in the room is unusable as it is very low and has no armrests. The TV system is weird and not user friendly. The bathroom is generous but there are no hand rails in the shower. The mattresses are VERY firm. There aren't many places to plug your phones, computers, etc. we had to unplug the alarm clock to power one of our devices. Overall, the room doesn't seem well planned out. However, the room was clean, the staff polite, and the location was very convenient for us. With all that said, there is no way we will stay here again. read more

If you are concerned about COVID, it would be best to avoid this hotel. Alameda County Health and safety requirements for guests and staff were not being observed. Cleaning and maintenance staff were not wearing masks as required, nor were the vast majority of guests in common areas. We encountered each of the above multiple times every day. The front desk persons were always masked, but when asked about the staff and guests, one confirmed that they were aware of the requirements and said they would bring it up with management. A maintenance staff employee when asked after seeing them without a mask on multiple days said they knew it was required but were not in compliance. This employee was seen wearing a mask after our discussion which we appreciated. More 'can't miss' signage in the lobby and elevators to remind guests to wear masks in common areas would really help as many guests are from outside Alameda where standards and expectations may differ. read more

They were always there to help where they could! Another plus is that there's a restaurant that shares their parking lot so you don't have to drive to get food. Just ok. I was hoping the place would be nicer. The room looks ok and was fairly clean however the building is clearly older and the toilet paper roll holder was falling apart and there were more cosmetic issues in the bathroom for sure. The breakfast area we didn't even try because the size of the space for breakfast is so tiny for the amount of people in that hotel that it was packed. The receptionist upon arrival was friendly however earlier in the day they had called to see if I wanted a king room versus a double because the hotel was over booked. I said no and they respected that. My friend who was staying there also in a double did not get the same call which was strange. I was hoping to stay here for my upcoming wedding but looks like it is not the best place for that. The curtains were dirty and stained, the floor wasn't cleaned and there was a ball of hair on the bathtub. The shower tiles looked disgusting. When I confronted her, she said that she told me the rate. SHE LIED. SHE NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE RATE. SHE GAVE THE ROOM AS AN UPGRADE AND SHE NEVER EVER MENTIONED THE RATE AT ALL. I even asked my girlfriends which she was with me at the check in time, and she also said that Katlyn never mentioned the rate. If she had, we would not have taken it, never. We ended up staying at the La Quinta Inn next door and it was so much better! Better beds, the fridge and air actually worked and the staff was so welcoming! Same price and same parking lot - definitely go to La Quinta! I'm absolutely disgusted and horrified by the "service" provided to me by this hotel manager. After bringing my trained service animal to stay here and providing a doctor's note, I was verbally harassed by the manager about the service that my dog is trained to provide. I went into far too much detail about my disability and how my service animal helps me live and she still told me that she will not allow my service animal to stay with me and that she would be charging me a pet fee. I ended up canceling my reservation for the second night of my stay and if the manager tries to charge me any kind of pet fee - I'll be contacting my lawyer immediately. Stayed here last October after booking through Priceline.com. I should've listened to the other reviews and just not booked through there. Their system for working with vendors such as priceline.com and hotels.com is HORRIBLE. They didn't have our reservation, so I showed them what I had booked, which they didn't have available. Instead of offering to right a wrong on either the vendor's side or their side, they immediately scoffed and told me the price I paid for my king jacuzzi suite was way too low. The manager wasn't around and instead of being able to contact them immediately to ease my frustration, I was told I could "come back" and discuss it with her. Horrible customer service on their part to not comp us anything and give us a lesser room than what we had paid for, even if it was on a different website. Obnoxious management spoils this otherwise standard-issue Best Western. After noticing more than a dozen people using the hotel pool the previous night, my wife and children swim in the pool -- using the hotel key-card -- around 9:00 the next morning. So far so good. At check-out an hour later the desk manager scolds my wife -- in front of other guests -- that the pool is NOT open for use. When my wife explains that we entered using our hotel-issued key card AND had seen guests swimming the night before (mind you, it was 80 degrees both days), the manager clarifies that the pool-goers must have been the owners' or managers' kids, but that the pool is not open to us mere guests. At this point, already feeling like second-class citizens after paying $129 per night, the manager demands that we hand over the pool towels. Somewhat taken aback, my wife explains that we left the towels in our room, to which the manager angrily replies, "well, you better go up and get them." Was this an episode of Punk'd or Jackass? No! Dumbfounded, my wife goes back to the room, retrieves the towels and hands them to this manager, who offers not one smile or "thank you." Meanwhile I'm standing there in the lobby with our children watching the whole thing unfold, unable to believe my eyes -- in tony Livermore of all places. The accommodations at this Best Western -- room, wi-fi, free breakfast -- are otherwise adequate. But if you expect minimal courtesy from management, I suggest you look into a Best Western in some less-hostile location such as Pyongyang or Tehran. read more

We were given someone else's room, and then given a room that had trash in it. The hotel staff wasn't helpful, and when I tried to speak with a manager on a Saturday morning, I was informed that management wasn't available on the weekends. This seemed crazy yet corresponded with the poor general organization of the hotel. We also learned that other people were given rooms that had already been checked out to people, including a room in which a woman was showering. There are too many other hotels in the area that are similarly priced that have to be run better and more safely. Additionally, I contacted the manager with this complaint. I informed her of my intent to write bad reviews, including on Yelp. She asked that I call before I do this. I took down my Yelp review, couldn't figure out how to take down a couple of others that were identical to the one above. I called her. I heard the person I spoke with say "It's for you", and then I was told that Ms. Lamb would call me back. That didn't happen, and I wasn't surprised. read more
