We checked into the Residence Inn Pleasanton today for a staycation with our 10-month-old, and our experience was made so much better thanks to Sam at the front desk. Our first room turned out to be a bit too noisy, and since it was our baby's first hotel stay, my wife was worried because he was already having a hard time falling asleep. We asked if it would be possible to switch rooms, and Sam was incredibly courteous, patient, kind, and understanding throughout the entire process. He went out of his way to help us move to a much quieter room, which made a huge difference for our family. His genuine care and excellent customer service really stood out and turned what could have been a stressful situation into a great experience. Thank you, Sam, for going above and beyond. I agree with Gayle that this was a solid 3.5 Star experience. We opted for a King Suite with a sofa bed in the other room for the granddaughter. And for what we were looking for and where, the price seemed right. Our bed was comfortable, but our early sleep was somewhat disturbed by the basketball game just outside the window that went on until 10 PM. One of the dresser drawers was also broken, which was only a minor inconvenience. In my opinion, this was small part of perhaps a larger issue of property upkeep which showed other "frayed" examples. The "free hot breakfast" was tasty and with a very nice selection. That was very popular for what seemed to be a full house for the weekend. Hence, seating was sometimes challenging as was the supply (like orange juice) of certain items. We found the hotel to be well located for where we needed to go, although it took a little brain power to figure out where the Lobby entrance was. Once here though, parking was readily available, even in the fuller evening hours. read more

Arrived for a work trip for 4 days and best hotel ever!! I will be back on a normal vacation. Everyone at the front desk was so helpful and so nice. The lobby always has fun things to participate in which is wonderful with great food to communicate and enjoy ourselves. Everything is so clean here! The swimming pool area and the fire pit area was very relaxing and always kept clean. Breakfast options were fantastic and delicious. They have tea, water, and coffee always available to enjoy on your stay. The rooms were perfect and they come in and clean your room and super nice service. You will find yourself seeing turkey walking in the front, which is such a nice sight. The workout room has so many options to get a nice workout in and also 24hours! Feel very safe here too! Im still staying down in the Bay Area for a little longer, but I just moved over here form the Dublin Holiday Inn ... wow, this is way better with a small kitchen in the unit so I can store food and cook a little something for dinner instead of going out all the meals like over at the hotel. This place even serves a hot breakfast buffet. I can tahe food back to my room a nd fix it up bettr than at the buffte, like toasting English muffins and using the sausage patties to mak a sausage Mc muffin kinda thing except with better cheese that I had in the fridge. This location is nice a quite on a quiet frontage road to the 580. I don;t really hear the freeway at all so that's good. Everything in the room works like itshould and it was clean when I moved in with out weird crawly things running amok or stray hairs not of my color. The wifi works so I can do work just fine and even stream Netflix or prime if I want. The staff is friendly and everything seems as it should. I'm glad I moved over here. read more

Booked a little last minute staycation in the East Bay and got a really good rate at this renovated property, and I was pleasantly surprised that the pictures actually matched reality. This was my first time checking-in via the Marriott app, and I was able to check-in the night before and put in my estimated arrival time. They offer a mobile key, which is super convenient. Check-in was at 4, but I arrived around a little after 12 and they were able to get me a room right away. There's plenty of parking so that was not an issue. The studio room had a pretty good sized fridge and nice microwave. The dining table was a bit small but perfect for a solo/double travelers. The couch was far from comfortable but it served its purpose. The bed was actually really comfortable and the bathroom was decent size with a lot of closet space. They had a 50" TV that swivels and it had a lot of apps built-in. I was able to login to Youtube which was super clutch for streaming videos. Overall, if this is a spot I had to stay at for an extended time, I'd be cool with it. It's conveniently located near the freeway, and a short drive away from Downtown Pleasanton and Dublin. Ubers took awhile to get, so if you are planning on using rideshare, plan ahead. The hotel does offer a daytime shuttle that picks up and drops off within a 5-mile radius. read more

It was a pleasure staying at the hotel.. the suites are great for long term business trips. I especially appreciated the full kitchen (with dishwasher!), the big desk, and plenty of plugs/USB ports. It's almost like apartment. The only area where the hotel is seriously lacking is business support...a single printer and computer terminal in an open hallway is pathetic...and far below what I've come to expect from Marriott properties. On top of that, it's not possible, according to the front desk, to attach my own laptop to the printer... I have to log on with that desktop and access my personal or work account to get documents, which presents a security and privacy concern. read more

Me? Going out of my way to review a hotel? This can't be! I would be remiss if I let this particular Residence Inn in Pleasanton's kindness go unrecognized. For starters, they were super accommodating when I called a day in advance to see if I could check in at 8 am instead of my original check in at 4 pm (that's a whopping 8 hours early!) They were super responsive when the HVAC system was making loud noises throughout the day and sent someone to take care of it immediately after I asked. When it came to checking out, they allowed us to leave our luggage for an undetermined amount of time and even let my partner work in their dining area where they proceeded to offer her cookies. The amenities are nice too with free parking and breakfast that was close enough to sustenance as to not be offensive. Additionally, the rooms are all newly renovated and look modern enough with a functioning stove, microwave, sink, and other appliances, silverware, and kitchen supplies. Overall, my stay at this specific Residence Inn far exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of housing in that area of Pleasanton! read more

I had to stay at this hotel for work over an extended period, and unfortunately, my experience ended on a horrible note. While the overall experience was a disappointment, I want to highlight that the front desk employees were great and very kind. During my stay, I had several serious issues. My license plate was stolen one month, my toolbox was broken into another month, and, toward the end of my stay, my car was stolen. What made this worse is that there are no cameras located at the back of the building where I parked, so there was no footage to help track down what happened. I wasn't informed directly about the lack of footage--I had to find out from other long-term guests. I would have appreciated being told by the staff themselves, especially since it was my car that was stolen. Overall, this has been a huge disappointment. If you choose to stay here, I highly recommend parking in the front where there is camera coverage. read more

You have to get it from the front desk. Pool towels are at the front desk. Coffee and creamer are at the front desk. It's just ghetto. And the hallways smell. This a really nice and secluded property. Our room was very nice. Good pool workout facility and breakfast is solid. The main issues are (1) we had blood on our comforter which is gross. And (2) the water pressure is terrible. Almost can't take a shower. It ruins the hotel in my opinion. Just updated my review to 1 star. Down from 2 stars. They charged my card even though I asked them not to and that I would give them another card... Also two times on the visit the milk at breakfast was sour and we got a packet of peanut butter and the bottom was extremely dirty. Again gross. It's too bad. This place is so great. Housekeeping continually skips my room for housekeeping. I'm asked do I want it and I reply yes. Originally I stayed at La Quinta in and there housekeeping came daily. Residence inn at Pleasanton has what I would say a lazy director of Housekeeping how can you not manage when you not even full? I've stayed here now going on 4 weeks because of a house I sold. Honestly I expected something with marriot in its name would be better. I do not recommend Residence inn, retrain your EVS manager get them on a schedule teach them that when a customer spends 209 dollars a day the least the can do is give them fresh towels. read more

We only stayed one night at this hotel for a little staycation for Memorial Day weekend and I have to say they did not disappoint. Ken and Juliet from the front desk made my family and I feel like we're VIPs. I told them my son wanted to swim in the outdoor pool and they made sure to put us in a room close to the pool and the breakfast area! They are friendly and very helpful. I hate giving bad reviews however, I am losing my mind here. I'll start off by saying the staff are super helpful and nice but the people staying here are not. They're loud and inconsiderate 24/7. I had to stay here for two weeks because my house flooded and every. single. day. I was woken up by someone playing basketball at 8 am. I would call the front desk, they would get the person to stop, and then another family would start playing 10 mins later. The court is only supposed to be open from 10am-10pm but the the staff leaves the ball there 24 hours a day. The night before a guest was playing basketball at 11 pm and the night before that a guest was playing at 1 am. The beds are not comfortable, the continental breakfast is not good at all, the bath room lights are Motion sensored only so you'll be left taking a shower in the dark after about 5 minutes. Everything outdated, when I turned the oven on nothing but smoke poured out and it smelled like pure chemicals. THE PARKING SITUATION IS TERRIBLE and the guest park terrible which makes everything 10x worse. This may be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and it's not cheap. I'd rather sleep in my flooded home honestly. read more

Kitchen is stocked with utensils, cooking utensils, plates, etc. The only item the kitchen does not have is the conventional oven( this is for the studio bedroom). The hotel has been renovated. The lobby -breakfast I served is very nice. There are lots of options offered for the self serve breakfast and the food is tasty. We had issues with HVAC SYSTEM; it took awhile for the room to feel warm. They promptly sent maintenance to look into it Occasionally the system is loud in bedroom. Speaking of noise - if you're a light sleeper don't get a room facing the road. The hotel is a good value and rooms meet our expectations. This review is LONG overdue partly because I don't like giving bad reviews to a business that's trying. But now that I think about it, no staff was ever apologetic to our complaints or even tried to resolve it.. My dear friends decided to host their wedding at a nearby wedding venue and decided to book out a room block at this hotel. To my understanding, a room block means that the wedding party stays together and obviously, the bride and groom would get the largest rooms. Because this hotel has separate buildings, I guess the staff decided it would be fun to make the bridal party jump from one building to another. Our rooms were in separate buildings, which would be okay if it were guests of the wedding, but we specifically stated we were in the bridal party and that we needed to stay together. Complete disregard to our requests. Upon arrival, the bride and groom discovered that they actually had the SMALLEST rooms out of anyone in their bridal party. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they said an upgrade was not possible as everything was booked. WHY WERE THEY GIVEN REGULAR ROOMS IN THE FIRST PLACE?! The bride's room was so small that she had to move her things, call her MUAs, etc so that she could get ready in her MOH's room. Think that's the end? Think again!! An hour into the MUAs setting up, doing makeup under hot and bright lights, The AC stops working. I try to adjust the thermostat in a panic because the photographers have arrived and it is ungodly hot. To my dismay, the thermostat is actually broken. I hurriedly call the front desk to send someone to assess the problem. 20 minutes go by and nobody. I call to check if everything is okay and they responded with "oh okay, I'll try again" I guess an apology wasn't necessary. Another 10 minutes go by and I'm forced to call again. After another lame excuse an another 5 minutes, a guy with a tool belt works on the circuit breaker which feels like 30 minutes and reports to me that it's broken. At this point, it's really hard to change rooms again, so he reports that he'll bring a fan. Not the most ideal choice, but it's something. It took him 20 minutes to bring ONE fan. Makeup and other prep was almost done so I didn't even care, I just wanted to get the bride to the venue on time. Oh, did I forget to mention that even though I had a lovely room, I could not get into it. My key stopped working on three separate occasions. Each time resulting me in trekking to the front desk to get a new key. PS; Not a pleasant walk at 1 AM, slightly buzzed. My friend was so frustrated trying to open my door, she accidentally broke the lock. This might have been a blessing in disguise though, because it forced them to take a look at the lock and fix it internally. Two of the bridesmaids were staying with their families so naturally, a few extra things (towels, blankets, etc) are needed. My fellow bridesmaids call the front desk with their requests and are responded back that they need to come to the front desk to get it. This is actually not a problem, but really strange of a higher class hotel to require you to fetch things you need.. The lights are also automated, which is a great energy saver. However, when the light goes out in the middle of your shower..not so great. All I can think is if someone was shaving their hoo-ha..ouch Even though, the rooms were very nice we noticed that the hallways are carpets were dingy and dirty. One building didn't even have an elevator which is not very accommodating. They were having construction going on which means they are on the right track but it wasn't great to look at half painted walls and AC units ripped out.. Okay, end rant. I'm sure I sound like an absolute asshat complaining about anything and everything, but if you've made it this far, I hope you learned some things that would help you have a better stay. Let me start with saying that the staff was very friendly and helpful. Whenever I asked/inquired about something, they were very good about providing whatever it was that I needed. Now .. I was not impressed from the moment I entered the hotel to check in. Walking to the front desk to check in, and over to the right where they serve breakfast daily, was towels laid all over the tables. Apparently that's their laundry folding area in the evening. Check in was relatively quick and smooth. Entering the room, it gave me a dingy vibe. With this being in Pleasanton, CA (the Bay Area), I expected a more clean, polished look. You will not get that from this hotel. After my first night, I head to the main building to get some breakfast. The breakfast area was HORRENDOUS. Used cups of pancake mix all over the counter, used plates , bread crumbs, and used utensils laid all over and out of place. Words really cannot do the scene much justice. I was absolutely shocked at how dirty the breakfast area was and the fact that none of the staff came out to check and clean/maintain the area. The pots maintaining the food was empty for extended periods of time as there was a line of people standing around for a while waiting for a staff member to restock. I've never seen a Marriott maintained like this; and I stay at Marriott's quite often as it's my favorite hotel brand. Will most definitely not stay here ever again. DO NOT STAY HERE Let my tale be a warning for future travelers: My wife was exposed to COVID so I let her quarantine at home and took our 12-yr-old and I to this hotel for 3 days until she got her PCR test. The fire alarm went off 4 times in the first 48 hrs, including at 10pm, 1am and 7am. We were told the fire panel was broken. It added enormous stress to an already stressful situation. I checked out, moved all of our stuff to another hotel, and demanded a refund for the 3rd night and at least 1 of the 2 nights I had stayed there. They only refunded me for the 3rd night, saying "we provided services" for the first 2 nights. They offered one comp night, but this is a single-location franchise, so that's obviously worthless to most people, especially those who live here. I pleaded with the manager and the general manager, and they were honestly confused that I expected to be refunded for a hotel that wakes you up throughout that night with fire alarms because "we provided services". read more

My family and I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott recently and am pleased to report that the property and room were clean and quiet with beautifully renovated decor. We had a wonderful time playing in the clean pool and hot tub. The breakfast was plentiful and had a full selection of all the usual morning items (both sweet and savory). While I can continue positively reviewing the facilities, this review is more for a particular front office manager at the location -- Kerri K. There was a bit of an accidental miscommunication about our family pet when we first reserved the booking (through an online service). During the stay, I spoke with Kerri to explain what had happened. Not only was she courteous, friendly, and understanding; she resolved the no-fault mishap on the booking immediately. Because of the great customer experience that Kerri provided, we will definitely continue to seek out Residence Inns on future trips. Thanks for the fantastic experience Kerri! read more

Generally, you can count on any Marriott being at least a decent quality property- that was not the case with this Residence Inn. We arrived around 1am from a long day of traveling ready to rest our heads and get a good night's sleep, and I pull back the covers on the bed and a big spider jumped out from beneath the blankets. Not the best welcome, but I get it, spiders are hard to prevent. The next morning I left for work and noticed in the light just how gross the carpeting was and the stench of dog filling the hallways. My partner worked from the hotel room all day and when I returned home from work around 7pm I found him miserable with red, itchy eyes. He had been sneezing all day from the amount of pet dander in the room. We were scheduled to be at the hotel for 4 nights but immediately called to switch to a different hotel. We hadn't even been there for 24 hours at this point. The hotel staff said there was nothing they could do for us and that if we checked out we would be charged the full price for that night. Since we weren't just going to forfeit $220 we stuck in out another night. We placed a complaint with Marriott guest services and they said the manager at the hotel would contact us about our experience within 24-72 hours, but it's been 3 days now and we haven't heard a peep. Love Marriott, but avoid this property! The full service Marriott across the street is 100x better and not much more expensive. read more

This is my favorite place to stay when on business or causal trace to see family. My room is well Anointed and clean. They are wise to include a lot of outlets for charging batteries and such. The room has a full kitchen and a dishwasher and enough plates and such for 2-3 people. The gym is a bit spartan similar to must hotels. A Set of tread mills and ellipticals a set of dumbbells and Bench. A must ding them for not having an AED. IMO that's a must. Breakfast was great fruit, cereal eggs meats. In town for business and this property was close to the client site. The young lady behind the counter was extremely pleasant and checked to ensure that my room was feather-free as it was in my profile. She asked that I wait for about 5 minutes to housekeeping could double-check just to make sure. No worries I decided to read up on the renovations they were under. It appears that they are remodeling (at that point), the lobby area, which based on what I saw is going to be beautiful when done. She told me that it was only going to be noisy during the day so I would not have to worry about hammering, sawing, etc at night. She also informed me of Social hour in the evening with burgers (even veggie), beer and wine. Once I was cleared to go to my room, I had to leave the lobby and drive around the corner to my room, which is typical Residence Inn. In the courtyard is a pool, which I could see from my window so the view was not bad. The room was extremely nice and I could tell it had recently be renovated as it had that new smell to it. I unpacked, worked for a while and finished in time for the social hour. The staff during social hour was extremely pleasant and the food not too bad. There were veggie burgers, some meat for the carnivores, vegetables, fruit and dipping sauce. There was also beer and wine. The evening was very nice and I appreciated the Residence Inn doing this for guest. Overall, customer service was excellent; social hour was great and the property will look fabulous when done. Shocked is the only word I can use to describe how I felt after 4 days at this hotel. I based my stay there primarily on how many positive reviews there were on Yelp as well as other travel sites. I have so much to say but will try to break it down into pro's and con's. PRO'S: The rooms are HUGE! Like bigger than some apartments I have lived in before. The price was cheap. It's a business hotel so weekends the place is a ghost town. Location was great, next to a mall for food and BART for travel. CON'S: NO HOT WATER! That's right. Luke warm at best and the staff claim there is nothing wrong. Look around at the hidden reviews for this place and on other websites. Not the first person to complain about this issue this year. TV sucked. All the channels were fuzzy or digitally messed up. No paper towels or napkins despite having a full kitchen. That was a first for me. Paper thin walls. Heard my neighbor the entire stay. Who knew one man could watch so much porn!? No blankets on the bed? Two sheets and some sort of decorative bed runner, but no comforter or blankets. Weird right? Wi-Fi kept booting you off and making you re-agree to the Marriott wi-fi policy. Every 30 mins or so. Very frustrating when you're there on a staycation trying to get work done. And maybe the thing that chaps my hide the most? The manager is a bold faced liar. I pre-paid this reservation and had forgot my credit card at home (I only live 8 miles from this place) and asked if I could just do a cash deposit for incidentals. He said no, which is cool, but then said it was a very strict Marriott policy. Sir, I have stayed at other Marriott's across the country and even in the same area code and have used a cash deposit before. Also seemed like homeless families were living in these rooms as some were smoking dope in the parking lot. One family was cooking something that had a strong curry smell permeating the hallway which isn't the hotels fault but made me think some sort of subsidized housing was being provided to these guests. I booked this hotel for my wedding this past weekend . I quickly got in touch with their booking coordinators Lisa and Kristin who helped me set up blocked rooms and rate . The rate was reasonable. They have a link where our guests can easily book through our discount . The difference was about $60 , if you were to book not using our discount , which was a big difference . They were both accommodating and responded to my emails on a timely matter . The check in time was at 4pm , but they were able to accommodate our guests if they had checked in early . The front staff and housekeepers were very nice and accommodating to our needs . The rooms were spacious. They had complementary breakfast. We DoorDash a couple of times and the front desk was very nice to let us know it's there to pick up . The only cons I had was the rooms were outdated , but I believe they're renovating them . Also , they had no staff to help us with our luggage. We had to push the luggage cart down the hallway , which were so hard to navigate . I had a job interview nearby so the company set me up here. The room was paid for so I can't say how great of a value the hotel is but the room was quite nice. I was only there for a night, which I spent mostly sleeping so I didn't really tinker with the kitchen amenities. The room was super clean, the toiletries were Paul Mitchell, and the shower's water pressure was great. The bed was also comfortable enough and not lumpy or unsupportive like many hotel beds. The service I experienced was also great. I checked in around 11 PM and the lady at the front desk, I believe her name was Geeta, was super friendly and was great about answering questions about my stay. Additionally, I was dumb and accidentally left a suit in the closet when I checked out but housekeeping had it for me when I came back. If I ever needed to stay at a hotel in Pleasanton again, I'd definitely come back to the Residence Inn. read more

DONT STAY HERE. Save yourself the grossness! I stay in Marriotts all the time. I'm a loyal Marriott member. Marriott needs to shut this hotel down until they do some serious renovations. There was shit in the hallway when I arrived. The sink cabinet was completely broken and when I went to open it, it fell off and hit and bruised my leg. The floors, and furniture are nasty. Very outdated and gross. Old TVs with only 8 channels. Noisy fridge, noisy air conditioning, noisy hallway. Walls are thin. You can hear neighboring guests talking. When you try to use the phones multiple people start answering in the middle of your conversation. They don't have enough staff on duty to provide basic service. This place is seriously a disgrace to Marriott. Marriott you need to shut this place down and completely rehaul it and the staff. read more

Had a fantastic stay here for 3 days and 2 nights for a Queen Studio with Sofa Bead. I believe that they serve breakfast (at earliest) around 6/6:30 AM-9/9:30 AM. There are no reservations needed for the gym and pool. The gym is open 24 hours and the pool closes at 9 PM. The room we got was relatively clean. While we checked in, the front desk was very helpful and kind and was able to provide us a map for our room's destination. Prior coming, we reserved the room online and was able to check in earlier (they asked for us to provide them a valid ID and credit card used for our online transaction). We were told that there were renovations going on, but everything was working fine. We were disappointed that the TV only provided cable channels, but you get what you pay for :') Would definitely recommend! read more

Place is clean and nice. I like the rooms. Very nice suite. I am giving the. Only 2 stars because I found a stain on the sofa seat when I was getting the sofa bed ready for my kids to sleep. The stain was turned upside down. I was frustrated when I saw that all day my kids and I have been sitting on that seat. I told the lady at the front desk and she said she will replace it the next morning. I got nothing next morning so I called and reminded front desk and she said yes she did get the message and she will send someone up right away. Few hours later no one shows up. I called and reminded yet again and she said she is sending them again. I am still waiting. Spending 3 nights here without a seat on the sofa. was here for work for a few days in the East Bay. Centrally located for me place was clean and super convenient wit all the amenities of home, microwave stove oven fridge even a dishwasher. Ay least it give some feeling a normal life when on the road and you don't have to throw away your leftovers. Staff was super friendly and helpful with local food recommendation, pool are looked clean organized and was being used by a lot of guests, they have small event a couple nights a weeks to get you to socialize with other guests and free food. the stay includes breakfast ever morning I really have nothing to complain about except the traffic in the area and that's not the hotels fault. You will be hard pressed to find a better deal in the area read more

The hotel needs serious attention. My AC was broken the first night and it was 81 degrees in the room. The hairdryer is broken and the door is broken. I have been here several times over the past three years and it gets worse every trip. During the winter, there were buckets in the hallways collecting water. That was not nice either! The staff is fantastic - always, and I feel bad for them, as they are on the front lines listening to customer complaints and taking the heat for a mess that the Marriott corporation should address. The management team has said the hotel is going to be renovated for the past three years. As of 2018 - no rooms have been renovated. The couches and chairs in the rooms have holes in the fabric and the pleather covering on the chairs is severely worn exposing frame of the chair. The wood furniture is chipped and the veneer is missing on the desk and table. Once again, the staff is the reason I return to the hotel. They greet me by name and they are more than accommodating! I hope this post gets the attention of the Marriott corporation, because the many surveys I have submitted gone unaddressed. read more

We stayed here the night of Valentine's day... instead of going out to dinner with the fixed-course meals, we decided to cook, but didn't want to cook at home with parents there... lol... so, we found this place with a kitchen... We booked a studio (we paid $100), and they were so nice to upgrade us to a one-bedroom suite (which is actually the same size)... but the door to the bedroom really makes a difference, cos the fridge is so loud... Anywayz, the suite was not very big, about 550 square feet (including living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom)... but it was comfortable enough... our window looks down to the pool, which is nice... the stove heat was hard to control, so we ended up overcooking our valentine's day dinner (lamb rack and seared scallops)... but it should be ok with just normal daily meals... but no oven :( The room seems clean, bed was comfortable, liens smells clean... Living room area was comfortable, we invited a couple friends over to hang out after dinner, decent sitting space for 4... bathroom was not impressive, but ok. Complementary breakfast in the morning... food was ok, but fast, simple and easy... line was long though... and finding a table might not be easy... (they were fully booked on valentine night)... but while we left our table to make waffle (took us a long time, cos line was long), they cleaned our table and threw away our personal stuffs (and uneaten food)... there needs to be a sign to let them know if ppl are done with their table or not... Up side, they were very flexible with the check-out time, Sweet~~~ we check out at 3pm, so after breakfast, we get to go back to sleep and sleep in until 2pm... Overall, nice~~~ i would recommend... some other hotels claim they are 3-star, but this is a true 3-star plus... read more

Stayed here for a wedding. The only good thing about this place is that it's close to Bart and the mall. I ended up walking there from Bart because I'm used to walking.. but upon arrival I saw that they had a shuttle van. Not sure where it picks up because they don't do shuttle service to the airports, but I didn't see any information online about a shuttle. It would've been nice to be picked up from the station. And yes, the mall is walking distance, but it's not entirely pedestrian friendly. And it would be unbearable to walk on a hot day. Luckily for me it wasn't hot that day. So I booked the 2-bedroom suite the moment the bride and groom sent notice about the room blocks, which was around 4 months ago. The hotel told the bride they would save the suite for the bridal party, to which I was a part of. And I had checked in with the mobile app the day before, stating I would check in at noon. I know sometimes they can't honor that, but I knew over half of the property was blocked for the wedding. So I figure they'd have one ready. They didn't when I checked in at 1pm. And when I came back around 4pm, which is the designated time for checking in, service was so SLOW! There was only one woman working the front desk, and there really should've been two. All hands should be on deck during the designated check in time. Many of the people checking in were part of the bridal party, tired from traveling (some as far as Italy and the UK), and we were on a time crunch for the rehearsal. I didn't have time to get my suitcase they held for me because I had to be at the rehearsal. Luckily I had done my makeup, but I couldn't refresh it, and I couldn't bring my purse because it was in my suitcase! I traveled with a large backpack, so I just ended up just taking my phone to the rehearsal and dinner. And the rooms... oy. Not only outdated, but just in terrible condition. The lamp shades had stains and wrinkles on them. The innards of the sofa cushion spilled out because the zipper was broken. And the sofa bed was not comfy at all. Plus, part of the sofa bed that held the mattress was broken, so it didn't provide a lot of support. The drain in the bathroom sink was slow, and the tubs needed a deeper clean. Plus, the knobs for the showers needed a lot of force to turn them off. The hallways smelled like cigarette smoke, and the suite smelled funky too. My biggest issue is that the suite was on the first floor. I'm a Marriott rewards member, and my preferences have always been high floor. I'm pretty sure they have suites on higher floors, and it's disappointing they didn't provide that, especially knowing that the room block is for the bridal party. The free breakfast provided was ok. I'm surprised they didn't have oatmeal. But I did like the scrambled eggs and meat choices. And I do like they had little packets of Nutella for toast and waffles. My family stays in Marriott hotels almost exclusively. My parents are Elite members, and I'm on my way to becoming one myself. So I have high expectations for this company and all their different brands bearing their name. Considering the amount of guests the newlywed couple had and the proximity to Bart and the venue, the Residence Inn was the best choice they could make. However, this hotel failed them. And this is the second time a Marriott hotel didn't meet my expectations. The first one was the JW in LA, one if their elite brands. Also, the cookies in the lobby weren't chocolate chip. Thursday ... our last night at this amazing oasis. Highly recommended for families. We were able to get the dual master again which is needed for our family size. Omg ... the people there were very helpful in terms of the extra items needed for the kids, to go breakfast boxes with goodies for the kids, free breakfast daily and dinner from monday to Wednesday, really the list can go on. The maids were extra helpful putting the dishes in the dishwasher for me as the kids were having meltdowns. Thankful for this gateway. Treasuring the memories. read more

I love the Residence Inns for one reason alone. Price. Oh and size. Ok, that's two reasons. This is a standard Residence Inn. We got a two bedroom suite the size of a small apartment for $159. Our room was nice, clean, and relatively new (except for the tubs, which I thought was weird). The beds were quite comfortable and there were flat screens in the bedrooms and living room. Full kitchen. It was perfect for a family of 4. Breakfast was included and a great selection of cereals, eggs, waffles. Small breakfast room though, and it was packed. Very small pool. Pet friendly. Now, I have a dog. I would even call myself a dog lover. However, this hotel, being dog friendly, needs to seriously pick up the poo. People suck and don't pick up their dogs' mess. Which is lame. Come on...if you are lucky enough to find a nice pet friendly establishment, please pick up your dang dog poo!!!!! It was EVERYWHERE around the property. Ick. I had to keep my kids off the grass! Ok. Done venting. It still gets 3 stars. read more

During our recent stay in November, our parked vehicle was struck by a hit and run vehicle. We were inside the hotel at the time and of course, the suspect vehicle didn't leave a note. We knew the incident had taken place during a 3 hour window and believed we could remedy the problem by getting video footage from the front desk. We were very disappointed to learn this hotel had no security cameras covering their parking lots! This is outrageous and a true safety risk, in today's current climate with increasing crime. It is shameful that a Marriott property would be lacking in this vital areal especially with it's adjacent location to 680 freeway. The hotel manager had me complete an incident report for his hotel; which resulted in nothing for us. The hotel itself is average at best, an older property with partial renovation. read more

The worst mattress I have ever slept on. Guy at front desk ask if I need a new comforter. It's not the comforter it's the old mattress that you can feel the springs it's completely sunk in. Don't come to this hotel.. I'm a platinum elite member with Marriott rewards. I stay at hotels all the time and have never had this experience. read more
