Adj: a no nonsense hotel in the heart of East Bay…read more On a short vacation, we stayed at La Quinta by Wyndham Dublin - Pleasanton. It's in a pretty nice part of East Bay so we did not anticipate any problems and it was a good stay. This hotel was quite peaceful and quiet for being pretty full on the one night we stayed. Staff were friendly, we did not have much interactions with any of them. The young man at check-in seemed a bit nonchalant and not the most courteous, but he ended up placing us in a large accessible room and the beds were a little bigger or at least taller and the shower being accessible was actually really nice b/c it was spacious and the water did NOT go all over the place, thankfully. On the next morning, we always look forward to fueling up. Breakfast was plentiful although a meat-based sausage was missing and desired over the veggie sausage rounds that were served. At least there were hard boiled eggs instead of egg substitutes type of scrambled eggs or "egg omelet" made with fake eggs (Holiday Inn Express' specialty, bleh). There were even biscuits w/gravy and country fried potatoes. I didn't try the biscuits, but I did have a bit of gravy over a bit of potatoes and over a couple of those veggie sausages that didn't taste too bad. However, I know the veggie sausages are probably made w/some soy protein isolates and who knows what other interesting ingredients, so even though they tasted almost real, I only had a couple of them. Interestingly, they also had bean & cheese burritos and guacamole for breakfast, and my kids really enjoyed them. I really like the guac myself. Of course the DIY waffle bar was a hit with everyone, there was quite a queue for that waffle maker. We liked the variety of choices at breakfast and that it was a hot breakfast with many items of all kinds. So generally a good breakfast, the staff refilling it was efficient and friendly. The breakfast area was pretty hot though, need a couple of fans to make up for the open area where the air conditioning ends up cooling the 1st floor but the 2nd floor was quite warm. A couple other notes: the fitness center was bigger and had more equipment than expected so that was nice, but the machines were older and off brand, though they worked well enough. We didn't use the pool and spa, but they looked a little bit dirty but upon closer look, it's that the surface of the pool and spa have been discolored and probably not dirty Overall, it was a good short stay here and we'd come back for another stay, as this La Quinta was ok, not the best, but plenty good enough.

Pros: - spacious entrance lobby and nice staircases, kind of "grand" looking - room was pretty clean, just importantly the beds were very clean - accessible room was extra spacious, not sure why we got that but nicely appointed - beds were firm but still comfortable - hot breakfast was quite a spread, missed real meat vs veggie sausage rounds, but the waffle maker was a hit with the kids. - multiple kinds of non dairy and dairy milk plus several juices, I enjoyed the guava especially Cons: - 2nd floor hallway and the breakfast area was warm. Bc all the AC coolness of the open space meant it all went to the ground floor. - a little bit worn in certain areas of the bedroom, just normal wear and tear, nothing serious but shows the hotel was definitely remodeled but at least a few years back. All in all, a more than adequate and pretty good stay. We will probably stay here again.

The mattress was hella soft I thought I was on a cloud. Smart TV, kitchen and bathroom was on point. Plus, you get a mini-fridge and microwave, which is clutch when you're not trying to eat out every night. Pro tip: If you're staying for a few days, ask for a room facing the hills -- you'll get a beautiful slice of that golden NorCal sunset every evening. Free breakfast every morning with plenty of options: eggs, sausage, waffles (yes, they got the DIY waffle station), fruit, yogurts, and even almond milk for the dairy-free crowd. They have a washer and dryer and this was so needed for a long trip. They provide you with free tide soap. It's $7 total to wash and dry. The service was so good. The lady who is like a host during breakfast was so kind!! She knows her regular customers. She's like a house mom. lol. She will go out of her way to make sure you're comfortable. The breakfast was on point and they serve bacon strips during the week. I really love it's close to the freeway. This is a must when I am in town!!!!

Disappointing Experience - Poor Service and Room Conditions…read more I had a very frustrating experience with both the hotel's service and room conditions. 1. Poor Front Desk Responsiveness After checking out, I realized I had left behind my extended MacBook cable and charger. I called the front desk that evening, but the night shift representative put me on hold for 15 minutes without returning. I called a second time and was again placed on hold for another 20 minutes while they supposedly checked the logbook and Lost & Found, but no one ever came back on the line. On my third call, I was told a note would be left for housekeeping and that I should call back the next morning. When I did, I was simply told nothing had been reported and the case was closed. This process was extremely inefficient and a complete waste of time. There was no follow-up, accountability, or real effort to assist. 2. Poor Room Air Quality In addition, the room's air quality was very poor. Although I don't typically have allergies, I woke up the first night with an itchy throat, runny nose, and sneezing. The symptoms were bad enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. I had to turn off the air conditioning to feel better, which made the room uncomfortably stuffy. As a result, I did not get a good night's sleep and had to purchase allergy medication the next day. Overall Between the lack of customer service and the uncomfortable room conditions, this stay did not meet basic expectations. I hope the hotel improves both staff responsiveness and room maintenance moving forward.

I really enjoyed having a kitchenette in the room with plates, utensils, pots, a pan, etc. We went to Safeway to purchase items to cook on the stove or in the microwave, and they were easy to use. The ladies at the front desk were nice at check in and were helpful with getting what I needed for laundry. The laundry room was easy to use as well- $2.75 for the washer, $2.75 for the dryer, and 1.65 to purchase laundry detergent from the front desk. I loved this convenience as well to not pack as much. Overall, a great place to stay in Livermore!

Parking was easy and accessible. Once we were settled, our room was clean and spacious, located on the third floor away from the elevator, which kept things quiet. However, within a few minutes , the front desk told us was told that there was no staff for it. A lot of the ice machines were out and not working and also I hope they get the refrigerator in the café area checked. The first morning that we had breakfast there I went and grabbed yogurt for our daughter, and I realize that the yogurt lids were not properly sealed, so I threw it away, and I grabbed a new one only to discover it had the same problem. Then I noticed some of the yogurt was doming like they were fermenting. It was brought to the attention of the staff and they threw away yogurt. Then the next day, my husband grabbed a milk out of that same refrigerator and it was completely bad well before expiration date. Again, let staff know but it sounds like they definitely need a thermometer in that refrigerator and that refrigerator should be replaced. The hotel overall is really nice and the staff is really nice. I just think it's interesting that things are not well managed or well maintained.

Not sure what the issue is, every other Hilton send me the digital key ahead of time, but they can't get it done. Rooms are nice, pretty new and in good shape Every one is really nice, employees are pleasant and helpful I stay here 4-5 times a year, and enjoy it, just wish they could get the digital key thing figured out
