From the moment I walked in it didn't feel like a business it feels like ur going to someone's place to hang out. The service is incredible our waitress Courtney was so friendly, she is knowledgeable of the menu, she provided wonderful recommendations, which I love. N the food OMG the Food is definitely the star of the show. I love how the kitchen is set up almost like an apartment kitchen. The drinks are beautiful tasting and pack a punch. Just an all around great experience. And ai havent even gotten to the DJ that gave me a birthday shout out while playing great music. And the owner was kind enough to snap a photo with me. Just the best experience and dont short yourself when u go get the deviled eggs and thank me later!!!!!!!!

Besties Table!!!! Yall did yall thing! Loved everything and will be back! The ambiance is perfect! The r&b music that plays has you wanting to sing along to every tune! I ordered The Blueberry Boss drink and it was super cute!!!! I couldn't get over it! And taste really good!!! My husband loves a good mule and ordered their version. I'm not a mule drink lover but I thought this mule was the best one I've tasted! Then for food we ordered: -gumbo grits: amazing! Came out piping hot and topped with shrimp and gumbo. Would love some sweet honey cornbread to go with it! -French toast flight: seriously the best French toast I've ever ordered. It was thick without being dry and didn't have any mushy inside. -lemon honey wings: so good! Never thought of lemon pepper and honey together but it works! I will definitely be back to try the biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles! This is a great spot to come solo, with friends, or a cute brunch date! We got there at 8:45am on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away.

My family planned a visit to Besties Table for a Sunday Funday, and overall it was a decent experience! We anticipated a wait (about an hour). Once seated, it took a little while for our server to greet us, but when she did, she was pleasant and walked us through the menu. We did have to ask for a drink menu, and our beverages took about 20-25 minutes to arrive, which was a bit of a delay but again totally expected that for a newer spot still finding its rhythm. The food came out in waves, and we ordered a variety: honey hot wings, lemon bay wings, chicken and waffles, French toast, gumbo grits, and biscuits and gravy. The flavors were really good! The only hiccup was the shrimp in the gumbo, which seemed a bit overcooked, so we sent it back. We weren't able to order a replacement dish and didn't get much context around that, other than it would take away from other customers, not really sure what that meant. The R&B playlist was a great touch and added to the atmosphere, though at times it was a little hard. All in all, the potential here is there. The food was good and the portions were solid. Most of the challenges we experienced felt like normal growing pains for a newer restaurant, and I'm sure they'll smooth things out as they continue to settle in. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back in a few months to see how they grow. Pros: Great-tasting food, good portion sizes, friendly staff Cons: Delays with food and drinks, ran out of some items (deviled eggs), could benefit from food runners and a better sound system

We just heard about Bestues Table today, it's been opened for 3 weeks. It has great seating both counter and tables. The shrimp and grits and chicken wings are phenomenal!!! Drawbacks-limited parking -and we had to wait an hour to get water. They did bring us complimentary chicken wings-again phenomenal!! I highly recommend. They close at 2:30 pm

My husband and I came here for breakfast. We were unsure if they were kid friendly so we asked and they are! They had a high chair for our son. The staff were very friendly and quick. We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer which were super delicious- creamy and flavorful. You don't often think of deviled eggs for breakfast but it worked. I got the chicken and waffles and my husband got the French toast flight. I enjoyed the flavor and crispiness of the wings. My husband really enjoyed the French toast as well. The coffee was good and they provide water carafes for the table. I enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere so I will go back.

Food and Drink: Had The Besties' Table for brunch yesterday (Saturday)! A wonderful new spot for Indianapolis with high-quality food that DELIVERS! Our table started out with the lemon bay wings and the besties deviled eggs. At first bite....I could the wings were seasoned and THEY WERE WONDERFUL! Lightly glazed and not overly messy nor sticky, full of flavor and FRESH, very CRISPY! The deviled eggs were also flavorful. We had our topped with bacon but I wish we would have went with the shrimp (as my main dish came with bacon). At this point my expectations were high! My main dish was the All American version of the Biscuits & Gravy. Hands down the best biscuits I've ever had!!!The biscuits were fluffy, the bacon was seasoned, potatoes crispy, the eggs were soft and also fluffy, and the gravy....PHENOMENAL! You could taste the hearty southern flavor throughout the dish....the gravy sealed the deal! To drink, I had the Blueberry Boss - it was sooooo good! I'm a sucker for sweet drinks so this was up my alley. It wasn't overly strong and was a wonderfully styled drink. All of their drinks looked good on the menu so I would get this again or try a different drink! I cannot wait to revisit again!!! Customer Service: Ari was our waitress and she was a joy! We were checked on us consistently and she was never overbearing. She was knowledgeable of the grand opening menu and was able to provide great recommendations based on what previous customers had enjoyed. She provided great service and I look forward to having her in the future! Ambiance: This place is lively! Everyone is free to come as they are, but I would tell anyone to show up for brunch vibes! There was a DJ during my visit and the place was rocking with R&B and hip-hop while everyone was enjoying their meals. This place is perfect for a small get together (party of 4 or 6 max). I had a wonderful first visit and look forward to introduce friends, family and fraternity brothers in the future! Thank you Besties table!!

This is a cute space. The food was delicious and our server was super sweet! We were seated, served drinks, and fed within 45 mins. We decided to go on a Wednesday to celebrate my birthday. Parking was the only challenge we had, the parking lot of a little small. I was able to circle and grab a spot of someone leaving. Overall I would go back. I'll be excited to see when/if they expand the menu.

As long as you do not mind the wait and the parking, the food was absolutely delicious! As a startup, you have to be patient with the kinks but I would highly recommend and plan to be back! We sat at the bar table, which was nice but was a tad crowded. One less chair would probably get the job done. However the food, the service was spot on.

Worth every second of the hour wait time!!! I can see them quickly outgrowing this cozy cute space! The Bestie's Table was packed when we arrived, but the time passed quickly as you get acquainted with your new "besties" you're waiting next to by the front door. It was raining when we went, so waiting outside wasn't an option, lol. But DJ Rubyana had the hits playing! FYI: You have THREE minutes to check in once they call you. Ari was our server and she was FABULOUS! Although, she delivered some bad news as we were settling in... They were out of deviled eggs! I was SO heartbroken. BUT my girl pulled through! About 10 minutes later she came back and said she could slide an order to us! The Bacon and Chives Deviled Eggs were delicioussss! I can see why they were sold out! The Lemon Bay Chicken wings... Also, A MUST! They are crispy, seasoned perfectly, and arrived hot. I ordered the All-American Biscuits & Gravy. The biscuits were smothered in flavorful turkey sausage gravy topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, and (crispy) breakfast potatoes. The portion size was generous. Circling back to our server, Ari... she was personable, friendly, and attentive throughout our dining experience! The experience at The Bestie's Table was 9/10. As for any new restaurants, they are still working out the kinks, please give them grace. Parking can be hectic, but I can't wait to return once the full menu is released!

I see I'm first to review, so I must make it good. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Located just off the west end of the University of Indianapolis ( U of I ) on Shelby Street just south of Hannah AVE. I first learned of Besties from the Travelingfoodieguyde on IG and he gave rave reviews. I had to check it out for myself. That all said, we visited Besties on Easter morning at noon and the parking lot was full and so was the restaurant. 45min wait for a table but immediate seating at the counter which we took. The help staff makes you feel welcomed, appreciated and like you're family. The one thing I liked was that the place had a feel or atmosphere like you're visiting an out of town place. Beautifully decorated with warm colors, lighting, different whatnots on shelves like the 'Breakfast Bible' and other things. You could see the owner chef Tyler William's in the back directing and orchestrating what chefs do. His oldest brother and mother apart of the staff to make all things come together for good! One TV screen mounted close towards the kitchen area ran the news while the one closest to the entrance had nice gospel music playing. A nice touch for a Sunday morning for sure. The food was so so good, no great! The lady who sat next to me told me that we may have to wait a bit for our food but it'll be well worth the wait and she told no lie. It was fantastic! I'm one who doesn't eat red meat or pork, so to have my favorite biscuits with turkey gravy, 2 eggs scrambled with potatoes was delicious! The eggs were so light and airy, the gravy was a nice consistency, great tasting biscuits and the potatoes had steam coming from them like I've never seen before and they were of a soft, yet slight crisp skin and seasoned well. My wife had the Belgian Waffle since French Toast was sold out. She loved the waffle as did I enjoy my dish. We both also had a couple of cocktails as we waited for our meal. My wife enjoyed a Mogul Mule while I had the best Old Fashioned I've ever had in my 69yrs on this planet! As I told Cierra who served us and made my drink before me, "all I needed was a good Cuban cigar to go along with this drink." People were consistently coming in while we were there and it was around 2pm guest entering were told what wasn't available on the menu but they could still be seated if that was okay, but at 2:15 pm guest entering were told they couldn't be accommodated, apologized to and asked to please come back again. It is my understanding this was like the first week of full business and it was a huge success and from a personal opinion, I think, feel, believe and hope they'll succeed exceedingly and abundantly beyond all expectations, which leads to maybe a larger location. I'm really expecting great things from Besties Table Breakfast and Brunch. Will I be back? ABSOLUTELY! I see visiting this establishment weekday mornings, and if you plan to make a weekend visit, go early and enjoy the atmosphere and esthetics of the restaurant, you may even see a notable celebrity, public figure or professional athlete as I did. Also I got an order of the much talked about lemon wings to go and they were fantastic, even the next day! Much success and blessings to Tyler, family and staff in this endeavor!

Shrimp grits gumbo and biscuit with gravy

Went for brunch and checked in at 1145a. The hostess told me hour. Hours lasted got seated . Waitress asked for our drink orders then came B back 10mins without drinks asked were we ready to order out entree. We place our food order waited another 15mins and our drinks finally came. Waited another 15 minutes for our entree. Total of hour to receive food. We ordered chicken waffle, shrimp and grits gumbo, and biscuit and gravy. My friends said the waffle , biscuits and chicken were good. The shrimp and grits gumbo was not to my liking. They were runny and shrimp was overcooked So I asked for another entree and they told me no kitchen is closed but in another new shrimp. I declined and was Very disappointed. I've waited 2 hours with no food and bad customer.

I definitely appreciated that they weren't constantly approaching me, but they read my cues with knowing when I was ready to order or needed something. I was really pleased with the service that I received. The menu had a mixture of American comfort food as well as classic Southern dishes. I took several glances at the food other were ordering and they all looked so appealing and appetizing. I decided to order something that I haven't tried anywhere else, so I ordered the Southern Shakshuka, which is their own unique spin-off to the original. The meal comprised of a base of creamy cheesy grits topped with a somewhat rich layer of roasted tomatoes and vegetables and poached eggs. OMG it was amazing and so flavorful! You walk in already knowing -- whoever built this, built it with love. Arlene's delivered on that promise from the first bite. I started with the Shakshuka -- a beautiful, layered meeting of flavors that moved the way good food should: with intention. Each bite felt considered, balanced, like everyone in that kitchen genuinely cared. But then came the key lime pie. That texture? Smooth like a promise. Buttery in a way that makes you close your eyes and go somewhere else entirely. The crust held its ground with just the right density before giving way in the most satisfying ratio your teeth have ever experienced. And that mascarpone topping -- cool, pillowy, finished with flaky sea salt that hit like punctuation at the end of a very good sentence. It didn't just taste good. It tasted true. Arlene's, I'll be back sooner than is probably reasonable. And I'm bringing people who deserve to feel what I felt. Sincerely, Your Newest Lover

Same great staff, same cool space, same open kitchen where a party of one like me can grab a counter seat and watch the chefs do their thing. I've honestly always enjoyed that part of the experience. Today I had the avocado toast with feta and an egg on top, and it totally hit the spot. Earlier this week I tried one of the newer menu items -- fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a sample of jalapeño cornbread and Asian slaw. Incredible comfort food. And as someone who normally isn't much of a slaw person, I was surprised by how much I loved it. They also tried to tempt me with the roast beef special, which honestly looked great, but at 10:30 in the morning I just couldn't fully commit to roast beef yet. Maybe next time. The new name is a nice tribute to the owner's mother, Arleen, but thankfully it still feels like the Milktooth so many of us have come to enjoy over the years. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been in awhile.

I waited a bit long before I was greeted with a menu, waited awhile with an empty glass, waited with my food pushed away before it was cleared. No one asked if everything was okay even though most of my food was untouched. The food... my salad (house greens) was a great little salad! I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery. They remained in front of me, uncleared, even after I closed my tab. They did not smell good. I don't anticipate being sick but I do anticipate being hungry.

My waiter was incredibly warm and took the time to explain the day's dishes in detail. I ordered the Brussels Sprouts and a drink, and both arrived in just a few minutes. The sprouts were perfectly prepared and very satisfying easily some of the best I've had. If you're looking for a high-quality lunch with excellent service and a great vibe, this is the place. I'm giving it a full rating and will definitely be back!

Reviewed the menu seemed to be eclectic enough, off we go. The place had a decent size outdoor dinning area. Few of the tables were occupied. Table for one...indoor, outdoor was the question? Indoor. Although the weather was beautiful, indoors was my choice. Al fresco dining is not my first choice. I don't like to do battle over my meal with insects and other wild life. I deducted 1 star for red wine served at room temperature. How is it that, red wines are chilled (55F) on the west coast but served at 'room temperature' (72F, 82F...) on the east coast. Had two dishes, they were OK, service was ok Would I go back? Yes, if the red wine was chilled.

Great location at…read morethe end of Mass Ave near Bottleworks--and pro tip: parking directly in front on the same side of the street is free. The space is big and fun, with a large dining room, an old-school video arcade game, interesting art, and a big screen playing movies, which adds to the laid-back, quirky vibe. It's counter service with clear menu boards on the wall, making ordering easy. I had the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon and an egg and... my goodness. So incredibly delicious. One friend ordered the same grits but swapped in fried catfish instead of bacon--also a fantastic choice. Our third went with a classic plate with eggs and bacon, and let me tell you, the bacon is thick and plentiful. We ordered a side of fries for the table and there were more than enough to share. Self-serve coffee with all the fixings is a nice touch, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Fun atmosphere, great food, solid portions--definitely will be back.

We were greeted right away and looked over the menu a bit before ordering. My husband ordered the country breakfast with chicken (definitely the way to go) and I ordered the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon. We each got a cup for water and I ordered a coffee, excited because I saw ahead of going that it was self-serve (like at Cafe Patachou where I can get as many coffees as I like without having to wait for our server to come check on us first). However, the self serve coffee excitement was short-lived after seeing that they only offered half and half as creamer (I'm lactose intolerant) and the two coffee carafes were not labeled for what was inside (decaf? medium roast? you'll never know!) and then one was completely empty and never refilled during our visit. The water station also was not ever refilled during our visit, so we were not able to get refills after filling up our cups the first time. It took a couple of tries to find a table we could sit at because you seat yourself, but several had not been cleaned after other guests left and had food and drinks spilled on them. There were definitely enough staff members there to be able to clean them in between customers, so we weren't sure why they were left that way. We ended up sitting in the middle of the room towards the front, across from the clown art wall, which made for interesting conversation as we looked through everything. When the food came out I was impressed with the portions, but I had no flavor whatsoever to my cheesy jalepeno grits. The egg and bacon were good, but not enough to make it a good dish and I would not order it again. And I love savory breakfast and grits in general, so it was a real bummer. My husband's dish was worth the visit though. It was a huge portion size and we honestly would just split it if we came back and ordered it. It was so savory, seasoned perfectly, and juicy. One of the best breakfast dishes I have tried recently! I really debated between 3-4 stars for this, but my dish was a flop, the lack of cleanliness for the seating area, the lackluster self-serve coffee station, and not refilling the beverages ultimately scored a 3 star review for me. I would come back and try something else though, or split the country chicken breakfast because it was really good. Hopefully next time the beverages won't be empty!
