I found Betania online years ago and have been seeing her on a monthly basis since then. She has helped a lot with my annoying adult acne and aging skin. I ask her all of my skin questions and have bought products such as Retinol through her. Betania has also been helpful referring me to other products I can buy online such as cleanser and pimple patches. I look forward to my appointments with her because not only does my face look better after, but it is also fun to catch up. She knows a whole lot about me, my relationships, hobbies, goals, fears, etc. as she is so easy to talk to. Betania chooses different products/treatments for me based on how my skin is when I show up and it is nice that she adjusts as needed and knows what is best for my skin. LOCATION: In a cozy little building on I st and 26th with a teal door. Plenty of street parking available. DECOR: Very clean room with a soft table, cute rug and esthetician to match. SERVICE: I had a microdermabrasion that was focused on hydration and it felt pretty hydrating. My skin tends to be a bit dry in the winter months especially. I also got this Lactic acid that made my face feel all tingly and tickled. It was actually kind of tough to not scratch, but totally worth it! I don't usually do masks, but I got a hydrajelly mask and I'm SO GLAD I did! That felt so cool and weird and refreshing! I also got extractions to clean out my pores STAFF: Betania is a gem. Calming presence. Very knowledgeable about beauty. I actually learned some things. That's always nice. She was very professional and friendly and wore a mask the entire appointment. EXPERIENCE: After entering the code into the door and heading up the stairs I was greeted by botania in the waiting room where there was not another soul. I say down to a bottle water waiting and filled out a pretty thorough questionnaire. Quite normal when visiting a professional. Once I finished, I was taken into the room where I kicked my shoes off and lied down on a very comfortable table. Betania turned on this heated mist machine that I swear I need in my place ASAP! It would fit right into my morning routine. The lactic acid treatment was especially memorable. I guess the more it tingles, the more it works because I felt like I was lightly tickled with a thousand feathers. Lol. My favorite part (besides the mister) was the hydrajelly mask. I don't do masks because I don't like the crunchy feeling all over my face that masks have when they dry. This was not one of those masks. It was a gel that was rubbed all over my face including over my closed eyelids. I may have panicked for a second, but Betania was quick to reassure me that my eyelashes will still be there when the entire mask is pulled off. And they were. Haha. The peel off was so cool. Run from this place! It's a scam. I bought a 2 dermabrasion package. I went to the first session and it was fine. The day before the second session, I lost my voice. Because of Covid, I didn't think it right to come to the session. I left a voice mail with more than a days notice asking if I could reschedule. Guess what happened?!? No, I could not reschedule. And she was going to keep 100% of the fee that I paid for the session, no refund or partial refund. Here is the kicker! She then sent me an invoice! And you won't believe this, it was for nearly double (159%) what I had originally paid for the session! You got that right, I paid for the session AND paid for an additional 159% cancellation fee! I was sure it was a mistake, but no. And the woman was super rude about it. Merchants like these who end up getting paid two and half times for a session they never even did is why I won't go to someone new again :( And by the way, I have never left a review--I felt compelled because I have never heard of anything like this "policy" before. I had her send it to me. I read the policy and what she did to me is NOT what the policy said.
