Between the 2 of us, we shared 6 eggs southwestern exposure plus a side of country fried steak. Honestly, the omelette was enough for 2 of us because the portion was huge. 1/27/24 My boyfriend and I ventured down to Beth's to change up our weekend breakfast routine. He used to frequent Beth's as a young, drunk man and wanted to introduce me to it. We arrived around 8:15am and had no trouble parking right out front or with being seated right away. I was relieved, because I had read reviews saying how busy Beth's is on the weekends. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs over easy. Although the hash is house made, the corned beef comes from a can. It was a bit too salty, but still tasty. My eggs were perfectly cooked, but they were cold. I asked for extra crispy hashbrowns, and that's what I received. They were well-seasoned and perfectly crispy. My sweetheart chose the country fried steak. I took a couple bites and thought it was solid. He complained about the toast being nothing special. As far as setting goes, the place is an old dive, but it's clean. The walls are papered with kids' drawings, which I enjoyed. Be sure to dress in layers, or the draft might chill you. I'm finding Seattlites are sentimental about dives they frequented late-night or with a morning hang over. And they give 5 stars based on that alone. Came here with a friend for the first time and waited about 25 minutes for a table, no problem. The place was packed. Interesting, pricey menu. ($4.50 for a diet coke, $20+ for eggs and bacon...) I tried the biscuits and gravy. No added eggs or meat. The flavor of gravy was decent, tho it arrived cold/ congealed. Biscuits thick (not buttery or flakey). I think I expected better due to the rave reviews. My friend had eggs, bacon & hash browns. It looked shiny, like not in a good greasy-spoon way :-) Usually they clean their plate but not even close this time. The diner was bustling and I appreciated the hardworking staff, including person putting all the stuff in microwave in a cramped space. God damn... Beth's. Back in the early 2000's, I lived in Seattle, and plenty of debaucherous evenings ended in this place. Usually late, usually loud, and usually hammered... this place was a hoot! Well, on a recent trip to Seattle for work, I ended up finishing the job early and had some time to kill for breakfast. I wondered "are any of my favorite old haunts still open for breakfast?" (besides the Hurricane, which sadly is closed, RIP). I looked and was VERY pleasantly surprised to see Beth's is still kicking! I hadn't been here in almost 2 decades! It's still the same! Legit greasy spoon diner food. My server was a super chill and accommodating young gentleman who catered to all of my needs and requests... he was friendly, quick, and just generally welcoming. Beth's is an expensive dive. I've heard years worth of stories about how great Beth's was. "A Seattle landmark. You have to go!" But my biscuits and gravy were awful: spongy grocery store bread instead of crisp biscuits, saturated beneath a clotted grey blanketing of rancid glue. My barely cooked pink bacon ($7.95 extra) floated in a congealing lake of grease. I barely managed to eat half of my meal. And we saw our server exactly once. No coffee refills, no water refills. But another employee didn't waste time bringing our check. For a far superior alternative, go to Geraldine's in Columbia City. Or Portage Bay in Ballard. For context, lines stretch down the block at Geraldine's and Portage Bay, but we walked right on into Beth's on a Sunday morning and got a table immediately. read more

This dish was super awesome. The ham cubes were cooked perfectly and scrambled eggs were pretty tasty and it came with toast. But them hashbrowns were killer and endless I couldn't handle extra so I didn't try because what they give you is enough. Beth's is reopened! I loved coming here late at night after an event, whether related to school, a club, or just having fun with friends. The unlimited hashbrowns hit different when you're starving but they're already pretty good regardless. Eggs are an added bonus. Unfortunately, I can't dig up my past visits here but I always left bloated, in a good way. However, they seem to have limited hours now, closing before dinner half the week. No longer the 24 hour go-to spot. They were closed for a while and that was sad. Went back in April and I'm angry to say it just isn't the same. A different owner is what I have heard? The environment is the same. Still okay service. The hours are a little different, and that's fine. But the food is different. I'm not going to get in to it because the disappointment for me is major. I guess they think people are stupid. I had to go find her multiple times to ask for things because she didn't check on us after we got our food The Belgian waffle was straight up cold 2 of us got hash browns which were basically patties of shaved potato that were semi-crispy on either side and raw in the middle The cinnamon roll French toast was... hard...? And cold My gravy never came despite me finding another person to grab it for me I don't know, maybe it's because I've only come here at like 2 am as a drunken high schooler- (well over 5 years ago, pre covid) but omg we spent so much money for food that made us feel nauseous I used to love this place. Beth's is life.... Classic diner food. All the staff are so lovely and in a good mood. Quick service usually but sometimes they are slammed on a weekend morning at prime time but it's obvious they are working so hard! The food seems a little bit pricey but the portions are huge, I always have some to take home to have a second meal lol. Plus you can't forget the unlimited hashbrowns. If you're coming in for the giant omelette, the open kitchen allows you to watch just how the behemoth is made. The friendly staff let us sit at a table with a great view of the kitchen. The omelettes come in two sizes: 6 eggs and 12 eggs. Prices of the omelette for each size vary upon ingredients. The first omelette that caught our interest was the Southwestern Exposure and the first one on the menu. Featured on Man v. Food, this omelette features 3 bean chili with red and green peppers, onions, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Maybe we were just very hungry, very excited, or a little bit of both but we cleaned the entire plate in about 8 minutes. A review of the omelette isn't necessary, given how quickly we finished it. This place used to be AMAZING. The food was greasy and good and exactly what you'd expect from a hole in the wall. I went a week and a half ago and it was 42 dollars for a French toast breakfast, a side of hash browns, and a coke (which tasted like toilet water). I get inflation, but it's more than it needs to be. My sausage patty was barely cooked, cold, and pale. I'm not sure what the new owners have done, but if you're going to stay open, you gotta change. read more

We were lucky enough to stop by Beth's before they closed temporarily back in September. I just noticed that they have a potential reopening date and I'm so happy! The food is typical greasy diner food but it's still so dang good. They're known for their large 6 and 12 egg omelettes and I can see why! We "only" got 6 egg omelettes but they're huge! They come with hashbrowns and choice of bread. The hashbrowns are unlimited but neither of us came close to finishing what we already had. We also got an order of biscuits and gravy and it was HUGE. Everything was so good! They were extremely busy being one of their last days open for a while but we were lucky and got a table right away. The staff was attentive and very friendly. Had a bit of a wait but it was all worth it. Omelette was done perfectly. Hash browns were so yummy. Huge portions. My recommendation would be to split a meal or be prepared for leftovers which is nice too. On my first ever visit to Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con 2019 and to hang out with on of my best friends from college, he raved that we MUST grab an omelette from this small diner, and boy, he was right! Him and I came on a Saturday morning around 10:00am and saw there was a small line outside the door of people waiting to get a table. Now, I will say that the parking is very minimal and tight here. We ended up parking in the tight parking lot at the rear of the restaurant, so we were lucky. He put our names on the list and there was about a 20-30 minute wait, which we were fine with. I thought it was cool how there is writing and hand-drawn art on all of the walls and ceilings here, definitely put off a hipster-ish, Seattle vibe to me. The staff here were pretty friendly too. So when I looked at the menu, immediately I knew I had to try one of their omelettes, as the smallest, is six eggs (I've never seen or eaten an omelette that big)!! If you're feeling extra daring, you could order a twelve egg omelette (and be in an egg-induced food coma the rest of the day). As for me, I enjoyed a couple cups of coffee and ordered their six egg "The Veggie" omelette and added bacon (because you can't have enough protein!). It didn't take very long for my buddy and I's omelettes to come out. For being such a big omelette though, it tasted incredible! I put some hot sauce on top and went to town. I loved the fact too that it with each bite, I got egg, veggies, bacon, and hash browns as it was placed on a bed of them. I ate the whole thing and swept up all of the leftovers that fell out with the slices of whole wheat toast. I had a great first experience at Beth's Cafe though and find myself dreaming of getting another six egg omelette every morning now! read more

The food is solid. It's exactly what you'd expect from a diner like this. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs, and it was a little boring. The gravy was a little bland to me. The portions are insanely huge. The restaurant itself is really small, but I find it cozy and charming. I also like their semi-contactless system where you order and pay ahead of time using their qr code at each table. I love systems like that. I don't think I would come back, but I'm so glad I got to try this Seattle institution that's been gone for the past few years. My dad loved the portions, so I'll probably be back. read more

Beth's cafe has always been on my list of places to try but I needed to be able to justify doing the 12 egg omelette: a 11 mile run and a 12 mile bike ride felt like it was enough :) Came here on a Sunday morning and got seated right away which is nice. It's fun to see all the drawings posted on the walls (some of then are actually really good!) And on the menus. We got the northwest exposing which has salmon and cream cheese. It also came with a choice of bread (we tried the egg Bread) and a pile of hash browns. The food was surprisingly really good. The eggs was cooked perfectly and hash browns had the perfect crunch. However, it was on the bland side so you definitely need salt or a sauce. The cream cheese to salmon portion was off. We had a huge portion of cream cheese (too Mich for my taste) and very small portion of salmon. Service was really good though, they were attentive and nice. Overall, a good place to experience something unique and a decent breakfast joint for just a regular breakfast. read more
