We've been going to Beth's since I was in high school (30 years) today I met some friends with my daughter and was really disappointed in the food,prices and service. My daughter ordered the grill plate. Sausage was overcooked and French toast looked dismal. For $13.95 was not worth the price at all. Came here on a Sunday morning and was seated right away. You have the option to either order on your phone, or by a server. Service was friendly; food came out fast. Cute diner feel. The food was not good. At all. 1. Chicken fried steak-tasted generic and chewy. Like something out of the grocery store freezer aisle. 2. Waffle-gross. A mix of overly salty, and sour tasting. Maybe the batter was old and fermented? Also, instead of a crispy waffle, it was soggy like it had been sitting in a take out container for hours. 3. Ham-slice of ham was small and nothing special. Not good, not bad. 4. Eggs-ordered over easy eggs, and they came out oily, rubbery, and cold. To be clear, the eggs weren't greasy (something to be expected and even wanted when eating in a diner), but actually overly oily. It's almost as if they cooked it, let it sit until room temp, and then dipped the eggs in oil. Great food, awesome customer service and they are taking all precautions to prevent the spread of covid! We had the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs and Country Benedict with hot and cold brew coffee. The corned beef was cooked to perfection. Nicely crisp over a bed of hash browns. The raspberry jam served paired deliciously with the corned beef. Treat yourself and make a little Sammy. The Country Benedict took biscuits and gravy to another level! That was one of the best biscuits I EVER had! Fluffy, not dry and flavorful. I topped off my bite with the raspberry jam...best decision ever!! The staff takes preventing the spread of covid seriously! Oh my word. Unlimited hash browns. What else is there to say?? Beth's Cafe's portions are fat and beyond worth their value. Yes, the breakfast may not be as "instagrammable" or "gourmet" as the hipster brunch spots in town, but you just can't beat a big 'ol omelette on the bed of golden hash browns. This fare is especially delicious for those late night rendezvous downtown, if ya know what I mean... the location is cute with a ton of customer made drawings, which you can add to, if you're feeling creative while you wait for your food. I plan to return to Beth's for my cheat day (doing a low-carb/keto diet currently) but even without a cheat day, this would be a good place to get an omelette, asking for no hash browns (or hash browns on the side, because we always have that one friend who would eat them)! read more

Came here on a Sunday with a couple friends after hiking to Rattlesnake Ledge, and we were starving. Wait time outside (there's chairs you can sit on) was about 30 mins (so not terrible). The vibe of the brunch place is pretty divey, you're like 10 ft from the kitchen, there's random papers of people's drawings covering every inch of the wall! Ask them for crayons and paper and tape, they'll let you draw anything random and post it up! I got the Northwestern exposure omelette. Their omelettes come in a 6 egg choice vs. a 12 egg choice. A big pro of Beth's is that their portions are very worthy of what you're paying for, with hash browns and toast. Food quality: straightforward, just okay, nothing super special. But I did appreciate the portion size. The service was also just okay, nothing bad, nothing exceptional. The vibe inside might feel grimey but I feel like you shouldn't be coming here for an aesthetic meal with a hipster atmosphere, Beth's only cares about one thing and it's food. I stumbled upon this Cafe when I was walking into the neighborhood. I was craving breakfast and stopped by to see what this place was all about. I'm sure glad I did because the staff was kind. I came to eat by myself and the cook held a conversation with me along with others eating by themselves. I must say that the omelette are HUGE! They only come in 6 or 12 egg omelettes. I tried my best to finish a 6 and failed. I highly recommend stopping here! I would recommend sharing one with someone else. They also have endless hash browns! If I owned this place, I would do a complete gut and redo. The amount of filth in this restaurant is shocking and I cannot believe it has not been shut down. See how long you can stay in John Wayne Gacy's murder room. The walls are covered with half torn up kid drawings. How's the food? I used to come here ages ago when I was a kid with my father. Whatever nostalgia I had has been destroyed. There is only one item I get thanks to being trained by my dad as a kid. The Full House. There is something about the taste that I can't get anywhere else. Like McDonald's always has its own taste, or Burger King has its own. Will I ever come back for that taste? I ordered biscuits and gravy, something I'm a huge fan of and feel I have a pretty low bar / standard for. I just love biscuits. I feel you can't really go wrong, like I'll get this at continental hotel breakfasts and be super pleased. However I felt at 10+ dollars it should've been much better and it wasn't worth that in taste or value at all. I came here at 6:30am with five hungry college guys after pulling an all-nighter. I had never heard of Beth's, but the guys suggested it since it's open 24/7. Beth's cafe is a hella DIVE. The outside is indiscreet and easily overlooked if you don't know where you're going. Thankfully, my friends had been before and knew exactly where to go. When you first walk in, you see drawings from customers plastered all over the wall. Red booths line the walls on both sides of the restaurant adding to the diner vibe. A guy with a long gray beard immediately seated us at our table and a woman came out to serve as water and take our orders. Beths has been apparently featured on the show Mans Versus Food for their 12-egg omelet combo. I obviously was not in a caveman eating mood, so I ordered scrambled eggs and ham with wheat toast instead ($13.50). My meal came with unlimited hashbrowns which is something I've never seen other restaurants do before. The food portions are HUGE. My ham steak was thick and as big as my face. The toast was also thick and was buttered to perfection. The eggs were tasty and moist as well. The hashbrowns weren't crispy, but were plentiful and buttery. I was able to finish everything except for the ham, which in hindsight, I wish I had gotten sausage links or chicken fried steak like the guys instead. None of us got seconds of the unlimited hashbrowns because we were all stuffed. My meal ended up costing about $17, because they included an automatic gratuity with groups 6+. Not gonna lie, I was a little sketched out by the host because he was carrying around some trashy looking keys (I think it had worn stuffed animals and other weird and eclectic stuff attached to it), but he was a nice guy overall. The silverware also had been sitting out and didn't look super clean, but they have a Good Health rating posted on their door. TLDR; if you're looking for an elegant or first-date restaurant this isn't it. But if you're looking for a late night recovery meal, you're in the right spot. beth's has been featured on food network because of their gigantic portion sizes with omlettes, i think they do 12 egg omlettes, & they've had different challenges associated with the omlettes. i would recommend coming here if you have a huge appetite or haven't eaten anything, you are guaranteed to leave here full. they are still 24hrs & have COVID modifications. In one word, what food item makes Seattle famous? You guessed it... salmon. Salmon is caught locally, unloaded fresh at local docks, and is delicious prepared any way you can think of. Don't get me wrong, as I absolutely adore salmon, but to me, when I think of Seattle cuisine, Beth's Cafe comes immediately to my mind, as it's home to the 12-egg omelet, and the most famous, greasy spoon diner cuisine the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Actually, this visit happened a couple of years ago, and I'm only now getting up the time to post my visit on Yelp. Sorry for the delay. I was dazzled and amazed on this Friday morning, August 18, 2017, that the few on-street parking spaces in front of Beth's Café weren't jammed full of parked cars, and there wasn't a line of hungry diners waiting on the sidewalk for their turn at a table. (I have read many Yelp reviews about this restaurant.) At first I thought the restaurant was closed - how could that be for a restaurant that has been open 24/7/365 for over 60 years? - until I saw the neon-lit "open" sign in the window that reassured me, and beckoned me inside. Parking is limited and tight on Aurora Blvd. and the surrounding neighborhood, but I managed to park in an alley, a short block what you say. At 0730 on this Friday morning, the neighborhood was just fine, but after dark, from what I saw and what I've read, the neighborhood is "sketchy" at best. As I walked in the front door, the first thing I noticed was the open kitchen - which is something that I truly adore - and the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign. One of the two servers on duty, Janelle, as seated at the small counter, working on a crossword puzzle - I assume she was an all-night hostess, as she looked tired - looked up at me, and said that I could seat myself anywhere I wanted to site. That was an easy choice for me, as I sat on a stool at the counter, so I could take in all of the action, and watch the chef at work. The main dining room is to your left, which you might miss, as you stare at the pots of coffee and the seven flats of eggs "on deck," and ready to go. I took a seat at the counter, near where Janelle was working on her crossword puzzle. Beth's Café has been in the same location since 1954, and I think the only "modernization" that has been made is the computerized cash register, at the left of the photo. All orders are still taken on a note pad, and placed on an order wheel. The two gentlemen at the right of the counter were enjoying omelettes - the 6-egg variety - and taking photos, so naturally they were interested in what I was doing. As we were discussing the omelette choices on the menu, I mentioned that I was going with a 6-egg "Southwestern Exposure" omelette, and one of the guys remarked "That'll kill you." I came back with "If I was really hungry, I'd go with the 12-egg version," and that drew a laugh out of everybody, including all three staff members who were working this morning. Beth's omelettes come in two sizes: 6 or 12 eggs. This is the omelette portion of the menu, but the menu includes all of your favorite breakfast, lunch and diner cuisine. Since Beth's is open 24/7, anything on the menu is available at any time, but while chatting with my friendly server, Liz, she told me that about 75% of the restaurant's business comes from the breakfast menu. I really wanted to go with a 12-egg omelette, but I just couldn't... If Adam Richman, of Man v. Food fame couldn't finish a 12-egg omelette, I wouldn't stand the chance of a snowball in Hades attempting the omelette challenge... So, I "wimped-out" and went with a 6-egg "Southwestern Exposure" omelette. I really, really wanted to order a 12-egg omelette, if nothing else, for bragging rights, just to "give it a go." But, maybe I'm getting too old, or too sensible for those kind of antics. I figured if Adam Richman, the man with the voracious appetite, couldn't finish the omelette, than I didn't have a prayer. So, I went for the smaller, 6-egg version, which is still a massive, 2-1/2 pound breakfast behemoth. I ordered the "Southwestern Exposure" omelette, which includes Cheddar cheese, salsa, sour cream and brisket chili. It's served on a large platter, and sits on top of a large helping of all-you-can-eat hash brown potatoes - as if you could eat anything else, lol - with a couple of thick slices of toast on the side. My omelette was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Every bite tasted a little different, I suppose due to the distribution of the cheese, salsa, sour cream chili. The hash browns were some of the best I have ever enjoyed, and the toast was good too. I really wish I could have ordered a second helping of hash browns, but by the time I finished this monster breakfast, I was stuffed. If you're really hungry, and you enjoy a superior breakfast, this is your restaurant. Interesting that my previous review isn't here. When I got there and told the waitress my name for a table, she immediately called it out at "difficult" or "strange". Sorry, missy, but my last name (which I gave her) wasn't "Smith" or "Miller" or some other Anglo name. I felt discriminated immediately. Well, she had to call my name for our table, but I was so disgusted that I didn't stay and had my meal elsewhere. I had only been here once before and the food was "edible". I care not what Guy Fieri nor anyone says (ha, ha, ha maybe because they're Euro), but the food was far from amazing. Glad it's closed. Not going to stay away at night, neither, that it is. This is a 24/7 breakfast serving restaurant and the service depends on what time you visit. When I first came, it was at weekend midnight, and the server acted very slow. The environment was also noisy because many customers just finished having fun. On the contrary, I came at early morning this time, and the server was full of energy and being friendly. There were a few families here and prepare to start their day. The food portion is super big that you might want to share with one to three friends depends on your appetite. Foods are good, too. Expect to wait 30 min to an hour even at 1 pm on Sunday as it's always crowded. There's a separate waiting area inside but it's really offputting. The decor is really fun with just a collage of guests art decorating the walls. I play Ispy with these images and why're usually fresh featuring pics from the latest memes haha. Stopped by this little gem after work one day recently for some late-night grub with friends. My coworker sold me on checking this place out, and his rave recommendation didn't fall short in the least! I LOVE classic diner food, and Beth's has everything I could ever dream of. They offer 12-egg omelettes, which are perfect for splitting with someone, or for leftovers the next day (or two). :) Their breakfast plates are piled on a bed of shredded hash browns...crispy, but not too crispy or burnt, and perfectly flavorful. Attentive and super chill waitstaff; excellent service. Corned beef hash and eggs is one of my all-time favorite breakfast foods, and my faith in the dish was reaffirmed at Beth's. :D I accidentally drove past it the first time, as its exterior doesn't quite pop, which I like. It's there, but it's subtle. (Ish.) People know it's there, but it's easy to miss. Yet, it's a Seattle staple. The interior walls are covered with drawings from previous customers. It pains me to write this review, mainly because I know that this restaurant is a staple in the Seattle area, and the food here is tasty. However, as someone who's worked in the customer service and hospitality field for years, and also as someone who values the importance of kindness and friendliness... Beth's Cafe certainly lacks these attributes and that, for me, reduced my desire to ever come back. A group of friends and I visited Beth's last night for a Sunday pick-me-up before the start of our week. We came in excited, ready to eat tasty breakfast foods, and just in an overall cheerful mood. Our moods were definitely not aligned with our hostess, who tossed our menus on the table without looking at us. It wasn't aligned with our server's mood either, who didn't break a smile once, even when we tried breaking the uncomfortable ice. While our food was good in taste, and portions were very generous, our overall dining experience was lackluster of friendly customer service and really, the only friendly person we encountered was the woman refilling waters, so kudos & thank you for your kindness! Oh, this is the first time this has ever happened to me, but I was literally shoved to the side by a server passing by with a hostile "excuse me." What caused me to write this review was the feeling of being ripped off when it came to paying for our check and tipping. We were not informed of automatic gratuity until the very last person paid - meaning everyone paid double gratuity due to lack of notification about this practice. I certainly respect and understand automatic gratuities for parties of 6 or more, but I cannot wrap my head around "forgetting" to mention this practice, especially when we experienced such negative customer service and bad vibes from the staff overall. Epic! I live a couple hours north and was a regular in the late 90s early 2000s. The grungy (Although welcome when I was a regular) feeling is gone, pictures are starting to fill the walls but Beth's felt cleaner than before. The food, nailed it! The coffee is perfect literally felt like I was drinking a time machine, bold flavorful and they are always keeping you topped up. It really feels like a small-town diner. There's booths like you'd see in the movies and for their wall decorations, it's all hand-drawn pages taped to their walls with masking tape. One thing that is always consistent about this spot is how much food they bring to the table and how generally kind the service is throughout the whole experience. They are a pretty outgoing bunch which if you live in Seattle may be a bit jarring at first but I am sure it is why many folks keep coming back. I had two friends in from Austin, Texas so I was eager to see what their response to the food would be. It really did not disappoint. They felt full, they enjoyed the flavour and were content with the price point for the portions. The service there can get very busy so it is important to remember that when choosing when to visit. The corn beef hash and eggs were on point and overall it was a pleasant meal. They did change their hours which means they are no longer 24 hours, but I do hope that over time the hours will be extended again. I anticipate that with summer business, they will see more folks rollin through and adjust. It was 7am-3pm last I was there a few weeks ago. Did not grab photos of the food as they were scarfed down so quickly, but I would agree with majority of the other reviews and their take on Beth's. read more

I heard about their colossal omelets from my boyfriend, and decided one late night to go try it out with our other friend. Of course we ordered the 12 egg Southern Exposure which was fabulously more than enough food for 3 people, but mistakes were made and I ordered the country fried steak entree in addition to our dozen egg omelet. Needless to say we left with leftovers. The quality of the food was quite average. The gravy on the country fried steak was pretty disappointing. It was really dense and not very flavorful. The experience of consuming the largest omelet I've ever seen was definitely amusing and was probably the most alluring part of the diner. The construction of the omelet was a bed of hash browns, slathered in chili, and blanketed in egg. It was actually pretty good until your stomach capacity starts failing you but I have absolutely no regrets haha. Huge omelettes and unlimited hashbrowns? If you're ready to give up your diet for the day, this is definitely the place to go. We came here around lunch time, and of course, there is a huge line because everybody just wants to eat brunch on a Saturday afternoon when it's raining. You step in and put your name down and then they tell you that you can either wait outside or wait in the games room. We decided to just wait outside like the others were. The staff told us it would be about a 20-25 minute wait but we did end up waiting around 30-35 minutes. Standing in line sort of sucked since the people behind us were smoking, and I apologize but, I'm not a big fan of second hand smoke, thanks. So we finally got called in and put at our little booth table. Beth's cafe is definitely not the most romantic looking spot ever. To be honest, it's actually pretty run down and sort of dirty. I wouldn't wear your best clothing here. The place is filled with tons of drawings. You can ask your waiter for paper and crayons if you want. If you can find a spot on the wall, they'll let you post your image wherever you want. Anyways, this place is known for their huge portions of yummy, fatty, delicious, greasy food. And yes, it'll probably be worth all those calories. So we ended up getting a 6 egg omelette filled with chili and cheese. We shared a plate, which costs 1.50$ more but who cares since you're getting a huge omelette and unlimited hashbrowns. It also comes with toast and they use Franz bread for pretty much all their bread options. They have strawberry and marion berry jam. I got the strawberry and it was pretty good. If you are a fan of chili, then you will probably like the Southwestern omelette. However, we thought it was good, but not the best thing ever. There is another omelette on the menu called the Triple Bypass which has three different kinds of delicious meat. We got that the first time we came to Beth's and I think we prefer that one over the Southwestern. For some reason, the mix of chili and eggs just wasn't the best combination for us. But none the less, we devoured it all anyways. The hashbrowns are great, they are crisp on the top and still all warm and oily on the inside. I like to smother mine is ketchup, and thank God they have big ketchup bottles. You can ask them for hot sauce and they will give you four different kinds. My boyfriend, being the spice fan he is, likes the habenero one the most. Unlimited hashbrowns - take advantage of it. Just keep getting more and more plates worth because it's not going to cost you anything! We only ordered one extra plate of hashbrowns before calling it good. It was pretty cheap too. Our omelette only costed us around 12$ and it fed the both of us for the next like, 6 hours. We didn't feel hungry at all, probably because all those starchy potatoes and eggs had filled our stomachs to the brim. Plus, it also made us fall asleep right when we got home. :) I saw a ton of people order the pancakes and they are massive! They look so fluffy and delicious. I think I'll try that next time. However the next time we get an omelette, I think we'll stick with our Triple bypass. :) read more
