Unlike the name suggests, it's not actually related to Bethune Cookman University at all! But what they do have some of the best wings, probably in the entire state of Florida!! They only have two wing sauce flavors, the honey wing sauce (which is the in house favorite, and they sell bottles of it!!) And of course a hot wing! They opened up and have been maintaining the family business since 1997. Their customer base is loyal. It may be tough to get a phone call in because they are busy, but very much worth the wait. If you want delivery Uber Eats goes there. They are a very sweet family that makes up the staff. They also have shrimp, and fries and sides but I stick to the wings because of the sauce! The Honey Wings are awesome. Fried nice and crispy so they don't get soggy when drenched in that delicious sauce. I'm new to the area. Last week, we hosted a party and heard some folks talking about the tasty chicken wings from Bethune Grill. For the record, I know my way around the kitchen, and I know spices. (I own a premium organic seasoning business (www.masterchefgary.com). This "word of mouth endorsement motivated me to grab my buddy and make a 25+ mile "Wing Run." Upon arrival, I was able to find a parking space in the lot next to the building. (I think the parking lot holds about 5 vehicles). I was impressed with the adherence to COVID protocols. A woman wearing a mask was stationed at the door controlling access into the facility. She greeted us and directed us to another employee who took our order. We explained that we were "first-timers," and were "here for the honey wings." I ordered 60 wings and a small sized order of fries. The server took my order and didn't blink. (a good sign). After ordering we were ushered outside to an established waiting area and instructed to listen for my name for pickup. Soon after, I picked up a pan of 60 wings and fries. Here's the bottom-line: The wings were solid and the fries were disappointing (warm and bland), but I didn't drive there for the fries. The wings were fried to perfection--crispy with a great taste. The honey wing sauce was sweet and zesty. I had "bones flying like feathers." On my next visit, I will get the wings with the sauce on the side. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger. "I'll be back." My grade? When I factor in the great customer service, adherence to COVID protocols and the great tasting wings, I give the Bethune Grill a letter grade of "A." This was worth the trip. read more

I'd heard so many great things about this place and finally got a chance to visit when I broke out of quarantine to go for a long car ride one afternoon to Daytona. Practicing social distancing in a smaller spot is hard but they were ready and taking orders and asking patrons to wait outside after ordering to protect our safety and health during this pandemic. They had a PA system that allowed you to hear the name for your order when its called. Its definitely a spot for guilty pleasures serving everything from fried pork chops to fried wings with fries. If you really want to indulge they also have mac n cheese as a side for an up-charge or a la carte. Their wings come in about 5 unique flavors but we stuck to their classic "honey buffalo" in a 20 piece bone in to share. We also got their fries, potato salad, mac n cheese and a slice of lemon cake for dessert. They make amazing arnold palmers made with home made pink lemonade and sweet tea that we sipped while we waited less than about 10-15 min for our order. The wings, fries and mac n cheese was piping hot and the potato salad was cold as expected. The wings are just delicious, crunchy sweet and tangy with a hint of heat. They come with a dinner roll because they KNOW you will want to sop up the sauce lol. My guest ate most of the roll as I was obsessed with dipping the fries in the ranch, blue cheese or even wing sauce from the order. The mac n cheese tastes like grandma made it...just wonderful. Its came in a larger container but while the Potato salad was tasty it was in what looked like a larger to go condiment container. I wish it was in was a little bigger one like the mac n cheese so I could have had some to go with round two of the wings but it was half price so its not a sticking point id just buy two next time. And trust me there WILL be a next time. The price we paid was great considering we had enough food for one and a half meals! They gave us ALL the condiments we needed as well as some well needed wet wipes for the sticky wing sauce you will be bound to get all over if you are hungry like we were. No need to ask for extra wet they come that way anyhow. Thank God we headed to the beach for exercise after or the carb monster would he on my tail! Lol great place give them a try. It has been almost 7 years since I last tasted a wing at Bethune Grill and I must say boyyyy have I missed out. I went to the Place as soon as they opened today and got half buffalo wings and half honey which is the special of the house. I got this with a side of fries and for dessert I tried a slice of the strawberry cake. Listen!!! If you are in Daytona you must try this place! I only eat flats and of course they delivered me my meal with all flats. I also like my wings fried hard, which can sometimes be tricky because a lot of places end up delivering your wings dry and burnt with very little sauce. Boy did Bethune Grill not only deliver my wings cooked hard- but drenching in the sauce. My lunch was absolutely delicious and the cherry on top was the strawberry cake. The strawberry cake was SO MOIST!! And the cream on top was just what I needed to satisfy my sweet tooth. I am now going to make it my business to eat here at least once a month.
