There menu is simple which I like and there are many things that I would love to eat .

So far the service is great all smiles and came and seated us right away. Nice staff and super sweet waitress Katie. She said she just started ,but she is great!! Our meal came out rather quickly and it's taste delicious , we also ordered pudding cake to go ,I'll be too stuffed to eat it after my meal . I decently recommend eating hear, they have breakfast as well. Great place. Great atmosphere as well .

    Excellent coffee!

It was my first time visiting Betsy's and I couldn't have been happier!! The service was excellent, it was very clean, and the food was spectacular! I had the Chicken fried steak and eggs with biscuit. It was absolutely perfect! I was actually very happy that the gravy came on the side without me asking. I don't mind either way, smothered or not, but this was nice because my chicken fried steak remained crispy. The coffee was also incredible and made it to my top favorite coffee list. If I can drink it black, then I know for sure that it's great coffee. It's not very often that I get to visit Carson city, but I will make sure to visit Betsy's every chance I get. Thank you to the hardworking staff, you're amazing

We were headed back towards Lake Tahoe from a work assignment out by the Gigafactory and passing thru Carson City from the east. Food was on our minds as there's not many food choices before you get to Carson City. I saw good reviews of this Betsy's Big Kitchen located inside the Slot World casino. We were seated at a nice booth by the windows. Looking over the menu, I saw steaks and prime rib on offer as this was a Friday for the prime rib. We went for the most expensive options on the menu ... yeah since this is on the expense account! We ordered the 12 oz. New York steak as well as the 12 oz prime rib, both served with baked potato and veggies along with soup or salad. Both priced at $18.99. Friday is always clam chowder for the soup. By the time we finish our soup and salad, the entrees arrive. Wow, that prime rib looks good! Glad I ordered the big 12 oz cut vs. the smaller 8 oz. cut. Ordered medium doneness and that's what arrived. The NY steak was cooked as ordered as well, med rare. The baked potatoes were cut and stuffed with whipped butter and chives .... actually green onions. OK, my first cut into the prime rib, I could tell it was gonna be nice and tender the way my knife cut through. The flavor was pretty good for a casino special and for the price. A higher end prime rib this size would set you back around $45.00 at a steakhouse. The NY steak wasn't as tender as my friend had hoped, tho cooked med rare perfectly. I think it's just the cut of meat. He said next time he's getting the prime rib like I had. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in here and if I'm out on Highway 50 again, I'll stop here for any meal. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. OK, now off to Lake Tahoe for a relaxing weekend before heading back home next week.

    Weirdest looking fish and chips!

My last review was about a year ago and things have gotten worse since then. The staff has had changes and the management people have too. I watch the operation from my table and can see things are not running tight like before when Krys was manager. Now she's over at Bodine's and that place runs right. It just seems like the people working here don't have their hearts into the job, like just get it done, it's a paycheck. Each section has no idea what's going on between front and back of house. The food .. I ordered fish and chips and it was the strangest looking fish that I've ever seen. The shape was smooth like it was fried potato slices, but it wasn't. It was fish alright, and actually tasted OK and was very hot served, but the look was looked no other! Check out my pics to see this fish. The fries were fries, just fine. I think I'll stick to Bodine's, it's the same owner and same menu basically.

GREAT PLACE. Nice get away from the heat. The staff is friendly and service was quick. Food was hot and tasty. Worth every penny. Definitely a good place for the family.

It seems every time we come to this place it is hit or miss with service and food. We waited almost 45 mins after we ordered our food before we received it. I had to get up from our table to ask our waitress Irma why are tables that were sat well after we were sat eating their food and we haven't received ours. And had to ask her to fill up our drinks. What is frustrating is another waitress was talking to a friend right next to our table with our empty glasses sitting in plain view. When we finally recd our food, my Turkey dinner was drenched in very salty gravy. The turkey seemed to be old, soggy and tasteless. My husband had the meatball sandwich which was over cooked and his fries under cooked. Irma never checked back with us. As much as Irma is nice she lacks the skills to be an efficient waitress. We usually request certain waiters or a waitress but unfortunately this little cafe is going down hill and is getting worse since prices went up recently.

I've been trying to come try this restaurant out, but I like to eat late and they seem to always close before I could get here. I finally made it here tonight before they closed at 10p. Not a very elaborate menu, I went with what they called the cowboy steak. It was pretty much a salisbury steak with sauted onions and bell peppers. They used a hamburger patty, pretty non exciting. I would have preferred a chopped steak but that wasn't the case here. I can honestly say, been there and will not order again. It came with mashed potatoes and steamed or boiled vegetables consisting carrots, parsnips, broccoli and snap peas. I love vegetables of any kind so they were the first to go. I will have to try some of their menu items to finalize my opinion. It was not terrible but it also left me with, this can't be the best you can do.

Our server, sorry forgot your name, was helpful and able to answer our questions, we decided on a few items and our party of six shared them. We ordered two pizzas (pepperoni and a capitol combo), we got the pretzel, caesar salad, BBQ brewmaster plate and a few beers. First off the pizzas are delicious and easy choice for anyone who comes here, it will not miss. The bbq platter was also very good, the portions are not huge but each sausage was tasty. The pig wings were tender and flavorful with the hot honey sauce. The pretzel was also great and paired with the stone ground mustard from the bbq plate was excellent. The only item that I think I would change would be the Memphis wings, they were on the salty side for all of us, the flavor is there but a lil too salty, I think the hot honey sauce would have been a hit on those wings. We tried a few beers the lager, Juicy IPA and an amber ale. I skipped the lager, my dad enjoyed his brew. As for the other two, I found them to be refreshing with a nice balance of hops for each of them and a great companion to the dishes we ordered. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stop by.

They also have an incredible beer selection with well over 100 beers on the menu, so there's something for everyone. A word of advice make reservations if you can. The wait was nearly an hour and it's easy to see why. We started with the fry bread and the jalapeño bombs. The fry bread was delicious, but those jalapeño bombs were an absolute 10/10 and a must-order. We originally came for the prime rib, but unfortunately they had already sold out around 6 p.m., which was definitely disappointing. Thankfully, the food that did make it to our table erased that disappointment pretty quickly. We ordered the two-meat BBQ plate with ribs and brisket, and both were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, smoky, and paired perfectly with their delicious BBQ sauce. We also tried the spicy pot pie, which was unlike any pot pie I've had before, in a good way. It reminded me of an enchilada baked inside a buttery, flaky crust, and it was fantastic. The service was equally impressive. I feel terrible that I can't remember our server's name because he absolutely deserves the recognition. He was friendly, attentive, and made our entire experience even better. Between the amazing food, outstanding service, and unique atmosphere, this ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. In fact, it's probably the biggest reason I'd make the drive back to Carson City.

Food Unfortunately,…read morethe food was very disappointing. The ribs tasted stale and almost jerky-like, as if they had been sitting out too long or reheated multiple times. The basket of wings was cold in the middle and tasted as though they had simply been microwaved. They also tasted old and lacked freshness. The Jump Up and Kiss Me Chicken was overcooked and extremely dry. The flavor was just okay, but there was nothing particularly special about the dish. Service The service was very poor. Our waitress repeatedly rolled her eyes and barely checked on us to see if everything was okay. I had to repeatedly get up myself to ask for condiments, refreshments, and napkins. Management I was also disappointed with how the manager handled my concerns. After I explained our experience, her response was essentially, "Okay, I'll pass along your comments." She did not seem concerned or interested in making the situation better. Unfortunately, I understood why the service was so poor after speaking with the manager. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and in this case, I did not feel that there was much care or concern for the customers. I used to love going to Reds when they had the previous manager. He was always kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about the customers. The food was also delicious and tasted fresh. It's disappointing to see how much the experience has changed. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously because Reds used to be a place I genuinely enjoyed visiting.

When I heard…read morethat the awful awful burger, (awful, big, and awful good! ) is at the Carson City nugget, I wanted to get here for sometime, but I haven't. The casino itself is a simple casino that caters more toward the locals. Old, but comfortable. I can't speak for the games, because I didn't play. But it just reminded me of an old-fashioned casino that goes way back when. They changed the name of the coffee shop to the capital city Grille. They did a good job with the remodel, it's bright and fresh, and it still has that old-fashioned coffee shop vibe, Unlike the crowded space with just a few tables that was in back of the Reno casino. Also, this place is not open 24 hours, like the one in Reno was. I retired from drinking a long time ago, but I still kind of remember that 3 AM stumble into the Reno nugget diner for an awful awful. Ah, the memories... The service was good. Right off the bat, my waitress advised me that she was the only person working, yet she still got to me pretty quick. There was nothing like the original awful awful at the Reno nugget, but I would say that this burger is a worthy heir to the throne. It's more of an "upscale awful awful", but it still holds the mantle of awful big, and awful good. When you order, they ask how you want your burger cooked. I asked for medium, and that's how it came. She also offered me several different options beside the fries. For me, fries, no question. I wanted the entire experience. At the old nugget, you'd get a giant basket of fries, which I could never finish. The burger reminded me so much of the original awful awful. It was immense! With my first bite, the memories just came flooding back. Instead of an onion bun, it now comes on a brioche bun, and as I ate the burger, the bun started to disintegrate a little bit, just like it used to do in Reno. It's hard for a bun to hold up to that much burger. All of the fixings were fresh, and my "awful awful sauce", just as good as always, came on the side. That was no problem, I used part of it on the burger, and the rest of it I used as a "fry sauce" which I love. , the fries were skin on steak fries, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I'm not sure what they seasoned them with. Somehow, I managed to finish the whole meal. It's more expensive than the original, but hey, prices for everything have gone up. The price was still very reasonable. No, this isn't the Reno awful awful, but this place has done an awful awful good job of keeping the tradition going. (See what I did there? :) I will be back. Thanks.
