I still don't understand the hype about this place. I wanted to like it but for some reason my drink is always bad... Came on a Wednesday noon, we ordered a horchata latte, and their best drink ever. We purchased at the window with no line and yet the drinks still took about 25 minutes while the girls were just chit chatting...Was really excited when we received the drinks since it was a hot day. Best drink ever was not bad but nothing too special about it. It's basically a decently sweet vanilla latte. Horchata latte was...we weren't really sure what we were drinking honestly. It tasted like sweet water with some flavor which wasn't horchata. No cinnamon, no vanilla, very light coffee taste. We were just really confused. Not sure if there are specific locations I have to try to be able to get the better version of better buzz or maybe I'd just try it again when I'm buzzed. read more

Sooo the location itself is a bit weird and the drive through line kinda loops around the parking lot due to how busy they get but I finally understand the hype. I ordered the iced honey latte w oat milk which was one of the best lattes I've ever had! The customer service can definitely use to help though especially for first timers. read more

Better Buzz is pretty overhyped in my opinion. I had been hearing about this SD spot for awhile now and stumbled upon this location the other day while traveling. This location is tiny and the lines can be long. I was impressed that even though there were about 5 cars ahead of us they did get the line moving. Kudos to them. The gal that took our order wasn't particularly friendly over the intercom. Felt a bit rushed which is always hard when learning the menu for the first time. Despite this, we tried our best to say our order quickly and keep the line moving. Once we pulled up to the window the service was similar. Not as friendly as my local Starbucks but not outright rude either, just meh attitude/service in my opinion. The biggest issue I had was my iced pumpkin chai was literally terrible. I'm not one to be unable to finish any drink but could barley get halfway through this one before tossing it. The issues I had was my iced chai was Luke warm (ew). They had only put a little ice so it was that gross warm drink where only the top was cold due to the few ice cubes. I wish I had taken a sip before I drove off because I definitely would have asked for more ice. Also the chai wasn't blended well as it was a bit grainy which is a pet peeve of mine when ordering any type of coffee drink. All in all I wouldn't be back. Pricy and lackluster coffee and service. The only reason I bumped them from one star to two stars was because both of my friends enjoyed their drink that they ordered so basically in my opinion they are just inconsistent. read more

I love their SD Best Drink, but this place legit parks every single car...even when they DONT have a line. I'm sitting in spot 1 waiting for my single drink. The Great - their coffee is so good The Good - the baked items are delicious The Bad - They park cars even wen there isn't a line The Ugly - after parking the cars, if there are several parked cars, they wait till they have multiple orders before they walk them out to the waiting vehicles This is terrible service. read more

This Better Buzz location is the first I knew of and enjoyed before all the other ones opened up so this place has a special place in the coffee corner of my heart. Just want to give a shoutout to Taku for his recommendation of my new fave drink Hazelnut Divinity (half sweet w/ oat milk)! Service : great Food: don't usually get food , I mostly get coffee. It's always a pleasure going to this location , make sure you order online on their app ,there usually more top of it and on time with the scheduling . My coworkers said the jalapeño cheddar bagel was so good. $3.54 for a bagel! And that's the price without cream cheese. The bagel was decent but not better than $1 at Albertsons or Vons. They have a great bakery. Their entire menu is overpriced. The service wasn't anything wow either. read more

I seriously hate this location. I always have issues coming here. Today I get a $8, a little over half full. A couple of days ago I sent my husband to pick up my order and he said when he walked up to the window, everybody at the window ignored him for about five minutes so when he finally asked the lady at the window she rudely told him it's going to be a minute even though he could see my drink on the counter. So he waited, and then she popped her head out the window and asked who he was waiting for he told her Liz then she grabbed the cup opened the lid smelled the drink confirmed it was a black tea Lavender latte put a lid back on, but was having trouble so she put her hand her hands all over the lid and handed it to him. The label on the cup said Liz black lavender tea latte why couldn't she just confirm that way instead of sticking her nose in my drink!?after he told me that I I tossed the drink, so gross!! read more

This place is pretty much a permanent pop up. They sell cold pastries because it's too small to hold a microwave or a toaster?? They really need to upgrade this place. It's still a hut in the middle of a parking lot years later. Employees are nice! but the company is doing themselves a disservice by not providing food, especially being by campus. They'll continue to open more cafes but won't fix the ones they already have. read more

I gotta say, I never knew this place existed. Perhaps I was too busy checking out the local breweries but now, I have a place to go in the mornings when I'm in San Marcos again. The coffee and scones here are terrific. As in, it's super delicious! My super nice friend brought over some of those Best Drink Ever along with some scones. You know what? It IS one of those BEST drinks ever! Not too sweet, not bitter at all. And you know what else? The scones are also not too sweet and perfectly baked. I did wish it was a tad bigger for my fat stomach but then again, I guess I will get 2x of those next time. I believe we got a raspberry one and a blueberry one? But the blueberry one wasn't quite as good. Anyways, will see you bright and early next time I'm in town! read more

First time here and definitely not the last. Love that this place is drive through in a fairly empty plaza so it's easy to get in/out. The line looked long, but moved relatively quickly. We had the mint infused ice coffee and absolutely loved it, highly recommend. Dare I say it's very similar to Philz mint coffee. We had our pup in the car and they offered her a pup cup without us asking, the sweetest. Can't wait to come back to try the rest of the menu! read more

I love this cute little drive-thru. I've only been a few times, but so far I love the coffee and the staff is very friendly. The drive line does get long, but they do have an employee outside taking orders to help get through the car line faster. They have a walk up window on the other side with a few tables as well. On Saturday, I ordered an acai bowl and an iced pumpkin chai (first time trying it). While waiting for my order I noticed that the employees knew so many customers. I love that!! I love a place that takes the time to get to know their regular customers (especially since this is only a tiny drive thru and not a cafe type of setting). After I placed my order, I realized that I forgot to ask for soy milk. I went back to the girl and asked if it wasn't to late, to get soy. She immediately, turned to the other girls to check on my drink. My drink was made, but the girl I believe her name was Venesa said it would not be a problem and they would remake the drink with soy. She was so friendly and attentive, she even made sure that I tasted the drink before I left to make sure I liked it. Let me tell you, I love it! Oh and the acai bowls was delicious as well. Let me be the first to say their coffees are decent but their service is to fake. And it is super pricey. Especially when I can get an iced coffee down at Starbucks for the same price as a normal coffee. Better buzz charges more for iced coffees. Do you really need to ask where I'm headed at 6 in the morning. Isn't it obvious? The mocha was good, I think it was a little too sweet and it wasn't mixed very well I got a chunk of mocha powder in one of my sips. Not the best surprise. They have an inspirational quote board by the window that doesn't always make sense but I always give it a read. I guess my only complaints on this place is that the customer service needs work. I know those girls don't care where I'm going at 6am. And I think they need a little better preparation in their drinks. Sometimes the espresso tastes sour. Other then that when I finish moving up to San Marcos I may make this my early morning coffee shop. But we'll see. read more

I had a fantastic experience tonight at Better Buzz. It was our first time giving this chain a go since my husband and moved to North County from the midwest. This will be the new go-to!! We were very warmly welcomed by the staff. The line seemed a little long at first, but it went by quite quick. Didn't notice until we got to the front- they have the cutest patio seating, seems like a little hidden gem in the community. We were turned around by their large menu, but the lady taking my order was patient and gave us solid recommendations based off of our individual preferences. We tried out the Mocha Buzz, and I might just be addicted now. The staff was helpful, friendly, and served us true quality in a cup. Monique, Maddie, and Sienna were the baristas that helped us and welcomed me and him to San Diego- super funny and genuine. It really put a smile on our faces tonight after a stressful moving week. Oh boy, let me tell you about Better Buzz Coffee! This place is so clean, you could eat your breakfast off the floor (but don't actually do that, hygiene is important). The staff are so friendly, you'll feel like you're catching up with old friends every time you visit. Now, the only downside is that parking can be a bit of a challenge. But hey, if you're anything like me, you could use the extra exercise. And the drive through line can be a bit tricky to figure out at first, but don't worry, once you do, it's smooth sailing. But let's get to the good stuff - the drinks! Oh my goodness, they are so tasty, you'll feel like you're sipping on a little slice of heaven. And the best part? You won't have to wait in line for hours like you do at other coffee shops. Overall, I highly recommend Better Buzz Coffee. It's a great spot for a laugh, a chat, and a delicious beverage. I've been to other Better Buzz locations and have had pretty good experiences. This particular one I've never had a good experience with. I've come 4 or 5 times, usually around the same time, I'll be on my way to work. Its a drive through. This morning I stopped by, and the girls were very rude and short with me. I wanted to try a new Irish cream mocha and was made to feel like an idiot. Also, $4.65 is a little steep for a mocha. Their prices are a little high. I also got a muffin and it tasted like it wasn't cooked all the way. So for $6.90, i'll take my business else where, where the staff is pleasant and i'm not breaking my bank for some coffee. UPDATE: still waaay to expensive for poorly made drinks and snotty baristas. The young big eyes Burnett this morning was just not nice. Cute but not nice. read more

I'm a huge fan of Better Buzz coffee. I used to frequent another coffee spot until I tried their Best Drink Ever, and since then, I haven't looked back. It's simply irresistible, whether you prefer it hot or iced. This cozy little Drive Thru shop is always bustling, but it's no wonder why, it's the go-to spot for starting your day right! They also offer delicious breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and Acai Bowls that my kids absolutely love! What sets this place apart are the fantastic baristas, Khaila and Daegan, who are consistently there in the mornings. Better buzz , how you bring joy to my mornings and turn me from a person who is grumpy as heck into an upbeat verion of my self. My go to's are the Carmel buzz (version of a Carmel Frap from Starbucks) only more sweeter, creamier and really smooth. They use girraddelli syrups which are infamous for their smooth chocolate, I also love the "best drink ever" yes that is what it is called. I personally like it iced not hot. I'm a cold drink person can't stand warm drinks. Only docked off a star because 95% of the time I order a Carmel buzz they ask me if I want whip cream and I say yes and as I'm waiting for my drink at the window someone else asks if I want whip cream. I love how convenient this place is!! If I don't want to get out of the car, I don't have to! However, they do offer a very nice seating area out side with a walk up window. The furniture they use for outside, is very high class and homelike. I love the honey latte!! Its my favorite. All of their flavored drinks are well balanced, and the flavor isn't too over powering. The foam is alright. Not the best but far from the worst. I wouldn't drink any of their coffee black..it has that burnt bitter taste without flavor. The customer service is always fast, and most of the time very friendly. They all give good description of menu items, but you can tell they aren't THAT into coffee! This drive thru coffee shop is awesome. Not only do their employees work super fast but they are genuinely friendly. They legit seem to be having fun and enjoying their job each time that I have driven by. I am partial to a simple order of a double espresso wherever I am end up for my daily coffee fix, and Better Buzz doesn't disappoint. They really have found the happy medium between bold and super smooth. I think they use a medium roast so it has more depth of flavor than your average "other place". If you're feeling like something on the sweeter side, they have a horchata latte which I believe they said they make in house and its damn good. The Better Buzz Coffee place is always buzzing! Drive through coffee is genius! Don't worry though! Just get mentally ready for the massive line that is the drive through! Whenever we go here, we prepare ourselves ahead of time. In fact, our son knows that it's time to turn on some Star Wars music to listen to while we wait. We definitely make it fun. Angela says her favorite is the Icy Vanilla Buzz. I like the Killer Bee (coffee plus espresso) when I pick up the kids on the way home. My son (who isn't allowed coffee just yet!) will tell you the bear claw is the best. We love the double meaning of the shop's name too. Definitely the only 'buzzed' you should be in a car is on some coffee beans. read more

Finally another Better Buzz in North County! I was fan of the Carlsbad Cafe, now there's a drive thru I can hit up on my way to work, woohoo! I went by last week, to get my fave (Mocha Buzz with an extra shot). The staff is always so friendly and happy. The drive thru was quick and painless, and it was super easy for me to get back on to San Marcos Blvd from their drive thru, huge plus for me. I saw that they had a walk up with some great patio seating, I'll have to give that a try on the weekend. They've got great coffee! They're sure to give Starbucks a run for their money! read more

Unfortunately I have to give better buzz only 1 star. For the past few months the customer service at this store has gone down hill. So many new people they can't remember drink orders and don't acknowledge you as a customer. They also used to be so fast and now it takes me nearly 20 minutes to get my drink. Either they need more people or just better training. They have lost a loyal customer I'll take my service to another coffee shop. Figure it out better buzz read more

I ALWAYS get the Chai buzz, sooo delicious, especially if you add a shot of espresso, ugh so good. I'm gonna have to put on my big girl pants and try their other stuff, I'm sure it's all delicious. Friendly service, nice little outdoor area to sit. It may be a little pricey, compared to Starbucks, but Starbucks is the Walmarts of coffee. I do prefer local coffee shops over chains and feel like at those places the coffee quality is superior, but this was a fun treat.
