I want to be very clear about this review - it is not about services that were actually rendered as the technician politely declined to do the job. Overview: I placed the appointment last week to have my dryer vent tubes cleaned by this company. The person I spoke to on the phone was pleasant and courteous. They were upfront about the $169.00 fee and we agreed to that and I made sure that I could pay by credit card. The appointment was made for Today (Monday, April 27th.) The Technician was on time and I received a courtesy text 15 minutes before the appointment to let me know they were on the way. Here's why I am giving a 1 star review: The technician told my wife (I was not at home when the technician arrived) that he would not do the job as our dryer vent installation was not up to code and that his tools would likely break our existing vent lines. I understand all of this. The house was built in the 70's and many aspects of our home are not up to code. I also appreciate him not doing the work if he felt as though the lines would be damaged by his tools. However, we were charged a $70.00 service fee. The one star review is not for the fee. I get it. Time is valuable. But I do believe just a few more questions asked by the technician that made the appointment could have saved us both time and money. ALSO, AT NO POINT IN TIME WAS A SERVICE FEE DISCUSSED, OR WAS I MADE AWARE THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THE JOB COULD NOT BE DONE BECAUSE OF CODES OR OLDER INSTALLATIONS. The 1 star review is because of their failure to properly inform me of the fee if the work was not performed, up front, when I made the appointment. Perhaps some of you think that this should be implied, whether or not it was said. Maybe you're correct. But I also would have probably reconsidered the appointment if the technician I'd made the appointment had said "How old is your home? Do you know if your ductwork is up to code? If it's not up to code when we get there and we're unable to perform the service we charge a $70.00 fee". I would have very likely thanked him for his time, done more research and considered another avenue. It felt scammy that this wasn't said when I made the appointment. I don't feel scammed per se, after reading the other glowing reviews here, and I think that perhaps this isn't something they normally do, and it's entirely possible my house is the one weird house where you can't clean vent lines using their specialized tools and I'm the asshole here. read more

We just moved from Plano and noticed our dryer was taking a whole lot longer to dry in the home we moved into in Round Rock. And even then, the clothes weren't really dry. After reading up a little on the internet, we concluded our dryer vent in our new place must be clogged up. We dug around a little more to find the company with the best reviews and chose Better Dryer Vent. Jordan came out and took care of everything. Not only was our dryer vent duct just about completely blocked, but the vent cap on the roof was completely wrong and was restricting the flow of hot air out of the dryer in into the atmosphere. Lastly, the dryer hose connection coming out of the wall in our laundry room had been rigged and shambled together by previous residents and was extremely difficult to connect our dryer to. Jordan told me what it would take to fix everything and then he went at it. He worked tirelessly until everything was perfect. When he was finished we turned on the dryer and went outside and I could see the dryer was blowing the flap up in the roof vent just like it's supposed to. I really had no idea how dryers are supposed to vent until today when I saw for myself a professional do his work. I tipped the guy every buck I had in my pocket. I just did my first load of laundry with our squeaky clean new dryer vent duct and it took almost half the time to dry that we had grown accustomed to in our home in Plano. Jordan is a real gentleman and a pro. It's great to see a local family business do so well. I do not like to spend money unnecessarily, and in my opinion Best Dryer Vent Cleaning is an excellent value. read more

I contacted James from ATX dryer vent cleaning after a repair man from Sears told me our dryer vent needed to cleaned out. James was able to schedule the appt within the next day. It happened to start pouring down rain right around the time he was suppose to come. He was willing to come anyways. When he arrived to our house he was very considerate and asked if he could go in and out thru the garage in order to not get the carpet dirty with mud. He explained to me what he was going to do(which he also explained over the phone when I first contacted him). Once he was done he cleaned up the small mess that was made. Even after I had already had the service done a A/C repair friend had said ATX dryer vent is who he recommends to his clients. Overall I am 100% satisfied and would use them again in the future!! My mom's dryer wasn't working so I found a great company on Yelp (The Washer & Dryer Guy (Nick) to repair it. But she also needed to get her dryer vent pipe cleaned out. Originally I contacted Fireman Dryerman to do the work but they were unavailable but they recommended Better Service Co. so I contacted them and spoke with James. He was able to set up an appointment in a few days which was great. Joe came out and did the service for her and it was a great experience. We discussed everything he was going to do that day and he showed us what was going on with her dryer vent pipe. It was pretty dirty and it had a blocked vent pipe on the roof. He cleaned everything out and now my mom can use her dryer without anymore issues. Don't forget to get your dryer vent pipes cleaned! Great job! read more

I thought maybe it would be a good idea to get my dryer vent cleaned. Or more precisely, my mother in-law did. Little did I realize how bad my vent really was - the dryer itself, the ducts, and the outflow vent on the roof, were almost impenetrable. I picked Better Dryer Vent Co more or less at random via Google, and I was really impressed. They were professional, friendly, and thorough. Yes, they up-sold me a bit by convincing me the roof vent needed to be replaced. I hadn't planned on it, but David was absolutely correct, it did need to be replaced. Better Service Co. is not an organization you want to have in your home or anywhere near your home. The owner is a licensed HVAC Tech, and while he may not defraud you, he will do his utmost to make the most money out of you. A dryer vent issue that we had, and where I later learned 80-90% would have been solved with a simple and cheap procedure. Turned into an almost $900 money-making venture for this unethical company. Yes, they may be more unethical people out there, but these guys are an 8/10 on the unscrupulous scale. Not sure how they have so many 5-stars, but they unfortunately seem to have expanded their business, maybe because people got wise and do not want to use them again for their dryer vent needs. read more

Do not hesitate to call ATX! My brand new, apparently very safe dryer quit working and informed me I had a filter issue. I knew it was a clogged duct because it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Amanda answered the phone the first time I called and scheduled the appointment for the next day--a Saturday, no less, with no weekend upcharge. The technician called to let me know he was coming, got here on time, and cleaned out our dryer duct lickety split. He even fixed a rusted, crummy wall connection others had trouble fixing. They have a maintenance program, too, in which they'll call in a year to schedule a cleaning. Keeps me from having to remember. If only all businesses were run like this! Call them! read more

This company is top notch and extremely professional!! I've used them for commercial locations and at home. I always trust James with anything he recommends. I never feel like he is trying to sell me something I don't need. We do routine cleanings every 6 months that he is always reminding me about. If I ever have a question, he is readily available with a solution or will recommend a company that can provide the work I'm looking for. I rarely post or review, but I'd be remiss, if I did not comment. I called these guys about 90 minutes ago, on a Friday afternoon, to request a cleaning. James said they were booked, but he said he would check with his guy. Less than 5 minutes later, James called back and said they could squeeze in another appointment. About two minutes ago, Jordan pulled a monster clog out of our dryer vent. Friendly, helpful service. No surprises or extra charges. I cannot recommend highly enough. The minute I called James on the phone, he was nothing but professional. He scheduled an appointment the next day, showed up on time, and answered all of my questions. I checked other companies, and his prices are right on par with others. Besides cleaning the dryer vent, he noticed that the vent cover on my roof was not the right cover for a dryer. Met with David and he was super informative and even educated me on fire hazards, best practices, and work that should not be done vs. should be considered to maintain my home. ATX Dryer Vent Cleaning gave us some excellent service! James came out and assessed what our particular problem was with the dryer vent. He cleaned the inside and outside of the vent. He was extremely professional and went step by step on how he was going to get everything taken care of. He was on time and the job took as long as he said it would with no extra fees on top of his original estimate. My dryer was getting hot but it was taking 2 to 3 cycles to dry my clothes. I decided to do a search and ATX popped up. The reviews were awesome. I Emailed James and he responded to my email promptly. He came out and found a very clogged vent. James is very knowledgeable about his business. My dryer vent was completely clogged because the roofer had installed the wrong type of vent for my dryer. ATX was at my house by 3:00PM the same day I called. They had to remove the vent and then replace it with the proper vent type and replace some shingles. In less than 2 hours all of the repairs were completed and we were back to drying clothes. At 9 AM I was able to make an appointment for 11 AM the same day. David kept me informed of his arrival time. When he arrived he was courteous and explained the work he was about to do. In addition to doing an excellent job of cleaning out my vent he gave me advice about replacing the vent on my roof as well as replacing the hose connecting the dryer to the wall.
