In a jar.

You ever watch the show Portlandia? If you haven't just come here. Classic case of Santa Fe trying too hard "Burrito in a jar"...what in the name of hipster Jesus? Couldn't imagine a worse vessel to eat a burrito out of. Coffee was ok. I've had better I've had worse. Wear a beanie if you want to blend in. Doesn't matter if it's hot outside. I got a normal burrito cuz I don't have time for nonsense. Had the brisket burrito with red chile. It was decent. The red chile lacked a little flavor and spice. Maybe it would have been better out of a jar.

We decided to post up at Betterday for a Friday morning remote working session, and it's the perfect place to do so! Lots of outlets and table options (outdoor and indoor) at the front of the cafe. The music, artwork and people watching is great, especially if you're just visiting like us. We split the California burrito, and I got a latte with their homemade pecan milk (so yum). The burrito was perfectly crisp and not at all greasy. A perfect breakfast to start the day. Highly recommend checking out!

We tried this place when visiting from out of town based on an article from The New York Times and are so glad we did! Service was great and fast! When we arrived there was a line to the door and they moved it quickly! Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors! Quaint space, relaxed atmosphere! We had the classic breakfast burrito per the article we had read with green chile and breve cappuccino and breve latte. Our burritos were amazing! Tortillas are homemade and the green chile was perfect! Coffee might be one of our new Santa Fe favorites! We will be back!

We love this coffee shop that's close to our house. Lattes &coffee drinks are great! (LOVE THE MOCHA!) Today, I found a drink that I don't think they do well. Matcha. They add WAY too much milk (or in my opinion, too little matcha.) I love the flavor of matcha & was excited that they didn't add sweetener. But then I saw how much milk they started with & how LITTLE powder they added, I knew I'd be disappointed. It tastes like milk. I can't even taste the matcha. :( Lesson learned. Don't order that here unless you want green antioxidant milk.

I blacked out while eating the california burrito and forgot to take a photo before i ate it because it was so good. Completely finished.

Betterday is my favorite cafe! The tortillas are the best and the burritos are my favorite in town. I don't like classic New Mexican burritos so their other options really appeal to me. I'll keep coming back to betterday :)

Vanilla latte

My son and husband came here every day to get coffee and pastries while we were on vacation and it was always tasty and fresh. And their vanilla latte is probably the best latte I've ever had. I am sad to leave and not be able to find something comparable where I live.

Best breakfast burritos in town. The classic with green chile salsa is delicious. For drinks, we enjoy a plain latte with oat milk. The beans are smooth, not sour, and the foam is also smooth and dense.

Betterday is a solid Santa Fe staple. My favorite breakfast burritos in town although my wallet can not sustain their price. The California burrito is $18 with tip which is outrageous for counter service coffee shop but its very good and has steak... I add beans and it's always delicious, warm and filling. I recently got the chicken sandwich and it was good but not great, lacked flavor to me, superior greasy and the fries were undercooked and drippy greasy as well. I would stick to the burrito options. The chai did absolutely nothing for me- it was flavorless and expensive but there are many other drink options including serving Coava and Stumptown coffee- shoutout to my Portland roots. I enjoy the booths, and indoor/ outdoor seating options. The service is always efficient. Good spot to meet people, have lunch, get work done or just chill.

Barista Action shot and long line of eager customers to get a good cup of Joe.

Better day is a unique retro throw back coffee shop with some of the best coffee in Santa Fe. They are the only coffee shop I've ever been to that makes fresh pecan milk. Their in-house oat milk is also delicious. I appreciate that they don't sweeten their matcha powder which is ceremonial grade, and that they don't sweeten their in-house chai concentrate either. Staff is quick, efficient, sharp, kind, and fun. I will come here practically every morning while visiting in Santa Fe to enjoy their assortment of warm beverages and ambiance.

Owner is a jerk. And doesn't make good chai. Starbucks is better. He was very snappy at me during my ordering process.

Attentive service and very tasty breakfast burritos. Check them out. They are located not too far from the Lodge at Santa Fe.

We tried a couple of different coffeeshops around Santa Fe, and this one was our favorite by far. I got the Murmuration of Starlings and it tasted just like the name! It was sweet without being too sweet and the rosemary, thyme and cardamom gave it a unique twist. This place is on the smaller side and there's not a whole lot of seating, although they do have a few outdoor spots. Our coffee orders also took a little bit to get, but we enjoyed that time reading their newspaper and coloring in their coloring book! Would definitely return here if I am in the area.

I also care about the vibe of a place, so the breakdown is 5-star coffee drinks, but ho-hum 3-star service, hence the 4-star review instead of the 5 I would've loved to have reported here. The place is a few blocks from where we stayed and was easy to walk to and find, knowing I'd be looking for a sign with a few animals on it and it may not be obvious to some that this business is a coffee shop. I ordered the Crash of Rhinos, which fits their clever theme. The drink was just sweet enough and unique and flavorful. However, when we walked in, there was no barista or anyone at the front to greet us; we didn't mind waiting a minute or two for someone to show up since it was clearly open and there were a couple customers inside (and duh, we were on vacation and not in a hurry). When the nose-ringed hipster-looking girl came around the corner I was disappointed that we were not greeted with a smile or a good morning, or "sorry to keep you waiting" kind of phrase. She took our order, made our drinks, and did not say thank you (I did, and tipped her $2. Why, I'm not sure). That was that. Hubs ordered the spicy mocha drink and it was a bit much; he decided it would be better iced or he'd try a different selection next time. Yes, there was a next time. Different barista, same kind of treatment. Still tipped just because I was a barista for many years and know this really helps supplement a worker's salary and encourage good communication with customers. This time I ordered the Murmuration of Starlings latte, which has rosemary, thyme, and cardamom notes. It was delicious but similar to the Crash of Rhinos drink. The third time we visited we entered through the Chocolate and Cashmere shop next door. I found it funny that the nose ring barista girl happened to be in that shop talking to the girl who worked there, but when we walked in, she quickly exited back to the coffee shop to sit with the other barista at a table in the coffee shop. The chocolate shop girl was so sweet and we even visited their location in the Plaza a day later and she was just as nice, even though that day we did not make a purchase. Overall I do recommend Crash Murder Business for their coffee drinks, but don't expect friendly service. (If you're looking for that, go to Iconik up the street!) Just because you work at a coffee shop and you have a cool haircut does not make you above others. Especially when small businesses work to please their customers and should encourage their return. Kind of a shame...but I would still go back for the coffee if I were ever in town again.

The employees/baristas and customers were so friendly here! I'm from San Diego and was visiting Santa Fe for a week with my family. I tried to sample many of the coffee shops in town and this one stood out for its friendly service and warm atmosphere, plus quality coffee. I ordered the horchata latte and it was delicious! However, it didn't seem very strong coffee-wise (I believe my latte had two shots of espresso?), so I had to come back like an hour later to get a second one to satisfy my caffeine needs. The breakfast/brunch options looked amazing and were reasonably priced, but during our stay we did not end up eating here...we simply ran out of time! The space is within a shared work building right off the street, walkable from where we were staying and close enough to walk to the Plaza. I enjoyed walking here on a few mornings and getting the feel of what it might be like to be a local in town, while scanning the many clothing and other types of shops along the way. Overall I'd recommend this coffee shop for friendly vibes and yummy coffee drinks...but next time I'd add an extra shot to my latte.

The café has a cool, modern vibe with plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. They were very busy on a Saturday morning. The counter staff was very matter-of-fact. Not rude, but not especially warm or welcoming either. Honestly, I got the impression she was just under a lot of stress. We also asked another staff member if we could use one of the patio umbrellas (they were all closed for some reason), and he was prompt and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, a meat-filled empanada, a honey latte, and a cold brew. The cold brew was a little too dark for my taste, though coffee preferences are definitely subjective. Interestingly, there's a place in Albuquerque that has an almost identical flavor profile. The toasted everything bagel was very good, but it didn't come with quite enough cream cheese. The single cream cheese packet also felt a bit lackluster presentation-wise. That said, when we asked for more, the response was friendly and accommodating. The honey latte had beautiful latte art and great flavor, definitely a highlight. The empanada, filled with ground beef, green chile, and piñon, was a bit over-toasted, but the filling itself was flavorful, even if somewhat sparse. Overall, I think 35 North has a lot going for it and could easily elevate the experience with a few small improvements to consistency and customer service.
