I enjoyed the copious amount of veggie, but had a hard time finding the chile. I found a bit of green chile, but it might've been missing the red. Still pretty good. We decided to post up at Betterday for a Friday morning remote working session, and it's the perfect place to do so! Lots of outlets and table options (outdoor and indoor) at the front of the cafe. The music, artwork and people watching is great, especially if you're just visiting like us. We split the California burrito, and I got a latte with their homemade pecan milk (so yum). We tried this place when visiting from out of town based on an article from The New York Times and are so glad we did! Service was great and fast! When we arrived there was a line to the door and they moved it quickly! Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors! Quaint space, relaxed atmosphere! We had the classic breakfast burrito per the article we had read with green chile and breve cappuccino and breve latte. Our burritos were amazing! We love this coffee shop that's close to our house. Lattes &coffee drinks are great! (LOVE THE MOCHA!) Today, I found a drink that I don't think they do well. Matcha. They add WAY too much milk (or in my opinion, too little matcha.) I love the flavor of matcha & was excited that they didn't add sweetener. But then I saw how much milk they started with & how LITTLE powder they added, I knew I'd be disappointed. It tastes like milk. I can't even taste the matcha. :( Lesson learned. Don't order that here unless you want green antioxidant milk. read more

Foodwise, I have never had anything vegan here that was any good, but I cannot speak to their non-vegan stuff, which at least sounds pretty good. So I treat this as basically a coffee kiosk. Great coffee, always; friendly and efficient staff; nice surroundings. What more could one ask? (We'll, decent vegan food, but we are a small and already overbearing group). It is a wonderful ritual to grab a Betterday and head up the hill to the nearby 300-ish acre dog park with stunning views! A better day is hard to find! read more

This is a different kind of review. The coffee is the same. The burritos are still good. So are the muffins. But something happened with the vibe of this place once all the great baristas were fired or quit, not sure which. It feels like a space with nothing filling it. I went there a lot, but no more. It just feels like it had a lobotomy, or something. They had the greatest, most personable baristas who all knew your name and were great at what they did. Now the place had its personality excised. Betterday is a solid Santa Fe staple. My favorite breakfast burritos in town although my wallet can not sustain their price. The California burrito is $18 with tip which is outrageous for counter service coffee shop but its very good and has steak... I add beans and it's always delicious, warm and filling. I recently got the chicken sandwich and it was good but not great, lacked flavor to me, superior greasy and the fries were undercooked and drippy greasy as well. I would stick to the burrito options. The chai did absolutely nothing for me- it was flavorless and expensive but there are many other drink options including serving Coava and Stumptown coffee- shoutout to my Portland roots. I enjoy the booths, and indoor/ outdoor seating options. The service is always efficient. Good spot to meet people, have lunch, get work done or just chill. read more

The breakfast burritos here are a 10 out of 10. I had a bacon breakfast burrito to go before a hike. The homemade tortillas are fantastic, the bacon was thick and plentiful, and the potatoes were nice and seasoned. I would 100% recommend the breakfast burritos if you want a quick yummy option. The coffee is just okay (hence the 4 stars). It's nothing special, and honestly a tad weak. I would visit again to try more food, but I'm not going to go there just for coffee. The inside is cute though, and they have a lot of space to sit and chill while you're there. There's also a vintage store right next door and a co-op a couple doors down. Better day is a unique retro throw back coffee shop with some of the best coffee in Santa Fe. They are the only coffee shop I've ever been to that makes fresh pecan milk. Their in-house oat milk is also delicious. I appreciate that they don't sweeten their matcha powder which is ceremonial grade, and that they don't sweeten their in-house chai concentrate either. Staff is quick, efficient, sharp, kind, and fun. I will come here practically every morning while visiting in Santa Fe to enjoy their assortment of warm beverages and ambiance. read more

Best drip coffee in Santa fe. I am a coffee fanatic. I will drive miles for good drip coffee. The website showed plated food that looked delicious but our order came out wrapped in paper and shoved into a worn out basket. The breakfast burrito was a greasy mess and the napkin dispensers had so much dust and grease caked on it that I was prompted to take a closer look at the dining area. EW, GROSS! This was certainly a welcome surprise in choosing my Santa Fe coffee venue. Although Betterday Coffee is located in a slightly danky and unattractive shopping plaza, this venue clearly defines the cliche of "don't judge a book by its cover." First off, the ambiance here can get to be festive, even early. If I had one word to describe it, it would be "hippiesh." Not that being hippiesh is a bad thing. Seems like a local hangout for local business owners, personal trainers, travelers like myself, and hippies. Now, the product is pretty good. The male barista informed me that his expresso machine usually pumps out more, yet today's cup seemed to be 3/4 full for the four shots that I was served. I ordered three, yet it comes in fours. Breakfast items are available from fresh muffins (they should keep the glass cover on) to burritos. For today, I chose a red and green chili breakfast burrito, yet I didn't taste much of the green chili. More red than anything. The WiFi here is very good. If I had one complaint, its that the concrete seating puts a slight strain on your butt if you aren't careful. While there are pillows for you to sit on, you can actually feel the cool concrete of the seats. Its different, yet useful whenever the other seating areas toward the front are occupied. Pretty good customer service from the baristas that actually take the time to talk with you rather than at you. I'll certainly be back upon my return to Santa Fe. read more

Went to breakfast with a friend and had tea and the standard burrito. Service was fast and friendly, it was relatively busy. I enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine to eat and others were tailgating. The tea was fine, and the burrito was tasty - I'd go back but it wouldn't be my first choice. If you want a good breakfast burrito, I would recommend going to a local food truck over this place. I've been ordering burritos online from Betterday for awhile and they have only gotten worse over time. The burrito I ordered today was the smallest I've ever seen. It was basically like eating a tortilla with a little smattering of eggs, bacon and potatoes. Not even sure I noticed the green chile. By the time you've paid tax and a tip, it is around $12. Their new barbecue place next-door is totally lovely. I love that it is local organic and handmade. My husband hates the regular coffee here. I always get an iced mocha, and I think they're pretty good. I like the people too. The vibe here is easy, there are lots of hipsters, artists, and entrepreneurs.
