    Vegan bowl- Christmas Chile
    Milena P.

I used to come here when it was the Santa Fe baking co- and that I would give 5 stars alone in their organic Mexican coffee that was soooo good. While a lot of the business has remained close enough, I don't love the food or coffee quite as much. The crowd is great and filled with locals and visitors alike, probably taking up a much needed brunch spot that Tecolote used to provide. I went for the vegan breakfast bowl today and the last time I was here- and while I remember it being mostly the same , I don't remember all these potatoes. That's a LOT of potatoes guys, maybe some more greens and beans would have been a better choice!

A cute, unassuming spot - definitely recommend! The staff was so nice and friendly and the food was incredible! We got the Taos quesadilla and a cowboy bowl (the latter was recommended by the staff) and both were fabulous!! I scarfed the bowl so quickly and am so full! It was tasty and everything I could've dreamed of in a breakfast bowl One of our friends ordered the blue corn pecan pancake and it the bites we had of it were great! 5/5 would come back again!

The nastiest, bad smelling bacon was served in this place today. It can't get worse than this. The picture speaks for itself.

The New Baking Company is located on the same spot as the old one. It's clean and streamlined, and the food came out fast. Good service, but the food wasn't particularly impressive. I had the carne adovada breakfast plate. The carne was decent, though its taste was strongly reminiscent of Taco Bell. I requested extra lettuce and tomato garnish, which worked well. The potatoes were kinda meh, and the chile was disappointing. My girlfriend had the "ranchero bowl," or something to that effect. Tasted good, but she thought it was way too wet. She said there was too much of the fluid that the black beans were cooked in. The atmosphere is nice, even though the parking situation is still a mess. The charm of the old place is absent but it was still packed with customers. Overall, pretty average.

Great dining experience. Ordered breakfast burrito filled with delicious smoked ham, bacon, tomatoes, and eggs. Topped with melted cheese and green chilies, perfect heat and spice. Order an ice water to cool off! Side of black beans was perfect accompaniment and it all appeared promptly and hot on the umbrella-shaded patio.

    BLT Breakfast Sandwich

I really enjoyed my brunch here. It was busy (and a but noisy) inside so I decided to enjoy the sunshine at the tables outside. The food was ready quickly and was great. I'm looking forward to trying their other menu options as well as repeating the BLT breakfast sandwich, too. The latte was bigger than I expected which was a great surprise. Tasted great also! I enjoyed my first time eating here very much.

Chicken salad wrap in a spinach tortilla with French fries.

I stopped into The New Baking Company for a quick lunch during my workday. There was plenty of seating inside, and it looks like in warmer months there is outdoor seating as well. You place you're order at a counter at the back so you have to walk past a case of delicious looking baked goods to get there. I ordered my food and was given a number, and took a seat at a table while I waited for my to go order. The food came out pretty quickly, and the server brought it to me. I ordered a coffee and the chicken salad wrap, and unfortunately I was pretty underwhelmed by what I got. I'll start by admitting I'm a coffee snob, but I wasn't expecting anything fancy from here. I filled my cup with the morning brew, a light roast coffee, and it was bitter and burnt tasting. I was really disappointed considering so many other reviews mention the great coffee! My chicken salad wrap was not at all what I expected. It was more of a green salad with grilled chicken in a tortilla, rather than chicken salad in a wrap. And while a green salad with chicken in a tortilla could've been fine, it was drowned in chipotle mayo. It felt like every bite I had was more mayo than anything else. The best part of my meal was the fries. They were shoe string style with a really yummy seasoning. Not sure I'll be back for food or coffee, but maybe someday I'll stop in for a pastry.

I've been coming here for a few years where I work a bit and of course enjoy breakfast. The food is great, but mostly I appreciate their attention to cleanliness and friendliness to customers. I've seen reviews that complain about the food but I've not had a negative experience. I usually stick with eggs and oatmeal and the Cowboy Bowl which is superb. Kudos to Filiberto and his staff!

Parking is a little limited in their own parking lot and the shop is sort of crowded, but you can always park on a street outside (albeit some small parking fees). Overall, I really enjoyed the pastries here...although I think the drink (I got matcha latte...true, true, matcha latte isn't much of a western drink..so maybe I'm wrong to judge a restaurant by this drink) wasn't so much of my highlights. I would, definitely recommend this place for pastries for sure though!

On the food side, Palacio cooks their red Chile for over 8 hours, making it in my opinion one of the best and most flavorful in Santa Fe. Most other places I get Christmas style, but here, the red Chile is just perfect. On this trip, we had a smothered breakfast burrito and enchiladas suizas. Both were perfectly cooked, served hot, and resulted in another visit of what we expected from Palacio - great food and friendly service in what had quickly become our favorite Santa Fe restaurant.

My husband ordered the Guajillo Braised Boneless Short Ribs, which were cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
