Clarification what I had was the Sunday gravy.!! The newest picture uploaded is the "Sunday gravy with Meatball and Sausage and Meatball combo." Went back to try an Italian sausage balls like the manager suggested. So today I wanted a full meal of a pasta. I thought about my last experience at Bettola. Nice cold draft. Only place I could think of was this place because my meal was very delicious. Manager recommendation. With the recommendation of Ashley, Manager they responded here on yelp, she mentioned to try the turkey as a meatball this time. So I did that And added an extra meat for which was a sausage meatball to my plate It was much better than the crumpled up sausage that got lost in the sauce. Also I did a rigatoni with meatballs. I do have to warn you that the rigatoni is more filling than the spaghetti so be very careful when you order any type of beverages especially with alcohol. Drinks: just water since I was full from the Rigatoni. Entree. My preference would probably be Spaghetti since it's less filling. I would really like the thicker Spaghetti counterpart bucatini. Desert. They have New York cheesecake, Ming Ding, Apple Crisp, Chocolate pie and Limoncello (Seems to be the favorite with the servers). All photos of the desert available today is uploaded. Thoughts after meal. Please put bucatini on the menu! It will be better than Rigatoni and bigger than Spaghetti! More marinara would be great. Super delicious! My boys and I ordered 3 pizzas, the Margherita, Pepperoni, and the Marilyn Monroe. Marg pizzas tend to not be my favorite as I like cheese all over the pizza, but here the cheese was melted all around. There was basil on the pizza as well, but I didn't get one on my slice, so to me, it was just like a regular cheese pizza, which is ok by me, but maybe not what you're expecting when you order a Margherita pizza. The sauce was super garlicky and the crust was spot on, the perfect combination of crispy and chewy. The Pepperoni pizza was delicious. They put the pepperoni both under and on top of the cheese, which was lovely. The pepperoni was a little on the spicy side which I really liked. The Marilyn Monroe is a white pizza with ricotta, mozz, Gorgonzola, hot honey, and crushed red pepper. It's rare you find ricotta on white pizza around here. That brought me back to my NY roots. So delicious! The rest of the items on the menu looked yummy too. We would definitely go back to try some other items. The decor was hip. You could see the kitchen which to me is a little reassuring. Wow! I was absolutely blown away by this pizza. Who knew there was more awesome pizza to be found in Rhode Island? The crust is full of beautiful dough bubbles. They don't overdo the sauce and the cheese and toppings round it off to be an overall great pie. They offer more than just pizza too. Their meatball appetizer is my favorite and my husband is obsessed with their crispy mozzarella. Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for some great food. read more

This place right here was once our go-to nice little hide away where we could go and get food that was so flavorful and delicious that we couldn't wait for our next visit. Coming from New Haven CT (pizza capital) we're very spoiled with our pizza, so when we were in the area of Providence we came across Bettola and knew we had to try it out. Just as expected, voted #1 pizza in Rhode Island, I would definitely have to agree and say that this place lived up to the expectations. Pretty Good This place is a nice small Italian restaurant. They did a nice job with the remodel, it's pretty inviting. The pasta was very good but the pizza was underdone. Our bartender did a nice job with a full bar. The bar is decent sized so you should be able to grab a stool. Mid priced food selections and drinks make the place palatable for all Tip: Bettola does not offer reservations, but instead call ahead seating. Pretty nice addition to area that could use the support. At least it's hell of a lot better than the place that was at this location before, Diversi. Let's start with the best part - the martinis! I had a pumpkin espresso martini with a butterscotch rim. It was seriously delicious. The drinks over ice come in the tiny glass overflowing with ice - also very delicious, but it is my pet peeve if I can finish a drink in 4 small sips. The beer also comes in a small glass, not a regular pint glass. Back to the positives. There is a lot of room to park on the street. The place is on the smaller side, but very warm, very welcoming, and stylish. Loved the vibe. The service was quick and nice. The food was good but a bit underwhelming. Everything tasted a bit under-seasoned and lacked flavor. I had the mushroom and buffalo pizza. Truffle pizza did not taste like truffle at all. It looked amazing but tasted plain. I took a few slices home and the next day added some herbs, garlic and seasoning - Popped them in the oven - it was SO good. I feel really bad writing this review but my experiences with Bettola haven't been great. I first tried them shortly after restaurants reopened and did takeout. They told me 45 min, got there about then and wasn't allowed inside. I waited another 45 min until they brought my food out and I drove the 3 minutes home and my food was cold. I gave them a bit of a pass because of covid and just reopening. Tuesday night one of my girlfriends and I decided to go for dinner and we ate inside. There seemed to be only one waitress so we waited to be seated. She wasn't friendly or rude. We ordered our drinks and the Arancini as our app. Both came pretty quickly. The drinks were great. The Arancini was very gummy. Then we ordered our meals. My friend ordered the chop salad with crispy chicken and a cup of the tomato stars soup and I asked the waitress if I should get the lasagna or short rib risotto. She recommended the short ribs so I ordered that. The waitress brought over my friends salad and my meal. Her salad came out with grilled chicken rather than crispy and she asked for it to be corrected and what was going on with her cup of soup. The waitress took the salad back and said the soup was coming. My meal looked fine but was 2 decent pieces of meat and a small amount of risotto. The salad came back about 3 minutes later with the crispy chicken but still no soup. We had finished our meals when the soup finally came out. Our water glasses were not refilled. The waitress was only friendly when she brought the bill. I normally take photos of all my food for my reviews and didn't bother. None of it looked pretty. Overall decent place for drinks but the food and staff are disappointing. Not worth the $77 or $88 after a 15% tip which neither of us go below 20% normally. read more

After being targeted by Bettola's aggressive (rather delicious looking) pizza marketing campaign on Instagram, my boyfriend and I decided to trek out to Cranston to give 'em a try. We've been looking for a fun new date spot, and the idea of an upscale yet homey pizza joint seemed interesting. We were extremely delighted with our experience overall! We were greeted by a friendly host who seated us almost immediately at an excellent table underneath a neon sign of the classic "Italian hand". It was a quirky and creative design touch that I found funny and unique, plus it was a nice conversation starter! The restaurant itself is modern and gorgeous with some rustic touches, like checkered cloth napkins that are synonymous with a 1950's Brooklyn pizza parlor, and vinyl diner style booths. It was cozy and relaxed, and I can see this becoming a comfortable go-to spot for an easy dinner out. Our server was Rhea, and she was fantastic! Attentive, friendly, and personable, she guided us through the extensive menu, offering her recommendations and great personality. If you can request her as a server, do it! You won't be disappointed. Although there are TONS of amazing options on the menu, we finally had to make some decisions. We started off with the Crispy Mozzarella, which is Bettola's take on Mozzarella Sticks. I loved them! They tasted fresh and not at all like the frozen fried nonsense you'd have when you were a kid. They were served with some pesto and marinara for dipping. I liked the marinara better of the two. We also asked for some bread (we were STARVING), and we were presented with a fluffy loaf of sliced focaccia bread. Although it's not on the menu, it's worth asking for, as it was yummy and flavorful, topped with rosemary and sea salt. Of course, we saved room for our entrees - the Truffalo Chicken Pizza for my boyfriend, and the Pink Vodka Pasta with Chicken for me. I was impressed with my al dente rigatoni pasta in a flavorful (if sort of watery) vodka sauce, but the crispy chicken cutlet was the best part. I could have just had that and been satisfied. It was very tender and not at all greasy, like other pieces of fried chicken I've had before. Definitely upgrade with the crispy chicken if you get a salad or a pasta! The Truffalo Chicken was a different take on the tried and true buffalo chicken flavor profile, but instead, the chicken was tossed in a truffled buffalo sauce, which was apparently one of Oprah's picks for her favorite foods in 2018. If you can't get enough of the stuff, they sell it near the entrance in bottles, along with a few other specialty Italian products like spiced nuts and infused olive oil. The pizza itself was great - just the happy medium between crisp crust and charred. Some other reviews complained of the crust being overcooked, but I thought ours was just right. I look forward to trying more of the brick oven delicacies on our return visits! We DID save room for dessert, but unfortunately, it was the low point of the meal. We split the Glazed Cake, which was a dense fudge cake with white chocolate ganache, caramel, and pretzels. It was just really heavy and really sweet. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it, and it was nice to have something sugary after all the savory wonders of the main meal, but it was a super heavy ending to a super heavy dinner. I want to try the Tiramisu Gelato next time - I think that may sit better with my stomach! We got a fabulous surprise on the way out. We actually got to meet the head chef, Derek, as he was working at the imported Italian wood fire pizza oven. You'd NEVER know it by tasting his simple yet sophisticated menu that he's entirely self taught! I was in shock! He was very friendly, and it was great to meet the man behind Bettola's impressive menu. Say hi if he's manning the oven when you go! Dessert aside, Bettola is quite possibly my new favorite Italian restaurant in Rhode Island. Even though we are quite far away from it, I would absolutely make the drive time and time again for the wonderful food, reasonable prices, and friendly service. Came here on a Saturday night and there was a bit of a wait! We ended up waiting for a while until we were the smallest party that could fit in such a Huge circular booth! So our waitress ended up seating us after waiting for a while! Im typically one to skip a drink just because I typically don't find one I love but I felt adventurous today. I can't remember which we both got but they were fantastic! We started with the eggplant rollatini and a meatball! The eggplant was so yummy and fresh, the meatball we have made better but still was good. For pizza we got the Truffalo chicken pizza which was absolutely fantastic! Perfect flavors and perfect size! Overall we had a great experience my only recommendation would be that although the super cute and comfy round booth looks great, with such a small space they could have optimized more seating tables to create more space!
