The atmosphere is very relaxing, with a comfortable yet slightly upscale atmosphere. The food and drinks are both amazing. Drinks are well prepared and the menu rotates with the seasons. The sangrias and specialty martinis are all so delicious and are expertly crafted. The pizzas are outstanding - toppings are all high quality and their weekly pizza specials are always unique and delicious. The salads, chicken entrees, and pasta are all excellent as well. Someone noticed our table wobbling. "I'll fix that for you right away." He wasn't our server. He wasn't helping with our food at all. Just went and got a tool, came back, made it steady. Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Bistro is upscale in the best way. Dark wood, brick floors, pendant lights over a small bar. The lights are dim but the room is inviting and intimate. When we arrived, it wasn't empty, wasn't slammed. Nothing felt rushed. Everything moved at the right pace, giving us time to talk, time to savor, time to just enjoy being there. Even after we paid, no one hurried us out. The room was filling up around us, but we never felt it. Fresh plates for every course. Water refilled when it emptied (not before we noticed, exactly when). Every time we said thank you, our server said "of course" like she truly meant it. The focaccia came out warm. Tear it open and you see irregular holes. That takes hours, not shortcuts. They bring whipped garlic butter because it spreads easier, but the bread's good enough alone. Four meatballs arrived, tender enough they fell apart as I tried to work them through the sauce. Took surgeon hands. Pool the red sauce on your plate or spoon some over the top of each bite. Without it, they're bland. With it, they're quite good. The pepperoni pizza came out right. Char on the crust, pepperoni curling into little grease cups, cheese stretching six inches on those first bites. The sauce is light. The crust ends taste a little like char and semolina. I'm a sauce guy. Always have been. This pizza wasn't what I look for, but the people around us all looked happy to be there and with their food. Giuseppe's making the pizza his customers want. Fruit crumble for dessert. Fresh blueberries and peaches, vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed the peach side more than the blueberries, which was unexpected. The peaches were a little less sweet. The blueberries? Really sweet. Fresh and enjoyable. Giuseppe's fills up for a reason. The service is the best I've experienced in months. I have been wanting to try Giuseppe's for quite awhile. Tonight my husband and I finally got there. We ordered calamari, and large we'll done pepperoni pizza for food. I had 2 watermelon sangria and my husband had 1 bud light. The drinks were good and the calamari was good. A little salty, but good. I can't review the pizza because after waiting 55 minutes for the pizza, we gave up and asked for the check. People who came in after us had gotten their calamari and pizza. The waitress apologized and brought the check with the pizza on it. I said I'm not paying for a pizza I never got. We ended up going up to the front desk. No explanation no apologies. Nothing taken off the bill. I do not recommend it. I gave 1 star because I had to rate to post the review read more

Kicking it off with the queer o meter. Still knocking it out with a 10! Now the low down... let's simply say it's changed. A lot. I did my 1st review about 8 years ago and we've been back a few times since. After Covid hit and life shifted keeping us at home until recently, we hadn't been able to go. Soooo... we hadn't been here since the expansion. In my opinion it's lost its charm and attention to detail. The staff, still awesome and kind. I found the portions were generous! We got the chicken parm and the order of meatballs. Both of those were okay. I didn't care for the meatballs at all, they were crumbly and on the bland side. The sauce was delish though. The chicken parm was ok. Not anything to go on about. The pasta was al dente, perhaps even a hair less then. The bread was the clincher to me, it used to be fresh warm with crispy top and soft center. It was to die for. This time 2 of the 4 pieces were hard. As for the seating it used to be small and romantic with a splash of vigor that shown through the staffs enthusiasm and the love of the food served. Now it's a bigger space and LOUD. Not romantic at all and the food "fine". We went for a Saturday night dinner and wanted something more intimate. This is not that place anymore. The music was rock, 80s and some pop mix. I can see this appealing to a younger crowd perhaps, but this old timer won't be back on a Saturday. We'll give it one more chance sometime in the future. Cheers! read more

All the food items on the menu are great. I have yet to say I did not like anything. Our go-to order is usually pizza and arancini. They come up with seasonal arancini throughout the year. Pizza is always hot and fresh (even with takeout). Restaurant can be busy on weekends, but we usually get a table since we eat early at 5pm. Anytime after that, I'd recommend reservations. Good amount of tables on the floor as well as several seats at the bar. My only complaint about Guiseppe's (and the reason for the one star deduction) is their takeout process over the phone. Guiseppe's is the only restaurant I have encountered that requires credit card payment rather than having customers pay upon pick up. In addition, it is distasteful for the employee to then ask over the phone for a tip when completing the payment. "Would you like to add a tip to your order today?" It is absolutely awkward and I'm sure a lot of patrons feel the same way. I have said no a few times and you can tell the change in the employees voice upon completing the transaction. I would rather pay upon order pickup and add my tip on the receipt (like every other restaurant) without having someone asking me awkwardly over the phone. [Please do better Guiseppe's] read more

Last minute plans led us to to this local spot tonight and it was just as good as the last time & thats excellent ! We split a Caesar salad with the best croutons ever with fresh squeezed lemon on top ! Then we split a dinner penne Regina with the crispy chicken Milanese on top ! The pappardelle bolognese was amazing, the sauce was really tasty. I would definitely get it again. It's a cute little place with an attached coffee shop. The wait staff was quick and attentive. They were quick to help my fiancé and her mother split a glass of wine and a dish. Offering an extra wine glass and asked the cook to split the food on different plates. It was nice to offer that little bit of extra effort where some places would have just said no sharing or uncharged just for mentioning it. Happy to see such great service! The dessert was tasty but it wasn't what I would call tiramisu. It was a nice light end of the meal. I'd recommend coming and enjoying some delicious Italian dishes! read more

I have been here many times and gave enjoyed their entrees and many of the specials . Tonight I had the summer squash soup as I had previously had a squash soup they featured and found it so yummy. Tonight's soup however was very disappointing. Watery and quite bland it didn't compare at all to my previous experience. Maybe the chef was having a bad day. I've been to Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Bistro in Greenville several times & have always had a positive experience, one Friday night in June was no exception. The restaurant was packed & bustling with guests, no different than any other night that I've visited, & clean per usual. The service was okay. I ordered from the special's menu...watermelon arugula salad (my go to every time it's on special), blackened mahi mahi (if you know me then you know I love mahi mahi), & the eggplant rollatini. The salad was on point, the rollatini was okay (I was expecting what I've had at other places, maybe it was the prosciutto), but the mahi was the star of the show. The fish was accompanied with basmati rice, topped with avocado & red onion, pieces of crispy chorizo lightly sprinkled over the dish, & finishing with a smoked pineapple vinaigrette (although I feel like I tasted a hit of mango)...the flavors were well balanced & paired very nicely with one another...I hope they decide to keep this on the menu for the summer. Had a nice birthday dinner with my oldest & her fiancé at a new place for me. Charming little place off Rt 44 on Rt 116 in Greenville...it was early week (Tuesday) so it wasn't too busy as they told me it gets late week/weekend. Service was prompt & attentive, I had the Penne Regina with crispy chicken & everything about it was delicious as the description made it out to be. My daughter's pear martini smelled luxurious and our choices of desserts did not disappoint, either...a nice vanilla bean gelato with an espresso topper. The garlic bread normally delicious seemed more like a day old bread (considering we ordered right at dinner hour) - I couldn't even get my teeth through two of the tiny square pieces I had. My hubby and I got an order of Pepperdella Marsala - last time was more than enough for two, but this seemed like a lunch portion!! even more disappointing is I don't even think there was a quarter piece of chicken in the dish!!! seriously, for $24.00 - very disappointed. What a Greenville gem this is indeed!! I'm kinda mad at myself for not coming here sooner to be honest. I made 5pm reservations, requested a booth although she said it wasn't guaranteed..when I arrived the booth was a go, so I loved that right from the start!!! Sat right away, water was brought prompt along with addicting delicious bread and butter, another little detail that I love. Our server Bailey was super sweet and perfectly attentive. I tried the golden apple margarita it was ok- not the best but not bad. The pumpkin arancini appetizer was phenomenal though!! Next I tried a passion fruit margarita..that was fabulous, mixed well and very fruity..I had 2 hehe. The steak bomb pizza was SO good, perfect crunchy crust, good cheese, good sauce, good toppings. It was all good!! All the food came out piping hot and so fresh to order. The atmosphere was very relaxing, decent music playing in the background and a very professional staff. For a Thursday evening the place was jammed. This must be the only pizza place around. The pizza sauce was too sweet. We had four different pizza's and they were pretty bland. All the great pizza places in Rhode Island and I could not understand why this restaurant was so busy. I give it 3 stars because the drinks and appetizers were fine. Returned to this hidden gem for another fabulous meal. Started with Snail Salad - a generous portion at a very reasonable price! It was delicious, although I prefer the snails sliced more thinly. But we didn't waste any! The warm focaccia bread and herbed butter were still amazing. I ordered the Chicken Parm, having had it recommended by two different people. It did not disappoint: two perfectly breaded cutlets, a very nice red sauce, smothered in Parmesan cheese. The pappardelle pasta was al dente. I took half home to save room for dessert. David ordered a special: Chicken breasts over braised Napa cabbage with duck fat roasted fingerling potatoes, finished with tomato butter sauce. In the interest of research, I tasted it and can report that it was to die for. He cleaned his plate. We splurged and I ordered dessert... AND martinis. The chef was offering a Chocolate Espresso Crème Brûlée, which we shared. OMG! The Peanut butter Pretzel Martinis were works of art as well. I cannot forget to mention the bartender's skills (margaritas were fantastic) and the martinis were shaken and poured personally, table side. A very classy touch. Amazing pizza and wonderful staff. I have eaten here a couple of times with my family. The food always satisfies. The owners here however really went above and beyond for me though on Christmas Eve. I was in a pinch and needed a last minute Christmas gift. I figured that they would be closed on Christmas Eve and I was right. I walked up to the door and saw that they were closed and started walking away. The owner however happened to be in the building and he saw me. Disappointed, uncomfortable and confused. My husband and I are a local and often choose Giuseppe's when in need of good Italian food and don't want to leave town. Our past experiences here have been enjoyable. We made reservations for a Saturday night knowing it would be busy. We were seated in a hallway near the bathroom and isolated from other diners and waitstaff. The reggae music playing was bizarre. When we mentioned this to the waitress she informed us that the manager picks the music and it was never changed. My husbands drink was so bad we had to send it back. Meanwhile we overheard the bartender sternly telling another table that she could only make simple drinks. Our waitress was young and not trained properly - at no fault of her own. Basic things, like asking about dessert, were forgotten about. The food is good - not memorable, and expensive when compared to similar restaurants. My fiancé and I have ordered from here take out but tonight was the first time we ate at the restaurant. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and then seated quickly and given bread. The bread and butter was absolutely delicious and we quickly finished and asked for more! We then got the meatball appetizer which was phenomenal! I love their sauce it's the perfect balance of butter to sweet. We then were told the special which sounded great but we stuck to the menu. My fiancé got the chicken parm which was cooked perfectly and delicious! I got the pappardelle Marsala and it was mostly good the sauce is very wine like. More than I've ever tasted and I probably wouldn't get it again but it was good. I think I'd go with something less wine like. Everything from start to finish is the way a restaurant experience should be. Promptly greeted and sat, moments later, bread, water, silverware and menus arrive and drink order is taken. You get the feeling this is a well trained staff and their priority is giving patrons their all. Our server was polite and knowledgeable and I wish I remembered his name. This visit we had calamari which was tender and served with a side of pepper rings and a spicy red sauce and the pasta fagioli to start. As usual both were served hot and delicous. I love the fact they are serving local Tautog fish. We've had it a few times lately at Guiseppes but this recent preparation with the light broth took it to another level. This review is strictly for take out, however I can't imagine the experience is all that different from dining in. The restaurant is usually crowded when I go in, which is always a good sign. The bolognese is amazing, best I've had in Rhode Island. The salads and pizza are also quite good. I wish the menu would change up a little from time to time but the pasta is solid and because of the lack of change you get consistently good Italian food. For the area, this is definitely a must go-to restaurant, if only because there are not many good options nearby. But seriously get the bolognese. :) read more
