If I would have had all the cupcakes with hand painted snowflakes it would have been over 100 bucks easy. For kids I didn't want to go that far in paying. They were a hit!!!! When I go in (and I go in quite a bit because of my sweet tooth & for clients gifts) the ladies in there are always nice. Yes, sometimes its busy and you have to wait a bit, but their products are well worth the wait. My clients love them and so do I. They do beautiful work, make great tasting goods, and their prices seem to be on par with other good quality bakeries I've been too. I really like their mini cupcakes, tartlets, eclairs and canolis. I have been going to this bakery for many years. It has changed ownership 2 times that I know of, maybe more. The previous owner and workers tended to be rather rude, but their cakes were always delicious. When I called to order a cake this time I was rather surprised that there was only one person working. He actually had to call me back to take my order because he was helping another customer when I called. This used to be a very busy bakery, always with multiple people working. I don't know if this is because of the COVID-19 stuff or if they just don't have a lot of business. So this time I ordered a round 2 layer cake for my friend's birthday. I picked it up on Saturday, it was confetti cake with a lemon bavarian filling. It was decorated very cute, exactly like I wanted. The one star however is because the cake was so dry, there is no way that it was freshly made. It had to be about 4 or 5 days old as dry as it was. When I spend $43 for a small round cake I expect it to be edible. I ended up throwing this cake away it was so bad. I will not be returning to this bakery. The new ownership has obviously affected the quality of their cakes. If anyone wants a bakery that has much better cake, try Butter+Cream in Los Alamitos, CA (formerly Great Dane Bakery). My family loves the scones (blueberry and the cranberry mixed fruit). I purchase them frozen and bake them at home. They have become our Sunday breakfast treat. We also like the brownies and the blueberry loaf bread. The cookies are good, too. With Covid-19 safety measures in place I feel comfortable going in to replenish our sweet treats. We had a three tier cake - two with banana nut and one with marble cake. We had a good experience when we came in to pick out a design and they gave us samples of the different cakes and creams. I have used Beverly's in the past, have been very happy. This time it was a completely different story. I ordered custom birthday cookies for my granddaughter's first birthday. I did my order with Mia, a delightful person. I wanted custom cookies in the shape of stars, the number 1, a rainbow and name plague. They were to have gold icing. I gave Mia a cookie tag to go with the color scheme. My cookies were beautiful, a bit thick, but tasted fine. When I went to place the cookies in the bag the gold on 3 of the 4 cookie designs came off on my hands. Not a little bit of gold, but enough to make a mess. These were cookies for children, it would be a gold nightmare. I called Beverly's, talked to Ashley, the manager and she told me that I did not tell them they were to go in bags. That there was nothing that Beverly's could do. I asked to speak to the owner, Maria Ferris. Ashley told me she was unavailable. At my insistence she called Maria. I asked for a partial refund as the cookies were not as expected. Ashley basically snickered at me on the phone. Saying they don't give refunds. That I had their product and it tasted good. Eventually she contacted Maria Ferris, the owner and I was told they are making an exception and she would give me a $200 store credit or $100 cash back. Keep in mind that this is only a partial refund, so you can guess that the cookies were rather expensive. I had no problem paying for a custom cookie that looks and tastes good. Beverly's bakery never admitted to an error. Ashley continued to place blame on me. Then she threw her co-worker, Mia, under the bus and blamed her. I was so disappointed. I was told my $100 refund would be credited back to my credit card, which they had on file. It is now 2 weeks and no refund. I will not go back to Beverly's Bakery. read more

Their cakes are really the best! After going for tasting at Rockwell's in Orange, then one other Asian bakery after another, we made our pick by deciding that Beverly's best is it! My cousin who used to own a deli used to get their cannollis here recommended this place. Ever since then, our family has always requested for me to get the occassion's cake here. For our wedding cakes, we got the chocolate with Bavarian cream, white cake with fresh bananas and another one with fresh strawberries. Our guests just keep asking me afterwards where did I get the cakes. For a sweet tooth craving, try their fruit tart cheesecake and you will definitely fall in love! It's even better than Portho's! Instead of special ordering my cakes, I usually opt for the day-of, pre-made cakes and choose by size and flavor. I've purchased an amazing, mid-sized birthday cake with fondant and confetti. It was the quintessential birthday cake - I've never tasted a chocolate and vanilla marble cake that was as moist and just the right amount of sweet. Today, I purchased a small-sized chocolate with strawberry filling birthday cake with fondant and frosting in the design of a bold and bright yellow sunflower! I'm sure my mother will love it and that my family members will be equally impressed. The staff always ask if I want to write something on the cake, and every time I do, I am impressed with the presentation, the simplicity, and the handwriting. I have gotten several cakes from Beverly's. The key tip: Plan well in advance. You'll need to order at least 4 weeks in advance. And it is best to go it. You can give them specific ideas and they execute wonderfully. First cake: our wedding cake. It was free with our wedding package from Anaheim Hills Golf Course. We had the tasting, and the cake was great. We got a white cake with strawberry filling and mouse for 2 layers, and a chocolate with peanut better for another layer. And I brought them my own ribbon so the cake would match the colors in the wedding. Second cake: Groom's cake. I went back and ordered this as a surprise for my husband. And I told them it was a surprise. I got a large round cake and had them make it like a hockey puck. And I had them add the Edmonton Oilers logo to the top. Result: Everyone at the wedding loved it. My husband was so surprised. Third Cake: A birthday cake for my husband. Once again, hockey themed with the logo, smaller round cake, and peanut butter filling with chocolate cake. I ordered this one over the phone and it was great. Fourth Cake: This cake was for my sister's baby shower last year. I went in and ordered to cake to look like the invitations I had made. They were yellow baby onesie with sunflower design and pink accents on the neck, arms, and legs. Once again, we got chocolate with peanut butter. Everyone commented on the cake. Beverly's did not disappoint. Yes, we usually get the same cake, but the peanut butter filling is not too sweat since it is made with the butter cream frosting. I'm not sure why this place got such good reviews. The cupcakes are cold so they're hard and not as moist as they could be. The flavor is pretty good but the consistency is what ruined it for me. I also tried the tartlets, which were good, but I found a hair in mine, that was pretty gross. In search of a place to make a cake for a special occasion that my sister and I are planning and she found Beverly's Best Bakery on Yelp. The day I came to visit her, we decided to drop by and try one of their cupcakes to see if Beverly`s was a candidate. We got a vanilla cupcake and a carrot cupcake, both with American buttercream frosting. My sister had mentioned that Beverly`s Best also does French buttercream frosting and that it`s not as sweet, but they didn`t have any French buttercream on any of their cupcakes for us to try. They also have bunch of assorted pastries to choose from. Mini pies (Banana Cream was amazing), tarts, bars, all kinds of brownies, and cupcakes as well. These are great if you don't know what to get for a dessert, you can pick 2 or 3 items and just share it with everybody! The pastries aren't labeled, so you have to figure out/ask what's what. They aren't open very late so if you have to bring a dessert to a party or something, don't procrastinate, and check the hours so you don't end up with some gross grocery store cake! read more

Okay. I love Beverly's and I accept that accidents can happen. But I did have an unfortunate experience. I bought some of the fabulous eclairs for some friends since I had been raving about everything from this place. My friend went to bite into it and when he looked there was a hair in the cream of the eclair and after that he was totally put off. As I said accidents happen and this has never happened to me before but I am a little disappointed. Pair that with the unenthusiastic service I received today and it's a little upsetting. After seeing a blog about Beverly's Best Bakery and checking out their website I decided to stop in and check it out. I am glad I did! The shop was very clean and kind of country homey. The staff AND the patrons all seemed to be friendly and in a good mood. My service was prompt and attentive and still personal and warm. I got a few things that were all good, but the outstanding item was the cannolli. I LOVE a good cannolli. To be honest, I ordered it expecting it to be disappointing as most pre-filled cannollis in a display case tend to be. The cream usually takes on funky flavors from the case and the shell gets soggy. Not so with this cannolli. The shell was light and crispy and the filling delicious. I will go back to Beverly's. Probably every time I go over to that part of town. Ugh. So I've been coming to Beverly's since last November for all of my family's baked goods/cake needs (a LOT of birthdays and various parties). I've noticed a decline in their customer service in the past few months...but today was absolutely the worst. So I walk in today and the place is pretty empty. I thought I would finally get some decent customer service. Instead, I got a worker named "Aimee" who looked like she was bored, annoyed, tired - who knows - she just had an "i don't care/I don't want to be here" attitude the entire time I was there. I wanted a cake for a joint mother's day/father's day party and she was so unhelpful that I almost considered walking out of there. I had my baby daughter with me and didn't feel like going to another bakery so thought I'd stick it out and ended up ordering a decorated cookie/cupcake combo that I've done for past parties. First of all, Aimee took forever writing out my order on the order sheet. She took so long, with her head down, absolutely no conversation or interaction with me that, once again, I seriously considered walking out on her. She gave me absolutely no ideas whatsoever in helping me choose what I want - the most unhelpful customer service representative I've ever had!! I basically just went with ideas based on past orders and she still took so long to fill out the order sheet (how long does it take to write down a SIMPLE sugar cookie order??) that I had to interrupt her and ask if I could just pay the deposit and leave. And we hadn't even got to the cupcake order...did I mention I had my BABY daughter with me who was obviously starting to fidget after 30 mins of wait time... Finally we get to our cupcake order - by this time, Aimee finally sensed my impatience and filled out that order in 2-3mins flat. Throughout the entire process, she was so unhelpful that I really wonder why she was there - esp with Beverly's reputation. ALSO, they've started charging for things that were free - like the gift wrap bow on cakes or writing on the cookies...so the prices are hiking up and with THAT kind of unhelpful customer service, this will be my last order at Beverly's. I'd rather spend half the money and just order from baskin robbins. read more

Hope you aren't on a diet! I've been looking around for a good bakery for a while. My mom had gotten some variety of treats here (Eclairs, brownies, fruit tarts...very good!) and they tasted yummy and fresh! So yummy in fact that I thought I would give this bakery a whirl for a cake. I got a beautiful cake for my husband's 40th bday. Wow! Really good! I got a huge 9" Marble cake with raspberry mousse and filling. Moist cake! Great combination! Beautifully decorated with a cream colored butter frosting & chocolate fudge swirls. Worth the $50. Hands down awesome! The entire staff is very helpful and friendly. When I went to them I had no idea What I was in for. There was quite a few people in line when I got there last Saturday afternoon. The owners niece helped us out with our custom birthday cake request. A coors light beer can cake! She helped us pick a picture, she gave us taste tests for the chocolate filling and the icing. Yum. They've really improved their customer service. The Good: Consistently good baked goods ranging from cookies to cakes. Small cakes are great for a small dinner party or office. Be aware of: Cakes sell out rather quickly, so it's best to either order ahead or go first thing in the morning and buy what they have. Be prepared to: Spend more money. As a person who seeks out neighborhood bakeries in cities all over, I don't have issue with this. But those used to Costco or Ralph's will be surprised. They have a large book of cakes that they've done before and aren't afraid to take on a challenge of doing something different. I got an Almond cake with the chocolate mousse filling and French buttercream frosting and it was a huge hit. The reactions varied from an uncomfortable "I think I'm having a cakegasm" to a rather depressing "My wedding cake tasted like bat guano compared to this cake" Aside from that I love their fruit and lemon tarts and their individual chocolate cakes are always moist and delicious. The place was mom-pops style which was quite adorable..But the selections were limited..I wished they had more selections... The workers were warm and friendly... Since I don't live in that area, I probably wouldn't go there again... It opens at 7 though, which is kinda nice for home-style bakeries... I had tried Beverly's about 5 years ago but can't remember so I stopped in a tried a few things. The mousse tart I had was decent although the tart crust seemed like it was frozen and not from scratch. The cupcake tried (chocolote w/ choc frosting) was just ok. The frosting was off the chart sweet.......soooooo sweet that I couldn't even taste the cake. The double chocolate cookie I tried was pretty good and I would order that again. My coffee was absolutely scalding. Maybe the hottest coffee I have ever been served and I burned my mouth. Geeez people turn that temp down some. Also I asked for room for milk and wasn't given any room which made it tough to cool down. I know this isn't a coffee place but seriously. It tasted like HOT Folgers to me. I won't get my coffee here again. I asked if they will have Gingerbread men cookies. They said yes so I will come back and try those. This is the second cake I ordered from here and very disappointed for the second time. They had a cake design on display in the store. I pointed to it and asked for the exact same design. When I picked it up, it looked nothing like it. When I pointed it out, they "tried" to fix it, but couldn't. They just said, "that's the best out designer can do. Why do I love Beverly's Best? I will tell you. I went to multiple places for cake tasting for my wedding and this was the last place we went. As soon as we walked in we knew it was where we were getting our wedding cake. The shop felt like walking into your grandmas kitchen. The cake was beautiful and delicious!
