In-house made Hummus appetizer. Requested only olives, cucumber, & pita bread. Fantastic.

I had an hour before my nail appointment a couple of doors down so I decided to have some lunch here. I'm trying to eat low carb (need to lower my A1C since I'm diabetic) so was staying positive that there's options for me here. I was greeted by a couple of friendly staff and was seated right away in the bar area. I bring my own electrolytes powder mix with me (need to hydrate more) so I mixed that in with my ice water. My only wish is for restaurants to offer other sugar-free drinks other than Diet Coke/Diet Pepsi or iced tea. I get tired of drinking those every time I eat out so I bring my own instant mix-ins for my ice water since I like different fruit flavors. I went with their fried chicken wings appetizer and their hummus platter with just olives and cucumber. They still included the pita bread so I just took that home with me. The chicken wings came piping hot, crunchy, and juicy, perfect! Their in-house made hummus was delicious as well. Glad I got a moment to enjoy lunch by myself before getting my nails done. Worth coming back.

The BEST Wings I have had in YEARS! Sorry no pic, I eat them to fast. The fish and chips were outstanding, and that tartar was hELLA good. Jorge was a great help. Definitely worth a try.

Amazing, fancy bread pudding. Definitely recommend

I'm really surprised I haven't posted a review for BTG yet bc it's one of my favorite places. I love the food, the casual sports bar ambience, and the drinks are always amazing. The services is always fast and friendly without being annoying and in your face. It's just very chill and relaxed there. My favorite thing is there bread pudding, it's not only delicious but they serve it all fancy and Instagramable. I've brought quite a few people here now, and they all seem to love it as well. I've even brought my toddler before bc they have a big seating area with tables and booths.

Sometimes bar food can be pretty basic and cheap, but the peppers were nicely grilled and the chicken was juicy. I had their sweet potato fries which were really good too! They have a condiments bar with different sauces. I got the DTF sauce for my fries which was fire and some green salsa to put on my sandwich which gave it an extra kick. Definitely not a welcoming place ONLY because of the staff. People there were very cool to me and my friend, but as a female, the female staff were the absolute rudest possible. What an awful attitude and experience. Wow. I even had the real "pleasure" to talk to a couple girls that were there but off that night (employed there, sadly). Their pretentious attitudes wouldn't make it anywhere with any class... but apparently they get away with discrimination just fine. Outright discrimination and bullying. I won't describe here why, but ladies... if people there talk to you... they won't like you, because you take from their tips?! Apparently. The female bartenders I met are horrendous bullies. So my kind message to them... if you want better for your lives and are THAT miserable to treat a human being or any life that way, DO better. They also have large screens, making it perfect for anyone who wants to catch a game (I was fortunate enough to first stumble upon this taproom when the World Cup was still on). What makes this place even better is that they have an amazing food truck vendor serving delicious tacos & burritos out on their spacious beautiful outdoor patio. I'd never had chicken and waffles before, I always thought that was a weird and silly combination, and I still think that. The waffle was okay, not crispy enough for my taste, but the honey butter served with it was very good. The standout though was the chicken. 2 deep-fried pieces that were as good of chicken as I have ever eaten in my life. The breading was flaky and crunchy while the chicken was moist and tender. I could've eaten much more as the pieces were rather small. When I was growing up, just about every restaurant I went to offered fried chicken, now I can't seem to find it anywhere. If you've been foolish enough or bored enough to read any of my other reviews, you know I don't eat beef, so I have a ton of chicken. This was some of the best.

The fish tacos were solid about $17 for two with no sides and a salmon pita which was also really solid, albeit a bit fishy (I know, I know, it's salmon) but again, no sides, just a piece of salmon on a grilled pita bread with a sauce. Overall, it was A-ok. The calamari app was solid, but a smaller portion, if you're planning on sharing with a larger table. When we arrived, everything seemed fine. Our waitress took our order, but we noticed she didn't have a notepad, which isn't unusual. However, she had my boyfriend repeat his order several times and eventually started writing it down on a napkin while continuing to confirm the order with him. We brushed it off because mistakes happen. A short while later, another couple came in and sat near us. By that point, we had already been waiting over 10 minutes for our food. The waitress took their order without any issues and left. What surprised us was that our food came out at the same time as theirs, even though we had ordered much earlier. From what we could tell, they ordered about the same amount of food that we did. When the food was brought out, the server initially tried to give our order to the other couple. They had to tell him it wasn't theirs before he brought them the correct food and then gave us ours. I can't say for certain whether our food had been handled by them, but it was still concerning. More noticeably, our fries were only lukewarm to cold, which made it seem like our food had been sitting for a while before it was finally brought to us. The biggest issue for us, however, wasn't the food. My boyfriend noticed early on that one of the waiters appeared to be watching us from a distance throughout most of our visit. I didn't notice it at first, but once he pointed it out, I began paying attention as well. Since there were only a few customers in the restaurant and we were the only customers of color, it made us feel uncomfortable. Every time our waitress returned to the dining area, she immediately looked directly at our table instead of naturally scanning the room or checking on other tables first. It gave us the impression that she was making sure we were still there, and it left us feeling singled out. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, especially because we've enjoyed coming here in the past. While the food itself tasted good, the service and the way we felt during our visit overshadowed the meal. Unfortunately, because of this experience, we won't be returning anytime soon.

Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.

We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with seats at the community table. Bonus: the other guests were super welcoming, which just added to the fun, communal feel. We hit happy hour, and wow--it's a good one. Tons of interesting bites and a solid drink lineup. I went with a whiskey sour, my friend had the ginger beer on draft (very refreshing), and we shared the prawns, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac & cheese. Everything was seriously delicious. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) All in all, such a fun, lively spot. I'll definitely be back for more bites and cocktails.
