This is my first visit to Bhan Baitong Thai. It was suggested by a friend for our group meeting. They have no trouble seating a large party as the place was not busy at all. I had high expectation of the Thai boat noodle I ordered. It looked good when it arrived. Alas beef slices were overcooked and very tough. The soup base was salty for my taste. I asked it to be very spicy and it was so. Serving size was as expected. I might come back if invited but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Love the service here! This is my second time here and it feels so "at home." I'm super excited that mango sticky rice is back in season because that was my favorite dish! I also really enjoy the pad kra pow over rice with fried egg! They can also tailor the spice level to how you like it and they have the spice tray in case you want to add more spice!

Bhan Baitong is your typical neighborhood Thai restaurant. Food is pretty basic - if you order spicy, it won't be up to Thai spicy levels. It is set in a strip mall. I visited on a weekend and the mall was so quiet that I was worried the restaurant was closed (it wasn't). My pad see ew was fine. My husband ordered his pineapple curry spicy and was disappointed to find that it wasn't spicy at all. I am a spice wimp and I could eat it. The interior is pleasant and the service is good. I wish I could have given this place 3.5 stars. It's not a place I would go out of my way for, but if I was in the area and looking for a lunch special, Bhan Baitong would fit the bill. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Small Thai cafe I found while scrolling through different places on Google maps. Same way as you will find it as well most likely. It's a clean, small, friendly spot with genuinely nice and super accommodating staff. I came in right before closing, and no one rushed me or made me feel like I was holding them up. That part was great. But the food... that's where that's where I had a problem. I am no Thai person, but the flavors were just off. I've eaten Thai food all over Los Angeles, and this didn't taste like any Thai I know. The Pad Thai, fried rice and Tom Ka, all felt completely out of balance maybe that's how they do it in some regional style, but it didn't hit right. I think the biggest problem is how they prepare their chicken. It tasted the same in every dish: rubbery, chewy, and flavorless. It honestly felt like they made a giant batch of chicken in the morning and just reused it across everything. You can even see it on the pictures, exact same chicken reused everywhere. Very disappointing. Very kind people but the food wasn't good. I won't be back.

One of our favorite Thai restaurants in the area! We are regulars here and come for date night often. The pad Thai is cooked to perfection and we always pair the pineapple fried rice with a green curry. It's the perfect combination. My man loves their Thai iced teas and always orders one when we arrive. The service is great and the staff is always friendly. 10/10 would recommend

I'm so happy to find a legit authentic Thai restaurant in South OC. This place is located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. We went around their opening time so it was still empty with just us and another set of customers. Angels wings were very well seasoned, crispy and juicy! Most Thai restaurants around me don't offer angel wings anymore so I was very happy to find a restaurant that offers it. Thai boat noodles - we asked for spicy and they really packed the heat for us. The portion was really big, maybe a bit too big for boat noodles since it's usually a small street food dish but we enjoyed the flavors. Again most restaurants don't offer boat noodles as an option so we were happy to eat it. Pad Seewe - the flavor was good but the portion felt a bit smaller than other places. We asked for spicy and for this dish it wasn't spicy enough. Thai Milk Tea - the large was huge and I liked that it was sweet but not sickeningly sweet. It had good flavor. Mango sticky rice - the mango was ripe with a slight sourness which was a good contrast to the sweet sticky rice. The restaurant is spacious and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely come back again when I have a craving for Thai food again!

We came here on a Friday night, not so busy and I really wanted to fall in love with this place. I rated it a 3.5 and that's just because of how particular I am with my pad thai, I could taste the oil in their noodles and it just was too much for me. The service was really great tho, very attentive and kind, I would come back for just the spring rolls because of the fried crispy wontons inside and the beef green curry was full of flavor and just enough spice. The mango sticky rice was ok, the cream on top wasn't good. The Thai tea was a bit bland. Just missing that extra kick you'd get from Thai tea. The setting was quant, cozy. I realize how much people love this spot and maybe it's just me, but I just couldn't get myself to really enjoy it as much as I'd like.

Delicious food with great flavor and plenty of parking. Good variety of food to include vegetarians in our lunch group. The khao soi noodles are like curry noodles with crunchy noodles and rich in flavor. For some people spicy levels are lower compared to other place, so if you like spicy foods in general, I suggest ordering higher levels of spiciness. I usually order mild and medium was a good level for me. Service is good and we usually enjoy our experience here. Note that when you come in larger groups, tips are already included in the check. We mistakenly gave them hefty tips a few times here.

Came in in a Friday late afternoon for lunch and I ordered the spicy basil chicken with veggies had the normal plate not lunch and iced tea $23. Staff nice and accommodating food average.

Bhan Baitong (often phonetically referred to as "Bua Baitong" or "Bush Baitong") in Lake Forest is a family-owned Thai restaurant known for its authentic flavors, cozy atmosphere, and excellent value, particularly its lunch specials. It is widely considered a "hidden gem" tucked away in a quiet strip mall off Rockfield Blvd.

The food was amazing. I got sick and tired of pad thai but this place brought back my love for pad thai. The two women that assisted us were very kind and helpful. They both work superhard. The ambiance was very quiet and it the place was very clean.

Love that this plaza has plenty of parking to offer. It was not packed at all and super cute interior. They did not have chili oil but their chili sauce was delicious. We ordered from both lunch special and regular entrees and were honestly happy with everything! The food had great flavor and the prices were great! Lunch specials are from 12-3 I think and it's something I would not miss out on. Totally worth it! The most surprising dish was their house soup. It was free of charge with the lunch special and it was DELICIOUS! The broth had plenty of flavor and I was savoring every slurp! Wish I would have ordered dessert! Til next time

She confirmed that it was. While I have not dined at all OC Thai restaurants to compare, they did a great job here and I would come back. My Spicy eggplant with chicken and brown rice was excellent. The portion size was above average which is critical for this guy that burns through food like a Ford F350 burns through gasoline. They gave and adequate amount of veggies (and you cannot have too many veggies in this dish especially peppers) and a good portion of chicken. You choose spice level on a scale of 1 to 10. I picked 3 as a guess and would not go much higher than that next time. Their brown rice is incredible--you will not find better anywhere. Service is efficient, respectful but no time to sit at your table and chat with you. One Asian woman was serving the entire restaurant and the pickups and did a great job. She was as efficient as 3 teens combined at any retail store. LOL But don't come here if you are in a mad rush. I really liked the atmosphere here. While the place in general could use a deep cleaning during their closed day I really liked the atmosphere inside which they kept cooler on a hot day (bring an extra shirt or jacket). Good place for dining alone, friends meal, family, date night or pre-romantic dinner. Everyone will feel comfortable here. There is no Valet, but a large parking lot of free and easy parking.
