Oh my goodness. Where to begin? First of all, I wish I lived closer to this restaurant. I would come weekly if I could. Bhan Thai Lao has only been open in Vacaville for just over a month! And damn is it good. We started our meal with the fresh roll appetizer, which comes with shrimp by the way. It's not stated in the item description, so we had to ask. I would suggest they add that to the description for the future even though there's a photo of the rolls in the appetizer section. The rolls were extremely fresh, the rice paper was bouncy and perfectly chewy, the veggies had a great refreshing crunch to them, and the shrimp was not chewy at all. The peanut sauce was very creamy and I wish they had given a little more (we love dipping our rolls with lots of peanut sauce). Now, on to our entrees. I'm always looking for solid, authentic boat noodle soup with rich flavors that give your taste buds a roller coaster ride and this place is impeccable. The broth had a depth of flavor that I haven't tasted in other boat noodle soups that I've had at other restaurants. The meat was tender and soaked up all the deliciousness of the broth. The noodles were perfectly cooked. The fried garlic was plentiful and the veggies weren't overly cooked either. The entirety of the dish was well-balanced and a perfect portion size. I was also able to customize my spice level, and chose medium, which was the right amount of spice without jeopardizing the flavor of the dish. I also tried a bit of my husband's Tom Yum noodle soup and that was delectable. My husband loves a good Tom Yum and this broth was clear but full of the signature flavor of the dish. He also chose medium spicy and it added another dimension to the broth. His noodle soup also came with a good amount of fried garlic, as well as various meats! He also mentioned that the noodles were a perfect consistency and cooked well. Service was very attentive, and the ambiance of the restaurant was very quiet and peaceful. We did come during the non-lunch rush time, but there was plenty of seating at the restaurant and it was a great spot to relax and have a good meal. Overall, don't sleep on this amazing new Thai restaurant, especially with its reasonable prices, great portion sizes, and wonderful service. I can't wait to be back. read more

Had a work lunch meeting here on Friday. Wasn't sure what to expect. Sits on the corner of a little strip mall that you would probably drive by and never notice. Do yourself a favor and don't try by... instead stop in. Has kind of a cafeteria vibe but is well maintained and clean. The hosts are super friendly and will answer questions about the menu. The 3 of us ordered family style and ordered the veggie egg rolls, drunken noodle, gra prow spicy chili basil, spicy lao sausage and spicy Thai fried rice. Everything was fantastic with just enough heat in most of the dishes. My favorite was the drunken noodles. Some of the best I have ever had. Ordered Beef tripe Larb and sticky rice from here for the first time and i can definitely say that this place is authentic thai food.. I've eaten at multiple Thai restaurants and only very very few taste authentic.. First, the Larb wasn't sweet as almost every thai restaurant around is sweet and they even serve the beef larb with tripe, which not alot of Thai restaurants do. The sticky rice is cooked exactly how I remembered it from my childhood when my grandmother used to to make it and not so soggy like every other restaurant which most thai restaurants these days dont even serve. Found my new favorite place for Thai and Lao food. The place is small and cute and food was delicious. Staffs are friendly and service was great. We ordered fresh spring rolls, boat noodles, tum Lao, raw beef larb, yellow curry, chicken pho and pork pad see ew. I didn't get to snap photos of most of the items because everyone dug into them as soon as it came out. But I was able to snap tum lao and raw beef larb. Pretty sure everybody and their momma knows about their boat noodles now. They have a whole menu of authentic Thai/Lao noodle soups and I hope they never take them off, because their soups hit the spot every time! Aside from the soups (tom yum, kao poon, kao piak, kasoy, etc) they have a whole menu to order from. I loooove the nam khao here so much, super flavorful but not spicy. I've tried a bunch of their dishes here, and each one is very authentic and cooked fresh. The parking lot is shared and a little weird, but you should be able to find a spot around the building. after having some awful "thai" food at rice barn, we had to cleanse our palate. this place made everything better khao poon is good. nothing extravagant, nothing offensive. larb was excellent. heavy herbs, heavy seasoning, plenty greens mixed vegetable tempura was good, though i wouldn't consider it tempura - it has a heavier batter. large portions and good variety but the individual size of each piece was inconsistent. i think that led some pieces to be overcooked. the kids enjoyed it, so it's a win for us. khao soi was decent. probably our least favorite of all dishes, but it could be a style difference. this is a very sweet khao soi. we prefer pungent, herbally khao soi style. service was GREAT! they were very nice and accommodating to our 2 toddlers this was the only good restaurant that we found during our vacaville trip. kiki's chicken and rice barn were both terrible, despite good yelp scores read more

We ordered the papaya salad (mild was fairly spicy), pad thai with chicken, boat noodle, and panang curry with two types of tofu (fried and steamed). We went on a weeknight and it wasn't very busy. Great food and fast too. I love the floor and the sincere kindness the waiter offers. He is very nice and will accommodate your special requests like extra peanut sauce and extra basil in the spring rolls, so don't be afraid to ask. But I will tell you if you run cold to bring a coat while eating, it's a very old building and the landlord doesn't have a heating unit. Wanna try something exciting? This is the new spot to eat delicious Thai food. We came because of the pics and it was exactly what we were craving. Not many places sell fried pompano fish. We enjoyed the pra lad prik pompano fish. It tasted fresh and the sauce was a bit spicy and super flavorful. Also got the Quail and it reminded me of my family's recipe.
