I'm so surprised to see the low rating! This is the best Indian place I've had in many years, and my friend from India who's now lived in the US for over 6 months claims this is the best Indian food she's had outside of India. It's a bit pricey, but portion size is generous and quality is amazing. Their naan is fresh, flavors are balanced, and spice level is high so beware if you're not used to it. I enjoyed their mango lassi and coffee, and both times I've been I've been too full to try dessert. Their servers are attentive and make sure to keep your drinks filled. It feels like a pretty fancy restaurant but you don't need to dress up. Highly recommend!! read more

The owners Srini and Ravi Reddy have created a new age fusion restaurant in New Jersey which needed something other than the regular butter chicken and chole bhature menu that every NJ indian restaurant has a plethora of. I'm really confused. This place just opened. I was actually there on April-9-2017 and they said they weren't quite open yet and would be open the next day. A woman was apologetic and gave me a raincheck for 25% off. Another Indian place (Divine Curry) had opened in this same storefront about a year ago, and closed by the fall 2016. So what's with all these other reviews? Yes, this seems to be the right address, but these 48 older reviews must be from some previous location. Yelp's policy has always been to start a new entry for moved restaurants. So I can't say I've actually eaten here yet, but none of these other reviews are from people who have either. This is definitely a place that I will be coming back to! We tried them out for the first time on a Friday night. Located within walking distance to the train station, it's convenient to get to and from the train. The place was PACKED. We had to sit on the lower level, virtually on top of the diners sitting next to us. After a few minutes, the server came over and she took our order. I got the Shrimp Curry, the soup and we split an order of non. My boyfriend got the chicken. Before I start my rant of the wait time, I do want to say that this place was filled to capacity and we did NOT have a reservation. That being said, wow. Water was given almost immediately but our two beverages took forever to come out. My starter soup eventually came out almost 30 minutes later. (It was delicious). After that, I was craving some great Shrimp Curry just by judging how wonderful their soup was. This craving turned to a rumbling in my stomach as time slowly went by. If you see this place is packed- make sure you allocate enough time (an hour and a half) to get in and out. That being said, I don't want this to be only about how long we waited because my complaints only subsided after trying the delicious food. WOW. This is probably one of, if not, the BEST indian food in Westchester. There came a point during my meal that instead of devouring it all down quickly, I sat back and started eating slowly to appreciate each and every bite. It was delicious. Another great thing about this restaurant is that the staff really takes the time to make sure you're happy. A manager came by and asked how everything was and I asked for hot sauce. He went to the back and concocted a mixture that blended in perfectly with my meal. Great customer service. All in all, I had a great time. I will, without a doubt, be returning. Once we left, we did say to ourselves that although we waited awhile, you can't mess with perfection and we were fine with our wait time once we finished eating. Our first time here...and was not disappointed! Our two apps (a scallop special and a mushroom app were flavorful & spicy. A nice cold one served in a Frosty Pilsner glass was a nice accompaniment! Entree - My Lamb Chops were cooked perfectly and tasty. I was apprehensive about ordering this dish as there were only 4 chops (I was HUNGRY), but I only ate 3. The dish was served with a real nice aromatic rice, and an Indian salad. My wife had Chicken Madras which was DELISH!! We had to pay for the Garlic Nan Bread, which usually comes with a meal elsewhere, but it did not disappoint. Desert was excellent too. (Can't remember the name of the deserts). The restaurant is a little small but the management has set it up nicely, although I wasn't particularly a fan of the sitar music that played throughout the restaurant. Overall the food was mediocre. It isn't the worst Indian food I've had, but it's definitely not the best. Not even for the area. The chicken tikka masala, and the tandoori chicken could actually be some of the worst I've tasted in a while. On the other hand, the plain naan and the goat curry were spot on. All in all, not a restaurant I'm going to revisit. I would give this restaurant a 2.5 star rating, but I'm rounding up to 3. We called BHOG this evening, exhausted and craving curry delivery, having received a menu in our mailbox - so we thought we'd try somewhere new. After carefully pointing out we were somewhat far away but still well inside their delivery radius, the restaurant confirmed they could deliver to our address. We then placed a (thankfully cash) order. Nearly an hour later (at 8:45pm, after all other delivery options had stopped taking orders for the evening - the joys of living in Northern Westchester) they called to say the person taking the order didn't realize where we were located and that their driver did not want to deliver to us, so could we please come and pick the food up? !!! So, we heard and suffered every word from our nearby guests. Service seems to be "confused" and haphazard - as if, it's not clear who on staff is responsible for what. Given the pricing, these things should be given some attention. PRO: Dishes are flavorful and rich with interesting blends of spices. I had Lamb Vindaloo - Fantastic. Wife had Tandoori Lobster. We have been going to Bollywood from the week it opened its door. After Bollywood closed up and Bhog opened, we were there for dinner immediately. We did not like it. After almost 2 years, I was so tired to five to Mt. Kisco for our favorite Indian restaurant. So we decided to give Bhog a try again. Wrong decision! They do not have a buffet for lunch, but "combo." You choose one item (chicken, for instance) and 3 items come without your choice. It continued to be pretentious. I was looking at the menu, and chicken Tikka Masala is $19??? Seriously? I have eaten at most of the Indian restaurants in Westchester and Bhog is definitely among the best. We came here for dinner on a weeknight and were seated right away. Although the service was friendly and attentive throughout the dinner, It is the food that really shines at this place. We had the vegetable samosas for appetizers which were delicious and ordered the chicken biryani, chicken vindaloo, and daal for entrees. The chicken biryani was the tastiest I've ever had, especially along with the spicy sauce that they serve it with. The vindaloo was especially fiery, but it was so good I couldn't stop eating it! Lastly, the Double Ka Meeta for desert was quite the experience. I've never had bread pudding so light and flavorful. The food at Bhog was truly delicious. read more

His good karma of contributing a delicious chicken appetizer and miniature, cone shaped dessert as unique in ts appearance as it was delectable, helped make the opening night of "Radiance", the newest production from Axial Theatre (www.axialtheatre.org) an even more delicious, professional theatre experience. We recently moved from NYC to northern Westchester. My only gripe about moving to the suburbs is the lack of quality indian and thai food, that is until we discovered Bhog for Indian! We happily drive 16 minutes south to Pleasantville for the Bhog experience. The food is delicious and the customer service is outstanding. We've been to Bhog twice before this weekend for dinner and the food was good, though the service was slow. This Saturday however was a disaster. The service was awful. We were seated and ignored for 15 minutes until asking for a waiter. After ordering drinks it was 10 minutes before 3 of the 4 arrived and mine took 10 minutes longer still. The food was served similarly. 2 of 4 main courses came out and between 5 & 10 minutes later the other 2 dishes were served. Though the bussing staff was good - we had all the water we needed, and plates were cleared efficiently, the waiters were apparently too busy to acknowledge our existence and we weren't able to get their attention for things we needed - more sauce & another round of drinks. Then there was the food itself. I ordered something called a passion sour to drink, but didn't read the description carefully enough, so it's my own fault, but caramel and passionfruit & lime DO NOT mix well. It was awful. I caution you to avoid it at all costs. The appetizers were standard - pakoras & chicken tikka & all were fine. The entrees, however, left alot to be desired. I had a malai kofti that was thick & tasted old. I'm not sure what was in it, but it I couldn't eat most of it. The tandoori chicken was good, but the chicken korma was tasteless. One other observation - I agree with the other poster who noted that this place is not cheap. You expect better for this much money, After all that, we decided that while every now & then a bad meal can happen, the service at this place is going from bad to worse, so we won't be going back. read more
