Great breakfast sandwiches and amazing sweets to get your day going stopped by when I came out to Monte Rio for work and was well worth the stop would come again

BEST SMOKED SALMON CHOWDER ever! Then great coffee, delicious breads (apple, chocolate cherry, banana, pumpkin, etc etc!) Sandwiches are amazing on their ciabatta bread. Plus really cool owner and staff! It's really lovely to sit at their tables or outside and enjoy the view of the golf green and redwood trees as well.

I was so fortunate to stay near Bia and try their incredible chocolate chocolate cake which was so good I had it twice. That's not a typo--it's just super chocolatey! Bia is a proper café with friendly staff and a wide range of coffees, teas and more importantly utterly delicious cakes and baked goods. They do panini and quiches too. Lots of seating inside and out (it's dog-friendly, like most places around the Russian River), plus you even get to chat with the amazing owner who greets everyone with warmth and regales you with fascinating tales. There really is a massive range of all sorts of baked yumminess, including their chocolate chocolate cake (see photo). I should have asked the owner if they knew how to make bara brith, being a fellow Celt. Bet it would be lush. Next time!

Fresh baked breads, pastries and lots of others deliciously made food.

Delicious breads warmed to perfection. Super friendly and very nice staff. The assortment of fresh breads to choose from keeps me coming back time and time again.

Piknik is mostly known for great coffee and biscuits, including biscuit sandwiches and other scrumptious pastries. We tried a few things, which included the banana bread, a biscuit breakfast sandwich, and a few coffees. I was very impressed by the biscuits. The texture is great, and the crunch on the outside is perfect. The sausage, egg, and cheese were a great complement. The coffee was good. My grandma enjoyed the cappuccino, which she often says is difficult to prepare properly. The banana bread was also impressively moist, even after a few days, as we ate it for breakfast during our trip. The staff here was super nice and hospitable. I enjoyed the ambiance, too. Piknik is both a cafe and a market, so they have lots of great gifts to browse as you're waiting for coffee and food. Certainly worth a stop for a quick breakfast if you're in Guerneville.

Got the turkey sandwich and it was a travesty. I had no idea it would come hot-- that should be noted. I told the cashier I was packing it with me for the river. I don't want sticky Dutch crunch bread and HOT lettuce... I guess my bad for not asking. But then the turkey... one single sad slice running the length of an 8" piece of bread. For $16. Absolutely absurd. I only waited as long as I did to get a premium sandwich. After all that, they didn't even wrap it to go and I had to plop the sticky mess into a box myself. Thanks. Giving 3* because they have cute snacks/drinks and the smoked salmon and biscuit for the "Sea Biscuit" were well done. It didn't have the promised shallots though, and all the capers were concentrated in the middle. Not a super pleasant surprise. Don't offer food you can't make correctly while busy. And fire that blond guy who was walking around like he'd never seen a kitchen before.

I appreciate that it's a local business that supports other local businesses, family owned and operated, and is a beloved part of the community. The barista knows the orders for the regulars and seemed to know when someone wanted a chat versus needed caffeine and not up for talking. My oat milk mocha latte is always delicious and finished too quickly. There is a variety of rotating baked goods and a few easy breakfast options (like yogurt parfaits, frittata slices, and breakfast burritos) that have always been delicious. The homemade pastries are seriously amazing. Today, my scone (gluten free pear, ginger, and cardamom) was so yummy I got a second one to go (there isn't always a gf option for pastries available so especially enjoyed this one). Someone said their almond croissants were the best they had ever had. And they've had croissants all over. The coffeehouse is super cute, with nice indoor and outdoor seating options. The parking lot is easy to navigate. They also have my absolute favorite pronoun sign. One of the few places I'll always recommend and always stop in.

Roadhouse has a cozy, slightly gritty charm, with shared board games, indoor and outdoor seating, and a small selection of fresh baked items, including cream cheese blueberry coffee cake, morning buns, and banana walnut muffins. It opens very early, which customers dedicated to their caffeine, like myself, will appreciate. My Mexican mocha with oat milk, cinnamon and mild spice was well made, and hit the spot.
