I got there about 7:15pm and the doors were locked and the Open sign was turned off. Man, I really hate writing bad reviews but man, this place was terrible. I have NO CLUE how this place has as many stars as it does. I guess Gilbert/Mesa people don't know what Korean food is really supposed to taste like?! I ordered White rice, corn, zuchinni, onions and pepper, japchae, cheese, Ribeye bulgogi and extra protein of spicy pork, Koren BBQ sauce and a side of zesty ginger, sesame oil. What I got was cold shaved beef with no flavor, hard cold flavorless dried out japchae, no cheese, missing extra spicy pork protein, missing Korean BBQ sauce, missing side of zesty ginger and a splash of sesame oil... Oh with maybe half a scoop of rice. For what was paid, the lack of quality and quantity in their food, definitely never coming back again. It really goes to show how much they really care about their establishment to send out a delivery like this. Extremely disappointed. Only ordered here because my neighbor recommended this place, and I ended up sending him a video of it complaining how everything was, oh so wrong. Holy mother of heaven this place is a amazing. It's like the chipotle of Korean Barbeque. There are so many different toppings and sauces that you could have something completely different each time you go. Since you can get as many toppings as you want, load up and make the bowl last a while. Mine lasted me two full meals. Also, they allow you to do half and half of 2 different proteins. It's not advertised but after seeing others in Yelp post about it, I asked and was not met with any resistance. 4 of my friends went to get Bibio the day of and day after I tried it for the first time, and they all loved it just as much as I did! You choose brown or white rice or salad greens as a base, load up on as many toppings as you want, pick a protein and top it all off with a sauce if you'd like. We enjoyed the rice bowls for lunch today. I had the beef bulgogi and my husband ordered the spicy chicken. Both proteins were well cooked and seasoned (and large servings). There was a wide assortment of veggies and toppings to choose from, including delicious sauces. In addition to the bowls we sampled the Korean Fried Chicken wings which didn't disappoint. Bibio will definitely be added to our regular rotation, can't wait to return to sample the hotpots which look to be coming soon! read more

I was blown away by how good this one's. I got a salad base with spicy pork and beef with a bunch of veggies and creamy sauce. Nothing was overly spicy. It was all perfect. They make it in front of you. I even added a fried egg on top. It was the best lunch I have had all year. I'm sad they don't have more locations because it really is awesome. They bring the food to you for your safety (since a lot of times the food can be super hot!), and noticed that my table needed an extra bowl to help share--without us even saying anything. Went here with a couple of friends and it was really good. Being first timers, it's similar to your pick and choose toppings like your local poke or Chipotle...I decided to get everything. Man was it good. I also have a dairy allergy and the gentleman was really nice and accommodating to my allergy, just wished the woman would have told me which sauces were dairy free. As we were leaving I noticed a sign on the glass with all of the allergies, wish I would have known. I come here maybe once a month as it's usually a place I pass by on my way home. It's right next to the chipotle which is always busy, but in my opinion, this place is way better. Roughly same price and it's the same style of restaurant. Go down the line and pick your own stuff. Meat was ice cold (even before it was cooled down by the cold toppings), didn't taste fresh, and had a ton of fat. Portion was tiny.

This place wrecked my stomach for 7 hours. I ate here at night, and the following afternoon, I experienced the worst cramps and stomach pain I've EVER felt. I felt like something was really wrong. I guarantee their Kimchi and other fermented veggies are completely rotten by the end of the day. They are sitting exposed for 8+ hours at room temperature (slightly chilled). That is a recipe for disaster, and I should have thought about that before ordering. How can this be allowed by the health department? Live bacteria food sitting at near room temp for hours... that's just crazy. After reading the reviews, a couple other people complained of the same horrible experience. I'm going to report this to the health department because they cannot continue serving rotten kimchi and veggies to people. They seriously need to keep the kimchi in a closed container, in the refrigerator, AT ALL TIMES. It's FERMENTED CABBAGE PEOPLE. If even 1 tiny drop of foreign bacteria lands on the pile of kimchi (which it will, since it's exposed all day long) the pathogens will rapidly multiply and become a dangerous food offering. In my opinion, this is one step worse than poke bowl places who leave raw fish sitting our for 8 hours exposed. Worse, only because kimchi is loaded with bacteria from the start. But, that's for a different review. I will say, the food did taste good overall, but you can't taste all pathogens. If they changed their act, and showed some care for basic food safety standards which the health department requires, then this place could have been one of my go to spots. But, after experiencing what I did from my first visit, that will probably be my only visit, unless and until I feel confident they have changed their standards of quality control. This spot is awesome! If you are looking for something quickish and something that will please many different opinions on Asian food this is a good stop. You are able to customized and make your bowl as wild or basic as you want. I tend to be an all or nothing person when it comes to flavor and toppings and there were so many awesome things to add that it ended up super flavorful as well as colorful. All the meat choices are very well done and the rice is cooked perfectly as a base to any bowl here. If you have the time to dine in, do the hot bowl. It keeps your food smoking hot for the whole time you sit there as well as gets your rice nice and crispy on the outside. It was a great touch to an already great flavored dish. I used to love this place (besides the tables which were always sticky, but that's another story), but recently management has really dropped the ball. We went there on a Saturday night... only to find they were no longer serving hot pots! They said the reason was because they were short staffed, but assured us we could get the ingredients cold if we wanted. Excuse me, what?! That's a core part of your business. It's like if Domino's or Pizza Hut said they were short-staffed so they couldn't sell you a cooked pizza, but they could send you home with a take and bake. I hope they stay open since it's very convenient; most Korean restaurants I frequent only offer table service, compared with BIBIO's much faster order-at-the-counter method. But unless they start using dolsots again, I will head elsewhere for good Korean. read more

Its Korean bbq meat paired with flavorful veggies and choose your own sauces. This place is like a poke bowl but with Korean food. You get to choose what you like. I'm a big fan of daikon so I get the pickled Daikin and carrot. I also enjoy all things spicy but for a very flavorful sauce, I recommend the zesty ginger. Its my new favorite after the Korean bbq sauce. There are also wings on the menu and fries that I have not tried but look good as well. This place is one of my go to's if I'm craving that salty but sweet and spicy meal that hits the spot. Awesome. I have eaten Korean food inside and outside of Korea for 30 years. Most Korean fast food in the US is terrible, but here they didn't try to "dumb it down" or cater to the American palate. They left the flavors intact and made it accessible for the masses. Have the spicy pork and add all the sides (bon-chons) you are comfortable with, then add the Korean chili sauce.
