I love this place! Marleny's cuts and colors keep my hair looking so beautiful (I get a ton of compliments on the color especially). She's especially wonderful with color both natural and unnatural. She's taken me from my natural color, to pink and purple, to rose gold, to blue and purple, to now just purple and next time we'll do various shades of purple. :) This last time I also decided to add on a blowout by Maddie and WOW. The blowout was not only beautiful but literally lasted me 4 days! And on day 3 I went to a spin class. I put minimal effort into maintaining the blowout so the fact that it still looked great after 4 days is really mind-blowing. Stay away from this place. I made an appointment for a tint application and had to cancel it due to overseen events. I wanted to reschedule for a later time or their next available however, the salon associate who answered was incredibly rude and asked me why I could not come in, and I told her the reason; she then said well, there is a full charge for the service for canceling. This seems extreme, considering I was trying to reschedule, and she didn't even give me a chance. Usually, there is a cancellation fee however there site does not mention it, and the scheduler did not tell me when I was making the appointment. I told her I was rescheduling, and she didn't give me a chance and hung up on me. I do not understand their rudeness and aggression. I will never schedule here again. read more

I had a hair emergency (I'd tried to trim it myself and royally messed things up) and was lucky enough to get a last minute haircut on a Sunday. Collette took a disaster and completely fixed it. We were both worried it could be tough to style for a bit / wouldn't quite look great for a while given how much I'd messed it up. However, when I went into work a couple days later, my coworkers RAVED about it...no one could tell it was a "repair job." received a haircut from one of the intermediate stylists, showed her many reference pictures at the beginning and described the haircut i wanted. she did an okay job on my hair cut , but completely ruined my bangs. i asked for slightly shorter very thin wispy bangs. when i came in , they were grown past the tip of my nose, i asked for them to sit just under my eyebrow. instead what she did was cut thick micro bangs, completely opposite from what i had asked. before cutting my bangs that short, she did not check in with me or even ask if the length was okay before just cutting them. in fact, most of my haircut was spent turned away from the mirror. i even asked her to try and thin them out a little after the blow out was done and it did nothing to help. it's been days since and i've tried to style my bangs many different ways all of which i don't like because this is simply not how i wanted my bangs cut. and then on top of that the service was 40 dollars more than what was quoted on the website, which i was not informed of until after the hair cut. i left feeling like i had paid a lot of money for a haircut that i just did not really like read more

I had been avoiding getting a haircut for a multitude of reasons due to COVID, but when my long time friend and hair stylist of 9 years passed away suddenly, I couldn't bring myself to get my hair done for months. My appearance deteriorated to the point where my lack of self esteem started to outweigh my grief, so it was time to do something whether I was ready for it or not. I researched many salons near me and carefully studied their COVID practices and decided to go with Bibo, where I was matched with Skylar. The second my butt hit the chair, I burst into tears. Skylar was incredibly gentle and kind to me and let me grieve in the way that was best for me. She gave me a soothing wash and neck massage and we discussed what I was looking for, and she gave me the time and space I needed to process while keeping the conversation flowing. I went to and called a few salons and they didn't want to take me because all I wanted was shampoo and blow dry. I called BIBO at around 6:00 pm and a lady with an accent picked up and indicated she was able to take me. She was so friendly, definitely knew my hair very well off the bat. It was definitely really dry and needed a hair cut for sure. I did a blowout and decided to add on the extra treatment due to my hair being so dry. I loved the way she blow dried my hair, wavy curls exactly how I like to do my hair when I go out. I wasn't sure if they offered champagne but after reading the reviews, now I know! Will definitely come back and get champagne next time. She was so nice, great customer service for sure. The only recommendations I would make is that the wash bowl doesn't have a cushion so my head was in slight pain when I was leaning back to get it washed and the hair dryer got a little too hot at times but wasn't painful. read more

I have been on the search for a year and a half now ever since I moved to the bay and every time I try a place I leave unhappy resigned to growing my hair out again to fix whatever new mistake was just made. But today the hair gods have finally answered my prayers! After a lot of yelp research I decided to try Bibo salon, I set up an appointment online with a level four stylist. Haili was my stylist and from the moment we started she was so nice and listened to all of my concerns and issues with past cuts. I also like low maintenance styling as in I just wash it and air dry. She suggested with my hair type and wants that I might like a Calligraphy cut and I went with it. Partially because I felt like she was very knowledgable and partially because I honestly didn't think anything could be to much worse than what I already had going on. She did such an amazing job! This is the first time in almost two years I left a salon feeling happy and confident in how my hair looks! Thank you so so much Haili!! She did a very thoughtful job of working with/around my very grown out color and my very long hair (and it's two very different curl patterns). Plus, she has great listening skills and empathy-- meaning she really payed attention to the hair goals at hand, plus... she noticed my 7:00 pm the night before an interview coffee choice. Not judgily (new adj., 'welcome) she just... gently pointed it out, which was enough to prompt me to wisely switch to water... I walked out of feeling confident & my hair is still looking smooth on day two (three). Also, I thought the owner was very charming and I noticed how the staff interacted with one another. I was offered a variety of beverages, including champagne. Parking was easy as was my appointment. The interior of the salon was open, airy and modern. I asked for Angel because of her great reviews on yelp and she didn't disappoint. We chatted, I teased her about living up to her reviews and it wasn't more than 40 minutes and I was out with a spunky little bob. The cost was a little more than average but it was worth it and they probably could get away with raising the price a little. I brought my daughter in to have her hair styled and makeup done for Homecoming. Angel did her hair and Julieann did her makeup, and these ladies did not disappoint. Angel has asked my daughter how she would like her hair and my daughter gave her minimal parameters, half up/half down and other than that, for Angel to do whatever she would like. My daughter's hair came out amazing! Julieann did her makeup, which we were extremely happy with. I got a hair cut and tint from Haili (I believe that how you spell her name) and I'm absolutely in love with it. She first tinted my hair and the ends did take like she wanted. She asked my opinion and after discussing it she redid the tint to perfection. She then advised me to try the calligraphy cut. At first I was very hesitant of the cut however she took the time to explain it to me and how I would benefit from the cut. I don't regret any of it!! I love my color and cut. Also the owners greeted me at the door with a friendly demeanor (even though they were dealing with a power outage) and offered me beverages and assured me my wait wouldn't be long. so i did a decent amount of research and this place obviously has good reviews but they also looked like they take clients with my kind of hair (thicker than anyone would believe + frizz). i've literally never had a good experience at a hair salon until today, at Bibo, with Julieann. She was competent, understood what i wanted, and she was NICE TO ME. i had hair down to my hip bones and i wanted to donate. i was convinced i wouldn't like it b/c i've never liked the short haircuts i've tried in the past. Julieann knew exactly what she was doing to prevent my hair from frizzing out, and let me tell you--i am not a social media person, but i posted a before and after and my phone is blowing up right now--the way she cut and styled my hair is more than i ever could have imagined or hoped for. i don't get my hair cut super often, but i will be returning any time i do need a cut, and i won't avoid the hair dressers like i used to. Late September, my first appointment with Bibo, I took time off work (I'm self employed; no work=no $), rode BART for over 30 minutes and walked to the salon. Upon entering the 2 young women at the front desk looked like deer in headlights when I said 'I'm xxx and here for my haircut'. A very long pause and one finally said my stylist (the owner, Susie), had called in sick and wasn't there, they couldn't give me a cut that day. ??? No one could have called me??? I was basically told I was lost in the shuffle because of the way they set up their appointments, it was a very lame sounding excuse. I was infuriated. Unacceptable that no one called, texted or emailed me to cancel. I'm a small business owner myself and this is a giant no-no. I wasted half my day (and my half day's earnings I gave up to go here. I'm sure if I'd been sick and couldn't come, they still would have charged me for the appointment. Funny how these things can't work both ways?) and got nothing but aggravation and lip service. Susie did call me a few minutes after I left the salon. I was walking back to BART, on the phone w/her (she DID sound sick), while I stopped to watch a smash and grab happening across the street from Bibo. At least I didn't have my car there... Susie was very apologetic and said she'd make it up to me after she got back from a week off (sounded like she was to be out of town soon) and then I never heard from them again.
