Great bike shop with a friendly, knowledgable staff and excellent selection of bikes and accessories. If you want a bike fit, they are the best. Chris is a pro at fitting, I had no idea what a shim in my right cleat would accomplish as well as how "off" my seat adjustment was. It's like I was only using half my power in one leg. The Saturday ABC rides are the best and they always have coffee and bagels afterwards. If you think you are pro material, go out with the A group. After you get dropped you can continue the ride with the B group :-) They will only be a few minutes behind. read more

My review is absolutely horrible. I have worked and bought with this location in the past several times...not that bad, but today was horrible. I called today for my son who wants a mountain bike and was out on hold for 15 plus minutes before I hung up. Then tonight, I called and asked about a certain bike they had on their website (at the Scottsdale location) and they don't have that year of bike anymore and then I was hung up on. My son and I have called 3 times today to find out what type of "black Friday" sale or discount they are having and they wouldn't tell us over the phone and required us to come in to find out. I have 3 pre-teen and a 22 month old infant, with a wife who just had heart surgery. They were a-holes to my son and me and they need to understand their purchasing audience! I received immediate service on my bike that had some minor issues, and, they answered all of my questions regarding new bikes. This is by far the best bike shop in town! Worst customer service ever! The guy at the counter was too lazy to show us where the kickstands were. He just told us twice " they are in the back" couldn't find them and again he refused to show us. The mechanic in the back was too busy telling a story to his buddy, to stop and help us locate the item. We will take our business elsewhere. I walked in looking to buy a new road bike. I was the only customer in the store with probably a dozen employees milling around. Not one single person greeted me or asked if I could be helped. After 10 minutes of walking around I decided to leave and bring my business elsewhere. As I was leaving somebody did ask me if I needed help but at that point I was just ready to leave. I've been in the store in the past and have been put off by the attitude of the employees. Tonight, I needed to pick up a bottle of Finish Line Dry lube for a ride tomorrow. Performance Bike, only a mile away, was sold out and said I could try these guys. I arrived at 6:57 pm and their doors were locked, although the posted hours were until 7:00 pm. I stood outside and saw some people checking out and two employees at the register. Through the crack of the doors I asked if I could buy some lube tonight. I know I was heard because one of the employees turned and looked at me. That was the only response I was given from him. No sorry we can't unlock the doors because of insurance, our registers are down or whatever. Just rudeness. As I waited, foolishly hoping that the employee would come over, the other employee, who I think is the arrogant manager, also saw me and ignored me. What B.S. Closing the doors early, turning away a customer ready to buy a particular product (not shop around), and being jerks by not providing any communication. It's okay, though, I'll never go there again, I'm telling you and others about how horrible they are, and, I know that karma will give them what they deserve... read more

Went to Bicycle Ranch some years back for a bike fit with Paric (not sure how to spell his name). Never did get fit. He took several measurements, but was never really paying attention as he was busy talking with my wife the entire time. In the end, he moved my cleats back a few millimeters and told me that I need physical therapy to loosen my hips. He did nothing to address my issues with discomfort on the bike. So much for getting what you pay for. Pick another shop if you expect to have a professional fit. I won't even step into that bike shop anymore. read more

What a great store! This is local business at it's best. These guys really care about getting you what you need and want-not necessarily selling you the most expensive gear, equipment or bike. This is not a high pressure sales type store. The staff are very relaxed and personable. I've bought bikes, equipment, accessories, have had repairs and have been fit on my bike. My first experience with this shop, though have been road biking and mtn biking since the mid 80's, so have had my share of experiences with bike shops. Fractured my rear rocker link assembly yesterday on the trail. They took my bike back immediately, sighted the problem (was actually a bolt issue that promted the fracture). They thought they had the part, and searched for it, while I watched....had my bike ready for the trail within several hours. Very reasonable price for the repair. read more

I have been a 'Trek' guy for many years, one of the reasons is the great service and customized help I receive at BR. Have purchased both road bikes and mountain and more recently 'upgraded' my daughters bikes for christmas. When I received the call that my girls bikes were in, BR went the extra mile and made sure I picked up before they closed the day before Christmas and the 'store next to target' as not to give 'Santa' away. Little things like that are very much appreciated. The service has been great, always helpful and willing to fit in some 'minor' adjustments on the fly. No matter what your problem is they always have a solution and the best one available depending on if you want to spend $$ or not spend so much and just try it out for a cheaper route. Now I can appreciate how important the retail shop is where you purchase something expensive! Took my carbon bike bought three years ago at Bicycle Ranch back after possible small cracks appeared in the frame. Louie in the service shop was great. He was very supportive. He worked with the rep, sent pictures back to the factory, and got approval to return it to the factory. Marcus Zimmer, shop owner, kept me informed about its status and sent me emails from the factory with choices of paint for the new frame. The shop did a great job disassembling and then reassembling the bike after the new frame arrived. Chris did a quick fitting and off I went with a new bike! I've been in twice in the last two months. Most recently was today. I'm tired of going into this bike shop, being completely ignored, then snobbed on by some twenty something with an attitude. I'm looking for a full suspension 29er and the "racer bro" recommended the Fisher HiFi. I mentioned it's problems with lateral stiffness and the carbon fiber cracking on the rear stays and he acted like I called his mom a whore, then said, "well don't buy the bike then". I responded, "thanks" and walked out. Instead of hiring twenty somethings that don't give a shit about anything but the free tuneups they get for pretending to work, maybe Bike Ranch should hire some people who have actual soft skills and can really be of assistance in a sale. I have $3500 to spend and I'll be damned if I spend it here with this snob shop. read more
