Mike is an incredibly helpful and friendly business owner. I brought in two bikes this afternoon, one where the chain had broken and a used bike that I bought this morning that I wanted to get tuned up. The first bike he paid very careful attention to, doing more than just replace the chain. He aligned the tires, lubricated some joints, and paid really close attention to details. It's clearly a labor of love for him. The other bike was in great shape, and, deferring to his judgment on what he thought needed to be done to it, he said that everything was good and that I didn't need to have any service done to it at this point. He wasn't trying to get a bunch of money out of me. He was honest and trustworthy. A great service shop, and I'll definitely do all of my repairs at this store. read more

It's really great place to bring your bike. They fix everything I needed (Brake lines, gear lines, and fixed my rim). Road it home (15 minutes by bike) no problem. My only issue was that I was quoted $60 and ended up paying $73 All my friends claim these guys are the best so I'm not worried. read more

Though I've only been to Bicycle Station a few times, they're very helpful with biking needs. Upon moving to Brooklyn, I knew I'd need to use the old bike more often, and after getting knocked around in the moving truck and also being out of practice for a few years, I wanted to get my bike checked out before taking on the roads. They gave me a free look-over, plus a couple of bike maps so I could familiarize myself with the proper routes. Overall, they were really helpful and knowledgable even though all I needed to buy from them was a $1 pump converter. If anything should ever happen to my bike, this will be the first place I turn to for help! read more

I got at this bike store and I got exactly was I was looking for. My seat has been stolen last night. They put me a new seat with the bar, plus a chain wrapped in a tire attached to the seat to make safer the sea. Everything, including the seat, for $40. I was hit by a van coming off the Manhattan Bridge and realized that my rim had been bent out of commission, so I walked into this bike shop I'd never been to before and promptly started crying when I tried to explain what I needed because I was still so shaken. The employee or possibly owner was incredibly calm and comforting, and replaced my rim with a used one for $25. He made sure to clean it carefully, test it out, and fill my tires, all in record time. I just got my bike back from the Bicycle Station and I am extremely happy with the service and cost. Originally, I took my bike to R&A after my bike accident. Felix at R&A told me that I needed to get lots of things replaced on my bike. Luckily, I decided against using them and went to the Bicycle Station instead. Mike told me my bike was fine, did some adjustments, cleaned the gears, trued the wheel and changed the handle bar tape for $30 AND with a good attitude. I have heard from other people that the turn around time can be ridiculous there. I got my bike back the same day. I suppose they aren't as busy in the winter. I would definitely recommend Bicycle Station for it's honest respectful service. read more

When I had about 1/2 my bike ripped off by a particularly crafty thief (handlebars, gearshifts, brakes, fork, headset, even the bearings for chrissakes), the turnaround time for replacing & installing all the missing parts here was 24 hrs! and reasonably priced. The handiwork was a little shoddy on the front brake but they made good by replacing it (again) and giving the bike another free tune-up. read more

When I lived around the block in Prospect Heights, Bicycle Station was my go-to place for little tune-ups, or big fix-ups like the time a snow plow bent my 3-speed in half. Mike took the wreck off my hands and called me as soon as a suitable replacement came in. Their prices were always fair and the service good. Now that they've moved to Clinton Hill (following me around guys?) I'll have to swing by. They had a free air hose on Vanderbilt, but don't know yet if the new location has one as well. read more

I walked right in and within 10 minutes had a flat replaced and I was out the door. I didn't have to leave the bike and come back. The owner quickly finished what he was working on, took care of my problem and I was out the door for only $10. I don't think you could possibly ask for more than that. Stopped in to get a replacement piece for my toddlers inexpensive bike. The guy in the shop didn't have it, but recommended I check out nearby places. Turns out he looked at the piece and I only need a new lug "nut" not a "whole new piece". Super cheap fix and he was nice. Will be back. read more

Super helpful guy who is also the subject of a documentary. He had repaired my bikes very well and at a lower cost than pretty much any place in NYC. He did my tune ups, replaced parts, changed tires, replaced brakes, etc. and when I moved, he gave me a box to pack my bike with helped me pack my bike up for free. I certainly miss him now that I'm no longer in the city. Highly recommend this shop! read more

Mike is awesome and extremely skilled. His rates are excellent and the service is very fast. He is honest and passionate about the work that he does, and always does his best to please all the customers who come into his shop. I don't know why anyone would rate Bicycle Station anything less than 5 stars. I will always come back here even if I have to walk a long way (the only public transportation nearby is a bus stop, if you can get your bike on the bus), but it's not a long walk (less than 20 minutes) from the nearest subway stations. read more

This is the greatest place ever!! I was sad they moved from Vanderbilt all of two blocks away from my house but despite the "pro" bike shop on 5th avenue (NEVER go here again, jerks!) and other local bike shops , Bicycle Station reigns the best, friendliest and most helpful. Best Bike repair shop in brooklyn. Mike will quote you a price over the phone for most things and he has common request pricing listed on the wall in his shop. His prices are very fair. Today, he replaced my stolen front tire and fixed my front break for $25 (broken when my tire was stolen). I was in and out of his shop in like 15 minutes. It's nice to have a reliable, inexpensive, expedient bike shop - perhaps a couple blocks off the beaten path. It's well worth getting there. read more

I've spent the last month or so checking out bikes on craigslist & a few bike shops that sell 2nd hand bikes. Bicycle Station has been the best by far in both helpfulness & price. Mike kept the shop open for me when I was running late to get there (close to 7pm) & changed the handle bars, the brake pads, adjusted the seat & checked over everything at no extra cost even though it was well after closing time. (He had only just got the bike in & hadn't had a chance to service it prior to me seeing it, so he was really being very professional about it.) The whole time he was lovely to chat with, he's a proper bike enthusiast & does his job because he loves it. I like the no frills factor & the no bullshit .... The previous week I called in advance to see if there was anything that met my requirements, he was upfront & said he didn't have anything at the moment but I should call later in the week to see if he has anything new in store - and yesterday there was! read more

Bicycle Station is an excellent bike shop that's all about reliable service at a good price. It's not a store with a lot of stock. But it is a great shop for service and parts. Owner Mike is a good guy and really can fix anything. He made my old mountain bike purr after it sat for years in my folks' basement, and has since tuned and fixed our bikes many times.
