My husband and I have been here several times for mani pedis and have been very happy with the environment and the service.

Called on a Saturday at around 3:30 asking if I could walk in at 3:45 and they said yes. Got a no-chip manicure, and the lady doing my nails was super nice! She first tested like 4 different polishes on me to make sure I got the shade I wanted, and then also had these moisturizing fingerless gloves that she put my hands in for the whole time which was nice. She also spent the longest I've ever experienced making sure my nails and the surrounding skin was clean and buffed before starting to paint them which showed a lot of attention to detail!! She also gave me a massage when I was just waiting for my nails to finish baking which was a nice touch at the end The shop itself is very small and narrow, and easy to miss but it's also really cute and cozy. I scheduled a no chip manicure the day of and they had availability. It was a bit awkward at first because I came in and just sat there waiting and then they told me to choose colors that I wanted. Everyone was polite and courteous. They are korean and I am korean and even when I wanted to converse they only gave short replies and didn't want to talk. The no chip was $36 with a student discount and it has been about 2.5 weeks and they have lasted! Satisfied with the results. Street parking was easy to find, even on a Saturday afternoon. I do love the decor and the feel. Being that this was my first time here, definitely didn't know what to expect in terms of what comes with the regular mani-pedi. Didn't receive much direction. Some other girls received a heated neck wrap---I didn't. Some received a chair massage--I must of sat in the lucky chair--because I received one. Paraffin on the heels was a nice touch since I had sand paper feet--so kudos for that. My mani-pedi lasted a good 5 days, my friend I went with not so much. As we were rushed out and told our nails were dry....my friends nails were actually only surface dry--meaning by the time we got home---all her nails were smudged and ridged. She called and they did offer to redo her nail, no questions asked, as if this might happen often. It seems hit or miss here. Overall my experience was ok, if I'm in the areas again, I might give them another try. read more

Checked this place out on a whim. I've been disappointed after my last few gel manicure's from my usual salon. Walked in and was taken back right away. The color selection for hands and toes is huge-but they won't necessarily match. However, my tech got the colors pretty darn close and did a beautiful job!! I've gotten so many compliments on the color. My nails were shaped perfectly and the gel is lasting much longer than it ever did from my other salon. I absolutely don't recommend this place. I get my nails done so often, and never have I dealt with rude staff like Katie and her coworker. Extremely unprofessional! They gave me a few instructions but sometimes it was difficult to understand what they were saying, and when I misheard something, they laughed and said something in a different language as if I wouldn't have understood or guessed what they said. They also took my wedding ring and threw it in a plate in a disrespectful manner and without my permission. They painted my nails with the wrong color, and it was rushed, so it looked poorly done. They never bothered to ask if it was the color I wanted or if needed anything else,etc. I recommend going to other places with better service and better attitude! I'm surprised by the other negative review! I have been there ~5 times for mani/pedis and always had a great, relaxing experience. Their technicians are all very good and careful with their work. The spa treatments that go along with the pedicure is amazing. Always lots of recent magazines and a DVD on their big flat screen TVs. I love that they have a little dish for you to put your rings on while you're getting your mani. So great not to get lotion smothered all over my engagement ring! I went in for a manicure and my friend went for her very first pedicure. I have to say I was very impressed by the interior when I walked in. The ladies that work there were very friendly and helpful as soon as we walked in. I was also really impressed with the attention to detail I got with my manicure. Aside from the slightly higher price point ($32 for a regular pedicure after the 10% student discount), I don't understand what's not to love about Bien Assorti. I haven't tried the other locations, but this one was clean, with lots of color choices, and very friendly staff. Vicky did a fantastic job, and the regular pedicure still includes a scrub, long soak, and a short massage. They also offer a club card (11th service is free) and send a coupon for your birthday. BUT they have TVs in here (chick-flicks, of course), gorgeous wood decor, and neck/shoulder massages while you are waiting for your nails to dry. My nails always come out looking great. I am a hard-to-please nail customer. I adore the experience of getting my nails done, but I am quite picky about the results. Nevertheless, Bien Assorti has managed to placate my desire for the perfect mani/pedi. The pedicures are excellent. Lovely, long massages. Invigorate scrub. Gentle hands on sensitive toes. Great polish results. The manicures are delightful. My nails are always nicely shaped, cuticles properly pruned, and polish always lasts a week. An odd addition... the application of purell at some point during the manicure. It stings and hurts. I know that hands should be clean and some moisturizer needs to be mitigated. But, can I please just wash my hands instead? The one questionable service... A full acrylic set. I came in to have acrylic nails applied (I've had them in the past). The application process was not relaxing. At all. The technician seemed to be bothered the entire time and, at one point in time, she accidentally filed my skin (not nail) for about 15 seconds. As soon as I spoke up, she apologized profusely. She also applied the adhesive chemical against some broken skin... also ouch! But, no pain equates to no beautiful gain. And, I know acrylic application can be difficult. So, I am really appreciative that the results are MAGNIFICENT!!! My nails look natural, feel strong, and I love looking at my newly gorgeous manicure. The technician even had some wonderful polish recommendations that really make the set look realistic and pretty. Super clean nail salon with friendly, nice technicians. They shape precisely and gently. You can tell the girls are not in a hurry and want to be thorough. Other Pros (in addition to what other Yelpers have said): clean, easy to make appointments if call ahead, good nail dryers, quiet and peaceful, HDTV with movies, lotion scents aren't overpowering. Cons: somewhat limited color selection compared to Nail Bar or Pinky, walk-ins sometimes get turned down if salon are busy (I've seen this happen a few times here), no receptionist (the techs have to get up and help those who come in while with clients). This is one of the better looking mani/pedi places in the area for a reasonable price. They even have a discount for the NU students, which is great. I like the ambiance and the fact that the play movies with subtitles while relaxing music is playing in the background for those who prefer not to watch. The problem is the quality of manicure here isn't great at all, which is the main reason to go to a mani/pedi place, isn't it? I gave this place a couple of tries and had two different people work on my manicure. First of all, they don't cut the cuticles well at all!
