My guy, Nick, was phenomenal, detailed oriented. I've experienced nail techs who aren't consistent with shaping but he was meticulous in making sure my shape was perfect on each finger. My only regret was not taking a before photo because my nails were not in good shape, but these after photos are beautiful! I found my new go to spot for nails and I'm so lucky to have gotten Nick as my nail tech because he was incredible.

I always get a no-chip gel manicure, and I was surprised when they did 2 layers of gel base, and THREE layers of gel polish. All places I've been to only does one base coat and 2 (at best) of gel polish. I believe my nail tech was Quynh and she really made sure to evenly coat my nails, and she even coated all of the sides (which is a problem I've had with other places). They did not allow for the polish to dry between coats and by the time I got home the polish had already shifted from not setting properly. My gel polish is still in tact (thankfully), but the pedicure can best be described as my feet splashing around in water for 45 minutes because they did not properly remove the dead skin from my feet. I'm annoyed that I spent over 2 hours at this establishment to be completely unsatisfied within hours and within days it was as if no service was even performed. Lazy efforts all the way around.

I am regular customer and come every 2-3 weeks. I now schedule an appointment, verus being a walk in due to wanting a popular nail tech. There has only being one time in my 1 year of being a regular that they could not serve me on a Saturday, but I had a time issue and should have scheduled. I tried this salon one day due to in being closer to my home than my prior nail salon and allowing walk-ins on Saturdays. They also do gel nails, dip (my fav) and acrylic, which I love. I will not say the nail tech that I schedule, but this person (they have both male and female nail techs) is amazing. My nails do not break or the paint does not peel. They take their time every time I book them, regardless if there is a appointment in back of me. I've never had to wait on my appointments as I try to schedule them a few days before and for a early time - like 10am. I now visit on the weekdays to ensure I can be seen by my preferred nail tech. I love it here. I've tried another place in nearby and I was not happy with my nails, nor did they last. I'm pretty hard on my nails, but do know a really good nail tech application can survive my treatment of the nails I get.

The interior of the nail salon is so calming, love the soft lighting, the pleasant background music on, TV with close captioned Golden Girls going and bohemian interior with its crystal chandeliers, Moroccan stencils on one window, subway tile on a wall, and French chic pieces throughout. You don't feel like you're in a nail salon. Estella and Michelle did our honey and milk spa pedicures (the upgrade was worth it) and regular manicures. Both were great and our paws and hands feel so much better as a result. I wish this salon existed back home... I love the little touches as well on how this salon supports good causes and takes the longer route to remove gel versus electric filing which always feels like it damages the top of my nail. Please note, because of this timing, and that no one in my life gets this done, I have no basis of comparison other than a few previous manicures. After needing some TLC, I booked an appointment with Gingerslam Nail Bar for a standard Mani-Pedi. Nothing fancy, no colors or shapes, just enough to bring them up to factory spec. The experience was alright. While I wouldn't go as far as to say it was painful, the discomfort in my cuticles being pushed back and trimmed was greater than I'd encountered in the past. Also, while it felt nice at the time, the oil used on my feet was less thrilling when it met sock and shoe. Finally, one other thing I wasn't thrilled about: In going from the pedi-chair to the mani-chair, I was given a pair of disposable flip-flops. These things were so hilariously flimsy and ill-fitting, my freshly cleaned feet kissed the floor more times than once. Thus, while not a negative experience, I can't say it was an extremely positive one. Though my nails, hands, and feet felt good after, this is counterbalanced by the discomfort of the procedure itself, and feet-on-bare-floor. While a rare luxury, it shouldn't include this level of discomfort, in my opinion. As such, I believe my next nail-care appointment will be somewhere else.
