went in on a weekday at around 7pm when I went in, there were only 2 customers seated and in the middle of eating and drinking. I sat at the bar and ordered within a minute or two of sitting at the bar. I thought it shouldn't take too long because I was only one of 3 customers, but it actually too an awkward amount of time. This place has ZERO beers on tap, which made me very disappointed because I yelp-searched "beer bars nearby", but I was misinformed. I ordered a kirin beer that was barely cold, and within a couple of minutes it was not cold anymore because it was a hot day. The lady-bartender was nice, but she did something very odd, which was she thoroughly rinsed a big wad of cash in the sink of the bar, and it was so weird to see that. Then she just dried her hands, but she didn't wash her own hands, and she continued with serving food and drink. That didn't seem very hygenic. I ate the pad-Thai noodles, which were so-so at best. Found out this place was actually a bar they were just about to close the kitchen when we came in, but they were very nice to just do our order which is why they get five stars just going out of their way. This little hole in the wall might look intimidating because of the red lighting and ambiance but don't let it stop you from getting inside! Very limited tables when we went, not sure if the upstairs is open during the day. The tables are very small. Only for 2 persons. However, food was INCREDIBLE. The chef knows what he's doing. We ordered the Thai iced tea, shrimp wraps, drunken noodles, pad Thai and the mama noodle soup! The Thai iced tea was okay. Less sweet than usual. But the food was amazing! read more

Looks like a dive bar, which is part charming, part "ugh, more red light," but when you get inside, you get all of the advantages (kitsch! disco balls!) without the disadvantages (weekday hipster crowds, noise). Came here for my birthday on 03/29/26- my girl and i were honestly super excited to try this spot. We sit at the bar, we are greeted by who i think is the owner, and she inquires about what drinks we'd like. immediately, my girlfriend says she wants a pina colada. the lady explains they don't have the ingredient to make that, but suggests their signature coconut drink instead saying it tastes very similar. reluctantly my girlfriend agrees, and our drinks are prepared. we ordered food when the drinks were brought and waited. as we started sipping on our drinks, i realized my girlfriend wasn't enjoying hers. i asked what was wrong and she said the drink tasted nothing like a pina colada. i tried it- that drink was straight bacardi poured into coconut water. it was awful. i asked if i could get a replacement for her and she said no and just wanted to eat. the food was pretty solid, it was fresh and tasty. the biggest issue however, came when we tried to approach the drink issue with the bartender/owner lady. we quietly called her over, an my girlfriend softly and kindly explained that she barely took 2-3 sips of her drink because it wasn't what she asked for and if there was any possible way to have it partially or fully removed from the bill. the lady rudely started shaking her head, loudly yelling back, "no we don't give samples here. this isn't a sample bar. you still have to pay for it. i don't know what you want me to tell you!" we were taken back, as we approached this so kindly so this response was completely unwarranted. it even gathered the attention of all other patrons at the bar and booths because of how loud she was. i intervened at this point because i didn't appreciate how my girlfriend was being spoken to. i stated to her that we were not asking for samples, nor did we have an issue paying for everything, but we were asking to SEE if it was possible to have something that we hated taken off of the bill. she says, "oh you hate it? you tried it?" i said "yes and i almost spit it out. she asked you for something like a pina colada and this isn't it. " she walked away and then sent the kinder kitchen help worker to bring our bill (which still had the terrible coconut drink on it) to us. she hid in the kitchen until we left. i seldom am so bothered by an experience that i leave a review, but that lady is unwell. and she seems to be the face of the entire spot, which is tragic. do better. read more

I was at another restaurant and was very disappointed. So my boyfriend and I went on yelp during the dinner to go somewhere else. We came across Angel Thai. I am so satisfied. I feel like we should've ordered the whole menu. Jamie is really nice and the sauces are homemade. Each dish comes with a different one as well. They also have chakra inspired type wellness drinks alcohol free as well. Apparently this place turns into a huge party scene as well. I want to come back because they have a spiked Thai tea I didn't get to try. They were also just featured in the La times. I read her story and so inspired. Not only did angel herself bartend and serve us but her parents who have owned the restaurant for 5 years were in there preparing our food as well ! Not only was the atmosphere very unique and fun, The food was so good I had to order more food to go for breakfast at work the next day ! The shrimp kra pow is my new favorite thing on earth, the pad Thai was AMAZING ! The color is not like a usual looking pad Thai but don't let that fool you it's better then the usual especially because the lack of orange coloring is only because they don't use added food coloring or preservatives!!!!!!! The cream cheese wontons and shrimp wraps were such good appetizers ! And the sauce trays glow in the dark ! Came here around 12 am. Ordered pad Thai, chicken skewers, cream cheese wontons, steamed rice with a fried egg. Lots of street parking since we came so late. Food took a little long to get to the table since there's only one cook back there according to their signage. Skewers are a small portion but they taste good, their cucumber dipping sauce was great. It was a little off putting to eat in their red lighting and not be able to see the food properly. Cream cheese wonton is literally just cream cheese in a wonton wrapper lol no green onion or seasoning so I wouldn't order it again. My friend enjoyed his pad Thai, I didn't care for it. Their tables are small so we didn't have a lot of room when our food came. I ordered a ya dong and couldn't help but laugh when it came out, it was served in the smallest vessel I'd ever seen. Maybe an ounce of vodka steeped in herbs, a warning of the size or flavor from the bartender would've been appreciated but ya live and ya learn. The service is... interesting. Definitely feels like a bar that happens to serve food and not a restaurant with a bar. Our tab was about 60 dollars which seemed high considering the quality, not sure id come back But if you're hungry at midnight they're open. read more

I just drove outta my way and paid actually money. She couldn't even cancel my order. She didn't offer to take my order. She didn't care at all and just walked away while talking to me. So rude and careless. Do your customers a favor and remove your restaurant from ordering apps! It'll probably save you a customer or two. I ordered the Thai sausage, and that was amazing. However, I can't say the same for the Drunken Noodles and Sa tey Chicken. I love Thai Angel, i think you're an amazing host, but tonight, I was heartbroken. The drunken noodles were not drunk. They were just plain white noodles. Almost flavorless. I ordered them with pork, and it tasted like the meat was about to go bad. My friend tasted it and didn't even know if it was pork... The quality of the chicken was not great. The texture was not where it was supposed to be, and the flavor was subpar AT BEST. I'm not happy to have to deliver this message, but I'd rather reach out here than write a review.
