I have one nagging complaint about Biergarten, and since it concerns the first thing that happens when I get there, I'll get it out of the way now. I hate the valet system. Look, I know that $2 valet in Koreatown is customary, but Biergarten is the only place I've been to that takes your money for making your life more difficult. I've been here three times now, and twice, the valet had me get out of my car so he could park it fifteen feet away and come back and give my keys back. I had to stand there watching while he parked my car in an empty spot I could have taken without getting in anyone's way. For this waste of time, I had to pay him actual paper money. Okay, one more gripe - why does it have to close at midnight? Otherwise, I love Biergarten. The place is casual and accessible, with a slapped together beer-centric decor and a lively but relaxed atmosphere. At first glance, it isn't obvious that it's a Korean bar. It has TVs and plentiful seating and nobody smokes. But then you notice that the outside awnings used to belong to TBBQ Chicken and that instead of buying new ones, Biergarten tried to cover the old logos in Sharpie. And then you notice the Korean service buttons, and the immediate presence of a waiter when and only when you push for help. The beer list is not Korean, but the food is Korean in some wonderful ways. I've had some great beers at Biergarten. The list is extensive and interesting, with several good beers on tap. It's divided by type, so you can choose your malty Spaten München Dunkel, or your hoppy Bear Republic Racer 5 or Dogfish Head 90 Minute. I never thought of Belgian strong ales as a preferred category of beer, but I like the Delirium Tremens and St. Bernardus ABT 12. If you're not a beer drinker, there isn't too much in the way of other options, but I've found that the lambics are pretty universally pleasing. The menu also offers a few prime bottled beers, including La Fin du Monde and Young's Double Chocolate Stout. It's a neat selection, and in the last few months, I've found that Biergarten and Beer Belly greatly increase the appeal of a night out in Koreatown. The food is also fantastic, a cut above most bar food I've encountered, and good enough to make Biergarten a worthwhile restaurant even without the beer. The food can take a while to come out, but it's worth a little wait. The best thing I've had is the Chosun One, a cleverly named burger topped with sautéed kimchi, gochujang aioli, pickled daikon, and grilled spam. The meat is delicious, cooked medium rare and full of juice, and it's served on a sweet Hawaiian roll. The thin slice of spam is pure genius, and the sautéed kimchi is pungent and messy in a very satisfying way. The Chosun One is actually one of the better burgers I've had in L.A. As far as fusion burgers go, it beats Kalbi Burger by a fair margin. Speaking of fusion, Biergarten does a pretty good version of Korean tacos. The kalbi tacos are superb, with the sweet Korean barbecue topped by a bright fresh salsa. Also worth noting is the short rib grilled cheese with sourdough, fontina, and an onion marmalade. The tender shreds of beef are so flavorful, and the gooey white cheese and sweet onion are just right. The tempura fries make a great side. They have the optimal texture, with an audible crisp to the outsides and fluffy but not mushy insides. They're well seasoned, and they come with three dipping sauces - chipotle ketchup, garlic aioli, and fried caper aioli - all of which are quite addictive. One of these days I'll get the fried chicken, but I'm less curious about the more traditional Korean dishes on the menu. Unless I hear otherwise, I'll stick to the innovative bar food. Biergarten can hold its own in the L.A. gastropub scene, but it seems to be the least self-conscious spot in the bunch. It feels like a Korean concept restaurant that just happened to hit all the right notes, without any of the attending buzz or fanfare. Great selection of craft beers but I'm not totally sold that the bartender was very knowledgeable about them. I was really surprised to see Parabola on draft here. I came here for the late night happy hour (10-Close). Pints of beers were discounted by $1-2. The biggest saving is going for a pitcher but that was too much beer for myself to handle. I wasn't too hungry so I went for the small poutine fries. Yelp check in offered a free well drink with food purchase. Score! Poutine - Tempera kennebec fries. The type of potatoes were more on the sweet side along with the Galbi. Beer gravy was poured over with crumbs of white cheddar. Very filling dish even for a small. My palette was craving something savory and this missed the mark with it being more on the sweet side. Not sure how I feel about this German-Korean fusion food after this. read more

2.5 stars Yes we came here after seeing it on triple D, and ugh! Sooo much expectation and even more disappointment to have made the trek out to k-town for this below mediocre meal. Arrived around 5pm on a Wednesday and place was empty. Literally we were the only ones there but we didn't mind. What we did mind was the smell. I don't want to get too much into it, but it was far too reminiscent of a horse stable. Regardless our noses got used to it after a while. Let's talk about the food though! The best thing that we had was the short rib poutine! They definitely represent this dish in an awesome way. Short rib, cheese curds, gravy, fries - it was aaaallllll gooooood! We came here for the drunken chicken and also got their fried chicken. Fried chicken was forgettable and the drunken chicken was definitely better in flavor than the fried, but nothing to really boast about. **sigh...so disappointed. Another mediocre dish was their kimchi pancake. Their play on pajeon just failed us. Also, I was also hoping they had gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste) but all they had was sriracha. Not so bad, but if you're going to be specifically a Korean/German fusion joint, I feel like gochujang should be a staple in the kitchen! I did appreciate their beer selection, considering their name is Biergarten. They did try to hit all the different tastes of beer in their tap selection, and I tried some nice IPA's and Milk Stouts from Cali! Lastly, let's talk about their service! (Or lack thereof) You would think that being the only group there, the servers would be on top of us like white on rice. Nope. Our glasses went empty and my group found ourselves waiting for someone to pop out of the kitchen so we could grab their attention for another round. Overall, we won't be back. I've been back to Biergarten a few times now and have to say, they deserve an extra star. Why? I'll tell you. The service is spot on for a place like this. You're greeted upon entering, seated promptly, orders taken and delivered quickly and accurately etc etc. One time, they were out of the beer I wanted. Our waiter suggested another beer that was similar, it was a good choice. My fiancee doesn't eat meat and they have no problem making the Kimchee Short Rib Fried Rice without the short rib (I know, I know....but its still really, really good) and adding an extra fried egg instead. While the fish tacos weren't a big hit the first time, the spicy tofu tacos and the kalbi tacos are awesome. I tried the peanut butter sliders as they're one of the most mentioned menu items by you Yelpers and I'm glad I listened to you.....this time. Normally, I wouldn't even consider ordering a burger without cheese, much less a burger with citrus peanut sauce and an onion ring on a hawaiian roll. But DAMN! They season the meat really well, get a great char on the outside and it all works together really well and I definitely recommend them. And when I was there last night, they got more of the beer they were out of....I honestly expected it to be one of those things where it just sits on the menu but they just never have it. Happy hour deals here are decent. Fried chicken and burgers are great. Their menu has every kind of drunk food you could want (EXCEPT :( CORN CHEESE). I want to try their "Totchos" but at $14 with no meat I'm not ready to take the chance. Most items on the menu seem to be made in house (really good spicy wing sauce), try to save room for their cheesecake!! Don't miss the kielbasa corn dog either. Drinks are pricey especially if you order one of their cocktails, but most of their well shots are $10 or less. When I'm in the mood for semi Asian fusion food and giant steins of beer in a German themed pub I always turn to Biergarten :P Of course this was my first time at Biergarten and I'm happy to say my first experience went quite well. I enjoyed browsing through the beer menu because the beers were categorized and had short descriptions of each beer. I can't stand it when establishments have large list of random beers without any info on them. To go along with my giant stein of beer I enjoyed the bleu cheese balsamic sliders (on Kings Hawaiian rolls) and the tempura battered fries. Both choices were excellent pairings with my beer. The grease from the fries also helped soak up some of the alcohol in my system so I highly recommend ordering them when drinking. I was able to also try a fried chicken slider and some sweet potato strings from the other people in my group. The fried chicken slider was meh and really lacked any real flavor. The sweet potato strings were definitely not worth ordering especially if you're hungry. The strings are frail and difficult to eat. I would pass on them next time I return. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Biergarten. The valet parking was only $3 too so it is totally worth utilizing the small lot when possible. The service was attentive and the clean bathrooms were also a plus. Plenty of TV's with the Doyer game on made Biergarten a happening place on Saturday night. I definitely had my "Asian Glow" rolln'! It's a typical bar feel on the inside. I personally am not a fan of bars (don't really consume alcohol much these days), but I'll still approve of the place if the food's good. On our visit in mid-March, we basically transformed into pigs and noshed on a ton of food. While waiting for our food, my friends went to town on a pitcher of Bear Republic Racer 5 (7% ABV; India Pale Ale). Can't report on that, but they seemed to enjoy it. A server brought a small dish containing dijon mustard and this kimchi-sauerkraut side dish. It actually tasted quite good. I could easily see that put on a hot dog or a burger. We got a two-sausage Wurstplatte ($15) served on a sizzling cast iron pan with onions and bell peppers. Delicious, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The Chosun Burger ($11.50) includes a premier beef patty, sauteed kimchi, gochujang aioli, pickled daikon, grilled spam, and dijon mustard inside a King's Hawaiian sweet sandwich roll. Another home run. I personally liked the crunchiness of the pickled daikon and the salty-savory spam. A bit of tang from the mustard and kimchi, some sweetness from the roll and the aioli. The beef patty was again perfectly cooked to about medium. Biergarten offers their take on Poutine! This $11 appetizer starts with a generous amount of hand-cut fries, topped with German cambozola cheese and short rib gravy. They pile even more short rib meat on top. Can you say foodgasm?! The short rib was outstanding. If you like comfort food and blue cheese in any way, this will be your go-to dish while downing a cold one. For variety, we also got the Spicy Rice Cakes, known as Ddukbokkee ($13). It's a stir-fry dish containing Korean rice cakes, vegetables, potatoes, fishcake, and spicy Korean red pepper paste. For me, an addicting blend of spicy, sweet, and savory. The rice cakes act like a thick, chewy pasta noodle. Real delicious stuff. The Grilled Asparagus ($7.50) is served with some garlic aioli. It was honestly the most underwhelming of the dishes we got in terms of appearance, but we still went to town on that, too. Aioli was well-prepared. Real thick asparagus here, and I probably would prefer thinner stalks. One of my friends also got the Biergarten Kalbi Tacos (three for $8.50). You can also get the tacos with spicy chicken, spicy pork, or spicy tofu. Looks amazing, but basically my stomach was crying uncle at this point. This place is advertised as being fusion but really it's just a place that serves both korean and german food (no overlap within the dishes). We ordered the nachos, chicken wings, kalbi, and a 3 sausage platter. The nachos were straight up inedible. They were cold by the time they came out, the short ribs were bitter, and the cheese sauce that came with it was congealed and disgusting. The chicken wings were great. They were super spicy and crispy. The fries that came with it were good as well. The galbi were pretty good but it was just a plate of short ribs with no rice or sides. The flavor wasn't the best I've had and I could've walked into any other restaurant in ktown and gotten cheaper and better kalbi. The sausages and sauerkraut was delicious. However, they weren't homemade and way overpriced for what they were (I can warm up 3 sausages and put sauerkraut on a platter for way less than $30). It was a good venue to watch the fight though with plenty of screens and a good atmosphere. If I were to come back to watch a fight, I would just skip the food. read more

You should see the look on my face when we pulled up to a plaza in the heart of KTown. Went there on a weekday. There wasn't much happening at this place. The parking lot was practically empty, but we still had to pay for valet. *sigh* Typical KTown experience... Restaurant is nice, big, clean and smoke-free. Giant TV all over the restaurant. I think this would be a great spot to watch a basketball or football game with a bunch of friends. Unfortunately, therewasn't any games playing the night I went. So I sat there and watch golf. Bleh... On a happier note. They have HAPPY HOUR here at BIERGARTEN. Since my friend and I weren't that hungry, we just ordered the DRUNKEN CHICKEN (Fried Chicken) for dinner. A Korean/German gastropub. *Fist pump* I say again: a Korean/German gastropub. Two things, when separate, are awesome in their own right, but, when together, are doublely awesome. Other things that are doublely awesome when hybridized: Firefly/Star Trek conventions; Beer/Gelato; Crossfit gurus/Argyle socks; Jesus/Pinot Noir. This is a great place to catch a Laker's game and eat dukbogi, kalbi, beer battered onion rings, fried rice, nachos, tempura fries, lots of fries, more fries and more fries. I like fries (I stopped apologizing for this a long time ago). This is a fun, energetic, hip place with a primarily Korean staff (note: Korean-American) and the awesome service buttons that keeps the food and beer coming. This place is a pretty great hot-spot for Laker's games. Sure, the Laker's suck right now but watch a game here and it'll feel like they're winners again. And if you can't get passed that they truly do suck right now, come on another night to watch a Clipper's games. I'm not a band-wagon fan; I'm just realistic. Okay, enough of the NBA digression. Service can be a bit spotty at times. Bringing your food but forgetting to give silverware. But the service buttons offset the spotty service. I think this place is great! Maybe because I'm not a beer fanatic and to me if there's more than 5 different kinds of beer at a bar in ktown then... that's AMAZING! haha My friend and I decided to grab a beer after our late lunch. They had the Lakers game on and on another TV they had the college basketball on :) After all the mixed reviews of people saying two very different things I went without any expectation. The verdict? For a bar in ktown this place did well... haha The server was very friendly she gave us the list of beers they had on tap and bottled.. I'm a little bit in love with this place because they had frambois (or however you spell it). NOWHERE IN KTOWN (or that I know of) carries frambois. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! of course it's more of a kid drink because it just tastes like fruit cider ;) I absolutely fell in love. We Only ordered beers because we were too full from lunch but they do have a great selection of beers. They gave us a new "printed" menu to update the ones they ran out and the ones they still had. I thought that was pretty nice. Tap beers can change any time but letting us know is a plus :) nice work I think yelp reviews do help businesses haha The place is very spacious with sports playing and they also have a huge screen towards the back. Never came back to check, super super horrible. We ordered; KALBI POUTINE--- I have ordered this before so I was expecting amazing food. Instead we received salty fries with a watered down cheese sauce and diced/cubes meat. DEFINITELY NOT THE SHREDDED KALBI that used to be on the poutine KALBI TACOS-- good but tortillas were hard. Meat was hard and dry. It was spicy but not the explosion of flavor I was expecting for korean food PAPA's POKE BOWL- good serving portion but BROWN RICE WAS HARD AF. SAUCE PROVIDED WAS JUST WATERED DOWN gochujang. Overall poke had no flavor because none of the components were seasoned. No other sauce except the nasty watered down sauce. CHUSON burger- MEAT WAS SEVERELY DRY AND HARD. Kimchi had a rubber/styrofoam flavor, super gross. Cheese they used was the cheap kind that didn't melt on the burger. Picked daikon wasn't picked long enough. for $62 we expected amazing but instead we got not even mediocre food. the portions were big but what is the point of big portions if the food is SHIT. what a pity because this place used to be sooooooo good and had amazing & friendly service. read more

My friend found this place on yelp and decided to try it! Its a little hidden place in Ktown. There is a valet parking lot or street parking. When you go inside, its not a conventional ktown bar, but more like a European pub! They have a few things on tap, which I was expecting more but it wasn't too big. They have a pretty good menu, with lots of different things to offer. We tried the grilled cheese, military soup, poutine fries and a few more dishes I cant recall. All of it was pretty yummy, everything had a fusion of pub food with korean flavors. The service was ok, sometimes when it got busy it was hard to get the staff's attention, but overall pretty good and quick. read more

I thought they had a pretty decent happy hour and food so we decided to go back to Biergarten. Well, my impression this time was different. First of all, their happy hour starts at 9 PM - I don't think this was the case the first time I went there. I've seen restaurants/bars offering late afternoon or early evening happy hours and perhaps having another set of happy hours much later in the night, but I don't know of any other place that starts happy hour at 9 PM. So, bummer. This won't be my choice of happy hour next time around. Second, the food was not as interesting or delicious as I remember it to be. Portions were much smaller than last time and their Mac N Cheese was one of the worst ones I've had. It was just greasy without much taste of any cheese. Umm...I see Mac. Where is cheese? Bacon bits helped, but not nearly enough to make us feel like it was not a complete waste of money. Drunken chicken was nothing special. I thought it was way overpriced for what it was. I arrived right when they open on Saturday (noon) and it seemed like they weren't prepared to tend to any customers at that time. To share, I tried the: - drunken chicken - chosun burger - glutster burger - tempura fries The drunken chicken came out first and while it was nothing special, at least it was moist throughout. The half portion is pretty decent sized appetizer for two people. I only wish that it was as good as others have stated here. First up to bat was the glutster burger. It tasted like a Chipotle burrito in burger form, and in case you are wondering, that is A-OK with me! Texturally, it was a little on the mushy side because of the guac and the black beans. I had "chosun" (sorry, couldn't resist!) to eat the Chosun burger second figuring it would pack more bold flavors from the spam and the kim chi. Similar to the 'chipotle' burrito, this one tasted like Korean food in burger form- which again, I don't mind at all. Surprisingly, the spam didn't take the forefront in this dish but it was the pickled daikon and kim chi. Of the two burgers, this one has a slight edge for being a bit more unique, but either burger would suffice. The tempura fries were simply outstanding. It was a nice change of pace to get fries prepared this way. Obviously, one can't indulge in this too often... man, they were crispy, hot, and delicious. What more could you want from a simple fry? I can see the ambience of this place being nice for a night out for drinks. I'm not too privy of places with TV's at every corner, but I'm sure that's the kind of crowd this place is looking to attract. All in all, Biergarten would definitely be a spot I would hit up frequently if it were close by. read more

I'm an honest Yelper - I'll Yelp exactly what I experience. If I could give Biergarten more stars, I would. I love this place! Any place deserves high ratings when they can provide excellent service during one of their busiest nights - Lakers Finals. The place was pretty packed that night. There was some after party for an anniversary, so it added to the group of people who came to watch Lakers Game 3. I was surprised. Every table, every person, and every group was served with kindness and promptness. I was really impressed. If you go to any other sports bar, you will never receive the same kind of service. I can't go to any other sports bar now. We ordered the bratwurst and it came with a free pitcher of beer. We went for the PBR. Everything was delicious! I love how their glasses and they always keep them chilled. Their bratwurst is really one of the best. We also ordered the Erdinger and the Peanut Butter Sliders. All excellent, as always. After the game, we stayed for a bit longer and left. Believe it or not, we came back later in the evening because we were craving tacos. We weren't just craving any tacos; we wanted Biergarten's Kalbi tacos. Forget the kogi taco trucks out there, or even the other bars that attempt to serve kogi tacos. Biergarten has the best Kalbi tacos! The sauce has a nice kick to it and the meat is super juicy and tender. Again, I have to say, this is one of the cleanest bars out there. Its also nice and cool and spacious. FYI: They have valet parking and its only $1.50. You can also find street parking near California Market and just walk over. read more

So far, I've eaten: -Drunken Chicken (cut up pieces of crispy lemon pepper, beer, honey/spices) very tender and flavorful. This is good enough for 2 or 3 people depending on appetite. -The King's Hawaiian Balsamic Onion Sliders (seasoned beef patty cut to fit that yummy toasted bun, carmelized onions and sprinkled blue cheese - that caught my eye), it was yummmmerz! -Lastly, I tried their seared Tuna Salad beautifully sliced and layed over mixed greens with sprinkled sesame seeds. The waiter was so nice and helpful when my friend asked for wasabi. Our waiter kindly had the cook make it for him. Let's just say that everything was deliciousiosss!! Oh yeah almost forgot to mention, you are served with vinegar and salt (I think) chips and dips along with their version of coleslaw. My wife and I were looking for a place to watch the football game on Sunday and we came across this place via google and my lord! Thank god google requested this place, it's fire! The food was so damn good and the beer as well. We had the IPA Mamba Mentality and damn that was good! Had about three and what was great with it was the poutine fries and wings. I've read good things about this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try last week. Parking: We got lucky and found street parking (for free!) right outside the restaurant but there is also a *very* small lot that shares the space with other stores in the plaza so it could be a little difficult on weekends I would think when it is busy. Ambiance: I enjoyed it! Inside was fairly spacious and there were lots of TVs everywhere which is great to go when a sporting event is occurring. Staff: Very friendly and there was also a buzzer on the table to get the staff's attention if you needed anything. We didn't use it though since it was a weekday and there were not that many people at the restaurant that night. Food: Friedchickensandwich.com: EXCELLENT! I'm a huge fan of fried chicken and so I will almost always order it if it is on the menu. I really liked how there was a grilled pineapple on one side of the sandwich and pickles on the other because it gives it a nice contrasting but well blended flavor and I don't even like pickles! The honey-sriarcha sauce on it was decadent as well. Only problem (and I don't think you can call this a problem really) is that the sandwich was a little large for me to bite into because of the two pieces of fried chicken that come in it. Sweet Potato Strings: Honestly, this was such a disappointment and I really think should be taken off the menu. They felt, looked and tasted like those coffee stirrers and it was really quite inedible. I would advise people to avoid this at all costs and get something else that has better flavor/texture and is worth the money. Beer selection: Very good! We got 2 pitchers for $23 each which was not too bad between 4 people. I would definitely come here again and try other things on their menu! read more

Biergarten just gets worse and worse. I wasn't impressed before and I'm even less impressed now. I've been here twice in the past two weeks and seriously this place starts to piss me off now. The service is awful. It always takes forever to flag down a waiter to order food, get more beer, ask for water, get the check, everything!!! It's also not that busy either, I don't understand why it takes so long. I always have problems with the goddamn screens and what they are putting on too because I was there on a monday night once and they would not put the laker game on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only football. I politely asked the guy to change it and he said well, incoherentmurmurmurblahstupidshit and went away. I'm not asking you to put on the fucking toronto raptors game, it's the lakers!! in LA!!!!! Anyways though they have multiple screens it's pointless. The food is eh. Tried the Chosun burger, onion rings, fried wings, fried rice, etc. Yes the fried food is hot so it's good, but seriously nothing special. The one thing that merits the one star is the sweet potatoe strings which is consistently good. Otherwise, everything is subpar and I'm an awful cook and I could make better fried rice. Can't justify the prices either. Ladies' restroom is disgusting, smells horrible. They seriously need to do something about it. I came by here an hour before closing to grab some drinks after our dinner. It was a Sunday night, so we knew it wasn't going to be cracking or anything. The place was really mellow with faint music playing in the background. There's TVs, lots of seating space, and a bar area. My friend and I ordered peach soju and a flight of beer. Two other friends ordered some craft beers. The peach soju was so yummy. It literally tasted like juice. The flight of beers were cool. However what was not cool was when one of the servers tried to overcharge us for the peach soju when it was clearly on the HH menu LOL. Also what was really odd was how our server kept questioning our drink choices. He even brought a sample of one of my friend's craft beers because he thought it tasted weird. Bro, that's your opinion. Please don't question what other people prefer and like to order. That was sooooo strange to me. But other than that, cool place to hang out. read more

So glad I found this groovy gem! It's a cool spot that consists of everything I hope to experience at a gastropub. Just a note- they only have valet service (welcome to LA) but you're probably best finding parking at a meter right outside the establishment. I hate having to pay for valet when (i) there are many parking spots available and (ii) I don't need anyone parking my car when I'm clearly capable of parking it myself in a lot w/ so many open spaces. Moving on, I managed to book last minute reservations for the bar area. I arrived late and they still held the spots for me. Great intro and what a way to keep me happy. My first impression of the place is a a neighborly and comfortable atmosphere. Lights aren't too bright which makes any place much more enjoyable. The service was wonderful. Can't recall the bartender's name but he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. As for the drinks/food they have an extensive beer menu, which makes it stressful to choose from. My choice of food were nachos. They were so-so. I suggest you actually try the "Totchos". (Kind of like nachos except w/ tator-tots) Chick next to me ordered them and they looked amazing. How are the ratings for this place so high? They advertise themselves as a fusion restaurant but it's really just half a korean menu and half german... There isn't any sort of special twist on the dishes. 1 star for the nachos. Negative stars if I could. How do people eat this? The dish was cold so the meat and cheese were gross. There was also some sort of bitter sauce on it which wasn't appetizing. Nobody at our table liked it. We each took a few bites and just left it uneaten. 4 stars for the chicken wings: Spicy, crispy, flavorful. Korean fried chicken is always awesome. 3 stars for the sausages! Yummy. But 3 sausages for $30 is pushing it hahaha. Oh well. It is what it is. 2.5 stars for the galbi. It wasn't bad, but the portion was tiny and so overpriced for the quality. I can get much better galbi anywhere down the street for a fraction of the price. Good beer selection. Got overcharged for an extra beer but decided not to say anything about it since they took the nachos we didn't eat off the bill. Definitely won't be back though. read more

Ambiance: Though I'm not much of a sports bar fan, I thought the place was spacious, clean, and quiet enough for anyone to bring a date. It was semi-lit instead of some of the gross dark sports bars I've been to. They have a Valet Only Parking lot and street parking. Food: The food was ok, but the regular prices were ridiculous considering the quality. Happy Hour prices make it better. 1. Grilled Asparagus- $6 for 7 sticks of asparagus. I like that they were salty with a crunch provided with mayo. 2. Americana Burger- $11 LIked the King's Hawaiian buns and the flavor.. a little too much sauce which made it a little soggy. A crap ton of TVs, a wide selection of beers, and a quirky/ interesting menu, I'm in! I had a great experience here during the Clippers/ warriors game! Had to wait a while for a table but it was definitely worth it. (esp since the Clippers won!) My gfs and I ordered an entire table of food-- sausages, fried chicken, poutine fries, fried rice and some other ish... Not everything was amazing but there were some legit items. My friends and I particularly enjoyed the German fried rice. It had a multitude of flavors and textures. My friend went crazy for this. They also had a raspberry beer battered french toast that accompanied the fried chicken which was another fave. My only beef with that they didn't use a thicker toast. Came here on a Thursday night with my friends and it wasn't packed at all. There's only valet parking, which is great because I hate trying to find places to park in LA. Their menu isn't that big, but they do sell lots of alcohol. Here are some of the stuff we ordered. Poutine fries: OMGGGGG this tasted amazing!! The gravy is so bomb that I literally want to put it on everything I eat. There's cheese in this dish as well, I didn't like eating the cheese by itself, but with it melted and mixed in with the fries and gravy, it was delicious. I will forsure be back to eat this again. Kimchi fried rice: I didn't really like this dish that much, only because the texture of the rice was too hard for me. I prefer chewy or soft rice if anything. I liked how it was actually spicy though; a lot of restaurants don't make their kimchi fried rice spicy at all, so this one is prolly the spiciest I've tasted. Fried panko mushrooms: these were also very yummy. I love how crispy and crunchy they were, but I didn't like the blue cheese sauce they gave you to dip. Instead We asked for extra gravy and used it as sauce for the mushrooms. It was delicious. My friends got the chosun burger and the fried chicken dot com. They both said it was really good. The fried chicken is actually really juicy and crispy. The chosun burger had kimchi, meat patty and a spam in it. Service is okay, the lady didn't seem too friendly. read more

Having been to a real actual Beer Garden in Korea, I can say this one is the real deal, folks. Fruit plates and all. I'm not a drinker, so the vast array of tasty bar eats put this over the top for me. From super spicy fried chicken wings to boiled octopus--there's all kinds of authentic Korean pub eats here. There's also other treats like Korean style tacos and quesadillas for the less adventurous. Definitely a new entry in my Koreatown rotation. read more

Great variety of beers at a decent price. Ended up getting a Hoegaarden, ahhh so refreshing and tasty. Came in a big chilled goblet...felt extra manly haha. Also had the Hawaiian bread sliders with peanut butter. Small, but excellent. I could have eaten those little suckers all night, so good! Korean-style chicken was also pretty good. It was basically a whole chicken fried to crispy goodness. The place is pretty spacious. The night we came, it was bumpin. USC party on one side, a couple of birthday parties on the other. Yep. I have decided this place is pretty worthy of 5 stars. Came here again on Friday night to check out the 5-8pm Happy Hour. Finally got to try the food. 50% THE ENTIRE MENU!!!!!! *SPICY PORK QUESADILLA!!!!!! They really know how to make this good. Marinated spicy pork in traditional quesadilla. Served with Guac, Sour Cream and this fusion sauce of Korean Sweet Chili Sauce (Gochujang) and Mayo and some other stuff.... DELICIOUS!!! This is what I call GOOD EATS from LA! *Kalbi Tacos. 3 to an order, and they are spicy... it was alright, not sure if I would do these again. *Kung Fu Wings were kickin! They are awesome. The flavors are great. Traditional Korean pub food. *The Drunken Chicken was super tender and moist, pretty much fall off the bone. There was even table side presentation. Super high class. A bit bland for me, but it was very tender. I'm a huge fan.. but I also want to be selfish and not tell people about this great new find. Hmmm...Asian fusion... Korean and German. Very interesting but actually tasty. Location: Located on Western in between 1st and Beverly across from Subway and Pho 2000. Parking: Street meter parking free after 6pm or valet in small lot for $1.50. The Order: (I shared two bar bites with a friend and was quite full.) Short Rib Grilled Cheese $9 - think uber greasy patty melt but with tender short rib meat instead. I think there was onion but it may have been sauerkraut? I dunno but I rather enjoyed this concoction. I wrapped a napkin around it because it was soooo greasy. German Fried Rice $9 - a little spicy but delicious with sausage, sauerkraut, & fried egg on top. mmm carbs. Other: - Happy hour = 1 free pitcher when you order an entree (5-8pm) -Large screens for watching a game. Surprisingly not too crowded when I went during one of the NBA finals. -Takes reservations (there were 9 of us) -Hoppy is definitely not a lady's choice of drink. Just moved to K-town and needed to find a good spot for football. This place is it! Walked in around 11:30am on a Sunday and there was immediate seating, which is pretty unheard of at most sports bars. They have every game up on multiple televisions throughout the place, and they are very accommodating with requests. Good beer selection, GREAT food, and FOOTBALL!! Saturday night and this place was quieter than a friggin library. Multiple screens were playing the game, but not a peep to be heard. We only stopped in for a quick drink on our way to dinner so we got our drink on and split. Great selection of beer (obviously) and an interesting fusion menu (German fried rice, peanut butter sliders and the usual korean bar fare.) The only amusing thing was when my friend ordered a stein and a huuuuge mug came out. Apparently a stein is a liter of beer. Good to know for next time, if there is one. read more
