I remember reading a long time ago that Alyssa Milano as a proud Italian did not eat spaghetti because it was too commercialized and over-utilized in America. She ate other pastas. I didn't have any grand reason as that for preferring linguine as my pasta noodle of choice. My favorite childhood Italian family food joint used linguine as their "spaghetti" so that was what I thought of when it came to most pairings of sauce to noodle. Pomodoro, bolognese, and even my current sauce of choice, chili, will always be paired with linguine if I had my druthers. So it's always a bit disappointing to see a fresh pasta place not even offer it on the menu. I don't think it's a fair measuring stick comparing linguine to a spaghetti, a fett, or even a rotelle like I had here. They will never measure up because the mouth feel wil always be off. Don't mistake me; the rotelle Pomodoro was quite tasty, especially with that decent-sized meatball and focaccia on the side. That sauce was even a good choice because I always liked the simpler sauces. But always, always I think about how much better the meal would've gone with a nice linguine steering the ship. The service was good, if a bit brusque. The food came out quick and the server was even nicer serving than when I ordered. I like the ambiance too. Everything is spaced nicely for a restaurant this size. It feels relaxing in here and a place you can could host a good meal with a small set of friends. They bring your dishes to your table for you, and are even nice enough to give free water bottles rather than tap! The spaghetti with bolognese sauce and 3 meatballs was $25. Garlic bread $8 add pomodoro sauce $4. They gave free facasia bread, it was absolutely average , oil was ok but I didn't care for the balsamic at all. Cesar salad was below average, did not taste any anchovy flavor at all. I would given 2 stars until I bit into a price of bone or grizzle about 1/2" in diameter. Really grossed me out. One and done for us. By way of comparison, Vince's or the old spaghetti factory are way better for the price and we don't care for either of those, however they both are predictable and consistent. I can't believe I am writing this for my once favorite neighborhood gem. I have been going here since day one and my favorite dish was the salmon pasta. I have noticed a decline in customer service and the pasta dishes can be hit and miss. But, today was the worse. The cashier was awful, not friendly. You go up to the counter to pay upfront when you're ready to order. They do bring the food to your table. However, when I went on a Wednesday at 6:30pm, there was only one person who was both in charge of the counter and also bringing out food. Since there aren't a lot of staff, there isn't a lot of service, and the wait may be on the longer side. When we first arrived, it was relatively empty and quiet inside, but the few indoor tables filled up quickly after. Despite how busy the one server may have been, she was very nice and efficient and made sure to offer us more fresh warm focaccia and bottled waters when she came by to bring us our pasta. The place was also very well-kept and clean. I did notice that the menu items were significantly fewer than what people posted on Yelp in the past few months. Between the short staffing and menu reduction, I wonder if they are struggling financially. Regardless, the pasta was delicious and this restaurant should absolutely have our support! We ordered to-go the must get Spicy Sausage Ragu and a Fettuccine Alfredo. The price for the spicy sausage ragu was $24, but worth it. It's savory, a little sweet, perfectly seasoned, and full of exceptional flavors. SO SO SCRUMPTIOUS! I would get this dish every time. My mouth is watering right now. As for the fettuccine alfredo, my daughter said it was just okay. It was lacking some sauce. Btw, they give out complimentary bottled waters, freshly baked focaccia bread with your take-out order, plus little duckies. Thank you Pinwheel Pasta!!! I believe they make everything themselves which it's worth it. We ordered via Door Dash and picked it up. I had some paparadelle dish and added a meatball for fun and ended up loving the meatball. The paparadelle was a also great. They give you a good sized portion in one of those meal prep boxes (I got mine to go). Inside it's really cute and there's rubber ducks at the register.
