We were craving pizza, so decided to try this place. The dining area is pretty big and clean. We walked over to the front to place our order. We got a large pizza - half lebanese garlic chicken half brisket and a lb of crispy wings with 3 sauces on the side. We tried the Jamaican jerk, lemon pepper, and red dragon. My daughter also wanted to try a cheesecake, so we got the strawberry shortcake flavor. The food came out and we were in love of the brightness of the pizza. The lebanese garlic chicken was so colorful! The wings are baked and super crispy!!!! I loved both flavors of the pizza. They are very unique. I tried the Jamaican jerk sauce on the wings and WOW it was very spicy!!! The red dragon was like a sweet and sauce sauce with a little kick as well. We've been here multiple times now, and despite it being a little pricey, it's absolutely worth it. We're obsessed with the halal carne asada pizza... easily the reason we keep coming back. The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and has a really nice ambiance. We actually live much closer to the Maywood location, but we prefer this one because the neighborhood feels safer and the overall vibe is better. I believe both locations are fully halal. One thing to note: if you order the XL pizza, the crust is much thinner than the regular sizes. We didn't realize that when ordering online, so that's partly on us, but I do wish it was made a little more obvious during checkout. It seems like parking could be a bit tight if it's busy since there's a small dedicated lot, but we usually go later at night and haven't had any issues. We still haven't tried the wings or subs yet, but they're definitely on our list for next time. Overall, this place has become one of our go-to spots and we'll definitely keep coming back! read more

We were in the area for an event and wanted something quick. We were interested in the slices and decided on cheese, pepperoni, smoked brisket and carne asada slices. The smoked brisket was the star and would get 4 stars alone. Wish we had ordered another one of those because the other slices were okay. The others did not stand out but the ranch offered helped. Stopped by Big Al's Pizzeria with my family and was so impressed with the quality of food and service. I will definitely add Big Al's to my standing rotation of spots to hit whether I'm craving pizza or wings! We tried pizzas, wings, and dessert to taste the full spread of what Big Al has to offer. Things I appreciated from the get-go: food is baked to order, with fresh ingredients, no use of seed oils, and halal-ready pizzas (which can be often hard to find with pizza). Pizza: We ordered a large and tried 1/2 Lebanese Chicken and 1/2 Hawaiian Brisket. Both sides were bursting with flavor, with a thick garlicky crust. Personally, I enjoyed the Hawaiian Brisket the best because I felt that the barbeque sauce, brisket, and pineapple combo just blew my socks off. It was probably the best Hawaiian pizza I've ever had! Wings: We tried 1 lb of lemon pepper and 1 lb of Jamaican jerk wings. I absolutely loved the lemon pepper! It was crisp and tender, without feeling too oily or greasy with the perfect amount of zest. The Jamaican jerk was also good, but not a personal favorite of mine as I felt that it was too spicy for my tastes, but my parents loved it! Dessert: We also opted for a homemade cheesecake made by Big Al's wife (@cinamoms on Instagram if you want to order just sweets). This was so delicious--creamy and buttery with a thick flaky crust that made it a meal to absolutely enjoy. Ambience: Decor is modern and clean, with plenty of seating throughout the restaurant that can accommodate large parties. Service: - Although in a busy area of Downtown Orange where parking can be limited, they have their own parking in the back - Service is quick, efficient, and friendly. I got a half carne asada half buffalo chicken ranch pizza with some lemon pepper wings. Ordered a few pizzas here but was relatively disappointed considering this is supposed to be to be a more "premium" option. The specialty pizzas were okay, the supreme being my personal favorite. The one topping pizzas were not great. The main issue with these pizzas is that they feel dry, and not worth the premium price. There is too little sauce and cheese causing the dryness. A seasoned crust would be nice as well. I was pretty underwhelmed with the toppings. $37 for a 16" thin crust pizza is definitely at a higher price point and I'd expect it to be loaded up, which it wasn't. Even much cheaper places are more generous with their meat toppings. Overall I wouldn't order again. Specialty pizzas are okay, one toppings feel low end. Unfortunately, the pizza was a miss for me. The crust was tough and hard to chew. There was barely any pepperoni (initially I thought they forgot it then realized it was there, just really skimped) so it felt like I was eating a veggie pizza which was not what I wanted. My new favorite pizza spot!! Having all beef toppings or chicken on pizza is something I didn't know I needed. There's no extra saltiness or grease at all. Ordering online for in store pick up is very convenient, but the pizza was slightly cold upon pickup. No problem at all reheating in an air fryer at home. Spicy Hawaiian brisket was indeed spicy! You don't taste the spice while you're chewing, and then all of a sudden it hits you in the back of the throat. I loved that the Supreme had tiny veggies chopped instead of large slivers of bell peppers and onions. All the toppings were evenly distributed and they were quite generous with the meat! XL pizza can easily feed 3 people with extra leftovers. Now, that strawberry shortcake cheesecake is well worth the $12!! It tastes EXACTLY like those strawberry shortcake ice cream bars. The extra layer of strawberry in the middle is genius and adds so much strawberry flavor to the slice. To me, it tastes bests when thawed for ~30 minutes and has a slightly frozen center. Got the carne asada pizza. It was so delicious!! The red salsa they drizzle on top was more on the spicy side but bearable for me. I wish it wasn't so expensive in my opinion because I would love to have kept going here but it won't be a regular for me. A 10" pizza is $20 and thats expensive in my opinion. Next size up is I believe $32 for a large. So if price doesn't matter then I definitely recommend this spot. A slice of pie is $12! So that just gives you a view of how expensive it is. I love this place. It's been one of my favorites since they first opened. We ordered a pizza the other day that was so disappointing. I was actually craving it and I ordered with the hesitation from my husband being so expensive for just a pizza. We picked it up and all the way home it smelled amazing! My granddaughter was coming over and she had never tried the pizza there before and I was telling her this is the "best pizza place", the "pizza is so good and my favorite" etc.. Then, we opened up the lid of the box and I was shocked at the tiny amount of meat on it, the look of it, and the lack of extra cheese that we paid for on top of the $37 price for the pizza. We ended up paying $42. Let's just say my husband was pretty upset. So was I because I was looking forward to the normal pizza we get from there and also to share with my granddaughter how good it was (supposed to be). She wasn't impressed. Worried this is going to be the norm now. I glanced through photos of other pizzas like what I ordered just to check and they were loaded with toppings. Just don't understand what happened with ours. The flavor was still as good as always but it was just the most pathetic looking pizza for $42 I've ever seen. I'm guessing my husband won't be wanting to go there ever again. Was craving some jerk chicken and found this place served chicken wings with a Jamaican jerk sauce. This place was a complete miss for me and personally didn't enjoy the flavor. While I appreciate the creativity in the menu offerings, my first experience left me unimpressed. I ordered some wings with the Jamaican jerk sauce and a small Lebanese garlic chicken pizza. Starting with the wings, it didn't remind me of jerk chicken. It was costed in a thick green sauce which doesn't resemble classic jerk chicken. The sauce definitely had a kick and was spicy but the worst part for me was how overwhelmingly sweet it was. Jerk chicken is known for its deep smoky flavor and Jamaican spices. Nothing close to the jerk chicken I've had. The chicken itself was a good portion, but due to it being a wet sauce, the wings weren't crispy. I was excited to try the Lebanese garlic chicken pizza because I love my chicken rice with garlic sauce. I thought it was interesting to see it translated into pizza form. While I appreciate the effort and creativity, I wasn't sold. The pizza itself was very dry and found myself needing to dunk it in the ranch. Did not care for the pizza dough at all and it felt very frozen pizza-esque. The crust held its shape with all the toppings but there was no personality or special texture with the dough. I ordered ahead online and when I got there I stood at the counter for a bit before anyone acknowledged me. I then had to wait longer for the food to finish.
