large pizza half Lebanese Garlic Chicken and half big al's supreme (@justjewelvibes)
Jewel C.

this place is super close to old town orange/orange circle! I loved the crust on this pizza. we got a large with half lebanese garlic chicken and half big al's supreme and while the lebanese garlic chicken is unique, my favorite was the supreme. we also got the lemon pepper wings which was interesting because it was liquid so the wings were drenched in the sauce, instead of the normal dry rub that i'm used to. service was great they were very friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]there's a large area to eat in store but looks like most people got to go[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We were craving pizza, so decided to try this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is pretty big and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We walked over to the front to place our order. We got a large pizza - half lebanese garlic chicken half brisket and a lb of crispy wings with 3 sauces on the side. We tried the Jamaican jerk, lemon pepper, and red dragon. My daughter also wanted to try a cheesecake, so we got the strawberry shortcake flavor. The food came out and we were in love of the brightness of the pizza. The lebanese garlic chicken was so colorful! The wings are baked and super crispy!!!! I loved both flavors of the pizza. They are very unique. I tried the Jamaican jerk sauce on the wings and WOW it was very spicy!!! The red dragon was like a sweet and sauce sauce with a little kick as well. I definitely would come here again to try the other unique flavors!! 10/10

Wait, I really wish I knew about this sooner because their food was so good!!! I loved the BBQ chicken pizza, lemon pepper wings, and sweet & spicy wings. It was soooo delicious that I actually ate the chicken properly (very rare lol). I also got to try their Biscoff and strawberry Oreo cheesecake, they were so lovely !!! I can't wait to come back here!

Great service Great amazing pizza extremely disappointed with the wings. :(. Sad. Such a long drive. However first time this has happened and I'm been going to Big Al's for a while now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's still a great place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I Just need to not request them crispy.

I had such a great experience at Big Al's Pizzeria! I love that they have so many halal options, and the fusion of Mexican and Lebanese flavors makes the menu so unique and to be honest one of my favs because I LOVE FUSION FOOD! The staff was incredibly welcoming from the moment we walked in and gave us great recommendations on what to order, which made the experience even better. We tried the sweet and spicy wings, and they were absolutely delicious a bit spicy but yummy. The wait wasn't long at all, the restaurant has plenty of convenient parking, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also love that you can catch a game while you eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're looking for a spot with amazing food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere, Big Al's is definitely worth checking out!

Stopped by Big Al's Pizzeria with my family and was so impressed with the quality of food and service. I will definitely add Big Al's to my standing rotation of spots to hit whether I'm craving pizza or wings! We tried pizzas, wings, and dessert to taste the full spread of what Big Al has to offer. Things I appreciated from the get-go: food is baked to order, with fresh ingredients, no use of seed oils, and halal-ready pizzas (which can be often hard to find with pizza). Pizza: We ordered a large and tried 1/2 Lebanese Chicken and 1/2 Hawaiian Brisket. Both sides were bursting with flavor, with a thick garlicky crust. Personally, I enjoyed the Hawaiian Brisket the best because I felt that the barbeque sauce, brisket, and pineapple combo just blew my socks off. It was probably the best Hawaiian pizza I've ever had! Wings: We tried 1 lb of lemon pepper and 1 lb of Jamaican jerk wings. I absolutely loved the lemon pepper! It was crisp and tender, without feeling too oily or greasy with the perfect amount of zest. The Jamaican jerk was also good, but not a personal favorite of mine as I felt that it was too spicy for my tastes, but my parents loved it! Dessert: We also opted for a homemade cheesecake made by Big Al's wife (@cinamoms on Instagram if you want to order just sweets). This was so delicious--creamy and buttery with a thick flaky crust that made it a meal to absolutely enjoy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience: Decor is modern and clean, with plenty of seating throughout the restaurant that can accommodate large parties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: - Although in a busy area of Downtown Orange where parking can be limited, they have their own parking in the back - Service is quick, efficient, and friendly. I was able to meet Big Al, the owner, who is the SWEETEST! He kindly walked us through all his best recommendations given it was our first time here. Overall Impression: 10/10 experience and flavors. Will definitely come back again for more pizza, wings, and the ability to support a small family business!

Big Als Pizzeria is located in Old Towne Orange. Theres street parking nearby or small parking lots around , you just might have to walk a bit. I got a half carne asada half buffalo chicken ranch pizza with some lemon pepper wings. The carne asada pizza was very good! the salsa on top adds the perfect kick of spicyness and the buffalo ranch was really good as well! the wings are baked & they were juicy. I wish I wouldve got something spicier instead of lemon pepper but I was sharing with my brother. Definitely recommend this place tho! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of room inside w/ Tvs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

YOOOOO THIS PLACE IS FIREE! there's parking behind the place very quick and easy. I never been here before but when me and my girl went, it was so delicious. 10/10 customer service thank you Samuel for your time and hospitality. YOURE THE BOMB super sweet and welcoming 10/10 if you're reading this and you're not sure what flavor to choose, Smoky Brisket with Pineapple THAT WAS SO YUMMY and savory 9/10 on the lemon pepper chickens mhmm mhmm it comes out so fresh too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]10/10 seating inside!! There's so much room and good vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you so much!! Will come again. Lots of different variety of pizza flavors. Very shareable

The place is clean and I appreciated the positive vibe and artwork. The staff was really friendly. I ordered a custom small pizza with pepperoni, mushroom, and black olives. Unfortunately, the pizza was a miss for me. The crust was tough and hard to chew. There was barely any pepperoni (initially I thought they forgot it then realized it was there, just really skimped) so it felt like I was eating a veggie pizza which was not what I wanted. It didn't have a lot of cheese either. It was pricey for the quality. Kudos to the staff for their positive attitude but improvements need to be done on the food.

Came in here with some family and left satisfied! We got pepperoni, cheese, BBQ chicken and cheeseburger pizza. The BBQ chicken was by far the BEST flavor they had. Everything was hot and fresh, and it reheated well the next day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is not the best and service is okay[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], we ordered ahead to make the wait time reasonable.

I finally got around to trying this extremely popular, halal pizza spot in Orange. First off, I have to say it's really pricey for a large pizza (that looks like a medium dominos pizza) lol HOWEVER, it's worth the price! The carne asada pizza was top notch. It had an amazing flavor profile. Crunchy crust, right amount of cheese and toppings Service was good and the ambiance wasn't too inviting so I would probably just go to-go orders.

XL half and half: Spicy Hawaiian Brisket, Big Al's Supreme
Trinh N.

My new favorite pizza spot!! Having all beef toppings or chicken on pizza is something I didn't know I needed. There's no extra saltiness or grease at all. Ordering online for in store pick up is very convenient, but the pizza was slightly cold upon pickup. No problem at all reheating in an air fryer at home. Spicy Hawaiian brisket was indeed spicy! You don't taste the spice while you're chewing, and then all of a sudden it hits you in the back of the throat. I loved that the Supreme had tiny veggies chopped instead of large slivers of bell peppers and onions. All the toppings were evenly distributed and they were quite generous with the meat! XL pizza can easily feed 3 people with extra leftovers. Now, that strawberry shortcake cheesecake is well worth the $12!! It tastes EXACTLY like those strawberry shortcake ice cream bars. The extra layer of strawberry in the middle is genius and adds so much strawberry flavor to the slice. To me, it tastes bests when thawed for ~30 minutes and has a slightly frozen center. Get the Jamaican and Red Dragon sauces on the side!! These were both flavor bombs and accompanied the pizza very well. Red dragon with the supreme and Jamaican on the spicy Hawaiian.

Lebanese Garlic Chicken

No frills pizza shop in downtown Orange. Their Barbecue Chicken Pizza is and ranch dressing are INSANE. I would 1000% percent come back just for that. We also ordered a Lebanese Garlic Chicken pizza. I didn't try other menu items, but in general liked how unique their menu is. The restaurant is also Halal :)

I approached the register twice & zero attention was given. Why have a neon sign that says By The Slice but you don't sell by the slice ?

What happened to the rewards we used to earn?

Hi Julie, our rewards system moved to the app and is now all automated! Download the app (Big Al's Pizzeria) in the Apple or Google Play store. Thanks!

Your website mentions certification by Halal Transactions of Omaha (HTO). HTO certifies machine slaughtered chicken as zabiha but if I'm looking for strictly hand-slaughtered chicken, would you be able to confirm if your chicken is hand-slaughtered?

Chicken on pizza is hand slaughtered and the wings are machine slaughtered. I Dm the owner that's what he said!

Are you guys officially open?

Yes they are as of 12/22/2022 in Orange, CA but waiting time is longer then expected so be prepared.

I came here on a Tuesday evening with two of my brothers and a friend came here to hangout. Me and…read moremy friend are not lamb fans and was a bit hesitant on ordering the food so we did hold off on ordering for ourselves. And said we decided to share and eat off of my two brothers plate before we decided to consider coming back or eating more. There was only one worker that was working at the time, but she did a phenomenal job, considering she was holding down the fort for the restaurant by herself. She also mentioned she doesn't like lamb, but she would eat the one here herself so it gave me a pretty good first impression thus far. We ordered the lamb skewers, grilled rib, shank over rice, homemade yogurt, and Cole slaw. Lamb Skewers - 4.5/5 the portion was very generous! $15 for 3 large skewers that was about 1.25 ft length each. Was perfectly grilled and did not taste gamey at all. I believe it was Szechuan pepper that seasoned the skewers. I didn't eat enough to recognize if there was any numbing, but the bite that I took was amazing. Outside was crunchy inside was chewy enough to enjoy, but not tough. Grilled rib - 5/5 I was very pleasantly surprised at how although it was very charred and crunchy in the outside that the inside was very soft and fatty. The meat literally fell off the bone. Again, no gaminess and very pleasant to enjoy. Shank - 5/5 I would have to say that this was the hero of the evening from all the dishes we ordered. The meat was extremely soft, fatty, and literally fell off the bone as I was holding it up. It was very similar to pork flavor and extremely enjoyable for me. On a separate note, I enjoyed that so much but because I had already eaten before this dinner, I came back a separate day to have that dish for myself. The rice seems to be cooked in some type of protein broth and if I had to guess it's probably lamb broth along with carrot. It also came with size of pickled items to lighten the fatness from the meat as well as a small bowl of lamb based soup. Homemade yogurt - 4/5 had a slight tartness to it and light sweetness, but was more leaning towards the sweet side of things. I enjoyed it with the dried raisins and the granola for texture and it was a pretty good ending to the entire meal. Coleslaw - 3/5 it tasted average and didn't seem to be anything special. Though it was good to have it along with all the other protein items to lighten up each bite.

It's basically a dream come true for lamb lovers -- almost every meat dish on the menu is lamb! This popular halal restaurant specializes in Xinjiang-style lamb dishes. The lamb rib with rice was incredibly tender and practically fell off the bone. The grilled lamb shank and grilled lamb ribs are also must-orders if you love bold, flavorful dishes. And don't miss the lamb skewers! They come in both spicy and non-spicy options. One thing that really surprised me was their classic sweet tea. They also have a salty version... but we definitely went with sweet. Oh, and you can request extra side dishes and soup too! Definitely come hungry. IG: socalhkfoodies

Premium combo = entree + $10 Entree + premium drink + masala fries I tried the bowl with mild biryani, malai chicken, green (mild) sauce, and guava mango lassi. The bowl already comes with the raita sauce (a yogurt sauce), so I got the green sauce as my choice of sauce after asking the staff for recommendations. The protein portion was super generous and very well-seasoned with their spice. The green sauce was my favorite and everything in the bowl mixed well together. The whole bowl was delicious and it didn't feel heavy, wasn't greasy. The Kashmiri Chai and the guava mango lassi are the most popular drinks, so I decided to try the guava mango lassi. The flavors blended so well. One wasn't more overpowering than the other, and the sweetness level was perfect for me, also, not too much ice. Masala fries So crispy and well-seasoned!! Could be a little less salty. Gulab jamun cheesecake Also asked for recommendations for their cheesecakes and decided to go with this one. It has the fried donut ball in the middle with syrup. It didn't taste too sweet to me, but I also have higher tolerance for sweets. The center has so much of the cheesecake cheese and it was super soft and fluffy. So delicious! The samosas were also great! Crispy and not too oily. I also love that they use compostable takeout containers, including the lid! The interior looks nice and there are a few seats available. There's outdoor shaded tables and seats too. The only downside is that I wish the outdoor seats were a bit cleaner. There is a free parking garage, just make sure to park in the retail spaces. There was enough parking. The staff members are so helpful and very friendly. Can order with a staff member or using their kiosk. HIGHLY recommend!! Would definitely go back!

It was honestly very sad to see as we had been seeing ads pop up places but with zero customers, not sure how they will continue operating. Also, almost half of their menu was not available at this time. The good: as we were the only customers, all staff were coming by to ask how things were. No crazy talking over people. The bad: The restaurant was fairly clean, but there were no hand towels in the women's bathroom. One of the four plates we received for our table had food on it. I wiped it down with a tissue. There is no tandoor setup at the moment. The menu is way overpriced for the quantity of food being served. Food: we ordered a mango lassi, bun kabob, daga kabob, chicken karahi, garlic naan, plain naan, and a paratha. Mango lassi - it was watered down. Missing real mango flavor and the tartiness of the yogurt. Bun kabob - this was fairly good. The egg with daal patty and onions with the chutney was authentic. It's a little pricey, though, for the size. Daga Kabob - this was the star of our experience. The meat was super tender and melt in your mouth with enough spice. But for $20 a plate, I am expecting a lot more. I would also suggest adding a tamarind or green chutney to complimemt this dish. I also found parts of this dish to be a little cold. I'm not sure why. Chicken karahi (half) - My husband liked this dish, but for me, it had too much of a homely taste. This is the type of karahi I make at home, so it wasn't anything special for me. Also, I didn't expect to be served 5 pieces of leg in one dish. They need to have a variety of peices of chicken. The spice level (we ordered spicy) was good. Naan - okay, so how do you open a restaurant and serve people naan out of a packet. I find this practice to be super irritating. It's not justifiable in any sense. I can go pick up from the local grocery store if I want this experience. Paratha - Again, this was a homestyle paratha. I feel like it was also a store bought vs. Hand-made, but I could be wrong. Overall, I think they need to either decrease their prices or increase their plate sizes. It is their opening weekend, and I wish them the best.
