I'm disappointed it took me 10 years to try this place! We went twice today to make up for it. I think the few people here complaining about the service have spent too many meals at chain diners. There were no fake nice staff, there was a small town diner, feeding your family sort of feel. The staff were all friendly without putting that bubbly fake attitude. All the food was seasoned, nothing bland. There was one thing we didn't love but that goes to show you they actually work hard on home cooking instead of making everything bland and boring. It came out with one stingy pat of butter, cold syrup and about one teaspoon of powdered sugar. It was so tough that I had to use my husband's knife to cut it. I ordered food to-go at this diner a few months ago and I was extremely disappointed, but I thought it was just a fluke so I decided to try this place again. I was appalled and extremely disappointed by not only the customer service but the lack of care by the staff in general this second time. Kayla took my order over the phone, she told me a time in which the food would be ready, come to find out it was another 15 minutes on top of what she already told me (25 minutes compared to her 10-15min quote). As I was waiting for my food, I noticed how blatantly rude she was to the customers coming into the restaurant. I get it, customer service is stressful and working in a restaurant is ten times more stressful. However, as the host, you are the first thing people see when you walk in. Maybe smile or acknowledge the lobby instead of yelling WHO ISNT ON THE LIST? Next, I get my food home and come to find out, I didn't get what I ordered. I was visiting someone who lives 30 mins away and I don't live nearby as it is. I called and got someone who passed the phone to Kayla, I told Kayla my issue (I didn't get what I ordered) and instead of putting me on hold to find help I heard her say AMANDA, TAKE THIS, I CANT DEAL WITH THIS. I asked Amanda if she can give me a refund of the food I didn't get, she said she cant do that without the card and she offered to give me cash next time I come in or a "voucher" for a future visit. Amanda went over my order with me and Kayla was arguing with me through Amanda saying I didn't say that, etc. Needless to say, I will never come to this restaurant ever again. I don't complain to get free food, but I wanted what I paid for. Amanda did the best she could with an error Kayla made. Kayla needs to be better trained when it comes to customer service in the food industry. If you are going to be doing to-go's, maybe you need to double check the order before you hurry people on their way. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

Down hill slide, this used to be a good reasonably priced diner to obtain a decent meal, not so anymore. Prices are high for diner food and nothing special about any of the meals. Service is typically acceptable. The last few times we have come here we had nothing but disappointment food very sad. Yes they use lunch meat in their french dip and Philly cheesesteak which is way overpriced, the chili used on the chili burger tasted like they used spaghetti sauce to make the chili one disappointment after another. Went there for breakfast, husband had eggs, sausage and a waffle and i got german potato cakes (with apple sauce) and a cinnamon role. Both had coffe as well. Even though the potato pancakes had sausage in it (what i'm not used to) they tasted good, it was not enough apple sauce at all. I'm used to having up to a cup of sauce, not just 1 tablespoon full. The cinnamon roll tasted awesome, which was probably more the cheesecake frosting than the roll itself. It was an enormous amout of frosting, really. Unfortunately later that day all the good food chose to come out of me the fastest way possible which was quite unneccesary since i was stuck at work. Don't want to blame the diner on sellig bad food, but there was something that just didn't interact with my body. Don't think i'll go there again, which is also sad somce it tasted good but it's just not worth another try (paid 35€ total). read more

I wouldn't say it was bad but not remarkable and not remarkably good. My wife ordered the Honey dipped Chicken. It was overdone and bland. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. The gravy was bland as well and cold on top of my breaded steak The Diner is nothing to write home about, but since Bremerton is now my home then I will keep searching for another gem. It's a nice and clean restaurant with a colorful entrance plus oldies music to sing along with while waiting for your meal. Service is good and the ladies are very attentive. The only thing I would recommend not to order are the burgers. The meat looks and tastes like its filler. You should go next door and buy your own meat to make at home. Haven't been here since I was little but used to love it there so decided to try it again. Me and my boyfriend went after I got off work, was greeted by a blond women who was completely rude to us off the bat waited for someone to come our table but wasn't acknowledged. Amanda was our server, she very nice and took our order and got it out with good speed, loved the food and definitely will be back. Moved into the area last year and have been here 4 times, every single time been greeted with a smile, quickly seated and just all around very pleasant. Wait staff is great and on the ball and hasn't gotten a single order wrong. The club house sandwich is always great, chicken fried steak I'd recommend and the 8oz ribeye was cooked perfectly.
