We came for the Indian food... we just moved to belfair and notice their marquee that said they serve Indian food. we always only go to one place but since we lived it's kinda far.. Service was amazing hostess was super helpful on making recommendation off their Indian menu. I will say the place is super cute give a great hometown diner like someplace my grandpa would take when I went to visit over the summer. They did get top ten 2023 best steak on Guru.. If you like pull tabs they have them.. We ordered the garlic naan, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and samosa spice level medium. We did do a to go order so we could watch Netflix and eat our dinner. I will say the American dishes coming out of the window looked great especially the patty melt. The portions are really small for the price 17 bucks for the chicken tikka and only like a cup of rice. The samosa are 2 for 6 bucks the yogurt sauce is amazing. The flavor of the food is really great. But it's rather expensive for what we got quantity versus price.. if you like spicy I'd definitely order spicy. Not medium read more

This place used to be filthy but it had a deep cleaning maybe two years ago and it's still clean. It's been a big improvement. We dropped in on the spur of the moment at a slow hour but as is often the case service was super slow because there was one person ahead of us. But we were deep in conversation so it didn't annoy us a lot. Once we did get service they were swift to refill coffee cups so we were happy about that and speeding by the time we left. We ordered 3-egg veggie omelettes but they brought omelettes loaded with rubbery square blocks of ham which we dug out to take home to the dogs; two out of three of the dogs thought that was swell, the third seemed to say, "What in heck is this stuff? A cut up super-ball?" These couldn't possibly have been three eggs unless they're buying extra-small eggs during a period of high prices on eggs. These were an egg and a half per omelette, wonderfully paper thin but not big around. Probably would've tasted great if we got what we ordered but what we got instead was kind of a misery. The hashbrowns were pleasant, toast was perfect, and we shared a short stack that was a really good pancake, so we definitely did not go home hungry. We told the waitress we didn't order these omelettes, and she said she wrote it down correctly and she didn't know why the cook got it wrong. She didn't offer to remake them, and we didn't ask 'em too as it took a super long to make the first ones and we were running out of time. We thought we should get a small discount for the little rubber blocks we shoveled to the side, but that wasn't forthcoming. Everyone makes mistakes so it's not a one-star review from me. But it'll be hard to forget and I have a fearful feeling it's the last time we drop in to Jimmy D's if we remember this day every time we drive near it. It's been there so long, though, it feels like it's historic. Though I do still miss when it was the Golden Ox; there was a cook named Aris who was a great cook and a great gent. read more

With the name, you would not suspect an Indian menu as well as America food. It has an American diner decor, but a pleasant curry aroma. The waitstaff was attentive, but didn't really seem to know anything about Indian food. We ordered samosas but got samosa chatt, which was smashed samosas covered in sauce. The waitress didn't know the difference but that's what she could find on the electronic ordering system. They were out of saag. We got butter chicken and something with paneer about the medium spice level. Both were good. I think we left a little disappointed as we were not able to get what we were craving. We come to Jimmy D's often. There are few places open early and serving booze and breakfast in the morning. Their breakfast is great. We shared the Chicken Fried Steak platter and it was excellent. I believe they make it from scratch. The service is always great with an attentive bartender who keeps your glass full and pulls dirty dishes right away. Ambiance is upscale dive bar. Cozy and warm. We're vegan and this is the closest Indian food option and it's amazing food! We tried the Bangan Bharta, Okra Masala, and the Aloo Saag and all were great! We got it medium spice level and that wasn't spicy at all, at least for us as we love spicy food so next time we'll get spicy if not extra spicy. We'll see. Flavor wise, it was great. The eggplant was so smokey you could smell it - it was so good! This is going to be our new go-to for Indian food! And yes, they still have an American menu, we just love Indian food and it's one of the most vegan friendly cuisine out there. read more

We were on our way to see the Garth Brooks drive in concert in Bremerton and found this spot along our route We called in and placed a take out order which was ready when we arrived then we headed a few miles down the road to eat at the drive in. I had their fish and chips which was pretty good other than the fish may have been a TAD overcooked as it wasn't flaky. Fries were on point. Tarter sauce was good too! Classic dive bar crowd (including one dude telling really bad dad jokes no one wanted to hear) a waitress on her first day (who did very well, considering). It was basically clean or very clean by dive bar standards. We ordered two vodka and sodas and the pour was great. As one would expect from a joint like this. Then I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and he ordered the jimmy d deluxe. My burger was a little overdone and the fries needed salt but all in all not terrible at all. It came fast and had super fresh lettuce and tomatoes on it, which was nice. Their tarter sauce could use some flavor, but again, exactly what you'd expect from a dive bar. Was so happy to find good Indian food near where I live. Wectried it for lunch. Not too many menu choices (LOTS of chicken dishes) but very tasty and reasonably priced for the amount of food. Went back for dinner on a Monday only to find KARAOKE in the restaurant area! We left. First off, I HATE karaoke, and I think it belongs in a bar area, where diners don't have to hear it. It was too loud, and I want more peaceful surroundings during dinner. Too bad this is now off my list for Monday dinners, maybe all dinners if this happens all the time in the evening. Went there a couple weeks ago. Under new owners now. Ordered the special which was the country skillet. Think the waitresses must of been family or the owners. They kept My coffee cup full but the food was another story. Biscuits and gravy used to be really good, now they tasted not homemade. Gravy tasted like it was out of a can. The sausage patty was horrible tasting and the best thing on the plate was the hashbrowns. This place needs a makeover like a lot of the mom and pop joints out here. our table was wobbling around, looks like they tried to jam some paper under the ledge of the window to steady the table which did not work. I had heard good things about this place but was very disappointed. We came for Indian food but it wasn't on the menu. The waitress and cook were the only people present when we were there at 6pm. I ordered a hamburger steak and it was supposed to come with soup or salad, choice of potato and with either Texas toast or a roll. The waitress really took her time coming to us even though we were the only ones there. I asked for the soup but she wasn't sure what soup they had so she ran off to talk to the cook and there was no soup. So I asked for a salad and she looked for the price of a salad. We had to tell her it came with the meal. Once she read the menu, she said oh so you're also getting fries with that. I wanted a baked potato but did not correct her because judging by everything else it probably would be dry and without toppings since we had to ask specifically for each thing that was supposed to come with our meals anyway. She didn't ask at all about the bread but just gave us Texas toast. We also had dry veges with no salt. Like it was heated from frozen, drained and given as is. My husband liked his steak. We agreed even if the guy who makes Indian food was there, we wouldn't be back. Very disappointed. No wonder it was empty on a Sunday at dinner time. read more

I also ordered the thick cut fries and got what tasted and seemed to be frozen fries that were freezer burned. The food looked so bad I didn't even take the time to try it. I took it to go to find a homeless person to give it to because I didn't want it to go to waist. Out of curiosity I did try one fry and a piece of the brisket. It tasted like beef jerky and dry. The fries as I suspected tasted freezer burned. I ended up finding a homeless person to give it to and as I drove off I got to see them open the to go container and the look of disappointment even on a homeless person said it all about this restaurants food. Where do I even start...The brisket had just enough moisture to not be classified as beef jerky there's zero seasoning or butter added to the mashed potatoes, the gravy is from a package, the Texas toast is from the freezer section at your local store, the vegetables came from the same frozen food aisle, canned beans I'm pretty sure we're hienz baked beans! The French dip was dry and the beef was over done. Everything was either overcooked, prepackaged and all of it was bland! The only thing good about this place was the service. The waitress was great! Ordered prime rib to go. Way over cooked potatoes were awful and canned corn. No condiments were given. Then we called back and was told that they would accommodate us the following weekend. Instead of that they decided to have Indian food on the 4th of July weekend! Told us again that the next weekend would serve prime rib. We'll it's that weekend and now they say they are not serving it, but they have Indian food! Huge disappointment! Jimmy ds ALWAYS had American food! I took one bite and not only was it the TOUGHEST Prime Rib I ever bit into but it came to the table cold, as well as a cold baked potato! This review is for the restaurant side of Jimmy D's, not the bar. My boyfriend and I visit the bar side of Jimmy D's on a relatively regular basis. We really enjoy the company of the regulars and the bartenders are really neat. The bar side would definitely get a five out of five stars. I took my kids out for dinner on Christmas Eve and Jimmy D's is one of the places that happen to be open, to my surprise and pleasure. I much prefer to go somewhere local if possible when we spend our money on meals out. I really don't feel like going into exquisite detail on this but I can honestly say I will not be returning to Jimmy D's for the food. Our server was disgruntled and got extremely annoyed when my seven-year-old wasn't quite sure what she wanted at the time that everyone else was ready. The food itself was okay... Nothing to write home about... As much as I love eating at locally owned restaurants rather than corporate or franchised ones, I would probably choose another restaurant on Christmas eve next year, even if that meant eating at Red Robin or Applebee's. Overall, the food is nothing special and the service was not very pleasant. I imagine this had something to do with the fact that she was working on Christmas Eve, but had she delivered better service she will also would've gotten a tip worthy of Christmas Eve rather than the standard 15%. read more

We live in Gig Harbor, but often go to Bremerton. This place is under newer management, and the food is really good. Great prime rib, even for breakfast the next day. The burgers are perfect, and they have home made soup every day. Decor is nothing fancy, and I wish they would get new booths. The ones they have are not too comfortable. We went yesterday hoping for a glimmer of change... but walked in for breakfast and after 15 minutes of sitting ignored and a 10 year old brat beating my handicapped wife 's back from booth behind us.... we finally walked out and will not be back. We go regularly for their breakfasts. The chicken fried steak is smothered with a good old fashioned sausage gravy that is wonderful by itself! And the biscuits and gravy are HUGE! Almost all of the breakfasts are big enough to share. On occasion we have stopped in for lunch and dinner and, while properly cooked, tasty and served on time, the menu is nothing outstanding. The burger is always juicy and they give you LOTS of fries. Places like this are referred to as a greasy spoon, but while a bit shabby, it is usually pretty clean and comfortable and service is good to outstanding. read more

Came here a few months ago in the wee hours of the early morning after a trip to Seattle, since it was the only place open that wasn't Sharis and we've been curious about it. It doesn't look like much, from the outside or in. But the waitress was very friendly. My friends and I aren't terribly picky. I was with 3 other friends, who said their food was decent, pretty good even. Chili cheese fries, a burger (which was average for a burger) and a veggie omelet. But I wouldn't suggest the seafood omelet. It sounds good from the description, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, and shrimp. Well it was mushy and pretty gross. The shrimp tasted old and there wasn't even any tomatoes in it. The shrimp tasted like they just put canned stuff on it, probably would've been better grilled. We were hungry, so it satisfied that. At least for my other friends. I didn't finish mine, it was too gross. I probably wouldn't come here again. I'd rather go to Sharis. read more

It looks like their menu has gotten smaller and the prices have gotten bigger. I ordered the 10 oz rib eye dinner. The waitresses seemed to be concerned about the new cook. No worries here. My dinner was perfectly cooked. A nice medium rare piece of meat, fluffy HOT baked potato, crispy salad, and their crispy roll. I have always gotten a foil wrapped water logged cold potato with Jimmy D's dinner but this time was a nice change. I'm glad they did away with the little dish of mixed veggies that seemed like they were from a frozen bag. We had a generous portion of their strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was pretty good. As aways the waitress was prompt, attentive, and friendly. I've been going to Jimmy D's for at least 20 years and those ladies have always been awesome. I've never had bad service. read more
