We were so disappointed to have had to cancel plans for a trip to Oxford last January where we were looking forward to visiting all of John Currence's restaurants. So when while on a spur of the moment five day trip this past week to visit friends at Rosemary Beach you can imagine my excitement when we passed a BBB on the way in to Rosemary from the airport! We made it for breakfast yesterday and are thrilled to report that this location does not disappoint. It lives up to all that I anticipated from John Currence's food. I ordered the Redneck Benny with the eggs poached. "Lard Have Mercy"! LOL. Over the top delicious. Perfectly poached eggs, melt in your mouth biscuit, best sausage gravy ever and a lightly smoked and remarkably tender, thick slice of country ham. The Secretary of the Interior at our house ordered the Riviera Skillet with scrambled eggs, sautéed shrimp, jumbo lump crabmeat, onions, peppers, tomatoes, kitchen sink, etc., etc., etc. It was, she declares, absolutely wonderful. The only problem with these dishes is that no one in their late 60's can or should eat all of one of these dishes. We each took half home for another breakfast, but reheating a perfectly poached egg after a day in the fridge is, well, a challenge. And did I mention the price? Unbelievably modest. Especially for a 30A eatery from a renowned chef!! My only disappointment was the Bloody Mary. Having read John Besh's Forward to the Big Bad Breakfast cookbook I had to have one of John Currence's "tomato salads". It did nothing to roll my socks up and down. But as anyone who has ever read one of my breakfast Bloody Mary reviews will tell you, I have yet to find one that touches my recipe. The Secretary of the Interior has just quit ordering Bloody Mary's at restaurants. But I quess with me, hope springs eternal that one day I'll encounter one that knocks my socks off. A lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc, however, perfectly complemented the Redneck Benny. BBB rocks the breakfast scene and if you're anywhere from Destin to Apalachicola get in yo car and drive to Inlet Beach for breakfast. Shoot, you could even drive down from Bonifay, FL or Opp, AL. I really wanted a Big Bad Breakfast "Lard Have Mercy" t-shirt. But get this. They didn't have any in any color in XXL! Geez, they're in the business of taking what yo momma and Whataburger done gave you and converting that into XXL if you're not there already! Oh. Wait. Maybe that's eggzaktly why they were out of XXLs. I can only hope that one day a BBB with show up here in Cowtown. read more

Our server was nice and that was the best part of the meal. My mimosa was weak with very little champagne and arrived after my food arrived. We both ordered a side of sausage gravy and we were like "where's the sausage??" I wanted butter for my biscuit with the jelly but we couldn't find anyone to get it so I gave up. A favorite breakfast spot, anytime we are in or near 30A, and am happy they decided to branch out to Nashville. Food never disappoints. My daughter wasn't with me this time so I had to struggle with choosing between my two faves...the BLT Omelet or Avocado Toast. Both are always spot on. With COVID, the restaurant is following 50% capacity rules. They have ample outdoor seating which allows for social distancing with a tropical vibe. Only giving four stars this trip due to extremely slow service. They had plenty staff on the floor but we sat for 10-15 minutes with no acknowledgement and another 5-10 after that to get water. Love the fact the restaurant uses yelp to allow you to join the waitlist before you arrive. Would never get to eat here with my impatient hubby otherwise. read more

Food is delicious! Biscuits and gravy, omelets, and breakfast BLT were good, Service was great both times I was there.

When we arrived they were on a wait. Monday morning and very busy. The waitstaff was very helpful and attentive. The food was great although my son didn't care for his side of French toast. They deep fry it and he isn't use to that. Every omelette dish was ordered by someone in our party. We all tasted each other's omelets and liked all versions. Their OJ is freshly squeezed which is what we're used to. Overall it was a great experience. read more

The only reason BBB gets 2 stars is because I got foood poisoning from here! Well, that and a lot of the servers chose to not where masks :( I ordered scrambled eggs with a biscuit and chicken sausage. Went on a Thursday morning. The coffee was decent but the food was fantastic. I got the breakfast wrap and my fiancé got the chicken biscuit with tomato gravy. My fiancé isn't a big sauce person but ,after the waiter insisting she tried it, she was more than happy she got it. My burrito was fresh and tasty, especially with their homemade hot sauce. We reserved a spot online after our 10 hour drive to Florida, we were starving and so tired, just wanted comfort food in a reasonable amount of time. It said 45 minute wait.... we arrived 10 minutes early I ran in to let the hostess know we were there. She said "it'll be about 30 more minutes " I said "fine" since we already were there. Well, an hour later and with many times me asking if our turn had come and we were seated. The food was just "so so" nothing worth waiting an hour and a half over, honestly IHOP is better. They were backed up in the kitchen I guess but it was a bad experience all the way around and I'd never go back. Wasted our time and money. read more

All I can say is one word-YUM! Everything was so delicious, fresh and cooked perfectly! I got the biscuit sandwich with bacon, egg over easy and cheddar cheese and a side of hashbrown cake. The biscuit there are amazing! Fluffy, buttery, and sooo good! The bacon was cooked perfectly along with my egg. I loved the hashbrown as well-reminded me of a latke. My husband had French toast and ate every bite! It came with 4 different fruit compotes that were fresh made, in-house and were delicious. Coffee was really good, too. Tasted very fresh. The service was excellent-very friendly and welcoming with a relaxed ambience. Restaurant was very clean. Highly recommended! read more

So. Freaking. Good. Go eat every biscuit they have on-hand. The riviera skillet is great (wish it had more shrimp, though), and the mother of all biscuits is intense in the best way possible. Not the best Bloody Mary I've ever had, but still decent. I 100% left with a sweatshirt. read more

Terrible. Rude. Poorly Managed. My group of four was told 45-60 minute wait. We waited and checked in with the hostess as we watched group after group get seated before us. She told us that it would be another 90 minutes because people were adding themselves to the waitlist via Yelp and she was seating them before us. First of all, she never told us that-never told us to join the waitlist and offered us a table outside with no heaters and it was 40 degrees out. All with a snotty look on her face. This is my favorite breakfast in PCB it is more than a breakfast. The menu is very well created and has options for everybody. My personal favorite is avocado toast chicken biscuits and iced coffee. You will sit by the pool and have a great service with delicious food this place must try and Panama City Beach. We've been here more than ten times, and I don't recommend coming in at noon on Sunday and expecting to get a fast table. It can be an hour wait. This place is excellent for midweek breakfast or lunch. read more

Below average food and service with insane prices for the portions/quality. Our server didn't write anything down so had to come back and take our orders again, then kept forgetting stuff. She asked us if we wanted vanilla in the coffees, fruit with the pancakes.. insinuating it came with it/was a side but everything was an up charge. The entrees came out all at different times, I think because she didn't write stuff down and kept forgetting. She brought extra hash cakes that we didn't ask for (they were also raw) and then charged for them. Overall, don't recommend this place especially because there are so many other nearby options. I know that the area in general is expensive but a 2 eggs skillet for $16 is crazy. read more

Extremely long wait times for an average breakfast experience. We joined the waitlist at 9 AM with a seating quote for 10:05 AM. We didn't get sat until 10:55 AM (almost two hour total wait). They definitely were not accommodating for our semi-large group of 6, and our waitress seemed flustered and rushed. They were out of coffee (how does a breakfast restaurant run out of coffee) and it took another hour to get our food. Don't recommend until they're back to 100% capacity or can figure out smoother operations. read more

Hubby and my littles got up "early" to enjoy a full-on breakfast while visiting Rosemary. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. Our server was really nice and while our food took a bit, it was worth waiting for. The. Best. Pancakes. Ever. Bacon was excellent, think they called it Fatback. Hubs had a chicken biscuit and gravy...also on point. And, we complemented with some cold brew. Happy all around! We will be back, when we are back. #30A And, they have join ahead waitlist! Use it. They opened one of these restaurants in Nashville so decided to try them out while Visiting Panama City Beach Online wait list was great. Clean and bright. Host was awesome. Server bright and cheery. Food was delicious Bacon was extra Krispy so if that's not your style speak up. Definitely will be making this a regular spot! read more

Upon walking to the BBB, it is visually appealing. I liked that there were a number of tables on the patio overlooking the pool. We got there kind of late on a Saturday morning and there were several tables empty. We found our way to the front and were promptly greeted but were told it would be 20 to 30 minutes for a table. As we waited, it gave us time to review the menu. Lots of interesting choices. We eventually were seated; 20 minutes; and given a seat outside. The food was good. I didn't think it was over the top. We love riding our bikes over from water sound to eat at this laid back spot. They have a great menu and service always. I enjoy the healthy options they offer, while my kiddos and husband love the richer dishes. Great coffee and drinks if you are keeping your party going. Lots of seating and waitlist moves quickly.
