I thought it was hilarious that the Japanese beer was a product of Italy served in the U.S. my husband got the Korean beer and both were good. Since my first time coming here when they were just newly opened, I came back so many times. It ended up becoming one of my go to spots when I was still living in Washington. Since moving out of state, it was one of the food places I missed. I visited recently and this was one of my must visit places since being back. I'm so glad I did because it's still as good as ever. Food is excellent. Comfortable and chill atmosphere. Perfect place to hang out and catch up with a friend. And customer service was amazing - above and beyond as usual. There was something I used to always order but it's no longer on their menu. When I asked about it, he was still happy to make it for me which made me so happy because that was one of the main things I missed most about this place. A great experience as usual. We were in the area for groceries and decided to stop by Bapmukja for a quick lunch after seeing the Eater recommendation for this place. I'm not a huge fan of the strangely green lighting in the interior since it makes it kind of difficult to see the food. At any rate, ordering was pretty fast and we got our food pretty quickly. Street Toast ($9.99) - I've never had this dish before. Definitely interesting to try, with a slice of ham, a kind of egg frittata filled with julienned veggies, and cabbage mixed in a sweet and tangy mayo dressing on toasted bread. The bottom piece of toast becomes a bit soggy very quickly - I think this dish would be better served with the sandwich resting on the crust rather than the bread face. They dip the edges of the bread into sugar, enhancing the sweetness a bit, which actually works quite well in the sandwich. It's surprisingly filling. (4/5) Rose Tteokbokki ($14.99) - The pictures make this dish look deceptively small - it's actually a large portion of rice cakes in a creamy, milky, stew-like sauce. The rice cakes are cooked perfectly, allowing a very good chewy quality that isn't too firm or too soft. They are of a larger variety than the usual rice cakes logs I've had in the past, adding to how filling this dish is. The rice cakes are topped with large crumbles of thick-cut smoky bacon, adding a salty burst to the dish. The sauce is exceptionally luxurious and thick with a light spiciness and fermented taste from gochujang. The cream tempers the spice paste down so that the spice level is more than just a tingle, but not overwhelming. Thanks to the richness of this dish, it's easily enough to feed two people just by itself. (5/5) The portions sizes served at Bapmukja are large and filling. This is a great spot for Korean street food! The staff was friendly, it was slow for a Friday night but definitely a great atmosphere. My husband and I ended up getting an order of the Rosé tteokbokki and three different types of kimbap -- bulgogi, spicy pork, and shrimp tempura. The tteokbokki pieces are HUGE and have the perfect texture. Definitely a meal you can share or have plenty for leftovers. Our favorite kimbap was the bulgogi, followed by the shrimp, and lastly the spicy pork. They give you 10 pieces per order so there's plenty to go around. This place offers some delicious Korean street food, some of which are the staples that are fairly ubiquitous like tteokbokki, kimbap, mandu, etc but some of which are not as easy to find surprisingly, like gimmari and street toast. My friend and I went here just a little before 8pm to find that we actually almost missed the main food menu that is 12-8pm, as the place opens up as a bar with nighttime offerings after that until closing. We tried the steak kimbap, spicy tuna kimbap, side platter (gimmari, mandu, shrimp tempura), and street toast. The kimbap is fairly delicious and quite filling, with the right distribution of ingredients. It would be nice to have a beef bulgogi kimbap, but the steak is still quite good. The spicy tuna is quite interesting with the spicy spice, not the spicy tuna that you would expect in sushi. The gimmari is good - fried seaweed rolls with glass noodles inside. The mandu has nice filling, and the shrimp tempura was fairly standard. I love the street toast - very large portions with egg and ham inside. I would definitely get this again if I come back. Stepping into this cute and relatively new Korean restaurant in Lynnwood was like going down my own memory lane. Their menu is a giant black chalkboard with everything written with chalk in various colors. Their wall decor includes old LP record covers of Korean singers of the 80's, one of which I recognize as Cho Yongpil. Not sure how to describe him but he was the biggest star in his time. There is also a copy of an old Korean textbook that I remember seeing when I was growing up in Korea. It was pretty cool to be immersed in my childhood memories just by standing inside this restaurant. Alas, my wife was then telling me to order! We ordered Rosé Tteokbokki, Spicy Tuna Kimbap, and Street Toast for the two of us. This is a pay first (including tip), help-your-self-to-water, and bus-your-own-table type of restaurant. The female staff who was helping us with the order spoke Korean and she greeted us with a smile and was engaged in her work. I am such a fan of that kind of positive customer service. Sometimes, it just takes a smile when interacting with your customers. She was great to us. Their street toast was great and it totally reminded me of the street toast that I had in Korea more than 30 years ago. This place takes so many of the iconic snacks you would find at Korean street food carts/stands and puts them in one restaurant. Ordered the tteokboki with cheese, street toast, kalbi kimbop, and an assortment of deep fried goods. First, if you haven't had your tteokboki with melty cheese on it, you are missing out on life. The cheese subtly offsets the spicy sauce on the rice cakes. The dish had a fair amount fish cakes and was flavored perfectly as I'd expect. The street toast was just as I'd expect from a food stand. We had three in our party and the server was kind enough to split the sandwich into four smaller pieces so we could share. It is very flavorful and filled with lettuce and perfectly crispy for the toast. I've never had kalbi rib meat in my kimbop as it is normally a veggie dish, sometimes using crab with a "k". It was delicious. Finally, one of the combo dishes includes a medley of deep fried goodies such as pot stickers (gyoza), deep fried rice roll, and deep friend tempura breaded shrimp. Solid 4 star for me but could have potential for higher. This place has been on my list when it first open but I haven't had a chance to try it yet until now. It's a pretty small place behind another Korean restaurant so it's not very visible. This place serve more street food style rather than the traditional Korean food. They have 3 main categories for food and we got one from each :) Pork belly kimbap 3.5/5 - it was kinda dry and the pork belly is not as soft or tender as I expected, I think I would want to try a different protein option next time. It went really well with the tteboki sauce though Rose tteboki with scorched cheese 5/5 - Thisbwas really good. The rice cake has a perfect chew, the cheese gave it a nice sear taste but cheesy and the sauce was balance. I wish it was a little spicier but that's just personal preference Street toast 3.5/5 - the bread could have been toasted a little longer, but it was nice and fluffy. The sandwich was filling and I love the flavor. Not as good as the ones I had elsewhere though but it was still good. Service and price 4/5 : the people here are very nice and price is pretty reasonable. The place has both hot and cold water self serve station and that was nice too. Bapmukja came to my attention originally via Instagram. I finally had the opportunity to check it out for a weekday lunch (9/1/22). I was curious about what is considered Korean street food. I ordered a combo meal with Short Rib Kimbap and Aglio e Olio Tteokbokki, plus a cold bottle of water. Servings are very generous, I ended up bringing home over half of my tteokbokki. I enjoyed the kimbap, tasty beef with carrot and radish wrapped with rice and seaweed. The kimbap comes with no accompanying dipping sauce though. I liked the garlicky rice noodle/tteokbokki, but wasn't too fond of the bacon bits and oily residue. Glancing at another group's choices, I wished I tried the daily special of spicy noodles with pork belly instead. Glad I stopped by, but probably will stick with my usual faves in Edmonds, North Lynnwood, South Everett along Highway 99. read more

I was originally deciding between the original toast or the steak toast and truth be told, the thing that was missing was the steak. I should've got the steak toast! It would've been perfect! I mean it was still good without it, but it would've been more amazing with it. I was extremely impressed. I got the toast with a low bar and dang, it definitely went beyond my expectations. Will go back for the steak toast for sure. I was lucky enough to try my friend's kimbap and it was alright. Nothing too impressive, but nothing to hate. I enjoyed it for what it was. Fantastic Korean street food along Highway 99 in Lynnwood! They have a wide variety of items to satisfy any craving. Street toast was delicious, a nice medley of ham, egg, cheese, and veggies, tied together with a creamy tangy sauce. You must eat that fresh in the restaurant to get the crisp toast texture. Check them out on insta! I heard this was a hot & new spot I should check out, so I did. The pictures of the rosé tteokbokki is what drew me in. It looked like large gnocci like cheesy pasta but the official definition is "a Korean food made from small-sized garae-tteok called tteokbokki-tteok" or rice cakes. I'd never tried rice cakes either so here we go. From what I gathered on the menu, the rosé is less spicy than the original. It was a cheesy, spicy creamy sauce that the rice cakes were generously coated in and to my surprise there is perfect bacon pieces in it! At first I though it had a fishy taste, my husband thought they were thin pork belly slices, so I guess he won because I looked back at the ingredients and it is in fact bacon. Those unique flavors really make this dish and I couldnt get enough, it is phenomenal. If you are a fan of creamy dishes, you will want to branch out and try tteokbokki. The tteokbokki sauce was the highlight of the dish but the rice cake itself was too chewy in my opinion. The short rib kimbap was personally hard to eat because it was so big and it would fall apart if I try to bite it. The seaweed wasn't crispy and didn't tear apart easily. Maybe we came at an odd time at 3pm so it wasn't the most fresh. I would've liked it if the size were smaller but kept the same proportions. I'll come back to try the sandwiches but it didn't appeal to me too much. The owners were nice and the service was quick. I like the idea they were going for but it was lacking in taste. The rating is based on the food only. You get a better value getting the kimbap at Hmart instead and I'd say it tastes just as good. I do like to go out of my way to support local new restaurants. I've been following them through social media and was excited for them to finally open! I tried the following: Short rib kimbap Original tteokbokki Street sandwich All of them were really tasty, I really enjoyed the tteokbokki, the sauce was delicious! To me, it sweet and spicy was very well balanced and the thickness of the sauce was just right! I've had tteokbokki from other places and sometimes the sauce is a bit thin/watery or just a bit too thick. I also thought the tteokbokki also was cooked well and had the right amount chewiness. Personally, I don't like tteokbokki when it's too soft or too hard. Looking forward to trying the other types of kimbap, tteokbooki and bibmguksu whenever I'm that neck of the woods! read more

Delicious lunch spot, we had bulgogi kimbap and Korean street tacos. Kimbap was fresh and delicious and street tacos were yummy too, spicy but not too spicy. Great background music too! Food was prepared faster than expected. Clean and comfortable seating area. read more
