This is coming out of the way quirky little hangout. I think a lot of bikers hang out here. This is my second visit. It's a nice stop on the way from Tampa to Ocala. It's not too far off the highway. A lot of of the tables haven't watered you and you can walk out on the dock. The food is OK. Sometimes it's hit or miss. I mean, basically it is bar food. Visiting friends for Tday week and they took me out to eat. Small town little bar/pub and not too busy maybe due to so close to Tday. Greeted when we walked in but keep in mind my friends go here often and know everyone so they are regulars. We ordered the Grouper sandwich and 2 burgers. Food looked and tasted great and didn't take long at all since it wasn't busy. My burger was great, cooked perfect and season good. Bum was fresh and all the toppings were fresh. If you like a good burger you gotta try Big Bass. Plenty of parking and inside has tables and bar seating. We sat at the bar... Place has a couple old cool looking motorcycles on display. Absolutely the worst service we have ever had in Florida! The waitress blamed the new cooks for our food being prepared wrong then actually admitted it was her fault for not writing our order down. She brought all our food out cold so they meant the order was done for a long time then when we asked for our check we waited 20 minutes and had to get another server to get it. The burgers were well done on the edges and raw in the middle. The bucket of beer for $12.00 and the atmosphere were the only bright points. read more

After a day of shopping at Webster Flea Market it was time for food and a beer. Local area had really nothing to offer we headed to Yelp. Our gig is always those places off the mainstream, beer and water front and added plus! Our venture took us to Big Bass Grill. We we arrived we knew it was love at first sight. This place enormous and sits on a lake. We opted for inside sitting bellied up to the bar. We were greeted by CiCi and ordered our beverages. Studied the menu and both decided on a fried Grouper Sandwich. I upped my side to homemade beer battered onion rings. Believe me when I say they were delicious. The sandwich had a large piece of perfectly battered Grouper served with lettuce onion pickle and yummy tartar sauce. CiCi was efficient and handled the bar and restaurant alone like a pro all while fielding phone in to go orders. If I am ever in the area I will return. read more

Fun place! Music bingo was a blast. Service was quick and friendly! Food was very good.

First of all, Jasmin was a wonderful server, however the food was terrible. $15.99 for 2 deep fried pieces of some kind of fish (we were first told it was catfish and later told haddock. The fish breading was soggy as if microwaved (after it had been deep fried), I suspect was reheated old fish. The French fries were cold coming directly out from the grill, and Cole slaw was not fresh and pasty. We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed ourselves...not so much tonight. I did inform Jasmin our server and she said maybe the next time we should order our fish extra crispy. We drove 2 hours round trip for what we deem as our special place...sadly, not so special tonight. read more

Big Bass Grill is off the beaten track, which I love. It is on a marina and has plenty of outside seating with lights. There is an outside bar and looks like it's a favorite for motorcyclists. On this very hot afternoon we opted for the inside dining area where the tables were covered with checkered tablecloths. There are a few beautiful motorcycles inside too. Skylar was our waitress and she brought us ice teas and helped us with the menus. Dave got fried catfish which was outstanding and onion rings and coleslaw. I got the grilled grouper sandwich that came on a fresh bun along with with lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. It was moist, flaky and delicious. My sides were grits with cheese and coleslaw. So if you are ever near lake Panasoffkee, stop in and enjoy the woodsy ambience and delicious food. read more

My wife and I were looking for something outside of the Villages in central Florida and found it on Yelp . We found the parking lot quite full, but found a spot and went inside to determine if there was a wait or not. The three or four servers were running around taking orders and delivering plates of food and one other them told us to find. Table where ever. There was a lot of outside seat, but because it was only 51 outside, we chose of of the two inside tables to sit at. It was only a short wait for our server to approach us and asked if we wanted a beverage. My wife asked for options and the waitress brought over a listing of the many items, and a menu to peruse. She quickly returned and answered our food questions and we placed our orders for both food and beverages. It didn't take long to get our food cooked to order and delivered to our table by Angel. My grouper sandwich was lightly blackened and served with lettuce tomato and onion on a sesame seed bun along with lightly breaded twisty fries. My wife's fish fry was beer battered catfish with the same type of fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw had fairly large peppercorns mixed in and Angel stated that the new soups cook erred in chopping the spice, but other than that, it was good. Service was well spaced nd my soda was topped off even before I asked for a free refill. This was a sleeper diner and guy Fieri should try this for a triple D episode. read more

Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The grouper sandwich was delicious, though a small piece of fish on a large bun. The fries were interesting, in a good way. I've never seen larger fries cut and curled in the way they do it. We sat outside. There's nothing special about the place, but it's comfortable and on the water. The inside of the restaurant is small with 4 motorcycles inside. They have inside and outside bar areas. And they had a guy playing a guitar and singing outside yesterday (Sunday) starting at 1pm. Would I return? Unsure. I think I would try to find other unique places on the water before returning here. But not bad. $48 for 2 fish sandwiches and 3 non-alcoholic drinks. read more

This place has really gone downhill. I ordered the grouper dinner. First of all it was very pricey at $26. Was not cooked all the way through. Sent it back. Brought it back out a few minutes later still not thoroughly cooked. My husband ordered the catfish. The taste was good, although it wasn't cooked enough. This was not our regular stop. It is on the lake where there are boat slips, campsites etc. there is a large outdoor area. Today a band was playing Tom Petty music. We ate inside. Great onion rings and Fried green tomatoes. Our cocktail were $6 an$8. Four of us enjoyed catfish filet,grouper nuggets, gator. Coleslaw , grits, hush puppies also are good. A love-hate experience this time. Wife loved her grouper basket with those special cut fries. Came out fresh and hot and I envied her. Mine on the other hand the Spaghetti special tasted like a jar of Ragu over watery flat noddle. If there was meat in the meat sauce I never saw it. Left 3/4 of it on the plate. Kitchen service horrible. Waitress was new and was trying but they were not helping her. Food sat in window for 15 min and served cold. We were first in in group and last served over 2 hours later. Bar lady (management) did not help at all. Our large group (they knew we were coming book med way ahead of time) was all upset. They served bar couple within 15 min. It took us 3 hours waiting and too eat. Grouper fingers cut in small nuggets with a lot of breading. Management definitely did not care that we were all frustrated. Food was cold when finally served. This place really sucks. Very run down, no lights where they seated us when it started getting dark. Everybodies food was cold. Asked for a manager and there wasnt even one there. The marijuana plant centerpiece on every table tells you what to expect. Dirty, and food was high priced and not good.

Hidden gem on the lake! Lots of outdoor seating, covered and open sky. Inside is nice too, it's bigger than it looks with an indoor and outdoor bar. Very biker friendly. Our waitress was attentive.
