We received a Groupon for this, and yet even with the discounted price, we didn't really feel it was worth the cost. Had we actually paid $38 retail price for this, I would have been extremely disappointed. Their website had technical issues when trying to redeem our purchase. When we finally got through, the "app" was really just a link to an online survey site that asked you questions and you filled in the answers. It was really this low-tech website that made us feel as if it was a cheap experience. As for the questions themselves, some of them were interesting at best and some of them were very easy. This might make it nice for a family with young children, but for a group of adults, we didn't find it challenging enough. I did, however, enjoy some of the corny jokes and random facts. There was also some obvious advertising in it, which, again, made it feel like a cheap experience. Overall, I'd say if you're willing to pay the money, it makes for an interesting stroll through Big Bear. Otherwise, it's not a "must do" experience. As I mentioned before, this was not our first scavenger hunt experience, and if I were to rank all the scavenger hunts we have done, this would probably rank the lowest.

I've been trying to do more local things just to get more acquainted with the IE. I sent out an email to uplandwalkingtours@gmail.com to get more info and Ann (she's the guide) responded very promptly. All I had to do was show up at the steps of the Cooper Museum by 10 am on the day of the tour (which is usually the 2nd Saturday of every month). The day of the tour I arrived 20 minutes beforehand because I was worried about parking, but there was no need to worry, there is plenty of parking there. There is street parking and a lot next to the Museum. You can also bike (it is near the Electric Trail), or take the Metrolink (the station is across the street from the Museum). Getting there is very convenient. The weather was slightly overcast, so it was a perfect day. We walked for about a mile making stops at various locations to get historical information and for some minor reenactments that we all got to participate in. What I loved the most was learning about all of the people. Ann had put together some quotes with a picture of a person. We each picked one out and read them aloud. It really brought the history to life. The stops included a very beautiful Victorian house, the Carnegie Library, a historical fire department building, a bakery (where there is time to grab a snack), and various other locations. I enjoyed all of the gardens and architecture I saw while walking. Ann pointed out a beautiful stained glass window in an empty location that just screams for restoration. After the tour I enjoyed walking around the Cooper Museum. It's small, but has a lot of good exhibits. They had a comic book superhero one that was pretty awesome. I'm definitely going back again and explore some more.

Ann Lara has done a lot of historical research to put this on, she is amazing. The tour lasted about 2 hours and I was intrigued the whole way. I would love to go on the tour again. Loved it and would highly recommend this tour.

And, we all got educated about the hauntings around Temecula too! Dale knows his stuff about both! I didn't take any pictures because Dale made sure to take care of picture taking in front of the key haunted spots around town: The Merc, Emigration Office, The Bridge, The Jail, and Palomar Hotel. And oh my gosh, Dale had sound, pictures and stories of sightings in these areas. He does his research. As they say in Hawaii, we all got chicken skin! Dale's tour is a winner for sure!

It exceeded my expectations. I was slightly iffy because it was a great price (too good to be true kind of price) and you pay when you show up, I thought for sure I was going to get jumped or scammed but we showed up to location and had a wonderful time. The tour guide was amazing in his knowledge and didn't capitalize on "ghost" just for the sake of it or embellish to make things over the top. Nothing was cheesy in his stories, which made them more creepy and he really knew the history of Temecula which was an added bonus The group size was good and everyone seemed to be enjoying it and it was family friendly (my Teen LOVED it and teens are hard to please) I will be taking tour again (and checking out the vail Ranch tour as well) and bringing more friends along. I highly recommend
