We were unable to re-create the problem, so I had to pay $100 with no progress whatsoever. This is not 100% his fault but the way he tried to gaslight me and upsell me on unnecessary things with insane prices make this a strong 1-star review. What was infuriating is the way that he attempted to gaslight me, an adult middle-aged woman, that is handy and runs a manufacturing business. So not a dummy. I had my kitchen flooded twice due to a leak emanating from the faucet connection, and very closely observed the flow of water both times. I told him where to inspect and he would not do it. He told me to my face that he did not believe me regarding where I saw water dripping, nor the fact that it flooded my kitchen. (WTH?) Instead he identified a totally different appliance and insisted - with no direct observation whatsover - that it must be coming from there. This is what he wrote up on the receipt. This is impossible due to the law of gravity and... science. I don't know why on earth he would not believe what I directly observed or why he would refute that to my face. Still had to fork over $100 though. I described sounds I heard coming from the instahot when I cut off the water and described my assessment that the water started boiling in the tank when I cut off the water. He would not listen to that explanation and insisted they don't have a tank and that it was broken and I needed him to hire him to replace it. Turns out I was exactly right, and it was written right on the device. Lastly when I insisted it must be the faucet area, he quoted me $300 to install a new one. This seems insanely high, and it's a VERY basic plumbing task. The fact that he feigned ignorance about BASIC plumbing, gaslit me repeatedlly to my face and tried to trick me into more expensive unnecessary plumbing work make this a HARD HARD PASS! Pay mind to all the horrible reviews on here. In my experience he was not "surely a great guy despite the bad experience". He was disrespectful and tried to trick me out of my money. read more

This is a tough one...while Eric is a great guy, I question his prices and knowledge. DO NOT RECOMMEND! I called him out for a shower faucet that wouldn't regulate temps, a leaky outside spigot and a slow flushing toilet. Toilet was an easy fix...Granted he has nothing with him and has to drive out to get supplies, charging for time of course. First was the spigot. He told me right off it was busted and he'd have to cut through the walls inside the house to replace the spigot and get to the pipes??? WHAT!? The spigot was clearly able to be removed from the outside, and I told him it had the flex pipe inside that pulls out. My word was doubted, he said he'd check it out. Shockingly it was an easy replace, screwed off and had the flex pipe. Again, he had to drive off to get the parts. Next up was the shower faucet. He got the external parts off and pulled out the cartridge. We have Koler faucets and he is not familiar with them at all. The cartridge came out in pieces, well he pulled it out like that. He drive off to his supply place, the only place that carries Koler (per him)...and came back telling me they were out of stock and it would be three weeks. He proceeded to put my cartridge back in as he had to to turn the water back on. Well, apparently the cartridge wasn't supposed to be in pieces and the water shot out the faucet. He told me I'd have to replace the whole faucet, $1000 or leave the water off for 3 weeks. FORTUNATELY he had a cancellation and had time to rip it all out to replace. AND leave me with an unusable shower with at least 4 missing tiles. My hubby was griping at work about this & one of his docs mentioned other supply places. He called me on the nick of time before he started Demolition. Lo and behold the other place had the part, and he still up-charged to go get the part. Shame on him for not attempting or even being familiar with other supply shops. The trail of dirt who left through the entire house was pretty epic also. Didn't wipe his feet or brush off his jeans at all. If you want to be overcharged, by all means give him a call. If you want to be left a a lurch, by all means give him a call. I had the same experience as some of the other folks on here (Paige, Denise M, Duke). Eric is a super nice guy and he has good reviews overall, but I think his bread and butter is quick easy fixes (swap out a fixture, unclog a toilet, tighten up a leaky pipe), so if that's what you need he's your guy. Anything that requires a lot of work or expertise he's going to jack up the price (to make it worth his while) or tell you he can't do it. When you question his prices he goes on and on about how he has to pay taxes, the time it takes to drive to the store, all of the parts he has to buy, gas for his truck, soldering, the time to cut things, etc, etc. At the end of the day, my biggest gripe was that he came to my house, looked at something for 5 minutes, said he couldn't do it, told me I'd need to call someone else, and he charged me $150 for the "inspection". read more

My property is older and I'm still not familiar with its quirks. A totally clogged sink on a Saturday isn't ideal. I jumped on Yelp trying to find a company in my neighborhood hoping it would make the call a little cheaper. This was the first company to answer my call. I would still have to wait about four hours as he was already pretty busy for a Saturday. He did give me a 20 minute heads up call that he was in his way - pretty darn close to his estimate time. He came in and started right away. Thankfully after waiting a while the totally full sink had slowly drained, so when he took the pipes apart I didn't have a ton of water for him to have to control. I was afraid it was the garbage disposal, and I hate them. Just plain terrified of them. Nope it was good, it was the elbow after the disposal. After he cleared it all and put it back together he double checked the dishwasher to make sure it wasn't backing up. Total time - 40 minutes, $90. Not bad for Saturday service. read more

Eric came out urgently this summer to restore our water supply after it was shut off due to broken irrigation valves with flooding... he accurately diagnosed and repaired multiple problems that involved replacing broken valves, pipes, and rebuilding and updating the existing (installed incorrectly and out of code) sprinkler manifolds, all in difficult conditions both per digging depth and outside temperatures. He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and persisted to discover and repair multiple leaks beyond what we first knew to be broken... He came yesterday this winter for a second time to install pressure regulator valve, water main cutoff, and water hammer suppressor under the house in crawlspace, again difficult conditions but he added value to the job by adding components to the install beyond what I knew to ask for but were indicated. PLEASE READ. I never write reviews, but DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER. After spending many frustrating hours digging up my main sprinkler valve that was leaking, I called to have a plumber show up and change the valve. I requested a phone call to let me know he was on his way, which I did not receive. He showed up in an unmarked truck, got out, looked at my hole then requested a bucket of water and a steel brush to clean the valve off, which had rust build up from the years of leaking. It's not the customers responsibility to provide the tools for a job in which you hire someone to do for you. I asked about the valve replacement that I wanted and he said he couldn't do that today, but it would cost $1000. This is WAY OVER what I was even quoted by other plumbing companies around town. He jumped down the hole and used the rag that, I had to provide, because he doesn't have any, and tightened the nut on the top of the valve, which stopped the leak. HE WAS AT MY HOUSE FOR A TOTAL OF 7 MINUTES AND THEN TOLD ME, HE'S DONE AND THAT THE CHARGE WAS $85!!!!!!!!! I could of tightened up the top nut my self!!!!!! And that's not even what I wanted done! He IMMEDIATELY changed his price from $1000 to $500 to change the valve,after me telling him I wasn't happy with his service and he was double the price of anyone else. He tried to write me an invoice on the same generic type of legal pad you can get at Office Depot, then said this service was complimentary after my complaints. He left, circled the block, then came back and told me my valve was fine and all I need to do was buy a different valve handle (mine was broke). BOTTOM LINE, DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER! He sounds good on the phone, but HE WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF AND WHO KNOWS IF HE IS EVEN LICENSED, BONDED AND INSURED. read more

I always give credit to business owners who attempt to rectify estimated or completed work that was not satisfactory. Eric attempted to rectify my complaint about his hostile attitude and snappish behavior when he came to my house to give us an estimate on work that needed to be completed. However, by his own words regarding my first complaint, he has demonstrated he is absolutely oblivious as to how he treated us because he thought my review about him was about someone else's complaint about him!!! Eric did not refuse to do service for us, he refused to treat us with respect, dignity, and kindness. Which is exactly why we did not hire him to do the work. The work one does always goes hand in hand with the treatment a business person gives to customers. As a teacher to future business leaders, I tell my students who will be owners/managers, to always ASK the customer, "How can I fix the problem or make you happy?" In addition with an apology...a justification for behavior is NOT an apology. There are always limitations for rectifications, but more often than not when the customer feels as though their feelings are important and considered, that customer will actually become a loyal customer for life. This personal experience will be one I will share with my current and future students. The fact that someone who is giving an estimate to a possible new customer is literally clueless as to how they treat you and thinks it ANOTHER customer they have mistreated says a lot about their level or lack thereof of customer service...A LOT. read more
