This is the second time I have used Big Bear Vacations AND I have been impressed from the staff to the home. Pictures of the cabins are beautiful, but OMG when you actually see the home, those pictures just don't cut it. Breathtaking views, beautiful, quiet peaceful. I love visiting here, and definitely a must to come back, and my little ones love it here as well. Staff is so friendly and courteous, always helpful anytime. Big Bear Vacations' business practices are as dirty as the houses they rent. I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before renting with this company. The house we rented with this company was soooo DIRTY! I would have never rented a home in this condition. Clearly they allow pets because the carpet was nasty dirty with what appeared to be pet stains from an ill dog on the floor, sofa, and master bed. The pictures on display were not accurate at all. There were no stains on the carpet in the pictures they have displayed on the website, and the fact that they have a television displayed in all of the non-master bedrooms and "satellite/cable" under the entertainment section insinuates that the televisions actually work. I thought I was watching a loop of Poltergeist because they were COMPLETE static - no cable hook up at all - just two sad and lonely Xbox controllers dangling from the tv stand with no Xbox. After complaining to Destiny, she did refund the $200 cleaning fee (clearly they didn't use that money to clean their rentals) and $60 per night off of the $250/night stay in the overpriced yuck house. She then told me that the refund was "more than a fair refund by market standards. There will be no further compensation approved." Really? Good to know we ONLY paid $200 a night for your rental. Four months later I decided to respond to the online VRBO request to review my stay, so I did. Within two hours, I received a notification of from VRBO that Big Bear Vacations had rated me as a renter with a NEGATIVE review, stating that we were dirty, lol. So, we got a revenge review from these people! Pretty darn low, BBV! BBV, not only are your homes dirty, so is your company. Renters BEWARE! read more

I received a call back Friday Sept 29, it went to voicemail. They apologized for the delay due to the housekeeping manager was out of the office. Upon her return, she was unable to find photos of trash and dishes from my stay and will refund me the charges. However, this is quoted from my voicemail "with no photo, I have no evidence even though they are fairly confident, its my gesture to you as a guest". So not a real apology, but I'll take the refund, thanks. I repeat some advice as a consumer: List in the rental agreement that extra charges can take x amount of time to process. Please update procedure so the staff can have access to all photos when excess charges are made so it doesn't fall on waiting for one person to return to the office. And if you don't have photos within 24 business hours of processing charges, don't make excuses and just send the refund. read more

Louie was the manager who checked us in, and he even called us on our way up to help us navigate our way when one of the major roads was suddenly closed. I don't have much to say except "wow!" Well, my family booked with the company before but I don't remember our experience being so great in the past it was okay but nothing special. This time around it was just beyond excellent. The cabin itself was so lovely! It was just spotless clean and had everything that we could ask for. The check out was easy and fast. Great communication about the rules and recommendations. We had all the information we needed. We also booked kayaking on the lake and received 50% o0ff discount because we stayed with big bear vacation. Great experience overall! I sent an email with my complaints directly to the manager on 8/7/17 and have not received a response from anyone. Not surprised! Definitely the first and last time we ever use BBV! Oh, and if they decide that we were 'dirty guests', I have photos with dates and times on them to show and prove that we left that place clean! Now, a glimpse of the complaint that was submitted: Issues with locks on both doors. We noticed an odor coming from inside the cabin. Like a mold odor. It was extremely hot and humid with an unpleasant smell. It was not clean. The windows from the inside had spider webs! The dinner table was very sticky. The stove top had no burners and it was dirty with what seemed like crumbs of some sort. There were eight patio chairs and only four of them had cushions. The bathtub had some mildew on it... Refrigerator and freezer were not working even after maintenance came several times to 'fix it'. The refrigerator had an ice tray with no ice in it. There were individual ice trays that were also dirty and empty. The freezer had some exposed corroded metal framing that was also broken. Wi-fi was not working. The sofa beds were extremely uncomfortable and the mattress pads had torn covers on them that were also very dirty with very noticeable dirt/dust/bed bugs on them. ALL beds were extremely uncomfortable and you could feel every single spring on every part of your body. The covers/linen smelled as well as the pillows. I called for maintenance again because the stove was not working. We had to ask our neighbors for a lighter in hopes that that would work. It did not. It would only cause a torch light flame. I went to turn on the Bar-B-Q grill and that was not working either. I checked inside the charcoal grill and there was no charcoal. From my understanding when I spoke with the office staff when I first booked the cabin, I was told that everything is provided to us. I called about one week later and asked about pots, pans, plates, and even asked about taking our own supplies (propane tank and charcoal) for the bar-b-q grills and again, I was told that everything is provided to us and that the only items we needed to take was our toiletries to shower and clothes. That's it. That's all. Well, clearly that was not the case. We had to go to the store and buy additional trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, air freshener, hand soap, and other necessities that were needed as well. The resolution from BBV was to put all our groceries in the kitchen sink and a cooler with ice...well, guess what happened when the ice melted in a hot house? Not only did we have to go through all these ongoing issues but we were left to clean a bigger mess. . We had to purchase additional trash bags to throw away all our food. Our money was wasted on a cabin that was not adequately maintained for any guests, on food that had to be thrown away including what was purchased at a restaurant, on car rentals and gas to travel to our destination. This does not include the time that was spent to buy groceries and the additional time that was taken out of our vacation to buy the additional necessities that were needed because they weren't provided. And it goes on and on and on... The staff at the front desk at BBV were all courteous and very friendly but I can not give it more than 1 star because YOU (BBV) represent this cabin. You are responsible for representing this cabin as 'a great vacation rental'. Even the staff stated the "The Tree Top is my favorite out of all of them!". Every single member at BBV made that statement. Now cosmetically it looks great but what good does that do anyone when nothing works?! This was a vacation of many firsts for all of us; never been to Big Bear or a cabin. This was definitely not a great first experience for any of us! Definitely not ever recommending BBV to anyone and I highly suggest that everyone read these reviews before signing any contract. My biggest mistake was trusting BBV. read more

I had my 3rd stay with BBV and it was incredible. Staff is always amazing, Diane was able to help me throughout the reservation process and was always prompt to answer my questions. 1. Disgusting and falling apart. Filthy, stained, damp carpeting. Bugs everywhere, included the mattresses. There are holes in the wall. EVERYTHING is broken but some important broken items include: neither the door to the outside nor the door to the bathroom would close. And the refrigerator froze everything solid. All of our food was ruined. And that's with the temperature being turned way down. There was one bowl, the mugs were stained and chipped, there were no knives. I could go on and on and on. It looked like the kind of place that the police find the killer in the woods squatting at the end of a horror movie. 2. The response. We actually spoke in person to Courtney, the property manager, who seemed to take our situation seriously. She said that she herself went into our place before we checked in to clean it more. In other words, she seemed to get it. So imagine my surprise when I went asked about at least a partial refund. The person at the desk, Benny, was smirking the whole time, rolling his eyes, did not take me seriously at all. He said I would get a call within a day. Surprise: I have heard nothing. BBV demonstrably neglected to honor their end of the contract in many ways (just one - they did not provide us with a functioning kitchen as stipulated in the contract) and yet they took our money and ghosted us. They are criminals. I am filing with the BBB and disputing the charge with my bank. Trust these one-star reviews, people. This properties are disgusting pits run by crooks. read more

This place was great to go with. The staff was unbelievably nice. We needed a late arrival and they were cool about making sure someone would be there to get us our keys. We unfortunately had a issue with the rental and the staff bent over backwards to find us an equivalent place at a fair price. They are so cool and the staff is the reason I would go back. Thanks so much for being great to carol Julie Diane and Tiffany. The only jerk there was Daniel. He was rude and did not seem to get that it's about customer service. He couldn't be bothered to help us and was rude in addition to that attitude. Maybe they should have a service industry review class for him because he's a lemon. read more

This place was a nightmare. $600 for 2 days. The company did not turn on our WiFi. Even though that was our selling point as mentioned on their website. They said they would. Never did. Claimed they came by the house to turn it on. We were waiting outside the 3rd request for them. They never came. Worker reported 3 attempts to come by. Did not enter the house because a worker at the office inputted info incorrectly after we told him it was okay to enter the house if we were not there. It seems that this company hires liars and unqualified people. A vacation is about the customer relaxing. Pretty simple customer service. Not rocket science. I'm weary of a company who can't event turn the WiFi on. If you have kids and need to enjoy whatever activities you have for them that involves internet, start looking somewhere else first. Don't pay a company who neglects customers with something as simple as wifi. There were some other things that were irritating but what's the point of putting them on here, it's not like they're going to get resolved. We paid for a rental house that was advertised across from the lake, rather "steps away" from the lake. In reality you actually have to walk about 15 minutes down the street in order to get to the lake. And it's not even facing the lake. Nor is it across the street from the lake. Basically you can't see a lake from the house. And fun fact, the house was advertised for Boulder Bay. Which if you look on a map is a 2 mile driving distance. The bay that we had to walk 15 minutes to get to isn't even suitable for kids. It's basically a look out point. So once again, lies and false advertising. BTW, the back and forth with the wifi started when we first arrived at 5pm and continued up until 11pm, at which point I physically drove to their office to get help. Although the lady at the front desk was nice, she was useless to help fix our inconveniences. read more

I just wanted to give you a little feedback.  First of all the cabin was so cute and comfortable!  The jacuzzi was amazingly clean and perfect!! Now- we arrived an hour early. Mind you we already paid the $367.44 a month ago. The young lady was less then pleasant, actually pretty rude! We were all so happy and ready to get our room when she said it will cost $25.00 extra to check in early. (One hour!) I said oh no we can wait an hour. We'll be back. I asked so which cabin is it we wanted to see where it was located. She said oh no we can't tell you that!  (WTH) I said why, we can't get in what does it matter. She said company policy. We were pretty shocked at her tone and attitude. What a bummer !   We came back an hour later. She was gone we got our info and checked in to the cabin.   We got into the spa that night and used four of the towels so they were pretty wet by the next day. We all wanted to shower. We had plenty for that but not the next day so I called I believe I got the same young lady from day one! I asked if we could get coffee there were filters but no coffee. She said no they don't provide that. I said oh ok well could we please get more shampoo and conditioner there was only ONE of each we are four (with long hair) she said again no they don't provide that.  I said oh wow. Ok how about wash cloths we only have one ? She said well don't you have enough towels. I said yes bath towels we do but we used four for the spa last night and four this morning if we could exchange the wet ones for some dry ones that will be great  and three more wash cloths please. She said we don't normally do that but I will have some one bring you the towels. I said thank you. ((I was polite I hope you have recorded lines I called around 10 am the next morning of our stay)). The lady came and brought us 4 face towels. ?  No wash cloths no bath towels and said they were out of them.  My sister was the one answered the door. She then left for a moment and brought us four wash cloths.   Then we cleaned, swept, organized locked up and took our trash to the dump 5 minutes away (super inconvenience in a car packed full) so we wouldn't be charged another 25$  So I guess my biggest complaint is (besides the Kurt attitude) why are you charging us $115 clean up fee when all you have left to do is sheets?  We live in Barstow and have never in 25 years living here stayed with you folks. We will not recommend or use this business again.  Very sad to have such amazing beautiful cabin  then ruin it all by lack of caring and not providing such little basic convinent necessities (wash cloths , shampoo and coffee) BUT still charge almost $400 dollars for just two nights!  Yikes. BEWARE! Looking for a rental company to manage a cabin I am looking to buy, so I rented from them to see how they treat their clients. My family was treated nice when I walked in, not so great when a problem arised. It went down hill from there. Hot tub was broken, on our second night a gentleman arrived unannounced to fix it, he said it had been broken for two weeks!! He had ordered the part and there to fix it. He and his helper walked in and out in the snow, having to let the cold on for over three hours!!! read more

I stayed here May 19-21, 2017 we were in cabin #122. We booked this particular cabin because it looked extremely spacious and was in front of the lake. The view is just about the only reason why they got one stars. When we walked in the cabin smelled like urine and there was dog hair everywhere! There were also a ton of spider webs. The place was extremely dirty and disgusting. The pictures were deceiving, this place is TINY! To top it all off the jacuzzi provided did not work and it was dirty, we cleaned it out ourselves because the kids wanted to use it so bad. Also the refrigerator did not work and we had to call maintenance to get it fixed. They told us because we put to much stuff in it which was not true because it was broken when we got here. Trying to escape the heat and madness in LA, until these shut downs are stopped. Lots of people from LA in Big Bear every weekend, but you'd never know it when you stay at this ranch. Super quiet and pastoral. This was the ONLY vacation rental that offered overnight Horse facilities. Like most equestrians, we were more concerned about where our horses would stay, than where we would stay. The horse facilities were great! Big pastures, two big round pens and probably 20 available stalls. Plus, you can ride right out their back gate, into the mountains. Like I said, the house wasn't that important to us. We were just glad we didn't have to camp! House is dated, but has all of the conveniences like dishwasher, gas stove, washer/dryer and a new Master Bath with great big shower! It's a 4 bed, 2 bath, but it can easily sleep 10 people. Nice and airy with the windows open. We were here in August, during a heat wave in LA and it was only 70 to 77 degrees in Big Bear! Like the back deck too. Could sit outside and have drinks while watching the sun set behind the mountains. Close to town, so we went dancing at Wyatt's. GREAT WEEKEND OVER ALL!!!! It's a gorgeous property and could probably make a lot of money if marketed properly! read more

Rental agency was very good but this review is primarily for Pines and N eedles 1454 which we rented. Rented 2 nights in Dec2019 after a snow storm. Decent place that would benefit from some TLC. Pros: nice common area in liv room, wood burn FP, hot tub that works Cons: very minimal items supplied - one single trash bag with requirement to clean and drive trash a mile away, no shampoo, soap, conditioner, no coffee filters, kitchen equip is very old, incredibly cheap and rarely works (bring EVERYTHING you need for any cooking), small water heater that can't supply enough hot water for 7 people (or 4 people) to shower in an hour. Game room really worthless - in unheated garage but dart board has no darts, air hockey doesn't work, ping pong table top is micro table with cracks, pool table is micro table that is not level and doesn't work. It's a decent place - good location, 5 mins to Snow Summit and 5 mins to Village. Quiet area. If owner would spend about $200 they could make place really quite decent. read more

I recently rented a cabin from Big Bear Vacations and it was a disgusting disappointment. The interior was filthy and poorly maintained. We were so appalled that we left early. We were refunded for the night we didn't stay after several calls and e-mails, but not compensated in any way for the discomfort and inconvenience of a ruined vacation. This company does not maintain their properties whatsoever. Check out the pics! Dirty bandaid on the master bed nightstand with ripped/torn master comforter with stuffing coming out right at the head of the bed, filthy carpets with urine and other stains throughout the cabin, a trashed game room with tape for pool cues, cobwebs and layers of dust, leaking shower that's about to cave in the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom, illegal outlets near sinks with no face covering- shocking! Do. Not. Recommend. Annnd it wasn't cheap! We paid over $400/night for this trash. Did I mention I don't recommend? read more

When we arrived we were instantly greeted and quickly checked in by a kind and thoughtful young man. We booked to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary and love the Big Bear area. The cabin was much nicer than we could have expected with ample room not to mention the beautiful lake views from almost every room. Super close to all the restaurants and shopping. In 2017 my family got together for Christmas and stayed at a cabin in Crestline through AirBNB, nice, but small and too far from the ski areas. This year we decided to book through Big Bear Vacations. We were within walking distance of the Snow Summit ski area and 15 minutes from Bear Mountain. The cabin was approximately 2000 sq. ft. with plenty of room for 10 people to move around without crowding one another. Two living rooms, both with fireplaces, one was a combined game room with a pool table and multi-function game table, big screen TV and stereo system. One of the unique layouts of this cabin was a bar in the big living room with a pass through to the kitchen which was open on the other side to the other living room so that no-one was left out of any activity. Two bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. There was also a nice deck on the front of the cabin and a patio deck on the backside of the cabin with a BBQ and a hot tub right next to the deck. Plenty of parking for about 4 vehicles. I only gave the cabin 4 stars because of a few issues which needed to be addressed. The heater thermostat for the entire place is downstairs near the front door so in an effort to keep the temperature where you want it, the upstairs becomes extremely hot when it comes time to sleep. The mattresses in the bedrooms are used up, lumpy and really need to be replaced but we managed. The oven is old and the door did not close all the way and made it difficult to cook and regulate the temperature, but again we managed. Covid 19 restrictions put on by the city council limited us to 8 people and 2 cars which is not what we paid for. This was a little ridiculous because all the stores were packed, restaurants and grocery stores were open and it was elbow to elbow shopping in the village so a lot of good the restrictions were on the cabin renters other than to make Christmas with the family more difficult, but this was not the fault of Big Bear Vacations they just passed along the city council recommendations. All things considered we had a great time, everyone loved the cabin, we will rent it again in the future and if the inconveniences are taken car of this cabin is a 5 Star. The people in reservations, the front desk people, etc. made the trip easy and they were very responsive to any questions or concerns we had during our stay. 5 Star rating to the staff of Big Bear Vacations. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This was the first time our family stayed up in Big Bear. Worst experience we've ever had. The cabin " Shady Lady" was horrible. Wifi was promised, not available, and have since taken wifi off of the cabin features. Really dirty everywhere upon getting into the cabin. Broken toilet seat. Dirty kitchen. Had to wash pots before we could use them. Disgusting. First morning there we had ants. In the bathroom and trailing..... Reported everything. The only thing fixed was the toilet seat. By the end of the day ants had covered our food and we had to spend more money to eat out. We spent around $800 for the cabin for the weekend. The management team offered us a $145 credit and 20% off of our next stay......hmmm why would we stay again?? And we had to pay a cleaning fee for a dirty cabin..... Beyond me how they are still in business. Renter beware. To comment on your response..... The wifi was included in the features of our cabin, was not able to be repaired yet we paid for it. We had to pay a cleaning fee yet had to clean up other renters trash. Had to wash pots and pans because they were layered in filth. And bless my heart because your company did all they could. Do not rent from this place. We booked a home for a couple day in November and everything was okay. We mistakenly left a ps4 behind and had informed them. They got to us and let us know they found it and would charge $30 to ship to us. No problem. Sadly they never sent anything, still charged the $30 and stopped responding to my messages. We just received a text of someone attempting to reset the ps4. They clearly still have it and are trying to use it as their own. Ridiculous how a rental company would do something like this and keep things that clearly don't belong to them. read more

Horrible place, should not be rented out to humans, 85 degrees in house entire time, only provided us with 2 fans, dead bugs everywhere upon arrival, ants all in kitchen, only one tv that barely worked, then notice flame from pilot light was on entire time, had to open fireplace to turn it off, the glass on fireplace was extremely hot, no one could sleep it was so hot, gave the kids baths but a ton of dead bugs came out of faucet all over bath tub, no cell service in cabin, tried calling front office but call got dropped. It was the worst place I have ever rented for my family, furniture falling apart, I want a refund, yet they said they would give m 20% off my next visit, there is no way I would rent from this company again, the home was not suitable for anyone, fireplace was so dirty fire hazard. Absolutely horrible experience with customer service! When we arrived this weekend there was a lot of snow on the ground due to the storm from the week before. At check-in I was told that if we needed a snow shovel I could call the front desk and they would have someone deliver it to us. The night we arrived we were able to make due without the shovel but the following day we woke up to a large amount of snow pushed in front of our vehicle by a snow plow. I called the front desk immediately and was told someone would be on their way. On a side note, when we arrived we noticed the place was not very clean. A towel in the bathroom was dirty with makeup stains and the stove was absolutely filthy! Just to name a few things. When I called the desk, I mentioned the towel and was told they would have someone bring clean linens. After an hour of waiting, no one arrived with our snow shovel or linens. We didn't want to spend the entire day holed up in the cabin so we began the task of digging our car out with hands and feet. I called the front desk, advised them we still needed the shovel and linens and that we were heading out for the day. I was told to leave the linens in a bag by the door, which I did, and was assured someone was be by to take care of them. When we returned six hours later, the dirty towel was still on the porch, and there was no snow shovel to be found. I immediately called the desk and the girl remembered speaking to me earlier in the day. She said she was going to figure out what was going on and she would call me back. She asked for a good phone number and that was it. I'm still waiting for that call back. I finally gave up around midnight and went to bed. The following morning we again had to dig our car out with hands and feet. I was pretty fed up and when we went to turn in our key I asked to speak to a manager. I was told she was not around or available. What I noticed was I was not the only unhappy customer in the room. Out of the 15 people in the lobby I heard about 8 people audibly complaining about their stay for various reasons. I completely understand that it was a busy weekend. But I can't understand poor customer service, not following through when you promise to deliver or call back with an update, and ultimately charging such a high price for a cleaning fee yet arriving to a filthy cabin! read more

Stayed at Beary Cozy Cabin in Boulder Lake. The check in on Sunday is only from 4-6pm, making for a stressful drive up to get there on time. The condo seems somewhat recently upgraded but advertised as ultra modern, and it's not. The photos make it look much bigger than it is. We're not big people, and it felt TINY for us maybe 400 square feet? There was dog hair all over the comforter and pillows. I was going to wash it before going to bed but there was no laundry soap. The bathroom walls and bathmat were dirty. The air freshener was overwhelming and never went away. I looked everywhere for a plug-in air freshener etc to no avail. The double bed in the bedroom was by far the WORST MATTRESS I have ever experienced. Checked out after 1 day as I couldn't imagine staying any longer. read more

The experience started at check in where we were greeted by a very friendly staff who gave us tons of ideas of things to do over the weekend. When we got to the cabin, the outside wasn't too impressive but open the door and it's a pleasant surprise! So nicely decorated and CLEAN! We had a hiccup with the internet, but one call solved that and maintenance came right over and hooked us up! We had a great time despite the unexpected rain! After friends and I checked out of a rental property that was used for one night I voiced a list of issues we had experienced in the 18 hours we occupied the property. - Kitchen faucet broken, only scalding water(130 degrees according to our coffee maker) - Stained linens on beds - Broken furniture (bunk bed panel collapsed on a guest in the middle of the night. split wood on dining room chair, kitchen cabinets with missing doors) - constant running water in bathroom toilet throughout the night. I expected them to be apologetic and embarrassed at the state of the property but instead they were defensive and instantly blamed us for all the issues. We were told that the house was "thoroughly inspected" prior to our stay and because we did not immediately bring these issues to their attention there was nothing they would do about it. Even stating we must have been jumping on the top bunk to cause the panels to collapse on my friend that was asleep below. Unbelievable. After reading reviews, now I am not too surprised that the house was in very poor shape as every other Yelp review states the same thing. They do not respect their guests or care for their safety. I rented a Lakeview cabin, last minute, for my husband's birthday (June 28-29). We stayed in cabin #104. The price was VERY reasonable. The cabin was so cute and exactly how it was pictured online. I didn't read reviews until AFTER I booked it, so I was definitely nervous. I checked out the whole cabin, sheets included, as soon as I entered. Everything was clean, orderly, and just what I'd expect from an older style cabin. It was everything I was looking for. My children loved that there was a swing set, pool/jacuzzi, and a ping pong table right outside (we utilized all of it). The fridge & freezer kept our food very cold. Hot & cold water in the shower was on point. We had a nice view of the lake and were able to watch the sunset from the picnic table & patio chairs on the front porch. I appreciate that there was a box fan provided, because I have a rough time sleeping without a fan. We slept much better in those beds than we do at home, lol. While checking in, the staff members were super nice & professional. I have some friends who are Big Bear residents, and the staff gave me an extra parking pass so they could visit. My husband was talking about the "next time we rent one of these cabins" before we even left. My 4 year old said he wanted to live there forever. We will definitely be back, and hopefully we will bring some family to rent cabins next to one another. You exceeded my expectations. Thank you! And a side note: my husband is disabled due to a motorcycle accident. The cabin, as well as the outside area, was very accessible to someone with a cane/walker. But if he were still in his wheelchair, this particular cabin wouldn't have worked for us due to the porch step and cabin size. Stayed at Moose Inn and it was a lovely place to relax for the weekend. It has a warm fireplace and it quite accommodating for my family. Pet friendly and has all the necessary amenities to have a wonderful and short vacation. Short on supplies and beds were not comfortable but it was a nice place to stay and I would definitely recommend! read more

Booking was easy, but what was even easier was resolving a small issue with our rented cabin. Louie at the front desk was incredible. He took care of our needs with no questions asked and immediately got us set up in the perfect spot! We will be back, and will definitely be using Big Bear Vacations when we come. BEWARE! AVOID! LIARS! The pictures they post on their website of the cabins you want to rent out are NOT the same!!! I booked a cabin because I liked how it looked from outside n inside and when we go to our cabin it looked like a cheap motel! They told us we can change the cabin but we have to pay $600 difference ... RATS! The carpet was dirty! Spiders all over. The spa did not work. The stove did not work properly. The curtain in the shower was dirty at the bottom with some hair. Also, over the phone they'll tell you yes to anything to get your business but when you go to check in its a whole different story! Highly, Highly Recommend! We stayed over the 4thof July (2021) weekend and the stay was so relaxing and the Fireworks show on the 4th was fantastic (Best spot on the lake). We stayed at Shore Acres #103 and loved it. From the time we arrived and checked in to the time we left, the staff at Big Bear Vacations as Top-Notch! When we arrived at the actual lodge at Shore Acres (Check-in is at a different location), we were greeted by Courtney who welcomed us and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. During our three days stay, she was always around to answer any questions and she was so friendly and outgoing, she just puts a smile on your face. Once your checked-in, you get a text message letting you know if you have any issues, the number to call for after hours emergency. Well, at 10:30pm our first night, the TV picture went off, but the sound was still playing. Not knowing if they would consider this an emergency, we called the number listed and within 15 minutes, we had a staff member (Chris) show up and determined the TV was bad. He went and got a brand-new TV and had it hooked up all within 30 minutes of our call. Chris was another team member that was super friendly, and we saw him throughout our stay, and he always said "Hi" and asked if we needed anything. Super High marks for both Courtney and Chris. We were hoping to meet Nick (the owner) to let him know how much we enjoyed our vacation at Shore Acres, but unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to meet him on this visit. We have already booked our stay for July 4th, 2022, and hopefully we'll get the chance to meet him then and run back into both Chris and Courtney. As much as we enjoyed Big Pine #103, we decided to go next year with Lakeview #110 and have the best view possible. One last comment, when we got home and booked next year's vacation for the 4th of July, our Reservation and group specialist was Stephanie R. and she was so friendly and such a delight to speak with. She even wished me a Happy Birthday in my email confirmation for next year. We really had a fantastic time and can't wait for next year's 4th of July. Thanks Big Bear Vacations!
