We had been to this place in 2018 and were not impressed because their beers lacked any kind of flavor/character/boldness that made you want to come back for more. Thus began a six-year hiatus despite the fact that we live just two miles away. Well, we dropped in today because Big Beaver is one of the breweries included in our 2024 Pub Pass (pre-paid beer deal), and were pleasantly surprised at how things have changed. The ambiance is still funky, but the beer is excellent. I had the Potent Peter IPA and my wife had the Hoochi Coochie Kolsch. We'll be back to try their other creations and, perhaps, add another star to this rating! read more

This has always been my favorite Colorado brewery, we rolled into town yesterday and went there to learn new owners and new recipes. We ordered juicy peach as it is amazing. Well the old owners took the recipes so this beer tasted sour and artificial. You can see by the glass we didn't finish drinking it. Great place with great beer. The atmosphere is small and cozy, with a large and pun-filled beer selection. My friends subscribe to their perk program, and it seems to be one of the best anywhere (they often get texts for a free pint). Everyday they have specials if you are not on the perk program. Thursday night is game night for geeks, Saturday they offer yoga in the morning for a limited time. Other breweries could take some tips from this place. I'm from Atlanta, and though the city has many brewers, none offer yoga and a free pint! Definitely worth checking out, especially if you live nearby. read more

I was going to use by buy one get one coupon from Donor Trail, but was told by the beertender that Friday's are buy one get one free, so save the coupon for another visit. That tip was appreciated. Positives: Great atmosphere, plenty of room to sit. The prices are good for a 12 oz jar $3.75. The background music is low enough you don't have to yell over it. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Not so great: All the beers taste pretty much the same. I sampled 4 different beers and they were alright but no different complexities I was expecting from a brewery (sorry). Confusing: They have about 20 beers, but the menu is labeled 1-10 twice. So if I want to order a number 3 they won't know which number 3 I want. A little more forethought and organization here wouldn't be a bad idea. Bummers: I ordered food for my sweetheart and never received it. When I enquired about it she apologized and made it for him. Although she comped the food for the inconvenience; it made for an unpleasant experience for my sweetheart. I would go back here for sure. Really an awesome little brewery located by the K-Mart in town. There are not many signs to indicate where it is and since it is in the back of a building it would be very easy to miss. So have that GPS handy! My favorite beers at Big Beaver thus far is definitely their IPA and their chile beer. They both tasted amazing! Of course ALL of their beer is awesome and the atmosphere is nice and intimate so you can pull up and have a conversation with the barkeep. Once again an awesome place! read more

I've heard of the brewery before, but I never knew where it was. My wife was talking to someone at a hair appointment and they found out they had similar tastes in beer and the other lady told her about this place. Soooo... off we went. They have the menu sorted out into two sections to which you can order samplers from each half. There were a couple on each side that we knew we wouldn't like, and didn't want (not our style); so we asked the bar tenders if we could make a custom sampler. She said no problem, handed us a laminated menu told us to pick 8. SCCCHHHWWWING! So we picked out what we wanted, including the special beer - MILF (a nitro porter). We like all of them to one degree or another, I ordered a glass of the MILF, and my wife got the Landing Strip Lager. I admit the MILF turned out OK, I had hoped once it warmed up a bit it would have been better; as I am a big fan of porters, nitro beers, and well MILFS :). However, we both agreed the Landing Strip Lager was the better beer and we ordered a growler of it to take home. We got a couple of Brats while we were there, and while they are nothing to brag about it was nice to have some decent food to eat along with the beer. Some people are going to have issues with the tongue-n-cheek names of everything here, so maybe those people should go up the freeway a bit and get themselves some fizzy yellow mass produced beer; it'll be more likely their style. Overall we really enjoyed the place, and will be stopping in when we can to get more inappropriately named beers! Giggity! read more

If you enjoy beer tasting in a really informal environment, this is a wonderful, new option! Big Beaver opened up just recently in a small facility in Loveland. While not quite ready for prime-time, they are offering tastings of their beers - spanning wheat, bock, brown ale, and IPA. The IPA and wheat, in particular, were outstanding, but all of them are quite good. Peter, the owner of the place, was very engaging, fun, and insightful on the beers. We had a great time there, and stayed for a pint of beer. As this place evolves, I suspect it will be one of the more "fun" places to try new beer recipes. And with the way they play up their namesake (the logo has a landing strip... really), you can tell they are not the most formal people in the industry! I will definitely be checking in on these guys often! read more

Outstanding beer. Every one of Big Beaver's beers have exceptional balance and smooth drinkability. The only food item is brats and onions on a George Foreman grill, but they were delicious and the buns were exceptional. These guys were not prepared for how quick they took off but with beers like these, I can see why they are so popular. From the FAQs I found on the counter: How do you plan on expanding? Open the garage door. - This was the case when I was there, people spilling out of the brewery into the driveway! I drove over an hour for the beer and it was worth every minute. Went here awhile back for my girl's 21st. Surprisingly, not a person in my party was ID'd, including the girl that JUST turned 21 that day. Oh well. We order a beer sampler or whatever. I didn't mind it too much. I felt like a lot of the beers were too bitter or sour, but to each their own. The brats we ordered were tasty, and the spicy mustard that they had was really good! Sadly, I won't be back due to the immature nature of the brewery and it's beers. Literally everything here is named after something profane or some sort of innuendo. We ventured up to Loveland to try a new micro brewery. It had very nice beers. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly. The staff was exceptionally friendly. It is a very small brewery. The beer is served in Mason Jars. I would prefer in a pint glass to enjoy a good beer. The beer names were a little over the top. I think they are trying too hard to be cool, but sort of sleezy names. Other than that, we loved the place. read more

We love Big Beaver - this is our go-to local brewery - and when we say 'local' it's still 14 miles from home (the joys of living in the country). Even though we have to drive past at least another 3 breweries, we'll go the extra 3-4 miles to hit up Big Beaver. Why? Because they are friendly, the atmosphere is very casual, laid back and unpretentious (some breweries could take a big hint here). Their beer is affordable and despite what someone else said, we've never had a 'skunked beer' here. They offer a free taste of anything new or that you cannot remember, and we have NEVER had bad service. There are a few minor things that I might take issue with... - their tasting room opens quite late (2PM during the week) - the 'bar' area could be a little larger. - the main tasting room gets loud - too many people have discovered this gem. So what am I giving this place a 5-star review? They deserve it all day long. We'll continue to drive those extra few miles, because to us, it's worth it every time. read more

Children love this brewery. Especially babies. This is a great place to go if you want to escape your kids and be surrounded by everyone else's. They even put out games for kids. I have come on several occasions and couldn't get a table for my group because multiple tables were taken by children. As far as the beer goes, just lower your expectations before you go. Interesting place and location. You arrive at what seems to be a place for small business offices, and you go outback to what almost seems like a back door out of no-where. The atmosphere inside is okay, not a place you would bring a first date too. You'd be pretty hard pressed to drive across, around, about the beautiful Colorado and not hit a brewery within 30 minutes of your drive. This theory proved true after a morning fly fishing trip. Noon hit, and enter Big Beaver Brewing. The vibe of the joint is on par with other small breweries such as BBB, a little grunge paired with a lot of simplicity. The beers themselves can stand up to any other brewery. The Whiskey Dick Stout, specifically, goes well with any season, even the summer. Infusing it with Bourbon does it justice. I'd give it my thumbs up if you are up for a brew in Loveland. read more

In the world of new breweries popping up everywhere BBBC is like your crazy uncle Willey of breweries, they show up and appear to want to be different than the standard local brewery. During our visit the beer was good, nothing terribly outstanding that I recall. If you have a 10th grade sense of humor (i do) you will crack up at the names of the beers and the overpriced shirts for sale... All in all, check this place out.
