Came here for their Korean Street Food night because hey, who doesn't love Korean food?? I've seen them post about it and I've missed the Korean nights they've had the past so finally got to make it out for it and now I've learned that they're starting to do them every Friday and Saturday night! Small menu but big flavor. Not many options on there but luckily I don't discriminate against anything so I already knew what I wanted to second I looked at it lol. We got the kimchi pancake, pork bulgogi rice bowl, and the cold kimchi noodles. Honestly idk which was my favorite but I do know I could've ate mine and yours weight in those pancakes. Great flavor and texture on them. I didn't think they could be that good but they were awesome! The soy sauce to dip was a nice little touch also. I need to learn how to make those guys lol. The rice bowl was right on par. Not bad but not excellent either. It's basically their bibimbop which is always a hit. I was a fan of the kimchi cold noodles! Haven't had a cold noodle dish yet but kimchi is one of my main food groups now a days so how could I not love them? (I loved them) they were awesome, feel like maybe a bit over priced for them but tbh id prob pay it again. They were pretty dang good. Pretty cool experience, always a great time at the bodega though. If you've never tried Korean food try jumping on the train and starting here. I prefer some of the other places in town if I'm in the mood for it but this was pretty good! Also you can buy the kimchi there in store! We got the 912 and Pimento Pig! 912 was a classic and pretty solid, the Pimento pigged was more flavorful. The bagels were fairly slippery (the goods insides would fall out when you took a bite) - but still good taste just hold on tight :) Service was a 5/10 - just wanted ya to order and get out of there but I guess I get that. Best bagel shop in Savannah and a local gem outside the crowded downtown touristy areas. I bake bread and bagels at home because there are few places to find fresh gluten treats in Savannah. Big Bon opened up recently and is a great addition to downtown. Their Wood-fires bagels have that great dense, chewy texture with a nice toasted skin on the outside. I find that most bagels from other places are too airy and bready for my liking. I was lucky enough to meet Kay, the owner/baker and found she is a wonderful person and passionate baker. I enjoyed the "Yum Yum Twist" in the shop which was shaped as a long twist bun as you might guess. It was sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and spotted with colorful sprinkles to make for a fun looking treat. I took home a half dozen bagels split between plain and everything bagels. Both were delicious. The pure flavor of the plain bagel was savory and delicious. I lightly toasted and topped with melted butter. The everything bagel was enjoyed with some eggs. The savory flavors made for a spectacular morning breakfast. My only suggestion for improvement is to use a little less salt. The bagels left my mouth a little salty when eaten by themselves. This was only a minor distraction and that will not keep me from returning for more of these bagel treats in the future! There is seating inside and the wood-fired oven is on display. You can see them baking in the morning. Kay said they usually finish baking around 7:30am on weekdays and closer to 9am on Saturday's so if you come early enough you can get them right from the oven. The bakery is conveniently locates off I16 at the 37th exit. We live in Pooler and it is an easy stop there-and-back without get stuck in traffic downtown. read more

Opening Day!! This place is super cute and really stands out on the corner in a bright white building. Arrived at noon and since it was already busy, they only had 2 bagel flavors to choose from. I went with the Spicy Mama (pork bulgogi with kimchi cream cheese and peanut slaw), on a fresh everything bagel. It was GREAT! I love spicy and it was not spicy at all, I think the cream cheese chilled out the spicy, but it had lots of flavor. The staff was very efficient. I really want to love this. And it is really cute. But bagels were just ok, lacking in both crustiness and chewiness, more like bread with a hole in it. My everything bagel tasted more sweet than savory, there was not much lox. New York prices--$15 for a bagel and a coffee , but definitely not a New York bagel. But there is little other bagel game in town, and it's a cute spot with a lot of outdoor seating so I will probably still be back. read more

I can already tell this little gem will be a huge success! My girlfriend and I stopped in Saturday morning for breakfast. The location is convenient if you need to find parking and the inside is clean. There's ample outdoor seating as well as a few tables inside. It did take a while to get through the line to order - I think they could benefit having more than one register to take orders on. I ordered the special of the day which was a mediterranean breakfast sandwich. This consisted of eggplant, peashoots, tomato and veggie cream cheese. I ordered this on a sesame bagel but when it came out it was on an everything bagel. I was too hungry to send it back to be corrected. The sandwich ingredients were flavorful and fresh. I had salt n vinegar chips as well. My bagel sandwich was $8, to give you an idea of pricing. I recommend trying out this business. I'd definitely go back! read more

I prefer their bagels to NY bagels, honestly, but don't go here as often as I'd like because parking is always a hassle and the service is weak. They forget the extra sides of cream cheese that I order about 4 out of 5 times that I visit (so I end up paying extra for no reason), have gotten ingredients of my order wrong several times which is very unpleasant as I modify or customize my order due to food sensitivities, and the staff can be weirdly stand-offish at times, even if you're just picking up your order to go. I give it four stars regardless, because their bagels are really that good to me, but I wish the experience of ordering and receiving the food would be pleasant as well. read more

Not your typical bagel as they are wood fired but good nonetheless. Crust had a lighter crisp, crunch on the outside and the inside is chewy good. There aren't a ton of choices on the menu, but what they have is fresh, natural, and quality-made. We were incredibly lucky to stay a block away from Big Bon Bodega during our stay in Savannah.I started my mornings with coffee and their incredibly delicious bagels. I don't know what they do to those bagels but they were awesome. On my last morning, I visited with my daughter and the owner was incredibly kind and offered my daughter a Chocolate chip cookie. My daughter was also kind enough to share her cookie with her brother and my wife and I. Here's what happened next. Prior to leaving Savannah, I walked in and purchased every Chocolate Chip cookie I saw in their display. The cookies are made with brown sugar and have flakes of sea salt. They're heavenly. You have to try them. The staff is incredibly friendly and as I mentioned the owner was so sweet and generous to have offered my daughter a cookie and compliment her about her unicorn jacket. Great food and great place run by great people. It's a shame they're now going to be a 6+ hour car ride from us. I also took home a half dozen of their delicious bagels by the way. I had to load up. We used to live in Savannah and loved Big Bon. Recently went for bagels on a visit and were quite disappointed in the downturn of quality, attention to detail, and unnecessary plastic waste. It is lazy for a bagel shop to give customers plastic knives and plastic containers of spread -- even on a busy weekend (which our visit was not). My wife and I stopped by this place before we left Savannah at the end of our vacation. We both thought what we got was incredible! I decided to get the salmon bagel on the everything bagel. The only thing negative I had to say about it was that it might've had a bit too much cream cheese. However, this was not enough to knock it down from a five star review. BEST BAGELS! I seriously make it a goal to try bagel places everywhere I go. I was slightly disappointed in the lack of bagel places in Savannah until I tried Big Bon Bodega. First of all, the atmosphere is so cute. The wood fired oven is visible, so I'm sure you'd be able to see them being made if you're early enough. There are so many windows, so the inside is practically all natural lighting, making it seem very open. There isn't much seating inside, but there are plenty of picnic tables outside, both in the sun and under shade trees. I ordered the 912 bagel, which is bacon, fried egg, cheddar, and herb butter on your choice of bagel. I chose the everything bagel for it, but I'm sure any flavor is just as great! The bagel itself is is flavorful and the perfect texture. The outside is slightly crisp with a denser fluffy inside. The herb butter also added so much flavor and the bacon was crispy! It was a perfect proportion of bagel to fillings. Many of the girls I was with got The Donna bagel ( slice turkey, watercress, avocado, bacon, and roasted garlic asiago mayo) and raved about it. I also ordered their Yum Yum Twist, which is the bagel dough with sprinkles inside and sprinkled with spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar. They heated this up for me and it was amazing. It was only slightly sweet, but the dough alone is so delicious. This is not a bagel place with endless option of bagel and cream cheese flavors. It is simpler with a limited menu, but it works. The bagels are just so good that I don't see a need for them to expand the menu much. I really think this may be the best bagel I've ever had. I wish I bought a dozen to take home with me. We even wanted to go the next morning, but it was Sunday and they are closed. read more

When I heard there was a Bodega and bagel shop in Savannah, of all places, the New Yorker in me scoffed. But I just happened to walk by it and I liked the design of the place. I mean, it looked absolutely nothing like any bodega I'd ever seen, but it looked cool. They were closed but when I got back to my airbnb I decided to look up the menu and see what was what. The first thing that jumped out at me was that they fire roast the bagels in house, which I appreciated. So I figured, why not? I'll get a bagel sandwich and maybe a couple of bagels on the side. If I don't like it I'll throw it out and get something else. The next day I placed the order and came by to pick it up. The sandwich itself, a basic bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, was fine. A little too "clean" for a real bodega, if you know what I mean. I like my bagel sandwich dripping in grease and salt. This wasn't that. BUT...the bagel itself was REALLY impressive. Surprisingly good. So good I stopped eating the sandwich and instead grabbed the cream cheese and one of the bagels by itself and man, it was really enjoyable. It was soft and chewy. It reminded me a little more of a Chicago style bagel than a NY style bagel, in that it was a bagel that almost had pretzel roll-like qualities to it. Nice and smoky. Probably one of the best bagels I've ever had outside of NYC. I tried to bring them home so I could share with the locals and tell the unbelievable tale of great bagels from Georgia, but sadly they didn't survive the long trip before drying out and losing their special qualities. First time visiting big bon Bodega across the street from Christ church angelic. This visit was June 2020 during the covid-19 pandemic. I must say they were very conscious of the public safety wearing masks and gloves. I was very appreciative for that. I have written only a handful of reviews on Yelp since the beginning of time, but this place was so good I had to add my two cents. I actually hate bagels and the idea of cream cheese kinda grosses me out. My husband and I wanted something we could take on the road before heading back to South Florida so we looked up breakfast sandwiches and found this place near us and we decided to try it out. So glad we did! I ordered The 912, Pimento Pig and Spicy Mama (because we're extra and had to try it)... everything was the best we've ever had. The menu is simple, which to me always means the flavors are big and well thought out. The bagel itself is phenomenal... we had Everything and Sesame Seed (on Spicy Mama, of course).
