YELP REVIEW FOR ROMAN RESTORATION: We selected Roman Restoration for our project -- replacing our existing downstairs floor and converting the stairwell and landings from carpet to wood using Garrison Exotics - Acacia Natural. RR did OUTSTANDING work and completed our project within budget and earlier than projected. Jorge was extremely responsive and provided knowledgeable guidance throughout. Fredy (our project manager) was on-site regularly and always available to us with lightning speed for whatever we needed - questions, professional opinion, guidance, etc. RR handled everything -- moved out our furniture, prepped our household for protection, completed the flooring and stairwell work, moved everything back and even included post-construction cleaning! They gave me the info so I could order it on my own. I just wish they had a fast delivery system, because I would've really liked to pick this niche cover up within 2-3 days. BTW parking is ample around the back. Update 2 weeks later: the new cover arrived in the mail! I installed it. It's almost a perfect fit. We were confused at first as to which Thompson we needed to go to first and why there were two…read more The other location (just a couple blocks away) is the "Design" part, or the showroom really. This location here is where you actually purchase and pick up the supplies. We were able to find everything we needed for our projects at Thompson. We made several trips; scoops of base and sand, sacks of material, and pallets of pavers. Fairly quick to get everything too, not a long wait ever, if any. The staff at this materials location is definitely not as friendly or helpful as the Design location, but then they aren't trying to get your business, at this point they already have it. The people at the counter are still nice enough and fairly helpful, depending on who you talk to. The workers in the back getting the scoops and pallets are quick and get the job done fast, they are the backbone! Pricing is great! And took hardly any time to get what we needed. Keep in mind you have to actually look at the designs and decide what you want at the Design location then order and pay for your items at this location, so that's where it got slightly confusing. And maybe because on our first trip there, the computers were down, so things were a bit amiss. However, if just getting scoops or non-design items then you can go directly to this location to get that type of material. See? It's a bit confusing, but you'll catch on. If we can, anyone can! Terrible management and product quality…read more I paid top dollar for a new front door from Ganahl, only to receive one with obvious defects: flaws in the wood -- including what appears to be a deep saw-cut burn and an oil stain -- putty oozing from the surface, and other workmanship issues that should never have passed quality control. When I reported the defects, Ganahl was dismissive and argumentative. I was essentially told that "wood is wood" and that the condition of the door was normal. That position quickly fell apart when the matter was escalated to the manufacturer, T.M. Cobb, which acknowledged -- from only a few photographs -- that the door did, in fact, have defects requiring attention. Despite that admission, we were told that it would take at least a week for someone merely to inspect the door, with no indication of how much longer an actual repair or replacement might take. Ganahl knew that professional installers were scheduled for the day the door arrived and that the installation was necessary to keep exterior stucco preparation, inspections, and the rest of the construction schedule moving. I proposed a remote video (Facetime) meeting so the parties could review the defects promptly and discuss possible solutions before the project was further delayed. Ganahl and/or T.M. Cobb unilaterally decided that such a meeting would be fruitless and instead dictated that I would have to wait for an in-person visit. T.M. Cobb also refused to discuss the matter with me directly, while Ganahl refused to put me in contact with the person T.M. Cobb planned to send to inspect the door. Their proposed course of action was therefore no solution at all -- send the installers home, stop related work, delay inspections, absorb the resulting costs, and wait at least a week without even being permitted to speak directly with the manufacturer or its inspector about possible options. We were therefore left with two unacceptable choices -- refuse to install the door and bring the project to a halt, or install it to keep construction moving and potentially have to rip it out later. To make matters worse, we were told that installing the door could be treated as acceptance "as-is," supposedly relieving Ganahl and T.M. Cobb of responsibility for correcting the defects. In sum, Ganahl delivered a defective premium-priced product, offered no timely or practical remedy, blocked efforts to discuss solutions promptly, and attempted to shift the consequences of its quality-control failure entirely onto the customer. The defective door was unacceptable. Ganahl's dismissive attitude, lack of urgency, refusal to take ownership, and unwillingness to facilitate direct communication made the experience significantly worse. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering ordering a door through Ganahl or purchasing a T.M. Cobb product.

Why only two stars? Well, I spoke with the Branch Manager who I assumed, being the Branch Manager, would be the most competent of the workers there. I selected a few tiles for my bathroom remodel and he helped me to narrow it down to two samples which he gave me to take home (full size tiles 12x24). That was very generous and greatly appreciated. He wrote up a price quote for me and I was on my way. I confirm with my contractors which tile would be best and I email the manager to let him know which item number I wanted to order. He emailed me an invoice and it had a completely different price. Ok. These things happen. I replied and confirmed details with him and he said he could honor the price he gave me on the initial estimate. Ok great. I confirm the final order with him and for 2 day delivery of the product. I checked the product number and amount and everything looked fine. Unfortunately, due to the price quote correction, I lost two days in production and was getting down to the wire. Delivery comes and I send my guys to pick up the order. I get home later that day and they tell me it's the wrong item. It's too late to order a new shipment so I have to use it. I checked the initial order and the final invoice and the product numbers were different. I ordered Polished ceramic, but what arrived was matte. I sent an email to Emser and the branch manager just said he could have another shipment delivered. No apology. No explanation. No offer of discount for ordering the WRONG ITEM. Nothing. Just "You want it or not" sort of approach. The shower turned out fine but not what I wanted and though it's not the end of the world, it is the end of my patronage of Emser. Large company with multiple locations across a few states. This review won't hurt them, but as a business owner myself, I can't support or recommend a group that handles things this way and I will take my 13 properties elsewhere.

Slab yard staff was super helpful but front desk staff didn't help me order the samples at all despite their QR system didn't work well. They rather chatted away than helped me input the products needed on their computer. Based on overall experience, which is the worst customer service compared to other places I've been to, I would not come back. Fortunately, I didn't take my client here. I'll continue to work with my outside rep, who is more helpful than the showroom staff.

What's the purpose of the account and collecting emails if you aren't going to use them? It's not the way to run a business. You collect the main account email, you need to at the very least cc that email so the whole team knows what's going on. That's the purpose of the account. We don't rent every day, but we for sure won't use them anymore. We won't treat our customers that way and expect them not to treat us that way.

Tailgating, cutting people off, and weaving through traffic like he's in a race. If this is how they let their employees drive company vehicles, I can only imagine the care (or lack of) they put into their rentals. Total disregard for safety and professionalism.
