Lisa E and I went to a local brewery at 4PM craving live music, only to be dissapointed. Seems the original band backed out and the replacement was coming at 7PM. While enjoying our comped beers, scrolling through social media noted that Big Daddy's had the King Cobras playing at 630! We had previously enjoyed the band in the same setting over a year ago, and I was only this years old when I realized the harmonica player is from another favorite band, Blue Roots! Made a reservation and off we went. When we arrived, I noticed seating to the right of the bar that would give us pretty much a front row seat for the music. Lisa was hesitant because it was not truly in the dining room, but acquiesced. So glad we did because we ended up staying for 3 hours, enjoying both sets. We also got to hang with family members and friends of the band, which made for an extremely intimate and enjoyable evening. We both started with sazeracs, which had too much ice to make it the classic that it is. We shared the barbecue plate, some of the meats a hit, some a miss. Pulled pork and brisket a little too fatty even for me , and of the 4 ribs, 2 were meaty and 2 kind of forlorn! Next time will choose more carefully, as previously enjoyed a grits dish and Lisa a salad with grilled shrimp. After dinner, a generous pour of Wild Turkey 101, sipped while swept up in the sounds! Overall a fun evening, music and hospitality being the 5th star, food and drink a 3, so overall a 4 star evening. Definitely will return for this band!

Wow a hole in the wall that's an absolute gem. Cajun based bar with some southern comfort. We did the taco Tuesday special tacos and margaritas. It was amazing! The rice and beans were a perfect pairing with it. They have a great devils hot sauce but we spoke with Hannah, who's great behind the bar, was able to get us habanero peppers in oil which were the perfect spice pairing. I can't believe how local this spot is and I've never been or heard of it until now. Thank you to Hannah and the rest of the staff. Can't wait to return for some good southern cooking!

Love this place. Good service, good food, good drinks, good people. TV and live music on the weekends.

Good food and service , fun atmosphere. One of the few places that serve gator this far north. Gumbo was delicious and the brisket was cooked perfectly. Overall great time.

Loud, noisy, live band playing at 4pm on Saturday. Madison was a great server even with a big party going on in the back part of the restaurant. Bring Tums with you just in case, even though not everything is spicy. But it is Cajun, so beware. I've seen grown men tear up here with some of the dishes. The drinks are powerful and good - especially the Hurricane. I highly recommend Big Daddy's. Bring your appetite and some antacids. You won't be disappointed.

Overall met my expectations and wish I could give 3 1/2 stars but not higher since the food missed at times. Having attended for a holiday party, we order a whole array of food to test the palate. Some food (burnt ends with grits) were highly anticipated but resulted in mouthfuls of fat. Other food had the proper New Orleans creole seasons but just missed the mark. Being an avid fan of New Orleans /creole food, I had slightly higher expectations than most and I realize that distorts the rating. The service was great and the live music certainly provided a comforting atmosphere. Would consider trying again but not at the top of my list.

Yall remember that show? The best thing I ever ate! If BD's was on there it would be them burnt ends and grits. Yeah I've had burnt ends too many times to count and I make grits damn. But together nope never have never would. I'm not anything if I'm not willing to give something a chance and wooow I'm telling you this was fantastic. I found places that don't know how to make burnts at all it's just ends up tuff and feeling like undercooked bris. Theirs was charred so good. Seasoned so well. And that sauce. Not a saucy food guy here but in my Jed Clampett voice WELL DOGGY , slap that over them grits and just give it to me. Everything in this dish. Worked together amazingly the beef the saucy the creamy grits. I'd. Eat this every darn week. Also my rum punch was strong and good loved it. I'm be honest though my oysters are what stopped big D from getting 5 stars. They weren't charred aka broiled enough. For me I like that golden to almost dark color and there was to much cheese and stuff. The oysters got lost in it. I'm going to roll two reviews into one. First time I had BD was two years prior. My sis was having her birthday celebration and got food career from them, but I didn't know till my first official visit after. But the gumbo has to be one of the best I've had in New York. The jambalaya you can't go wrong with it for sure it's a winner.

No hesitation…read moreshe had her sights set on Voodoo Crab and their $17 lunch special, and honestly... she knew what she was doing. We got there right at noon and quickly realized we weren't the only ones in on the secret. Within minutes, the place filled up with hungry diners ready to dig in. We both went for the lunch special (because how could you not?). I ordered the shrimp & mussels, and my daughter went with crab & shrimp. Everything arrived in that classic messy-in-the-best-way seafood boil bag, drenched in that rich, buttery, seasoned sauce that you just have to mop up. The deal also comes with an appetizer and a drink, which makes it feel like an absolute steal. The shrimp were a little stubborn to peel but let's be real, that's part of the seafood boil experience. Nothing was slowing us down. The vibe was lively, energetic, and a little chaotic in that fun, "everyone's here to eat" kind of way. Service was solid and kept things moving even as the place packed out. If you're craving seafood without breaking the bank, this lunch special is 100% worth the trip. My daughter left happy and that alone makes it a win.

For starters, the hostess had a RBF and zero personality. The roll of napkins on the table had food fingerprints from diners past. My son promptly switched the roll with another table. That should have been my warning. We order our drinks and appetizers and requested 2 glasses of water when we placed our drink order. Drinks come-no water. We request the water again and this time one glass comes out. There were two of us. Ok. Not really impressed with the level of attention from our server/s. Appetizers come out, which were fine, and then the meal arrives. I ordered the lunch special Cajun boil. I eat a few shrimp which were delicious, and I crack into the crab leg and the meat is gray. Mushy. Clearly spoiled. I immediately return the dish and when the manager comes to speak to me, he leads with "we changed vendors 3 days ago, and I would offer you another boil but since you didn't like it, I'm afraid the other crab might be the same". Because I didn't like it?! It was clearly spoiled and someone in your kitchen isn't doing their job. After a few more words, finally the apology come out (which is what he should have led with) and a 50 dollar gift card to another VC. He should have comped the entire meal!! The way this manager handled this situation was extremely poor and left a very sour taste in my mouth. This should have ended here. Alas, it did not. Because I ate the shrimp in the voodoo sauce from the boil, (which was contaminated) I got violently sick that evening. Vomiting, stomach cramps and was on the toilet seat on an off for 6 hours. Violently ill. I was unable to sleep because of the unbelievable discomfort. I ended up needing an IV of 2 1,000 ml bags of sodium chloride, Zofran for nausea and medication to stop the stomach cramping. Never ever again. They lost me as a customer.
