A group of my friends and I came here for Long Island restaurant week. Everyone really enjoyed the experience, particularly the food! The appetizers were a very generous portion all around. I got the bruschetta which I thought was very good. 2 of my other friends got the chicken and filet mignon appetizers, and were very impressed with the portion sizes. My other friends got the shrimp appetizer and thought the sauce was particularly good. The filet mignon was perfectly good and delicious, and the accompanying mashed potato and creamed spinach were also great. Some of my friends got the pork chop which they really enjoyed. The dessert options were also solid. I enjoyed my tiramisu and others enjoyed the churros. Service was friendly but didn't fill up our water enough. I also thought the wine glass menu, particularly reds, was also lacking with their options being very average and not having enough information to fully identify the wines. Some of my friends got old fashioneds and they said they were amazing, so maybe a better cocktail spot. Parking was valet only due to the small parking lot and there weren't any other parking options nearby. Would definitely come back especially for the food! read more

Overall it was a good meal, not great, but worth a try. Came with friends for restaurant week on a Tuesday night. I started with the bang bang shrimp which were delicious. Friend for cesar salad and the other the chicken sliders. Those were good. I got the beef tips with cabbage and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the beef and potatoes but not so much the cabbage. Friend got the ribs and she liked them. Desert was fine. I liked my churros but didn't love them. My friend's tiramisu was delicious and the other friend didn't really say much about the brownie so it must have been ok. It's a nice restaurant with great service so I'd try again. read more

12/20/25. Seated promptly on a Saturday night.. now I know why. Started with the shrimp stuffed mushrooms in cream sauce, tasty but lukewarm. For mains we had the chicken franchise (heavy on the butter flavor, not much lemon) and filet. Filet was way overcooked. Gross. The mashed potatoes were dry. Desserts were the cheesecake (SO bland, even sour) and warm brownie (better of the 2). Amanda was a friendly server but service just wasn't up to par, especially with those prices. Delightful and delicious - I had mussels marinara and they were plentiful. Cooked to perfection, the mussels went down easily with plenty of extra juice to dip my crusty bread into for a lasting flavor. Yum. read more

Great restaurant. Everything was delicious, fresh and brought out perfect temperature. The wait staff completely rolled out the red carpet and made sure our drinks and bellies were full all night! The steak, mash potatoes and mushroom dish I got was delicious. I love that they have a variety of steak sauces. All delicious . Portions were very big! To say it was bad would be unfair. It just wasn't good. The wine by the glass list is sub par. There was not one red that would justify being in that menu. Most are jammy and are obviously not fresh. The appetizers especially the salad were good. But the main course was below average. The short ribs were dry, the salmon my wife order was decent but nothing special. The filet looked un appetizing it tasted fine but not steak house quality. The charred broccoli was so salty we had to send it back. And the selection We have been coming to Jake's for year even the other location. But I think either we have grown tired of it or it has just ran its course. It's not really a steak house. It's just a restaurant with steaks. Too many good places to keep trying to relive the good meals it had in the past. Again not bad. Just not good read more

Friends of ours had given us a gift certificate to Jake's and it seemed like the perfect spot to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary last week. We managfed to snag the last parking spot, and went in to the well lit dining room. We were seated at a generous booth and quickly served water and excellent French bread. Our pleasant young waiter kept things moving smoothly. We ordered the tuna tower as an appetizer, and ade it disappear quickly. I had the petite filet and my wife had the linguini with shrimp and broccoli. Our anniversary was acknowledged with a pair of champagne glasses. Prices were on the high side, but they were definitely worth it. Looking around the room, it was obvious that this is a place popular for big life occasions. They are now on our list of celebration spots. read more

Wow! What a phenomenal steakhouse! We tried it for restaurant week and it was $46 per person for an appetizer, entree and dessert. The food was absolutely delicious. My skirt steak was cooked to perfection and was so rich in flavor. Each item we ordered was truly remarkable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The decor inside was very nice and the music was a great touch (Billy Joel). There's ample parking in the lot. We will definitely be back soon. read more

We had dinner for my mom's birthday. The server Amanda was great. All the staff were very friendly. Amanda was attentive and made sure all our needs were met. The food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The drinks were on point! I was so glad my chicken was tender and not fatty or chewy. It was delicious. I definitely recommend the penne a la vodka, the grilled pork chops (my husband loved them) the crème brûlée was amazing!!! The salad was huge and delicious. I came here for a dinner event. The staff were so friendly, attentive and helpful. The dinner went seamlessly. We had a set menu to order from with a salad, choice of an enteee, and a dessert. We started off with a Caesar salad and then we had the choice of either chicken parmesean with pasta, steak, salmon, or penne a la vodka, for dessert we got cookies & brownies. The servers were very polite and provided us with our food and needs so well! They had no problem accomadating us. The food was amazing. The Caesar salad was fresh and their food was good. I got the salmon, which came with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. I would have liked my salmon a bit undercooked but it was ok There was broccoli, carrot & zucchini that made up the steamed vegetable. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and very smooth they were really good. I wished I gotten the penne a la vodka though cause it looked very good as well! After we finished our entrees they gave us plates with cookies & brownies which were fantastic! I don't know how they make them but they were so soft & decadent. Came here for a quick meal. Was very surprised by the quality of the Hamburger that I and my wife ordered. They were done to perfection (rare for me and medium rare for my wife) the fries were crispy and very tasty. An excellent quick meal. The service was very welcoming and helpful. I recommend coming here on a tuesday. The bartender Derek is fantastic at what he does. He's engaging. On top of your drinks and order. Plus whoever is the chef is on tuesdays always cooks everything to absolute perfection. We've never had a bad experience when going on tuesday. On sundays it's different. If you go on a Sunday I'd recommend sitting in the main dining room area. As the tables and bar seating tends to be slowly served and not as attended as the main room, even during slower dining times. Orders tend to take longer, and usually come out wrong. Each time we've come on a sunday it's ends up being an over 2 hour experience begging for refills. And our orders don't come out right. It's definitely two completely different experiences. But go on the right day, it will have you absolutely loving this place. And you will have one of the best steaks ever. As far as parking, it can be really hard to park, as the parking lot fills up. Sometimes they have valet. But not all days. The parking on the nearby streets are restricted for residents only. So it's best to just wait for a spot to open so you're not having to continuously wrap around. read more

Its a nice place, small but the staff was amazing. The menu is odd as it has cash vs credit on each item, like an old gas station, instead of just noting a 3% credit card use. The menu had a nice selection, the Seafood tower was limited and not worth it. The Cold Brew Espresso martini was to die for. Also very nice margaritas. My wife and I had the special Tomahawk for 2, it came with salad, lobster tails, cream spinach and potato augrotten. All were very delicious, we could not finish. My sister had the sole and crab cakes, both very tasty. Desert was chocolate covered strawberries. They were nice and ripe and very tasty. Overall a great meal but touch expensive. We arrived during happy hour and although being seated in the bar area were told we would have to order our drinks at the bar for happy hours prices. Mia, the bartender said we were lying and that the waitress, Nicole would never tell us that, and in fact we were not entitled to happy hour prices. She continued to argue until the waitress verified she did instruct us to do so. During that time, we watched Mia insult other patrons over what she said was an expired credit card (it was not). Dinner was no better. One of filet mignon crostini ordered med well, came significantly undercooked with one piece being raw. Nicole never came to check if everything was fine, in fact, once the food runner delivered our meals, we did not have anyone come to the table for over thirty minutes. When she finally came to our table, she was not gracious but rather very argumentative that the meat was prepared correctly. I have the pictures to the contrary. We hailed a manager who confirmed the order was raw to rare and apologized for the experiences we were having there. Her explanation was that they were down one server and very busy. Perhaps they treat regulars well, but it was an unfriendly, unsettling experience for business travelers. We are in the area every two to three months but will never go there again. read more

One of our favorite places to go on Long Island, the crab cakes are delicious, the jumbo shrimp is really jumbo, their filet mignonette are juicy and tender. The service was great, Kenny was our waiter and he was personable and attentive. Love the upscale environment, but you can also get a burger here also. Can't miss by going here. Had reservations for a Friday evening for the first time. They seemed to be quiet inside but the host made us aware that they were cleaning a table for us and we were seated after a few minutes. A server didn't come over to greet us for a while that we had to get the hostess attention again to ask for a server as no one came over to us yet. She seem frustrated too and sent someone over who apologized for the wait. We probably waited not kidding like 15-20 minutes- two of us had time to go to the bathroom and come back without a server coming over. Drinks took a bit to come out but the food came out super quick at least. Food was delicious- we had the fried calamari as an app. Entrees we did the filet and the chicken special (came with garlic mash and broccoli) that were both fantastic. The food was average and not worth all the hype, but the waiting time for the steak was insanely long we had to waited over 40 minutes for our steak. The total time we for dinner was about 2.5 hours. Three other table people who came in after us already left. The waiter tell me he tell kitchen cook steak our steak at 9pm don't get our food until 9:45. I am still waiting for my food while typing this review. My son was very tired and annoyed during this experience. When we got the steak, the outside part was very burnt and didn't taste as good as the price. We ask for medium cook for steak came out overcook. The lobster and the mash potato is probably the best part of the whole dinner. I appreciate how the manager came over and apologized about the waiting time and took off a round of drinks for us. Jakes was wonderful... it is pricey... Especially for the area. The service was outstanding. The food I don't think was as good as it should've been for the price but it was definitely very good. I recommend the lobster mac & cheese. But I would not recommend the short ribs that I have they were very salty. And the flavor just wasn't right. They make a great martini though. One more thing... Pulled up to the parking lot to an easy valet park. Check in girls up front were fun and very accommodating us a table we liked. Had a great waiter (I think his name was George) who really was a pro and made the night special. Ordered a just average Caesar salad, (asked for anchovies and none were to be had. We come to Jake's at least once a month and the food, service and atmosphere are always great! The filet is solid every time same w the burger. They also do a great sea bass dish and lobster risotto too! Certain times of year they have full lobsters on special which are usually a great price. They have a good cocktail menu and the wine list is okay as well. Their house wines are always fine. They have a patio in the front for outdoor dining but we've never sat outside. The restaurant is across the street from the hospital and not far off the road so I would expect it to be noisy if you are out there. Desert menu is a good size and the carrot cake and cheesecake are both a couple of my favorite choices. Valet parking on weekends. read more
