I came here with some friends on a Sunday and had the best time. We walked up as they were playing live music (I think this may be a regular thing) but the energy and vibes were on point. They have a large patio (like most places in Soulard) and it has ample seating. There's a bar inside for overflow. While they do serve food, we missed the cutoff and just went with water and cocktails. They have a nice assortment of spirits (rum, vodka, gin, etc) with plenty of mixers to accompany it. I went with my usual Three Olives Grape and sprite and it came in a plastic cup, which you could keep. I def. like the convenience of it because you can reuse it instead of having to toss it. The bartenders were friendly and upbeat, which makes a difference when it comes to service and overall experience. I wish I could have tried the food, so hopefully I'll get there earlier next time. Great food and great music! The stuffed mushrooms were a great start and I followed up with "The Cadillac" steak sandwich! It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in quite a while. This is a nice bar to visit when in Soulard. We had mozzarella sticks and mini tacos and they were delicious. They didn't take long to come out either. There were 7 TVs in the inside bar area. There is a large outdoor seating area and also an enclosed outside heated area. read more

Came here before a Cardinals game because they have a shuttle and it wasn't bad. The place is just a regular sports bar with good food. The service was a bit slow but I think they were short staffed that day but the bartender/ waitress was nice. They have a decent size inside section and a pretty big patio. When it came time to start getting ready to get on the shuttle the driver walked around and asked people if they were getting on. I liked this and the driver was very friendly. This is a good place to come before sports games because of the shuttle and they have good food. read more

Mardi Gras weekend 2021 was definitely very different in Soulard. Not only did COVID keep crowds away, but frigid temperatures kept party goers in-doors. It was sad to walk past Big Daddy's which is typically a Grand Parade Day hot spot and not hear the typical Mardi Gras merriment. So to honor the legacy of this Soulard staple... here's a review reminiscing of warmer temps and colder beers. Big Daddy's lovingly refers to itself as "The Best Bar In The Whole Wide World," and while I suspect mass voter fraud in said poll, they offer the neighborhood a great atmosphere to blow off steam. Since moving to the neighborhood, I've gone to Big Daddy's many times for lunch, happy hour and even dinner. The menu has many creative takes on pub fare. My go to when ordering lunch from Big Daddy's is The Angry Daddy, a burger smothered in buffalo sauce and topped with fiery fried jalapenos. It has just enough kick to make a typically boring burger into something extraordinary! In a COVID-world, Big Daddy's offers a massive outdoor space that is well shaded by trees. It's a lovely space to enjoy a bucket or two! And while I have never used the service, Big Daddy's offers a shuttle to and from sporting events in Downtown. Pretty awesome idea! In Soulard for the first time. We googled places to check out for drinks, good bar food and to watch some football. We had a blast. Ended up there for about 5hrs. It was the Friday after Thanksgiving, so it was not very busy when we arrived at noon. We ate several different appetizers. The toasted ravioli was good. The bartender, Anna, recommended the stuffed mushrooms. They were the best stuffed mushrooms we've ever had. The andouille sausage in them have them a tiny kick but a ton of flavor. 10/10 would recommend. We also had the wings with the sriracha teriyaki sauce. They were bomb as well. Crunchy. The flavor of the sauce was fantastic! Can't wait to try and duplicate at home. The famous garlic bread was also great! Didn't get a picture of the wings or garlic bread... we were too focused on eating them. The staff was very nice. We drank there for a long time and they were slow, so we had some good conversations with them. Anna made of several new shots to try. And we played around with the shot wheel again. I live in Minnesota, but next time I come back to visit my friend, we will definitely be back! read more

I came here for lunch on a Monday around noon before I was going to do a brewery tour at Anheuser-Busch a few blocks away. So not the best day/time to get a good feel for the vibe of a place but the interior seemed ok and they have a nice patio that looked like it would be well-shaded in peak sunlight times. My waitress at the bar was pleasant and someone who I took to be a manager also asked several times if I needed anything and thanked me for coming as I left. The menu seems decent enough that most will find something to eat and the drinks menu was very reasonably priced. I'd come here again if in St. Louis and the Soulard area. read more

My first time coming here was during the St. Patrick's Day bar crawl, for the 'after party' and probably won't be back. Nice bar with a sports bar vibe. However....The communication with staff was so disconnected between up and downstairs. My friends and I ordered drinks at the bar downstairs, before going up to get a table to sit. It was roughly 9:30 when we asked the bartender if we could order food still, she said yes no issue. An hour goes by and we're still waiting. When my friend approaches the bar inquiring about our order, she's told they closed down the kitchen early, and she just found out. Interesting to be hosting an after party, and close the kitchen down, but whatever. We ask for a refund. Waited over 45 minutes for someone to come up. I went to talk to the guy who was supposed to issue the refund, only for him to walk around me and go talk to my friend. So we're all going back and forth cause we paid cash, and wait for him to look up our receipt. He asks me for the total, I'm attempting to tell him the total, only to be cut off and be given some other total. Rude as hell. Honestly most of the bars I went to during the bar crawl in Soulard were rude. read more

I've been here a couple times and the best thing about this place is the food. The chicken wings I've had are really good and I recently had a sandwich (I think it was a Big Daddy's out something) & it was delicious. The beer choices though are terrible (hence the 3-star rating), unless you only drink A-B products as that's all they carry. This is due to an agreement the owner made with the brewery years ago....I have no idea as to why the owner still honors it as A-B isn't a hometown company anymore since being bought by conglomerate InBev. I'll come here for food but if it comes to drinks, I prefer other places as I prefer places that have a variety of different beers from multiple breweries, not just 1. read more

Super solid spot! Wanna drink before a game? Big Daddy's. Wanna drink during a game? Big Daddy's. Wanna get a ride TO the game? Big Daddy's. Catch my drift? This particular location (there are more than one) is in Soulard, and offers a free shuttle to customers to/from games starting about an hour before and leaving until an hour after. (They do stop running from Inning 1 through the top of the 8th). Really great bar food: burgers, pizzas, wings, nachos etc. You can't go wrong with a cold beer here too. Pro-tip: they've been on Groupon here and there as well, but make sure you purchase for the right location :) I'm sure they get even more crowded on sunnier and weekend days. They're also a stone throw to the Budweiser factory, so if you ever have to wait for a table, just meander down the street too for a cold one! read more

Gave a baby shower Feb 17, which included 50-60 couples, friends and family through out the day. Ordered several food items off buffet menu plus soda/ tea beverages from bar. Food was GREAT (Lil corn dogs, Ravioli's, Mozzarella sticks and Cadillac sliders), food trays didn't go empty, thanks Chris and Avery. Top floor was blocked for our private event. Gave us ample time to decorate, had chairs and tables for our guests to sit plus seating at the bar. Some extra tables also for food items brought in from family. We used DJ area for gifts and good size room attached to bar for more seating and photo opts. Great atmosphere and upstairs bar is gorgeous! And the shuttle drop off/pickup location is right outside of the stadium at Spruce St & S Broadway Ave. Super friendly bus driver & you can bring your drinks from the bar onto the bus! Awful. Waitress brought drinks and then never returned. As if our table of 4 was invisible. Never brought menus or even asked if we were eating. I finally - after 30+ minutes- went to the bar to pay our tab. Same waitress said, "Well I told you that the menu was on line." "No you did not...and I was paying attention." So pleasantly surprised with this place. See the photos. There is a Turkey Dip, which is like a French dip only w/ turkey au jus....O.M.G. How unique is that sandwich and, with a nod of approval from the super awesome and friendly server/bartender, I did indeed order that turkey dip sandwich, which totally lived up to its name. The wings we had as an appetizer were meaty and had a good amount of sauce on them. No complaints. read more
