10/10 bagels!!! My partner and I got the Asiago bagel and cinnamon sugar bagel toasted with cream cheese - ABSOLUTELY delicious! We were impressed with the amount of cc, they are not greedy with their cc and that made both of us very happy! We also tried the chocolate donut and it's delicious like a chocolate cake donut - not to sweet not to bitter! Bonus they make everything homemade in store! We will be coming back for sure, the cashier was also super friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions! The cold brew we got wasn't really our thing kinda too bitter for us but we still will be coming back! (This doesn't count against them at all because some ppl love that!) read more

This bagel shop started off as a side project by Pizzeria Faulisi on the weekends and I'm real glad they made it into it's own storefront. It makes sense because every weekend they had them they were sold out very fast. They also have awesome donuts , biscuits, coffee and will be adding breakfast sandwiches soon. Definitely the best bagel I've had here in NC. The everything bagel was really seasoned well and very flavorful. The salt & pepper could stand a bit more salt but it was still very tasty. I took a shot at the day old 2 bagels for $1 and I think I got two more salt & pepper but it was hard to tell. Even the day old bagels were tasty though! read more

I have been wanting to try this place to see what the hype was about. I finally went the day after Thanksgiving. 8:30 am. I just got 4 bagels to go since they were out of everything bagels. Simply put, these are average at best. Texture is key for a bagel and the soft outside of these bagels is a disappointment. They are basically glorified dinner rolls. Nice place, centrally located and ideal for a quick stop in and pick up or however there's no seating or shaded cover. They do not serve coffee of any kind. Staff seems very nice. Nothing special, certainly not worth waiting in line for on the weekends. I went to Big Dom's a couple weeks ago on a Saturday. Line out the door so I left and came back midweek when only a couple of people were inside. Based on the reviews, I expected something special but just got a normal asiago bagel. Nothing wrong with it, maybe a tad better than Bruegers but not as good as one of the Einstein Bagels that Publix sells. The lose an additional star for the cream cheese. More is not always better. There was so much cream cheese on it that it completely covered my hands when I unwrapped it. I finally had to take the halves apart because so much was oozing all over everything. Seriously, I wanted a bagel with cream cheese, not a bagel completely covered inside and out with it. Fortunately, I brought the bagel home before eating it. If I had pulled it out at the shop, it would have been a huge mess. read more

These bagels give me liiiiiife! I have tried one of their breakfast egg sandwiches but found myself way more drawn to their Cinnamon Sugar bagel w Salted Honey cream cheese. Omggggeeeee. So good! I've also tried their Everything bagel (usually my staple and go-to) and Salt and Pepper was also good!! I paired them with plain cream cheese and the scallion for the Everything bagel. My life was a sad existence until I found Dom's Bagels. Saddled with subpar bagels that were no more appealing than a slice of day old white bread, I almost gave up on finding bagel nirvana. Fortunately this place turned things around for me and I have become a true believer in all things bagels. I love that I can call ahead and they always have it ready on time and no standing in line like a chump at some place like Bruegger's. The drive in is very efficient and the people who work here are always friendly and I feel appreciated as a customer. The coffee is delicious and made by local roasters and they use Escazu chocolate for the mochas that elevates this coffee over all other places. Took a walk from the Saturday farmer's market to split a BLT on everything. I'd heard there were Montreal style bagels out here, we had to try them out! Growing up as a relocated Canadian, I had the chance to experience fresh bagels from St-Viateur during our summer trips back. The sandwich bagel was cold, maybe we have to ask for it to be toasted, which was kind of disappointing, cold bagel? Bacon was super tasty and the sandwich was a monster. It's a little far for us to get here, but I can see how this would become a favorite. I'd have to get a hot bagel to compare to the originals, but you can tell they are well made bagels. It took me a few visits to find my groove with Big Dom's and now I'm obsessed. Despite them making very clear their bagels are Montreal-style, not NY-style, it still took me a while to let it go. ;) If you're used to and in love with NY everything bagels, you may be slightly disappointed with the seasoning as it won't be quite as savory and salty as what you crave. But it's still objectively a good bagel, especially in the south. However, their salt & pepper bagel is AMAZING. So much more nuanced than the traditional NY salt bagel which assaults you with giant rock salt (which I also love). I can't believe I found a bagel in NC that I would order before any bagel back home. I humbly step down from my insufferable bagel high horse. The bagels here are great. I asked for a smear and I got an entire tub of cream cheese on my everything - or it at least seemed that way. The sandwiches are good - they've got bacon, egg, and cheese - and it's a VERY liberal amount of egg (scrambled). 11 minute wait on my 2nd visit, and about the same on my first, so prepare to get comfy. Was really craving a lox bagel with all the works so I did a quick Yelp search and found Big Dom's. Placed my order the night before and had a little sticker shock ($11 for a lox bagel sandwich. Order of 2 = $23. SHEESH). The drive through window was easy to navigate and they quickly brought out my bagels when I told them my name. Unfortunately, my husband and I both agreed these weren't that spectacular. There was way too much cream cheese, the bagel itself was small so the toppings were spilling out at every bite. This was hands down the messiest bagel sandwich I've ever had. Not in a good way either.. I just wasn't impressed. Obviously it won't be as great as a lox bagel in NYC (looking at you, R&D!) but I actually preferred the ones I make at home with Trader Joes lox and everything bagels. Seriously. If you want to find the rudest cashier from a local shop!? This is the place!! This shop is very small inside & out.....so you can't obviously miss a customer as they are walking in. I waked in on a Wednesday morning at 7am, not once did Grace (I believe that's her name) smiled, she didn't greet me, she looked at me as if I was lost. Solid find. I take the train to and from Raleigh a lot and once I discovered this gem I made it part of my routine. Tiny in size but mighty in love and taste. Big Don's bagels are one of a kind. Seating is limited so don't intend to stay. I would definitely say it's very hipster. Prices are little exorbitant for a bagel shop, but they have a wide variety of food choices, and very limited bagel options. I order a toasted poppy seed bagel with butter and I paid $3.25. I have the palette of a NYer when it comes to bagels and this one did not quench that. Not 100% sure I would return based off of the food alone. I would come back for the customer service. I got a cup of coffee for $2.50 and their HOVA sandwich which was a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, red onion, and capers for $10. I was a little appalled at the prices- $2 for a bagel and $2 for cream cheese. The bagel was pretty big and looked good. I found the cream cheese to bagel ratio to be off. I really didn't taste any cream cheese on the bagel, just the other toppings. The bagel was also SUPER watery and was beyond difficult to eat. It tasted good, but it really didn't satisfy my craving for a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. I definitely don't think the bagel was worth $10. The coffee, however, was really good! We ordered two bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches; one on a plain and one on Asiago. First there is a thick, rectangular slab of egg sticking out the sides which just looked plain disgusting. But then the flavor, oh, what flavor, there was absolutely no flavor at all. The odd taste of the egg concoction completely overpowered even the saltiness of the bacon. I really wanted to like this place and while the bagels were satisfactory (good, not amazing in my opinion) the prices are too high to ignore dragging its score down. Things that make me feel blatantly ripped off as a consumer: --$2 for a bagel or $4 for a bagel with cream cheese. This should speak for itself; I have never seen prices this high as even at the most expensive bagel shops in the area a bagel with cream cheese is $2-3 with bagels by themselves being far cheaper. -$2 for a can of pepsi/diet pepsi. I would have been ok if they had been transparent that I was paying $2 for a can of soda however it was marketed as $2 for soda without the ability to see the cans nor described as a can of soda on the menu. -I understand this isn't starbucks, but I don't feel I should be paying top dollar when there is no seating Overall, their bagels are good but not exceptional enough to justify the price they are asking. Fantastic! 4 stars overall because the system is a little chaotic. It's hard to know who has ordered and who hasn't because it's such a small place. Also $2 for cream cheese on a bagel . But they do give you a lot - so much for us it would be enough for 2. Overall delicious and a must try. I am looking forward to when they offer the things besides bagels - like donuts & biscuits. It is a little pricey and their service stinks. They give you a pick up window and than consistently miss the window by more than 20 mins. We waited in their extremely long line then they told us it is not ready even though we were already past the pick up time. They said they would call us when it is ready but than never called. We had to call back to figure out that our order was ready. This has happened multiple times. The two prior times we were told to get back in line. On top of this they ask for tip and payment upfront. So you have no options after the consistently poor service. It is too bad since the have great food. Follow-up on the review above-There management team did quickly reach out.
