Big Fin has always been a favorite of mine! A must order is the carpaccio and calamari. I haven't been in a while and miss some of their other dishes (I believe there was some sort of cookie dessert and sea bass) but still loved my time there! Service was great and the actual restaurant is a great vibe. If you want seafood in the sand lake area this a must visit.

Big Fin Seafood Kitchen is A Quiet Gem with Great Food Big Fin delivered exactly what I was hoping for a peaceful dining experience paired with delicious seafood. The restaurant itself is quiet and relaxing, making it a perfect spot for an intimate dinner or a calm night out. The dishes were fresh and flavorful, cooked with care, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality in the seafood. The service was excellent attentive without being intrusive. Staff made sure everything was on point throughout the meal. If you're looking for a seafood restaurant in Orlando that combines great food, wonderful service, and a quiet, inviting atmosphere, Big Fin is definitely worth visiting.

Lobster Bisque
Phil B.

Out of town visitor from Southern California visited on a Tuesday. He dined at the bar. He came with stone crab intentions. He inquired about the claws and told they were available in Large size, freshly delivered on that Tuesday and were available at $40 for the half order. He obliged and excitement grew as he waited. The claws were substantially a great value! Six rich and meaty arrived with dipping sauces all layered on top of a bed of ice with lemon to accent. After great crab handling display and meat consumption the gentleman sat back and relished, but the chill of the claws had him feeling a bit cold, fingers cold to any touch. As an anecdote to the chill he rested himself with a warm bowel of lobster bisque. The bisque was warming and delectable. A creamy sherry flavored broth was the bow or the evening. He thought " this restaurant delivered exemplary service from a young and professional bartender 2 outstanding seafood option at very fair value." The out of town visitor was very impressed. Thank you to the staff

My recent diagnosis of an autoimmune disorder made it critical that we clean up our eating habits. Cooking at home is easy but eating out is challenging, especially at a place like Big Fin that offers such a creative menu. On our reservation I indicated that I have food sensitivities and cannot have gluten sugar or dairy. When we arrived, our waiter Mike immediately suggested menu items that could be tweaked to meet my needs. While I was still being blown away by this, Chef David walked out to join our conversation. I was so impressed by their kindness and true interest in what I needed to remain safe and healthy. I had the grilled swordfish with brussies and green beans. This fish. This fish was simply the best piece of fish I've ever had. It was absolutely succulent, literally melting in my mouth. Wow. Chef took great care to make sure my meal was prepared cleanly and checked on me a few times to make sure I was ok. Hubs had the sea bass over coconut rice which arrived in a gorgeous blown glass shell shaped dish. He said it was just terrific; buttery, tender and flakey. We had to skip dessert, but the anniversary card Mike had everyone sign for us was just as sweet! We will be back next time (and every time) we're back in Orlando. Thanks, guys!

Golden shrimp, calamari, oysters, and crab cake

Went for Happy Hour with friends and sat near the bar. Restaurant was kind of empty and decor was basic. We order a few of the Happy Hour appetizers (Golden shrimp, calamari, crab cake, and Oysters). Golden shrimp and calamari were delicious. Oysters were fresh. Crab cake was meh, lots of filling, not lotta of crab meat. The bar filled up quickly so service was a got pretty slow but the bartender was friendly. It probably would be helpful to have more than one bartender or server during happy hour. Overall experience was decent.

I had the big fin platter as well as ahi tuna nachos. Everything was very good and fresh will definitely be back

Recommend the big fin seafood platter and ahi tuna nachos was very good . And will be back

I've been here before and enjoyed it. Decided to give it a go again for the Magical Dinning. The food was amazing! Good portion sizes and all around a great experience. Our server, Chris, was an absolute darling. He was very attentive and super helpful in answering any questions we had. If you go, I highly recommend you guys ask for him!

I always scour all the Magical Dining Month menus every year to see who's putting forth effort into attracting new business and who's just phoning it in and putting chicken and pork tenderloin dishes on the menu to check a box. Well, Big Fin Seafood made it into my top five this year, so we made reservations and in we came. The outside was confounding. I don't have a lot of experience in this part of town, but it was in a strip mall that was very fancy, but also a depressing ghost town. Interesting. The inside, however, was very fun and grandiose. Giant ceilings covered with seafood art, a nice little oyster and seafood window when you walk in, and a big spinning Scarface-esque globe in the middle of everything. Great ambiance. The service was also nice. I forget her name, but she was very friendly, kept my bread and butter flowing, and knew the wine list pretty well. I appreciated her service. As for the food, we both got the Magical Dining menu and shared. Apps: Grilled Florida Shrimp (ponzu beurre blanc, grilled lime, crispy onion). Perfectly cooked, huge shrimps, the sauce was one of the best sauces I've had in a long time. I sopped up every drop with the bread. And the crispy onion was great for a little texture. Smoked Florida Blue Crab Dip (red pepper jam, sesame lavosh). This was good. It was actually like 90% crab in this dip, I wasn't mad, and the jam added a little kick of brightness. I kind of wish there had been more of it. Mains: Salmon Rockefeller (roasted salmon, bacon & rockefeller crust, green beans). This was the dish of the meal for us. Salmon was a nice big filet, cooked well, and slathered with a magical Rockefeller concoction. Very creamy and bright with spinach. It also came with a an unlisted side item of little roasted potatoes. It was just an excellent dish. It's the reason I bumped this place up from for to five stars, honestly. Big Fin Swordfish - Fort Pierce (blackened 14 oz. center cut fillet, citrus brown butter, crispy capers, potato puree & steamed asparagus). Wow. So good. A very hearty swordfish steak that was proudly caught in local Fort Pierce, and it was cooked to perfection, not dry at all, yet seared very well. Capers on top to add those needed pops of salt, just really yummy. And desserts: Florida Key Lime Pie (fresh house made). Standard. Nothing too extraordinary about this pie. Pineapple Upside Down Cake (tableside flambe). Also nothing too crazy about this dessert. This place focused on and excelled at the savory stuff, that's ok. But know that they pour a large amount of booze on this, and the fire does not cook it all out, so make sure your DD isn't a lightweight if they eat this. Overall, I think this was an overall very good MDM menu. I had never really heard of Big Fin before, but now they are definitely on my radar.

Mardi Gras Beignets (~$12)
Aya E.

Ordered: Mango Limeade (~$8): Mango Purée, Pineapple juice, Lime juice, Soda Water 6 Rockefeller Oysters (~$24 MP) Maryland Style Crab Cakes (~$23): with saffron aioli 3 Mardi Gras Oysters (~$6): with cajun butter (removed sausage) Jumbo Fried Shrimp (~$34): 8 Golden fried jumbo shrimp, remoulade sauce, fries Little Fin Seafood Platter (~$55): 6 oysters, 6 shrimp cocktail, smoked crab dip, royal red shrimp ceviche Mardi Gras Beignets (~$12): filled with chocolate Aya's take: We were in the mood for oysters and found ourselves at Big Fin Seafood. We had a reservation although they weren't super busy when we went. Despite that, it took us 10 minutes or so to get seated and service was pretty slow throughout the night. We never got our complimentary bread that it seemed like other tables had got to start with and it took another ~10 minutes to get waters. We had plenty of time to figure out what to order and soon enough, our food began rolling out. The Maryland Style Crab Cakes were small but were made with real crab and were surprisingly tasty. I really enjoyed the Mardi Gras Oysters but the Rockefeller Oysters were overwhelming with cheese. I know it's a key ingredient but it just took away from everything else. The Jumbo Fried Shrimp was fresh, crispy, fried golden, and the fries were addicting. The Little Fin Seafood Platter seemed like a good idea but honestly, I only really enjoyed the oysters which were super fresh, plump, and mild in flavor. The shrimp cocktail were also decent but everything else was absolutely disappointing. It seems like they do a great job with the raw seafood but most other dishes can be skipped, in my opinion. Decent try!

Pros: This restaurant participates in Magical Dining month. That is always a pro. I love this event that happens every year. The ambiance was gorgeous. Huge dining room with pretty pictures of fish everywhere. A big spinning globe in the middle of the room. Very pretty. The service was very nice. Plenty of refills, and very prompt service. Cons: No real cons. The desserts sounded good on paper, but in real life they were pretty disappointing, especially since this was one of the $60 menus. Tips: Get the salmon rockefeller. Trust me.

All you can eat crab legs on Tuesdays. Amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the drinkies are pretty tasty as well. I recommend you arrive early as the special is pretty popular post 6pm.

Wow what a difference a new owner can make. Haven't been here since new ownership and now I know why I could get in last minute on a Friday night. Changed the level of service offered and menu. Had a new server/waiter although very pleasant did not know the menu or how dishes were prepared. Very disappointed, once voted best seafood restaurant now I'd have to put it with Bahama Breeze for service alone - for real. That said my snapper was very good, rice was not cooked and cold, plate could have had better presentation but the snapper did taste very good. Hubby's swordfish was not very fresh and he was quite disappointed.

Food service was slow. Food was very good and very expensive especially for the modest portions. No parking, valet only.

From the beginning, our waiter seemed visibly annoyed with us. Each drink we ordered felt like an inconvenience to him, and it was consistently difficult to get his attention. We actually would have ordered more drinks, but he rarely came back to check on us and never offered refills. His overall disinterest made it uncomfortable to even try to flag him down. It was awkward because we literally watched him sit and chat with fellow employees at the bar. Our food also took quite a while to arrive and, when it did, it was only room temperature. We were even missing an item from our order. When we mentioned it, there was no apology -- we were simply told it would be removed from the bill. Our waiter was literally mid "walk-away" while telling us this-- we were looking at his back trying to hear what he was saying. It was beyond rude. It's disappointing because the ambience had so much potential, but the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome and underwhelmed.

Our server was awesome and truly made the meal more enjoyable. I'm hard of hearing, and when they noticed I was struggling, they kindly relocated us to a quieter spot in the corner where I could actually hear my wife. That kind of attentiveness means the world. Throughout the evening, our server was helpful and engaging, and started us off with some bread for the table. It seemed fresh baked with a crisp crust and wonderfully soft in the middle. For our entrées, we had the Chilean Sea Bass, which absolutely melted in our mouths, and the 10oz center-cut filet, which was perfectly cooked to order with no fat or tendons -- just pure quality. You can tell they take pride in what comes out of that kitchen. They finished our meal by bringing out a special plate for my mom with a trio of strawberry sorbet, a chocolate cookie, and banana foster. It was beautifully presented, and that banana foster was fantastic! We will definitely consider ordering a full-sized one on our next visit. Overall, Eddie V's delivered an outstanding experience -- from the atmosphere to the service to every single bite. We'll absolutely be back.

I was in this part of town for a conference, so I decided to come to this location, instead of the Mills one. Thank God I did. We walked in unexpectedly into karaoke day! Very good song choices, very entertaining participants, a very fun thing to be around while chomping down on all the seafood. Two different types of crab, a bunch of crawfish, and a lot of other good accessories like the corn, potatoes, and Andouille. The seasoning was heavy, it wasn't too buttery, and the seafood wasn't overcooked or anything. This was one of the best seafood boils I've ever had, and I may have to rethink finding a new place next year. This place was absolutely banging.

On top of that, tip was already auto grat, which I didn't think was what I would have tipped. If there were 2-3 servers, no problem, but all that tip going to one person when service drastically slowed? Horrendous. Management, fix your staffing issues! At least stop seating people when the place is full and you know you do not have the capacity to serve all these folks. Everyone in the restaurant was trying to be patient but there was a lot of angst all around, plus the server seemed to have a bit of a spiff with the manager / owner that came out to drop off food (which also didn't give for good vibes when you're eating). It felt like they were one step away from a shouting match. Besides that, the Bite 30 menu was a great deal. Apps were solid, as were mains. Dessert wasn't great though. But still a solid deal to get some crab plus extras in, and is a good way to sample their offerings.

I really wanted to like this place but it was a swing and a miss. Parking was easy during the Saturday afternoon we visited. On busier occasions, they do offer valet parking. Nearby businesses share parking so if it's a peak time, you may have to walk a little to the door. Not a long wait before we were seated. Spacious with tables and booth seating. There is a bar and televisions here. Our hostess was nice and offered insight into the menu. For the appetizers, we started with oysters Rockefeller, and fried gator tail. It's a red flag when places smother items in a sauce instead of letting it stand on it's own. No complaints on the oysters and the gator tail was given previously frozen vibes. For the entree, I got the shrimp po' boy. The bread was hearty and held onto the six lil shrimp that they felt were enough. When the ratio of shrimp, bread and topping aren't portioned right, you end up with gaps of the flavor when you're eating. What sent me is the shrimp weren't properly deveined. If you took a biology class, you know that black line running along the back is the shrimp's waste system. I'm not eating that. The hostess saw me just sitting there looking at my food and asked if I wanted something different. Hard pass. Even the waffle fries were bad. They weren't piping hot and dried out inside. I made due with the sweet tea which they did well with. The manager came by and offered to remake or replace my meal. I appreciate his efforts but I didn't want anything at that point. The bathrooms were clean. Nice enough people but the kitchen didn't get it right.
